Well, here goes nothing.

Here is the beginning of what will be a terrific new blog. Please check out Erich’s work and IMMENSE historical knowledge.

gaerich's avatarAugusta Historian

I have been thinking of starting a blog for sometime, well actually my wife has been telling me to start one for sometime, and now thanks to my friend Perrin Lovett over at  https://perrinlovett.me/ I know how to do it. I have never been much of a writer only a modestly gifted story teller so bear with me as I try to figure this thing out.

I want to use this forum to share some of the history stories I learned over the years while walking with people through local cemeteries and museums. I am also involved in a few historical organizations that deal with topics outside of Augusta history, so  I am sure that occasionally they will come up. Just remember, like my Facebook page, this is my personal blog, so if I happen to write something that you don’t feel is Augusta history related, don’t get upset and start complaining…

Scheming the Impossible: FBI Finds(??) Voting Security Breaches

Tags

, , , , , ,

This is interesting, especially for anyone still interested in conventional politics. Really especially interesting for someone planning to participate in the Great Quadrennial Black Mass this November. It even has my attention though for academic and juridical reasons.

The FBI says it has detected security breaches in computerized voting systems in Arizona and Illinois.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The Federal Bureau of Investigation has found breaches in Illinois and Arizona’s voter registration databases and is urging states to increase computer security ahead of the Nov. 8 presidential election, according to a U.S. official familiar with the probe.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said on Monday that investigators were also seeking evidence of whether other states may have been targeted.

The FBI warning in an Aug. 18 flash alert from the agency’s Cyber Division did not identify the intruders or the two states targeted.

Reuters obtained a copy of the document after Yahoo News first reported the story Monday.

Accessing information in a voter database, much of which is publicly accessible, does not necessarily suggest an effort to manipulate the votes themselves. When registering, voters typically provide their names, home addresses, driver’s license or identification numbers, and party affiliations.

But U.S. intelligence officials have become increasingly worried that hackers sponsored by Russia or other countries may attempt to disrupt the presidential election.

Of course, blame Russia. Always Russia. It is entirely possible the hacks came from or through Russia but that does not mean Vladimir Putin or anyone else in the government had anything to do with them. Putin has enough to do trying to maintain the last vestiges of traditional life in his country against the onslaught of neo-Jacobin globalists. I sincerely doubt he cares which way the final elections of the former United States go.

To blame Russia seems self-serving for the corrupt power-mongers of Washington. Many in their ranks still see an opportunity to drag the Bear down with the rest of civilization. Others, sensing Slavic resistance to domination, want an outright war with Russia. Those are crazy enough to risk electoral security in an attempt to frame Putin. Your vote is a small price to pay.

And, remember, your vote really, truly means nothing. It is at beast a steering suggestion for the real electoral process. In an alternative universe every single voter will write in Gary Johnson only to see one of the major party shills elected.

This issue isn’t new. The FBI notes that there are existing cases of tampering with various state systems. Homeland Security sees it as a problem. However, the golfer in chief has flippantly brushed it all off as he does most problems.

brerfoxbear

Who you gonna trust here? Walt Disney.

That a government agency is ringing the bell here seems itself troubling to me. The government is already: a leading cause of terrorism in the world;  the largest drug dealer in the world; one of the largest illegal weapons suppliers in the Western Hemisphere, and; one of the largest traffickers of internet pornography in the U.S. Why, then, wouldn’t they also be the largest threat to their own crooked elections?

And that’s all there is to it. Br’er Fox is concerned about Br’er Wolf’s possible meddling in the scheme which, either way, will result in the election of Br’er Bear. None of these parties are trustworthy.

Yet and still, the people are a dizzy, preparing their sacrifices for Black Tuesday. I wish them well. When and if something does go wrong, they can always blame the Russians.

Those of you 100 or 1,000 years hence, please take note of this corruption. Please do not repeat the mistakes of the past. Assuming you are reading this, at least we didn’t go through with a war with Russia. Hope remains?

