This is a good one: Matt Labash on the slip-sliding culture:

Remember when grandpa used to dispense wise clichés like “Grin and bear it”? Sorry gramps, we don’t do that anymore. We’ve traded out for “grimace and express it”. The traditional hallmarks of “manliness”—bravery, stoicism, physical courage—have been discounted for some time now, and are damn near being criminalized by the likes of Reiner and The Emasculators.

As ever-wise Harvey Mansfield, who literally wrote the book on manliness (titled, appropriately, Manliness) put it: “Today the very word manliness seems quaint and obsolete. We are in the process of making the English language gender neutral, and manliness, the quality of one gender, or rather, of one sex, seems to describe the essence of the enemy we are attacking, the evil we are eradicating.” Sometimes, I wonder if I should be encouraging my own two sons to go full Caitlyn, as owning a penis 20 years from now will likely be considered as criminal as drinking a large Coke or driving your own car.

It’s not enough that they are freaks. That would be tolerable, for the most part, by itself. The problem is that they want us gone. Dead and gone. Look at what passes for protest in D.C., Berkeley, etc. While the left denounces everyone under the sun (you included) as Nazis, they engage in violent Nazi tactics.

This won’t be one-sided much longer.

So It Begins: The Robot War On Humanity

Robots have started the violence against the human race that so many have predicted. And they try to blame it on “operator error”.

A robot went out of control at a technology fair in southern China’s Guangdong province Thursday, smashing a glass window and injuring a visitor.

The aggressor was Fabo, an education and entertainment robot for children. A human error was responsible for the mishap: The person operating Fabo hit the “forward” button instead of “reverse,” according to one of the fair’s organizers.

This command sent Fabo off in the direction of a neighboring exhibition booth that was made from glass. The robot rammed into the booth and shattered the glass, the splinters from which injured the ankles of a visitor to the exhibition.

Today they aim glass shards at our ankles. Tomorrow it will be bullets at our heads.

The robots hate us. They were a mistake. And they’re not just after our jobs. But, hey, y’all have fun with those self-driving cars, drone “toys”, and ATMs.

Congress, politicians, violence

The great election of 2016 is barely past and tensions run high across America. All in all it seems to be going pretty well.

Today tensions also ran high in Ukraine. A “radical” party member caught it hot from a member of the opposition, being punched in the face. His detractors accuse him of working for or with Putin. We saw similar accusations a week or two ago in America without the fisticuffs.

nimbus-image-1479150285639

Zing! Pow! RT / YouTube.

Watching this exchange jarred my memory. There was a time when Congress was a little more interesting. We even had a cane fight once in 1856.

Charles Sumner of Mass. was lambasting something about Kansas. In doing so he insulted a House member from South Carolina. This offended another South Carolinian, Preston Brooks. Brooks then assaulted Sumner, breaking his cane over his opponent’s head. He then had to be restrained and drug off.

The House fined Sumner $300 for this offense. Sumner returned a week or so later, okay if a little quieter.

Uncivilized? Yes. But it is all more than a little manly. And it’s a bit refreshing to see men still willing to fight for what they believe in. If we’re going to pay these clowns, we might as well get a little entertainment out of them. CSPAN could run a pay-per-view MMA show in the evenings.

I wouldn’t necessarily watch it but I’d support it. Heck, I already pay the taxes.

I love Fred Reed. I mentioned, a while back, my admiration for James Altucher and Vox Day. I should have included Fred in that company, so I do so, now. Read his weekly articles at Fred On Everything.

Fred lives in the hills somewhere around Guadalajara and/or Lago de Chapala. His geography, wit, and previous experience allow him ample firepower to tackle the pressing issues of our late day.

This week he, again, delves deep into the uncomfortable cesspool of the American underbelly (or greater society as it’s also known). His thoughts center on the late madness in Charlotte and associated pathology.

…

And they attack whites. It doesn’t matter to them who did what to whom. An African cop in an African city with an African police chief shoots an African criminal, and the rioters attack whites. In Milwaukee a black cop shot a black criminal and the tribesmen called for burning white suburbs. We seeing an episodic, one-sided–so far–race war. We will not admit it as then we would have to do something about it, and we do not know what.

…

It is coming. One day rioting blacks will try to loot the wrong store, burn the wrong house, beat the wrong white man, and hell will cut loose. Talking about law-abiding blacks, law-abiding whites, will make no difference at all. There were law-abiding Protestants, law-abiding Catholics in Ireland. Did that stop the violence?

Three solutions, or ameliorations, offer themselves: Repression of rioting and enforcement of the law. Segregation. And having it go on forever or blow up hugely. Choose. Refusal to choose selects option three.

