The Trump Show

Today, along my travels, I caught bits and pieces of what happened last night at the GOP Convention and Sideshow. Thankfully, I was able to ignore most of it. Something about Michelle Obama’s “the children are our future” speech? Blah.

Tonight I walked by a TV and heard 10 to 12 words from one Paul Ryan. He was saying something about Trump’s new job as President. Ryan needs to focus on keeping his job – looks doubtful right now (which would not be a bad thing for us). I walked back by and Chris Christie was blocking out the whole screen. Old Bridge Tolls was condemning Hillary “Classified Emails” Clinton. Pot, kettle.

I didn’t want to wait for any of the false promises and rah-rah. So I came here to blog-land.

How many times can people be duped? How many times can they cry wolf? Or “conservative”? Not much to conserve now, is there?

I ain’t buying any of it. Come next year and in the years that follow, some of you are in for a rude awakening. Then, sooner or later, you’ll again fall for more lies. I’ll be smoking a cigar, maybe fishing.

This week The Donald unveiled his VP pick – Indiana Governor Mike Pence. I really know nothing of Pence except that he is a “Tea Party” Republican, whatever that has come to mean. The people I know who support Trump and many media outlets seem okay with the choice. It is what it is.

One thing I know is that if one says “Trump Pence” together and rapidly it sounds like “trumpets”. Trumpets heralding a new age … of more of the same, I suspect.

It will be great when November comes and goes and gives us peace for a short while from this circus side-show of an election. When will they start the rush for 2020? March of next year? June? Until then, enjoy the trumpets.

Great. Now three countries are warning their citizens to avoid the U.S. or at least exercise caution when visiting us: the Bahamas, the UAE, and Bahrain.

The United States regularly issues travel warnings urging Americans to either avoid or exercise caution in countries marred by violence or political instability.

Now America is the focus of concern by foreign governments in the Middle East and Caribbean as protesters marched in U.S. cities throughout the weekend after police killed black men in Louisiana and Minnesota.

Is this how they see us? PBS/Twitter.

I wonder if it’s the violence they’re worried about or could it be the political instability. Even if everyone got along swimmingly and the police were as gentle as doves with all, we still have the Hillary/Trump thing working against us. Then again, a civilized, critically thinking, and non-violent people wouldn’t keep dredging up loser after loser for high office.

Hmmmmph….

Zootopia:A Movie Fit For A Prince

Most movies do not appeal to me. I generally take in the theater at the suggestion of and in the company of my daughter. Before I get into this column let me review the movies I’ve seen lately.

Captain America: Civil War. Rated, by me: B. It was okay as both a superhero movie and as libertarian commentary about obeying your conscious rather than rote orders. Okay it was.

Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. B-. Not bad but not what I’d (we’d) hoped for. Batfleck was awesome! Henry plays a good Supes. Wonder Woman was stunning – the 3 minutes we got of her. There was way too much filler.

The Hobbit: Part Whatever. F. The ghost of Tolkien is looking for Peter Jackson right now like a Nazgul on a ring thief.

Star Wars, Episode Too Many, A New New Hope. C. A PC remake of the original with a wimpy Darth Vader and a bigger Death Star.

Then, just the other day, I ventured into Zootopia. Every once in a while the Disney machine gets one right. I actually enjoyed it! A! It’s no wonder Rotten Tomatoes rated it 98% fresh. Fresh carrots, here, I suppose. Like Star Wars it reminded me of something – not another, older movie about a mammalian metropolis – I recalled a book about political theory.

Disney.

The animation, acting (voice acting) and the flow were all top-notch. The plot was well-developed and unfolded with a suspenseful, surprising rhythm.

Judy Hopps is a small-town bunny with big dreams of becoming a police officer in the big city. She defies the odds and makes the force – the very first rabbit officer. Starting day one she learns all kinds of lessons. She quickly develops her street smarts and cracks the big case.

The city population is roughly 90% herbivores and 10% carnivores. Lately, about a dozen of the carnivores have gone missing. Judy’s sleuthing, aided by a crafty street fox, leads her to their location and a major surprise.

All of the citizens of Zootopia have gotten along fine since forever but there is a lingering , maybe unspoken fear the meat-eaters might, just might go wild. They do. It turns out the missing predators have all mysteriously started acting like wild, violent animals; they go primal. The mayor, a politician’s politician of a lion, realizes what may be happening and has them locked away in a research facility on the outskirts of town.