Advice for Writing and Publishing

A talented friend asked me how I do the crazy things I do. This was going to be an email to him. However, I thought it better to share with everyone. I suppose I can give this now. Sometimes its easier to give it than to live it. Do as I say!

Here are a few ideas:

Start a Blog

I use and recommend WordPress.WP allows for easy and professional startups. The base level is absolutely free. I pay a nominal fee to keep the “wordpress.” out of my page name and a few other perks. Next I will step up to the expensive level. Start small – and cheap. Just get started. There are other free hosts out there too.

Social Media

From WP you can link your posts to Facebook, Twitter, etc. This will help generate traffic and maybe build some new friends. Don’t forget LinkedIn.

Email List

They say for real on-line success one needs an email list – a go to group of dedicated followers. I spent a lot of time building mine this summer. I took it from about 20 people to almost 1,000. Sadly, I have not tested the system out. I will. I use Gmail which is okay for one to one emails. For a list there are vastly better options – MailChimp, Aweber, etc. Those cost money. Keep it simple (and free) to start.

Publishing

My friend has a wealth of historical knowledge he would like to share. There’s no reason he shouldn’t get paid to do it. One sure-fire way to do that is to publish a book:

Createspace

Createspace is Amazon’s professional publishing wing. Account setup is free and relatively easy. Converting, editing, and formatting everything takes a little work. However, the services are free and one can then directly upload to Amazon. These are books “available on demand”. Someone sees it, orders it and pays for it and CS prints a copy and mails it out. They also have other formats which I have not experimented with – audio, video, etc. For a fee they also have editing and design services.

You can make a book like this:

IMG_20151118_152219936

This is the way of the future – self publishing and Amazon. A few more years and traditional publishers and bookstores won’t exist. They are committing suicide.

CS is also a stepping stone to:

Kindle

Once one has a manuscript ready it can be converted to Kindle for ebook publishing and sale. This is not necessarily easy. I have one book in Kindle and the format is horrible. Worse, I have never gone back and fixed it yet. Learning curve here. One can also pay to have the formatting done. Otherwise the system is free. There are books available on the subject. I suggest reading them.

Amazon Tools

Once one has a book out, odds are people are going to find it on Amazon. Remember to set up an Author Page with links to your Blog posts.

PDF

There is a super easy way to make an ebook. Just convert a Word, WordPerfect, or Docs text to PDF and link it to your blog or email it. Freebies build business although it is possible to offer these for sale.

PayPal

Set up an account and use it to receive payments for the PDFs and other services offered until you can afford a real e-commerce system. Amazon and Kindle offer direct deposit for their sales of your work. PayPal also comes in handy for freelancing (see below).

Some Writing Resources

These are in no particular order and there are so many out there:

James Altucher offers a wealth of publishing tips and other inspiration. Read this.

The Write Life. All kinds of advice for all sorts of things.

That will do for now. If you have an idea or a question, don’t forget the Google.

Freelance Ideas

Independent contract work can be a great way to build business and make money. Many of these jobs can be found just by looking around. Then there are “content mills”. The mills are marketplaces where people look for work and companies look for talent. I list three of them below. I can’t really recommend using them because so much of what is offered is pure crap. However, the gems are out there. It’s just a matter of finding them.

As for my friend or really anyone, I would recommend searching hard within the author’s niche. I’ve stumbled into some great projects that fit my crazed topics and style. One might as well be happy when working.

Jobs for Bloggers

This is just a board published by ProBlogger. No account to set up; just communicate directly with projects by email or their sites. I’ve had the most success with this service. And jobs are posted daily and are searchable. Most pay by PayPal.

Freelancer

A true content mill with required setup. They frequently handle payment but they also take a cut. That’s also how it works at:

Upwork

They handle all payment issues in-house. I think it’s a slightly better system. A good deal of hassle and BS but you can search out what you’re looking for.

As I said there are many other resources. This is a gateway not only for writers, but also for speakers, artists, professionals, and anyone with something to offer. I hope it helps. Happy hunting.