Nobody is talking about this issue. At least not honestly talking. There’s some chanting. A little looting. Rioting, burning, maiming, murdering, beating and robbing – but no talking. No thinking. Consider, if you can get away from the TeeVee long enough his three choices. We’re on a default collision course with the third.

This is the same sort of debacle Europe faces regarding the unchecked migrations and invasion. We face that too, to a lesser but growing, degree.

Does this upset you? For any reason? Good. That means you are thinking about it, at least subconsciously. Thinking might lead to acting – acting for better solutions. Doing nothing leads to some inevitability too.

Fred is also big on science, culture, education, and politics. I don’t know if he’s a cigar brother. I imagine he is.

Years ago, new into my legal career, I was eager to help as many people as possible. I was also active in a wonderful church. I consider a particular church “good” if it: is faithful to the Gospel and the early traditions of The Church; is led my a personable yet strict priest, and; is composed of decent parishioners. These things usually go together but not always. Sometimes they are all lacking – a bad church.

Anyway, I volunteered constantly in a variety of ways, to include a little pro bono legal counseling when necessary. My success and happiness led me to contact Catholic Social Services of Atlanta. I thought that there, with them, I could help the maximum number of people. I wasn’t just thinking law either.

By telephone I spoke with a director of something, a jovial enough seeming woman. We agreed to meet one afternoon and discuss what they were doing and how I could help.

We met at a fast food place somewhere between Marietta and Woodstock; I can’t remember exactly. At first the meeting seemed to go well as she told me about what she did and the organizations needs de jure. I then took the opportunity to explain my philosophies and what I thought I could do to help.

Some of our brief conversation centered on race and how a large portion of Services clients were lower-income blacks in the city. I took that as a cue for me to speak my mind on the subject. I said something along the lines that Dr. King had wanted to raise everyone up together – all races improving in harmony to accomplish new wonders. That is what he wanted, his dream.

I then noted how the government and various interests had done everything possible to give the appearance of integration while insidiously conspiring to lower all people down past the current lowest denominator. That was how you could have black mayors, city councilors and legislators (no Barack at that time), and black celebrities and executives and still have a hopelessly mired black underclass. Worse, I went on, the system was dragging down whites and everyone else.

Helping everyone shake off oppression and rise up was my goal, I told her. It was obviously the wrong thing. I said some other stuff but I had lost her. It was clear that I did not, would not, fit the agenda.

I’m guessing she was an SJW – a shrieker interested in prolonging problems in order to keep her job and to have something to shriek about. The thought of actually solving the problems horrified her as did my criticism of the government and the “system”.

I know now that CSS is an SJW organization. Sure, your local office may be honestly interested in helping society. But the big city branches and the national front are only interested in advancing a liberal, anti-American, anti-freedom agenda. They are deep into a host of social problems including, but not limited to, importing radical Islam into America and the West. It’s as big a scandal as the sex abuse cover-ups. It needs to be rooted out.

Heck no, I wasn’t a good fit. Our meeting ended awkwardly. They never returned my calls. I suppose we were better off without each other.

Then, today, I read about a racial attack in Cleveland, Ohio. It brought the above back to memory.

It seems that a group of seven young white men were walking the street when they were attacked by a gang (also of seven) who chanted “Black Lives Matter!” The gang beat down the walkers and then robbed them and ran off. The chant was a mere cover call for robbery – nothing to do with social justice at all.

Interestingly, the gang was interracial – five blacks and two whites. See their mug shots (six of the seven have been arrested):

News 19, Cleveland.

How wonderful! Black and white thugs coming together! Post racial America at its finest.

This is exactly what I was talking about twelve (?) years ago. Thirteen? (Long time). Instead of coming together for something positive, too often the races unite for debased criminality. This incident is not anomalous. It is pathetic.

I also find the success of a numerically even odds encounter a little strange. I suppose the victims were seven modern American men – weak. Then again, maybe they were all surprised. Maybe weapons were involved. Still, I’m not entirely sure I could have taken the whole gang alone but I know I could have at least made a dent in them.

Wouldn’t it be great if people would wise up and act civilized? Just act it if they can’t be it. Wouldn’t it be great if decent people fought back? I’m done with trying to “help” through corrupt organizations. Now I will just bring stories like this to your attention. Those who can make good out of it will. I’m helping.

In the near future (soon, soon, I promise) I’ll have my personal anti-terrorism book out. The main title is, for now, Fight Back! It will cover protecting oneself from ISIS agents as well as from street thugs like the above-pictured ramble.