He and his co-conspirators are arrested. Judy is a hero. But … there is still the problem of the wilding predators. Is it the start of an epidemic? Fear begins to take hold in the city. In the end there is a rational, if uncanny explanation for the savage behavior – the predators have been unwittingly poisoned.

The case is solved. The poison victims are cured. Everyone lives happily ever after and learns important (yes, PC) lessons about inclusion, not jumping to conclusions, and the civilized necessity of overlooking illogical prejudices. Judy’s street fox friend becomes the force’s first fox officer and they end the movies as partners. In and of itself, that would make for a happy ending to a great movie with some pretty decent morals. It’s not just a cutesy animal movie. It features significant societal commentary.

Here’s my special social commentary, all derived from the manner in which the poisoning of the predators was revealed. What was that political book I was reminded of? It was The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli.

Mayor Lionheart’s deputy was an over-worked, under-appreciated sheep. She masterminded the whole predator poisoning, banking on the mayor’s secretive, illegal handling of the matter. It almost paid off for her. She assumed the role of mayor just in time to feed on the city’s (false) fears of a savagery outbreak. The whole missing and drugged carnivore scheme was a false flag event. It was the same kind of deceptive power-play described time and again in The Prince.

Disney.

Given the politically correct undertones of the movie (to me, harmless), one may safely describe the deputy mayor as a “social justice warrior” (SJW) of the lowest kind. She carefully crafted the false flag and manipulated the people in order to gain power – Machiavellian! I even saw Vox Day’s three rules of SJW behavior in action: the story about the predators was a lie; they (Mayor Sheepy and her accomplices) doubled down to save face and hold onto power at nearly any cost, and; they tried to project their insecurity onto Judy.

So, in the very end, Judy ended up cracking an even bigger case, a case of treason. The ultimate moral of the tale is to not trust the government even if you’re a part of it – especially if you are a decent civil servant like Judy.

“It’s called a hustle, sweetheart.” – Judy Hopps, Zootopia.

“Never attempt to win by force what can be won by deception.” – Niccolo Machiavelli, The Prince.

One more thing – two more things…. Disney did the latent comedic elements flawlessly. They featured an overweight, donut-grazing, goofball tiger of a desk sergeant at police HQ. Classic. And, in Zootopia the DMV office is run by … sloths. Perfect! Old Walt would own this one.

Disney.

BREXIT! It’s Like 1776 for the Brits

So often we in the freedom movement have to sit back, reassess, and deal with another loss and heartbreak: Ron Paul is never going to be President; the gold standard is a thing of the past; the gun grabbers keep coming back like Russian wolves in a savage winter. Then something like this happens …

BREXIT!

They did it. If one looks at the polling maps it becomes clear – the peasants rose up and told London, Brussels, Washington, and the rest of the globalist elites to “bugger off!”

BloombergBloomberg. The map shows it was the urban areas that supported the EU. I think that Ireland and Scotland will come around as things improve. If not, I support their independence as well, even if that means foolishly surrendering it back to the EU.

And, off they’ll bugger. David Cameron has announced he will resign by October so that Britain may have a British Prime Minister – likely Boris Johnson.

nimbus-image-1466766461744.png

I’d pick Farage as the next PM. BBC.

The fear-mongers may be right in the very short term. The DOW futures are down 500+ points right now. There may be growing pains but this is a CORRECTION – that’s what happens. The excesses of EU stupidity need to be corrected. I predict in a few years Britain will be head and shoulders above the Continent. The invader … “refugees” should start packing now; the Caliphate will not include the British Isles. “Lord” Rothschild and his evil brood need to follow them out.

It’s a great time for the English! May this serve as inspiration for other oppressed peoples. I don’t just mean in Europe. In addition to FREXIT and GEREXIT, how about TEXIT, GAEXIT, and NHEXIT!

God save the Queen! God save England!

Viernheim: Another Lesson on Gun Control

Today, while people in Britain pondered BREXIT, people in Viernheim, Germany tried to take in The Jungle Book at the local cinema. Their plans were interrupted.

A gunman was shot dead by police in Germany on Thursday after he attempted to take several people hostage in a cinema.