ObamaCare: A Study in Failure (and a Surprise from Donald Trump)

Tags

, , , , , , , ,

Almost every week the news about Hussein Obama’s signature insurance company profit assurance program gets a little worse … if not wholly predictable. The Washington Post reports enrollment is off by ridiculous margins.

Not even half of the uninsured who were supposed to sign up have done so. They were supposed to enter into the new market exchanges with glee and secure “affordable” health insurance. They can’t because the coverage is not affordable. Premiums are skyrocketing as insurance companies race to make sure they can actually cover expenditures based on enrollment proceeds. These companies always make money and, if they don’t, they get out of a failing market.

More than a quarter of U.S. markets are failing. This leaves 1 out of 4 people with only one choice for coverage. And that coverage comes with a steep price, limited care options, and high deductibles. Failure, failure, failure.

The post notes that so many are not signing up because the related tax penalty isn’t working as planned. You recall that Obamacare was justified as just a tax and not as a draconian mandate that everyone must purchase something, needed (or wanted) or not.

I forgot that half of all Americans don’t pay any taxes to begin with. So the numbers kind of fit. Most of those folks are eligible for Medicaid or Medicare anyway. Thus, the burden and all the costs fall on We, the Middle Class People. Always our lot. Our red cross to bear.

I was going to pounce on the presidential candidates for not addressing the issue. With Hillary, there is no point. Her platform might be summarized as “Big government, cronyism, and failure.” If she likes her corruption, she will keep her corruption.

As for her personally, she is totally removed from the process. She and her cigar-probing husband make enough million$ in bribes and pay-offs from crooked corporations and foreign governments to pay for their own private doctors. If she were forced into an exchange, then the $20,000 she has received from the Ku Klux Klan this year would pay for any Obamacare plan.

Then I thought about Trump. Trump is obviously able to afford any doctor of his choosing. What is he saying about the national issue though? It occurred to me that I have never looked into his position on the matter. I thus read from his website and was a little surprised.

Republicans in general always say they want to repeal the law and then replace it with something else – something else sure to fail amid corruption. It’s important to remember than Obama’s program was based on Mitt Romney’s state program. A nationalization of a Massachusetts law was sure to fail – as it has.

Trump wants to repeal Obamacare immediately and then replace it … with free market competition. That’s amazing. Here’s his plan:

Congress must act. Our elected representatives in the House and Senate must:

Completely repeal Obamacare. Our elected representatives must eliminate the individual mandate. No person should be required to buy insurance unless he or she wants to.

Modify existing law that inhibits the sale of health insurance across state lines. As long as the plan purchased complies with state requirements, any vendor ought to be able to offer insurance in any state. By allowing full competition in this market, insurance costs will go down and consumer satisfaction will go up.

Allow individuals to fully deduct health insurance premium payments from their tax returns under the current tax system. Businesses are allowed to take these deductions so why wouldn’t Congress allow individuals the same exemptions? As we allow the free market to provide insurance coverage opportunities to companies and individuals, we must also make sure that no one slips through the cracks simply because they cannot afford insurance. We must review basic options for Medicaid and work with states to ensure that those who want healthcare coverage can have it.

Allow individuals to use Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Contributions into HSAs should be tax-free and should be allowed to accumulate. These accounts would become part of the estate of the individual and could be passed on to heirs without fear of any death penalty. These plans should be particularly attractive to young people who are healthy and can afford high-deductible insurance plans. These funds can be used by any member of a family without penalty. The flexibility and security provided by HSAs will be of great benefit to all who participate.

Require price transparency from all healthcare providers, especially doctors and healthcare organizations like clinics and hospitals. Individuals should be able to shop to find the best prices for procedures, exams or any other medical-related procedure.

Block-grant Medicaid to the states. Nearly every state already offers benefits beyond what is required in the current Medicaid structure. The state governments know their people best and can manage the administration of Medicaid far better without federal overhead. States will have the incentives to seek out and eliminate fraud, waste and abuse to preserve our precious resources.