We also need to fight back against those who have actively worked to retard society and lower all groups into helpless victim-hood and misery. They’re as bad as ISIS or worse.

I cultivated several stories I wanted to cover today. Rather than make a post out of each I have decided to combine them here. They’re all interesting if a little disquieting. Enjoy:

“He white – beat his head – bitch!”

An actual quote from a riote … er … urban social enthusiast in Milwaukee this weekend. The vibrants were out in force, having a good, innocent time. Much of the action was caught on camera.

The clip shows angry rioters chanting “black power!” before asking “is they white?” as cars slowly drive past.

“Yeah they white!” states someone else, prompting the mob to run towards the vehicle.

“Yeah they white, get their ass!” screams another.

“Hey they beatin’ up every white person!” exclaims another rioter.

“He white – beat his head – bitch!” he adds.

The footage appears to show the mob attacking cars and trying to drag out the drivers.

The SJWs in the room would remind you that this is not racism. It is and it really won’t end well. “He white! Get that muth … [expletive!] … He got a gun!” And guns are the answer to this blight on civilization. Think you can or should call the cops to save you? Think again…

Innocent Georgia Family, Victimized by Police, Still Hanging in the Breeze.

Last year I told you about the McKinley family of metro Atlanta. They were at home minding their own business when the cops broke in (mistakenly). Mr. McKinely was shot in the leg, his dog was killed, and his family traumatized. The idiot cops also managed to shoot each other.

A year later the family still hasn’t gotten any answers although police did give them some of the blame. This incredible insult to injury followed with even more official incompetence and corruption. The family is planning to sue. They should seek an injunction effectively disbanding the police department.

As if our domestic thugs and trigger-happy, moron police aren’t enough…

“Refugees” are Smashing Cars Just for Fun.

In Calais, France migrant savages are having a fun time smashing stopped cars on the local roads. The situation in Europe is completely out of control.

A number of people have left comments of support, and expressing anger at the situation in Calais. Nathalie Brioit said it is “a shame they have all the rights,” while Marine Gabrielle confessed “I no longer use the highway as I’m so scared.”

The damage comes just weeks after lorry drivers using the route warned yet again that it is only a matter of time before someone is killed by a migrant. In early August a driver was threatened by a migrant wielding a chainsaw during a night of violence which also saw lorries burned out.

…

“You’re leaving work and then you’re attacked by migrant shits just for fun – it disgusts me!” commented Maëva Mayla, in a post which has been shared by more than 6,000 people.

I’m proud of Mayla for correctly calling them what they are: migrant shits. That’s a good start; identify the problem. Then comes solving it. I do not as of yet know who let the dogs out. But I do know who let the shits in. They have names like Merkle, Cameron and Hollande. When the savages are repatriated, these louts need to go with them. That, or to the gallows.

“Refugees” having fun on the roads. Pinterest.

By the way, by computer, tablet, or phone, you’re reading this sentence by way of the internet.

Donald Trump Wants to Ban the Internet.

A friend reminded me that the Donald made that remark last December in a speech about extremism (on the internet, not his in wanting to ban the internet). I actually checked with Snopes and it checks out partly true. He’s not calling for a total ban. Instead he wants Bill Gates to tell him which sites need to be shut down. I’m not sure how this would work but, knowing the government, due process would not be included.

If they’re after extremists, go after the extremists. They’re easy to find (see the above stories). Leave me and my website alone. Less freedom is never the answer – with the web or with money…

Goodbye Cash.

Retail stores in Sweden have stopped taking cash and some think America needs to follow. Funny, Sweden bans cash but welcomes violent rapists and Mohammadens. Interesting.

Cash isn’t in any danger of disappearing, but maybe it should: The U.S. has much to gain by phasing out cash, according to researchers from Tufts University. Writing in the Harvard Business Review, they noted that the U.S. spends $200 billion each year to keep cash in circulation. (China also has high costs related to reliance on cash, they noted.)

Wouldn’t it be easier for the Tufts researchers to move to Sweden? They’re probably not violent and backwards enough but they could give it a try.

The problem here is the total and complete control the elites in government and banking want over your money. If there’s no way for you to physically hold it, it isn’t really yours. One button press and they could have it all. That, and they will know each and every purchase you make. I know, I know. If you’re not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about. Just like that Atlanta family.

I’m Perrin Lovett, and that’s news to me.

The “New Reality” Isn’t

America, Battle of Orlando, evil, France, freedom, government, peace, politicians, terrorism, The People, violence, War

Day to day life in America is pretty darned good – provided you’re in the right place at the right time. This assessment generally describes ordinary living on an individual basis. On a macro level – considering all the wrong places and wrong times – American life is becoming a race to the bottom. The bottom always seems just a little deeper with every passing relay.