In what appeared to be a remarkable police operation, none of the hostages were injured.

The German authorities said the gunman, who has not been identified, was “disturbed” and there was no initial evidence of a link to terrorism.

But police were reportedly investigating an explosive vest and a hand grenade found on his body to see if they were genuine.

There was no word on the hostage-taker’s ethnicity or background. Witnesses described him as being between 18 and 25 years old.

He was armed with a “rifle or long gun” and reportedly fired four shots in the air as he entered the cinema in Viernheim, a small town south of Frankfurt.

  • Telegraph

The good news is twofold: no innocents were killed; the shooter was. Multiple media sources (not many in the U.S. though) were adamant the shooter, while not yet identified, had no initial ties to terrorist organizations. Just a man with a suicide vest, a grenade, and a rifle. Just a disturbed man of unknown origins on a shooting spree.

Someone should relay this story to John Lewis and his idiot friends currently occupying the House floor in support of gun control. That way they can urge the Germans to adopt “common sense” gun control. There obviously isn’t any restriction on firearms in Jerry-Land or else this incident could not have happened.

Some good guys with guns who stopped a bad guy with a gun. Telegraph/Facebook.

Oh wait… Germany has some of the strictest gun control measures in the world. Modern efforts to disarm citizens dates to 1919 and the Treaty of Versailles. Hitler was a huge proponent of gun control – for certain people. Post-WWII, the East Germans found themselves under Stalinesque tyranny, including more gun controls. The current German Weapons Act came into effect in the 1970s and has been getting more restrictive as time goes by. Germany is also the only place in the world where those seeking a (hard-to-get) firearms permit must undergo psychiatric examination. That’s one of the insane ideas the American left has thrown around at their child-like sit-ins. None of it worked today.

Germany has also recently welcomed over 1 Million third-world “refugees”. The country is a hot-bed of terrorist ideology and action. The way I see this attack: it was either an ISIS hit gone awry, and/or: it was a failure of German gun control. Either way it won’t help the intellectual descendants of Hitler and Stalin in their attempt to create unarmed subjects out of armed, law-abiding citizens.

Randy Forbes Gets the SHAFTA

NAFTA, CAFTA, SHAFTA (ObamaTrade) are programs foisted upon the public by Congress and the Whitehouse under the guise of “free trade”. They’re really about money for large corporations and lost prosperity and jobs for the people. I wrote about ObamaTrade a few times last year as it secretly passed through congress like a wraith.

Do you like secrecy, unregulated bank power, and Washington control of … everything? Like your job? Hate it? Want to give it to some H1-B foreigner? If so, you’ll love H.R. 1314. It covers the globe where NAFTA and CAFTA left off.

SHAFTA just claimed a deserving victim – Congressman Randy Forbes (R-VA).

The populist uprising against phony “free trade” and Republicans who love it has taken its first scalp.

Rep. Randy Forbes, GOP establishment stalwart and longtime Obamatrade supporter from Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District, will soon be unemployed. Voters rejected him in favor of his primary opponent Scott Taylor, who stridently opposed Obamatrade.

Taylor blasted Forbes for voting to give President Obama fast track authority to ram through Congress the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a sweeping 12-nation international regulatory pact that would merge our economy with some of the poorest and most repressive on earth.

This move was especially hypocritical for Forbes, chairman of the House Prayer Caucus. Obamatrade would give special economic privileges to countries that persecute Christians, including Vietnam, Malaysia and the Shariah-law regime of Brunei.

After his disastrous vote for fast track, Forbes tried to tap dance around the Constitution-shredding, religious-liberty-trampling Obamatrade agreement.

  • OBAMATRADE COST GOP CONGRESSMAN HIS JOB, Curtis Ellis, World Net Daily, June 17, 2016.

Dance on out the door, jackass. Begone! Good riddance. I’m glad to see the voters in at least one district are awake and a little angry. Let’s hope and pray this spreads.

Gun Control: The Great Divide (Over Nothing)

Mass shootings, terror attacks, and assassinations always prompt a heated national “discussion” on the matter of firearms and firearms control (the private ones, mind you). As with any important issue there are many competing ideas and angles though there are two predominant groups that get attention – pro-gun control and anti-gun control. While I am solidly in favor of the private ownership and use of firearms, my anarchist disposition gives me a unique, almost outside view.