Remove barriers to entry into free markets for drug providers that offer safe, reliable and cheaper products. Congress will need the courage to step away from the special interests and do what is right for America. Though the pharmaceutical industry is in the private sector, drug companies provide a public service. Allowing consumers access to imported, safe and dependable drugs from overseas will bring more options to consumers.

 – Trump campaign site.

His position almost looks like it was drafted by Ron Paul – except for the Medicaid provisions. Astounding.

I’ve been rather critical of Mr. Trump, saying that his potential tenure will likely be a disappointment. I’ve also said I hope he proves me wrong. It looks like he’s trying.

Such a simple plan would still be very hard to mandate. Powerful forces would (will) align to stop reform in Congress. The masses, still chasing the Pokemon, won’t understand any of it and cannot be counted on for any assistance. Still, the man is trying.

So it is that I start this week off with more of the usual, dismal happenings of Washington and yet with a little ray of hope.

I just discovered that a hawk is perched atop a neighbor’s house right now. Fitting. That’s me- hawkishly watching out for you.

Once the U.S. government has control of something it never, ever gives it up. That is, unless it has a really good, self-serving reason. Knowing this I ponder why the Hussein Obama administration is preparing to hand control over of the internet to someone else (likely the United Nations).

If the UN can be summed up in one word, that word is “communist”. A good adjective for “communist”, as it concerns the UN, would be “corrupt”. Fortunately, these may be modified (always) by “grossly incompetent”. Seriously, name one thing the UN has proved good at other than pitiful bumbling.

When the Obama administration announced its plan to give up U.S. protection of the internet, it promised the United Nations would never take control. But because of the administration’s naiveté or arrogance, U.N. control is the likely result if the U.S. gives up internet stewardship as planned at midnight on Sept. 30.

On Friday Americans for Limited Government received a response to its Freedom of Information Act request for “all records relating to legal and policy analysis . . . concerning antitrust issues for the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers” if the U.S. gives up oversight. The administration replied it had “conducted a thorough search for responsive records within its possession and control and found no records responsive to your request.”

It’s shocking the administration admits it has no plan for how Icann retains its antitrust exemption. The reason Icann can operate the entire World Wide Web root zone is that it has the status of a legal monopolist, stemming from its contract with the Commerce Department that makes Icann an “instrumentality” of government.

– L. Gordon Crovitz, The Wall Street Journal, August 28, 2016.

No, Mr. Crovitz, it is not shocking that this administration lies and then has no plan. That’s what they do. All they do. That’s their legacy.

How will this play out, if it comes to pass? That’s hard to say. It probably won’t mean much in the immediate future. The UN will likely search the globe for the highest bribes and then turn the internet over to the payor(s) of choice. Places like the U.S., Britain and Russia will probably see few ill effects for a while at least.

It may not matter at all. The internet hit its heyday some 10 years ago. Since then it has been getting slower and less responsive as more and more ads and other garbage float around constantly reducing speed and efficiency.

150203_un

UNinspiring…

The existing internet structure, invented in the U.S. though not by Albert Gore, has just about reached its limits. Plans are afoot for a speedier, bigger and better, market-based replacement. When the time comes I will upgrade if necessary.

There are a few constants in the universe: The UN is a failure. Hussein Obama has no idea what to do (other than prevaricate). And technology steams ahead. Let them RAM that in their ROM.

Come Out of the Churches, Thou Unclean Spirits

This title is a re-working of the command given one or two demons afflicting men of the Gergesenes. See: Matthew 8:28-34, Mark 5:1-17 (KJV). Previously the demons forced the men into violent isolation, making them a general nuisance and a menace. Jesus commanded their departure and they left.

I have no such innate power. Yet I see abundant evil – either demonic or of collectively self-inflicted free will – in much of modern life and society. I write about it frequently here and, now, in a few other forums.

demonpossession

TV Tropes.

