THE REPORT (Warning: Contains disturbing photos)
This is terrible news, by any account.
At least five people were killed and several others were “gravely injured” in a shooting Thursday afternoon at the Capital Gazette in Anne Arundel County, authorities said.
A shooter is in custody, police said. Police would not name the suspect or say what type of weapon was used.
Anne Arundel County Police initially confirmed about 3:15 p.m. that they were responding to an “active shooter” at 888 Bestgate Road, where the newspaper’s offices are located. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also responded to the scene.
The Capital Gazette is owned by The Baltimore Sun.
This story by a Sun reporter (obviously) though run at the Gazette site. Few details at this point. I’ve heard it was a shotgun; nothing about the shooter. These things tend to change. It’s bad enough it happened at all, driven home for me the more as an attack on the media.
None of anti-GC quips today. Just this: Most of you know by now that, sarcasm aside, I never blame these things on violent video games. Yet, there is a tangential relationship in this case, at least as it was first reported to me. I took a snapshot of the Gazette story including the displayed video ad. Take a look:
Demon-eyed freak levels gun at the camera on a story about a real freak leveling a gun at a paper. “Learn more.” More coincidence than bad taste surely. And interesting.
An analysis you’re not likely to get on the MSM:
He hits hard on the mindless boilerplate calls for more gun control. No “AR-47” or “fully automatic assault clips” to blame here. And Crazy Uncle Joe Biden did tell everyone to get a shotgun… Anyone called for #pressurecookercontrol or #pipecontrol? No.
He notes the media lies about “a school shooting every week” and dismantles accordingly. BTW, according to the CDC, while you watched his video, about 72 lives were saved in the US by guns.
He notes something else I had noticed: the MSM communists keep talking about the iron cross pin but stay conspicuously silent about their paraphernalia (hammer and sickle, Baphomet, etc.). No one, that I’m aware of, has mentioned the LGBT+ rainbow heart pin this overweight, smelly, atheist loser was sporting. Interesting.
This kind of examination is unheard of in the media, radical if you will. Stefan’s solution is radical too: charging the parents. Something to consider if one can get away from blaming the NRA.
My solution is even more radical. It also addresses societal problems beyond the violence. If you want to abolish school shootings, then abolish the schools. Abolish. Public. Schools. Or convert them to something that works, something decentralized. Homeschoolers do not have these problems at all. And they don’t suffer the embarrassing statistics I mentioned yesterday: a 92% graduation rate with only 39% proficiency in English and 28% proficiency in math (at the subject TX school, which is about the US average).
I’m probably going to cover this in a video asap. For now, this is the best I’ve seen. All things to think about, if you’re into thinking.
Signs, signs, signs.
Some things we can all learn from this, turning tragedy into positive reinforcement. From FP today:
Even better now that the shooter is in custody. Many thanks to a hero.
*Any discombobulation in video is entirely the computer’s fault…
The YouTube shooting yesterday ended as well as it might have: several injuries but only one fatality – that of the crazed gunwoman.
I think all of my speculation may have been partly accurate. And then some – some crazy. This shooter may just be the most whacked out I’ve heard of, at least recently.
Gun control crowd, olive branch on this one: let’s cool the usual and just observe the odd reality that was. All else, play along here.
Let’s see what we have here… The strange thing is that, if one looks around thoroughly, one may just find something one agrees with, kind of. The rest? Yikes! And as with
most so many all of these types of cases, the shooter was known to authorities.
A pictorial guide to nuttery:
We’ve lost an icon, a first…
Mmmmkay, little truth there…
Serious as a gunshot…
Dime. They’re telling you they love you…
Cultural misunderstandings? BTW: I understand why YT might cut all of her videos.
A few drinks and maybe… Oh, not now, no…
There we go! That’s scary crazy without the gun!
Please leave YouTube alone. They’re not perfect but this isn’t the answer. I have a channel there – vested bias on my part.
No puns or platitudes or sarcasm was necessary for this one – no need. Just wow!
Y’all cool it and watch the Masters.