As I see the current debate one side, the gun controllers, really want a complete ban on all private firearms though they present their ideology in terms of “responsible”, incremental measures designed only to ensure safety. The other side, the NRA side, nominally defends the Second Amendment while agreeing to many of the same incremental controls sought by the other side. I see both groups ultimately seeking to use the power of government to advance their own agendas and the agenda and existence of the government itself. They are both allied with the state. I have no use for any of them.

Some of the gun grabbers are blatant about their ultimate aim – Rolling Stone called for the repeal of the Second Amendment. Other grabbers pretend to agree that individuals have the right to keep and bear arms while insisting that those arms never be used for defensive purposes.

The main problem with the notion of self-defense is it imposes on justice, for everyone has the right for a fair trial. Therefore, using a firearm to defend oneself is not legal because if the attacker is killed, he or she is devoid of his or her rights. In addition, one’s mental capacity is a major factor in deciding whether a man or woman has the right to have a firearm.

The author of this insane Huffington Post statement wants to alter, rather than abolish, the 2A in order to nullify it. The author takes into account only those relatively few crimes committed and lives lost to the illegal use of guns. Considered in totality, privately owned guns save far more lives every day and every year than they take. Then again, by this man’s standards, each such lawful defensive usage constitutes a deprivation of the original aggressor’s right.

The only thing I can think of to attempt to justify this kind of logic is that this fellow obviously worships the government as a god and regards laws as a religion. Like a Natural Law theorist, he seeks to conform all positive law to the designs of and the adoration of his god. He would happily place the primacy of the state over the lives of human beings. He is a statist’s statist. Some on the other side do a good job of refuting this nonsense:

We have a government here that is heedless of its obligation to protect our freedoms. We have a government that, in its lust to have us reliant upon it, has created areas in the U.S. where innocent folks living their lives in freedom are made defenseless prey to monsters—as vulnerable as fish in a barrel. And we have mass killings of defenseless innocents—over and over and over again.

How dumb are these politicians who want to remove the right to self-defense? There are thousands of crazies in the U.S. who are filled with hate—whether motivated by politics, self-loathing, religion, or fear. If they want to kill, they will find a way to do so. The only way to stop them is by superior firepower. Disarming their law-abiding victims not only violates the natural law and the Constitution but also is contrary to all reason.

All these mass killings have the same ending: The killer stops only when he is killed. But that requires someone else with a gun to be there. Shouldn’t that be sooner rather than later?

The NRA is the poster child of the pro-Second Amendment movement. They are vilified by the New York Times:

What makes the legislative inaction all the more maddening is that there is general public agreement in favor of attempts like these to reduce the bloodshed. An overwhelming majority of Americans — including gun owners and even N.R.A. members — support universal background checks, while strong majorities want to block sales to suspected terrorists and ban high-capacity magazines.

And yet the N.R.A. rejects these steps, even though it says that terrorists shouldn’t be able to get guns. Instead, it clings to the absurd fantasy that a heavily-armed populace is the best way to keep Americans safe. That failed in Orlando, where an armed security guard was on the scene but could not stop the slaughter.

There is no truth to any of this dribble from the fallen Gray Lady. The worst of the lies is that the NRA is complicit with terrorism and that it blocks those “common sense” gun control measures. It does not. The NRA seems more than happy with the bulk of the existing gun control measure – all of them unconstitutional. While the NRA backs lawsuits to overturn various local measures, they roundly accept the Gun Control Act and the National Firearms Act. Both of these laws treat all Americans like criminals and bar the easy or economical possession of the type of weapons actually protected by the Second Amendment.

The NRA also agrees with the opposition regarding the expansion of watch lists – to exclude terrorists from the gun pool of course, and no more… Their own words on the matter:

Fairfax, Va.— The executive director of the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action, Chris W. Cox, released the following statement regarding terror watchlists:

We are happy to meet with Donald Trump. The NRA’s position on this issue has not changed. The NRA believes that terrorists should not be allowed to purchase or possess firearms, period. Anyone on a terror watchlist who tries to buy a gun should be thoroughly investigated by the FBI and the sale delayed while the investigation is ongoing. If an investigation uncovers evidence of terrorist activity or involvement, the government should be allowed to immediately go to court, block the sale, and arrest the terrorist. At the same time, due process protections should be put in place that allow law-abiding Americans who are wrongly put on a watchlist to be removed. That has been the position of Sen. John Cornyn (R.-Tex.) and a majority of the U.S. Senate. Sadly, President Obama and his allies would prefer to play politics with this issue.