Often I describe various phenomena as Hellish, Satanic, and demonic. These labels I truly mean and not just as attention getters. Manifestation of evil is everywhere: almost every action of every government; promiscuity of all sorts; debased, low “culture” in music, sports, and entertainment; pagan rituals; outright witchcraft; Satanic invocations at government meetings; reliance (dependence) on the enemies of Christ in life, civic, financial and educational; sloth as far as the eye can see (or stand to look). Worst of all is the false theology espoused by so many in the West – the replacement of God with the state and self-serving cotton-candy irreligious nonsense.

My friends in the Alt-Right describe this fake Christianity as “Churchianity”. It is the belief that by attending some rock and roll church and hearing sermons devoid of meaning that souls are somehow able to lead good, egalitarian lives. It is crippling the West, the very heart of Christendom. Once it shows signs of weakness the forces of evil pounce on it all the harder. It is weakened again and again. To the point of worse than worthlessness – it in fact becomes part of the evil itself.

As positive instruction it is noted that this has all happened before, even in the time of Christ and the Apostles. Jason Charles and Rev. Chuck Baldwin each wrote recently of the demise of so many churches in America, succumbing to the new theology of cultural Marxism (that really is nothing new).

Wrote Charles:

The Apostle Paul in Galatians 5:12 wished castration upon the doctrine perverting Judaized preachers of his day.

“I would they were even cut off which trouble you” Galatians 5:12 (KJV)
“As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!” Galatians 5:12 (NIV)

Neuter: A general term used to describe the castration of a male animal.

Can you imagine? An Apostle of Jesus Christ using this phraseology at all? But he did when addressing the usurping teachers that came in among the congregations of churches that he planted, especially in the Church of Galatia. To get the whole back-story read through Acts Chapter 5, and also read the entire book of Galatians. You will quickly realize he is talking about the Judaizers.

The reason why the Apostle Paul was vehemently opposed to these Judaizers was because in an ultimate sense, it was false doctrine that taught the superiority of the Mosaic Law over Christ. That meant it immediately became a salvation issue for Paul. Therefore he brought it to the wisdom and counsel of the other Apostles in Jerusalem, as seen in Galatians 5. At that counsel the Holy Spirit affirmed the total forsaking of the Judaizers among all congregations in no uncertain terms.

Baldwin notes that many (most?) American churches today are willingly held in line by their IRS 501 status. They dare not preach the actual gospel or analogize it to decadent American society for risk of losing money. Thus, they are little better than the emasculated Pharisees of Paul’s day.

These congregations and their cancerous leaders are to be shunned as they serve no purpose but to call into the world more evil. And the evil keeps coming in.

In addition to ample man-made malady, demonic activity and possession is on the rise across the globe. Wesley Baines interviewed Fr. Gary Thomas, a Vatican trained exorcist. Thomas explained that there is an increasing incidence of possession by fallen spirits which afflicts protestants and atheists as well as Catholics.

The Church has instituted elaborate procedures to ensure that a demon is really a demon rather than being merely a medical or physiological ailment. Once properly identified a demon is cast out by the Power of Christ similar to the above-cited original exorcisms.

Thomas notes that demons react violently to the sacred. I find it interesting that the demons described by Matthew and Mark knew immediately and without need of introduction who Jesus was. This is testament to their nature as well as reassurance of their eventual demise; He commanded and they were forced to obey.

Again, I have no such authority nor do you, except for protection and Grace granted by the Son. The time is now to use said faculty along with free discernment to exorcise from our society those perils of evil tradition. This starts be recognizing what has happened. Reflect on this and compare it to your experience this morning at your church; look around a the failed culture and think.

*Of interest also is the frequency of comments to the above-linked articles suggesting reliance on the Republican Party to cure the afflictions. This is beyond self-defeating as it places undue faith in a member of the viral swarm to cure the illness it helped cause. Political solutions there are not.

Civil Liberties Feel the Sting of the Police State

Nature’s stingray is an animal unassuming and yet not to be trifled with. One killed famed crocodile hunter Steve Irwin. The lesson for surviving around these beautiful fish is to leave them alone.

stingray-ocean-floor.jpg.adapt.945.1

National Geographic.