“Another law enforcement source confirms to ABC7 News reporter Dan Noyes that the shooter is a white, adult female wearing a dark top and head scarf.”
Almost all such shooters are initially reported as “white” though not usually female. Head scarf? Odd.
Is this the Digital Jihad ISIS called for?
Could it be a distraught woman who had too much of the SJW policies of big tech?
Could it be the SJWs of big tech?
Though they may get the blame this is probably not Dana Loesch and the NRA.
UPDATE: Or it could be DV. Reports have it a woman entered YTHQ, shot her boyfriend, and then killed herself. Thank God for VAWA. Probably closed case but developments possible…
Following the school shooting in Florida, the media, the idiot pols, and the hysterical mass media repeat the clamor to “Do something! Anything!” As with any any problem on Earth, the solution has to be another law, right?
In this particular case, let’s consider that:
The alleged shooter was on psych meds, like all school shooters;
He was expelled from the school for threats and violent behavior;
The police were called to his house 39 times! in a year;
The FBI received a tip he might be a potential school shooter and did nothing;
The subject school, like nearly all government schools, was a “gun free” zone;
A law to legalized lawful arms carry in “gun free” zones was shot down in FL last year;
In Florida, Wednesday, it was illegal to: bring a gun to a school; point a gun at any person; disrupt educational process; shoot people; commit murder … ;
As with all terrorist and most American felons, the shooter was previously know to authorities – this one was known to everyone from the teachers to the FBI.
What new law could have made any difference here? The even the odds Bill I mentioned the other day might have. About the only intelligent thing I’m hearing from any politician is the Broward County Sheriff, Scott Israel, calling for expanded Florida Baker Act provisions to temporarily detain potentially mentally ill criminals – before they act.
This case looks like the complete and utter failure of law and law enforcement.
Maybe it’s not the law. Maybe it’s the people. Something to think about.
The Pentagon separately disclosed that it had failed to furnish information about the gunman’s criminal record from his U.S. Air Force service to a national database that should have prevented him from legally purchasing the firearms he bought.
Failed. Should have. Legally. Tell me more about your government.
Stephen Willeford is the man who shot and chased the Texas gunman who killed 26 people in a Texas Baptist church on Sunday. Mr. Willeford shares the story of what took place during an interview with 40/29 News in Texas. Mr. Willeford tells what happened in one of the most riveting accounts ever. I have […]

At the start of the Rio Olympics I hailed America’s first gold medalist, crack-shot Virginia Thrasher. This week I delved into the irrational fear of guns and hatred of freedom held by so many feminists. I find the total lack of praise for Ms. Thrasher from groups like NOW disconcerting though not unexpected.
Joe Briggs heaps the deserved praise on another American shooter – Kimberly Rhode. Rhode isn’t just world-class, she’s timeless. She is one of only two people out of 184,869 all time Olympians – and the only woman – to medal six times in six different games. You haven’t heard bout her because she wields a shotgun rather than a tennis racket or a soccer ball.
Kimberly Rhode is so well-known in shooting circles that the Winchester Repeating Arms Company of New Haven, Conn., developed a special shotgun shell just for her, with a load that reduces the recoil on her overtaxed right shoulder. Here’s a wow fact for you: Kimberly is one of only four people pictured on a Winchester ammunition box since the founding of the company in 1855. The other three are company founder Oliver Winchester, Teddy Roosevelt, and John Wayne.
One would think feminists would go crazy (crazier than normal) over such a standout athlete who is of their preferred sex. They don’t. They, like the communists in government, the lap-dog media, and the dishonest and useless IOC, hate guns. Guns equal free people and free people are bad for the plans those groups share.
Briggs also mentions another woman, Zhang Chan of China, who in 1992 demonstrated such incredible command of the shotgun as to upset the world order of shooting. She actually lived up the feminist’s little girl taunt “anything you can do, I can do better”. Silence from the left ensued.
These are great examples of guns being used, without revolution, to upset the new world order. We can all learn a little and be inspired by them. We need to praise our heroes and recognize our enemies.
Congratulations Ms. Rhode! Keep shooting for the stars – and at the commies.