This statement places the NRA (and Donald Trump by association) in the same position regarding gun control as Senate Democrats and the Obama administration – though the Executive seems a little at odds with itself as to how the proposed list measures would be (will be) implemented. Proposals to expand the “no-fly” list to cover firearms purchases has even drawn the ire of the ACLU as the list procedures (as they exists and as proposed) violate fundamental due process.

The NRA, Donald Trump, Hussein Obama, and their friends are all wrong. There is no due process at all concerning these controls. The new Senate proposal, S.551, mentions due process protection and then negates it in the same paragraph.

The government really has no dog in this fight as it is the primary creator and enabler of terrorism today. If not for the unceasing meddling and misadventure of the state there wouldn’t be any terrorists in our nation to worry about and no need for any lists nor for gun control.

A former CIA agent admits the government and the elites are the problem:

A former CIA counterterrorism agent has said it is time to talk about why terrorism really happens, and to address the “misguided narratives” that lead to oversimplification of the situation and continued war.

Amaryllis Fox worked on counterterrorism and intelligence in the CIA’s clandestine service for ten years. She told AJ+ that the beliefs surrounding terrorism are “stories manufactured by a really small number of people on both sides, who amass a great deal of power and wealth by convincing the rest of use to keep killing each other.”

Fox says the current conversation about Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in the US “is more oversimplified than ever.”

“Ask most Americans whether ISIS poses an existential threat to this country and they’ll say yes. That’s where the conversation stops,” she said.

Her observation echo what H.L. Mencken said about the government’s imaginary hobgoblins a century ago. Hitler concurred that terrorism (real or manufactured) is the best way to keep people panicked and, therefore, controlled. Gun control is about people control. Terrorism, war, and government in general are about creating and maintaining power for a few. It’s that simple. That’s what they’re working towards.

And, they are working hard. After Washington stirs up an already volatile region in begins to import the angered locals into America. Some really are hapless refugees. Others are terrorists – as the CIA admits. Oddly … or not, many of the recent notable terror suspects in America have had some ties to the CIA. This should raise serious questions and red flags about the state’s motives and how those motives negatively affect the rest of us – but it doesn’t. The bulk of the discussion put forward by either side of the political divide or by the government itself is: what else can the government do?

What they are doing is just more of the same. The people keep seeing their freedoms chipped away. The elites keep amassing power. The useless laws grow. The attacks, foreign and domestic, continue. They unvetted “refugees” keep pouring in – over 400 from Syria alone – since the Battle of Orlando this past weekend.

The horror and the comedy of the divide is how pointless it all is. Until the ridiculous, blasphemous, and hellish cult of government is dealt with, none of it matters.

This evening I sat down for an interview with the most delightful personality in politics, Frank the Frog.

_20160428_211040

Frank reposes at the study window.

Mr. Frog disclosed a great deal of his aspirations and campaign platform to me. I will post either a transcript or a dissection (oops, sorry Frank) in the near future. Rest assured this composed gentlefrog makes more sense than anything who might have heard from the alleged “front-runners”. Here is but a glimpse of the ingenious insights and plans Frog has for our nation:

The Economy: Frank says, “The fly industry is suffering. Frogs…people are suffering. We need more flies.”

Immigration: Says Frog, “[They] come to America for flies. Like moths to a flame – except it is with flies.”

Terrorism: Frog declared, forcefully, “We will defeat the Serpentine Peril! … We will make this a safer, more be-flied world.”

The new Twenty Dollar Bill: “Why not a green face for a greenback? Why not Kermit?”

The Election: Pondered Frank, almost to himself, “You’re going to waste your vote. Waste it on me.”

I truly wish I had time to bring you more now but you will have something to look forward to! Prepare to forget all about Hrump or Trillary or whoever.

Frog humbled me with a special request. He wants me to help him complete and publish his manifesto, Frankly Speaking. Turns out he is too small to properly operate a keyboard. We laughed. To say I am honored would be an understatement.

Stay tuned to this miraculous development in an otherwise dead-as-usual election cycle.