The police have a device, a surveillance tool, named after the humble stingray. This insidious peace of technological malice mimics cell-phone towers. It tricks your phone into communicating with it. Once a link is established the stingray can listen to and record conversations and search through stored data. All of this is generally accomplished without a warrant.

The ACLU is a mixed bag. On the one had they champion many causes which seem at odds with American societal fabric – or, at least the fabric of the of the former country. However, they also consistently target out of control police state tactics. Thus, they have an active, searchable map of which agencies have these devices and how they are used. Please consult the map to discover whether you might be at risk.

nimbus-image-1472321833204

American Civil Liberties Union.

WE, who value freedom, owe the ACLU for producing this service.

Efforts are afoot to legislate limit on how the Stingray and related machines are used. Most of those will fail. Even if they succeed, the technology will change and cause further problems.

Cellular transmissions are considered “open-air” and can usually be intercepted without a warrant. Technically, anyone with the right equipment could access the subject information. There are really only two ways to beat this terror. One, encrypt calls and information. This is difficult and increasingly illegal. The other way is to limit phone activity and to shield the phone from transmitting or receiving signals when not in use. This is possible but burdensome. There is a third way – don’t have a modern phone – but that is rather self-defeating.

For now, just beware that more and more criminal government agents are able to eavesdrop on you.

**I noticed the ACLU has an Election 2016 page. I looked at it. The first thing that caught my eye was this picture:

nimbus-image-1472322291187

ACLU.

Look at those two faces. This perfectly captures the essence of the Great Quadrennial Black Mass. Ha!

Of course, after the picture, the ACLU takes Hillary over Trump. That’s their right. I just love the sour-puss pictures.

Gunning Down Communism: American Women Shoot Straight

Tags

At the start of the Rio Olympics I hailed America’s first gold medalist, crack-shot Virginia Thrasher. This week I delved into the irrational fear of guns and hatred of freedom held by so many feminists. I find the total lack of praise for Ms. Thrasher from groups like NOW disconcerting though not unexpected.

Joe Briggs heaps the deserved praise on another American shooter – Kimberly Rhode. Rhode isn’t just world-class, she’s timeless. She is one of only two people out of 184,869 all time Olympians – and the only woman – to medal six times in six different games. You haven’t heard bout her because she wields a shotgun rather than a tennis racket or a soccer ball.

Kimberly Rhode is so well-known in shooting circles that the Winchester Repeating Arms Company of New Haven, Conn., developed a special shotgun shell just for her, with a load that reduces the recoil on her overtaxed right shoulder. Here’s a wow fact for you: Kimberly is one of only four people pictured on a Winchester ammunition box since the founding of the company in 1855. The other three are company founder Oliver Winchester, Teddy Roosevelt, and John Wayne.

Wow!

Kim-Rhode_001

Taki’s Mag.

One would think feminists would go crazy (crazier than normal) over such a standout athlete who is of their preferred sex. They don’t. They, like the communists in government, the lap-dog media, and the dishonest and useless IOC, hate guns. Guns equal free people and free people are bad for the plans those groups share.

Briggs also mentions another woman, Zhang Chan of China, who in 1992 demonstrated such incredible command of the shotgun as to upset the world order of shooting. She actually lived up the feminist’s little girl taunt “anything you can do, I can do better”. Silence from the left ensued.

These are great examples of guns being used, without revolution, to upset the new world order. We can all learn a little and be inspired by them. We need to praise our heroes and recognize our enemies.

Congratulations Ms. Rhode! Keep shooting for the stars – and at the commies.

Cigars Are Healthy: More Government Lies Debunked

Tags

, , , , , , , ,

Two of my major themes here are that I: 1) hate government in all its evil lowliness, and; 2) I love cigars. Today I have greater reason to champion both of these worthy ideas.

The FDA is waging all out war on the premium cigar industry. Stupid law after draconian regulation threaten to disrupt if not kill the family of the leaf. It’s all part of the government’s larger war on freedom. They hate us, seeing us as little more than cattle to be milked of taxes until we die. Die will shall some day but not due to our cigars.

Cigars are bad, lies the state, because of children and health and safety and other BS – all of it dead wrong. It seems that the FDA has in its possession an in-house study which shows there are no significant health risks associated with smoking 1 – 2 cigars per day. The study was an amalgam of multiple independent medical studies conducted between 1965 and 2000.

The study noted that all examined types of cancers and maladies were in some way associated with cigars – they found that people will eventually die of something. Most people know that anyway. However, the increased risk associated with cigars is negligible, almost nonexistent; it looks to be an average increase of about 1%.

That’s it. One percent and cigars are bad. Most scientists and statisticians will tell you about something known as the margin of error in studies like this. It may be that cigars actually impart zero risk.

Of course the government spun its finding – when it finally released them – in the typical dishonest official way. (Seems to me they’ve been hiding this information). They summarized their findings, saying that cigar smoking is associated with death. They left out the contributing percentages which, again, are effectively nothing.

Here are some of the statistically insignificant findings (note all the single digits and zeros):

nimbus-image-1472257910922

Heartland Institute.

None of this should come as a surprise, especially to the cigar community. Government is a giant lie personified; it is pure Satanic evil from Hell.

As part of the new cigar regulations which took effect at the beginning of the month, cigars now come with warning labels, such as:

  • Cigar smoking can cause cancers of the mouth and throat, even if you do not inhale.
  • Cigar smoking can cause lung cancer and heart disease.
  • Cigars are not a safe alternative to cigarettes.

Lies, lies, and more lies. Government needs its own “Government Warning” label.

And even this study only looks at health risks (none) and not health benefits. Cigars were prescribed for decades as medical treatment for a variety of illnesses, from asthma to anxiety. Cigar smokers tend to be happier people. Now there’s more reason to be happy.

So it is that my love of cigars is well justified – now by medical science. Also vindicated once more is my atavistic hatred of the dread institution of the state. In coming posts I may explore ways to deconstruct the menace of government. For now, I’m going to enjoy a healthy cigar.

IMG_20160717_185822817_HDR

Smoke on that, my friends.

By the way, I was serious:

GOVERNMENT WARNING: Government is a known leading cause of death, destruction, disinformation, theft, hatred, general misery and human suffering. To Hell with it.

I’d like to say hello to all of my new visitors and everyone around the globe.

So: Welcome! Welkom! Dobrodošli! Vítejte! Welkom! Tervetuloa! Bienvenue! Willkommen!  Yôkoso! and Sveiki atvykę!

This site is based in the United States. It frequently features themes of Western Civilization. Still, somehow, it has gained an audience around the world. I like to think of it as global madness. In the past four years I’ve had visitors from around 100 countries on six continents (not sure WordPress tracks Antarctica).

The other day I noticed that had the Anglosphere covered:

nimbus-image-1471997626345

I suppose NZ took that day off.

Then, later, I dug a little deeper. Here’s a recent comprehensive map:

nimbus-image-1472211137223

I think that one covers 91 countries. Not bad although I would love to pick up Iceland. China seems like a good market too. Sadly, I am not read in Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, or Somalia.

Being somewhat Amero-centric, the vast majority of my views come from my own nation. Surprisingly (or not) my next largest concentration is in and around the Caribbean. That would be my cigar friends. The DR and Nica account for more traffic than all of my third largest contingent – Europe.

Here are my top twelve countries:

nimbus-image-1472211277336

Hello out there! I have no idea how this site is translated abroad. Google I suppose. I’m just glad to have you.

I offer special greetings to my new preparedness audience. Preppers aim for freedom and that’s my main theme here, if one can overlook (or appreciate) cigar commentary and periodic zaniness.

What else? Through yesterday I had 686 live posts here. 687 now. My most popular category (and those are rather broadly defined) is “News and Notes”. The most frequently used “tag” is “America”. The most popular post for 2016 so far is A Den of Vipers and Thieves. I once knew the most popular post of all time but I have misplaced that…

2016 is already the biggest year yet and by December I look to surpass all previous years’ traffic combined. Thanks for being a part.

Your humble host,

Perrin