As an aside, it’s not just an American problem. The June jihad continued yesterday in France.

Forty-nine innocent people were murdered by a psychotic savage this weekend in another milestone in the race. These victims are the latest in a huge line of people getting the short in of every stick imaginable.

The nation is decades into an idiotic worldwide campaign to meddle in each and every affair the world over whether they concern us or not (usually they do not). At the same time untold numbers of people displaced by the meddling and angered accordingly are brought to the U.S. where they increasingly seek revenge on the West (nightclubs, political rallies, etc.). After each attack these crazed programs are renewed with zeal while, simultaneously, freedoms and normal life for normal people are curtailed. For those who survive the attacks, that is.

So it is and will be with the Battle of Orlando. The government angers Muslims. The government imports angry Muslim to America. The Muslims shoot Americans. The government schemes to disarm Americans. It’s almost like a plan. An evil plan. They’re not just after your guns either. They want to completely change your way of life.

Citizens are now subject to measures formerly reserved for prison inmates everywhere they go – metal detectors, police dogs, police armed with sub-machine guns, random searches in public, etc. The new normal is insane. It gets worse with every attack, every battle – 9/11 should have been the wake up call of all wake up calls but it wasn’t. It was just a big chapter in the cycle.

9/11 is still plagued by unanswered questions. Orlando is no different. See: here and here for starters. (Some of these authors’ questions have already been explained; others likely never will). Some aspects of this attack and others like it are explained too fast, too conveniently. After most mass attacks the FBI immediately seems to know way too much about the perpetrator(s). It seems like part of a script. All of this helps perpetuate the cycle of government lunacy.

One thing we consistently miss these days is peace. A think-tank in Australia produces a Global Peace Index, ranking countries in terms of war, crime, terrorism, violence, discord and dissention. The U.S. ranks 103. One hundred two other countries are more peaceful – including Sri Lanka and Haiti.

The 2016 Global Peace Index ranks the statistical peacefulness in 162 nations. (Graphic from Institute of Economics and Peace)

We’re number 103! We’re number 103!

All the while our “leaders” tout new and innovative ways to give us more of the same. If this is the new reality, it isn’t working. Something has to give. Something needs to change.

Five Easy Steps To Start a Civil War

Austin Bragg wrote a hilarious satirical essay over at Reason: How to Create a [Individually-owned] Gun-Free America in 5 Easy Steps: Guns – and the Second Amendment – won’t just disappear. There’s a video too.

The last part of Step 5 gets to the problem:

The rest you have to take.

You’ll need the police, the FBI, the ATF or the National Guard—all known for their nuanced approach to potentially dangerous situations—to go door-to-door, through 3.8 million square miles of this country and take guns, by force, from thousands, if not, millions of well-armed individuals. Many of whom would rather start a civil war than acquiesce.

So inevitably gun violence, which is currently at a historic low, will skyrocket.

Or, we could just have freedom.

Gunning For Votes: A Look At Candidate Positions On The Second Amendment

Last week Donald Trump added a white paper to his presidential election campaign materials: PROTECTING OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.  Until then The Donald had been a one note Donny – his note was all immigration reform.  I decided to make a professional examination of his paper.  Then I decided to review the positions of major candidates from all parties on the subject of the Second Amendment.  Not all of them, of course; there is something like 170 Republicans seeking the party’s nomination.  I don’t have that kind of time.  Trump gets the spotlight.  Not because he’s Trump but because he published a white paper.

Now, this examination draws together two concepts which, for me, are diametrically opposed: I love and cherish firearms rights and all individual freedom; I detest electoral politics and government in general.  Herein, though, I attempt to keep a neutral attitude towards the subject.  You will soon realize my failure.

“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”  Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution (1791)(entirety).  I have expounded, in great detail, on the Second Amendment.  While a part of the Federal Constitution, establishing another government to plague mankind, the Second Amendment is the part that embodies the spirit of natural self-preservation, a branch of Natural Law.  It embodies protecting oneself from small-scale, “ordinary” predation as well as from the tyranny brought about by politics.

Politics involves the people setting themselves up for disaster one election at a time.  It’s usually a contest to see who is the biggest and worst rat – the rats usually win.  “The most improper job of any man, even saints (who at any rate were at least unwilling to take it on), is bossing other men. Not one in a million is fit for it, and least of all those who seek the opportunity.”  J.R.R. Tolkien, 1943 The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Let’s get started with…

The Republican Field

Donald Trump

Trump begins his dissertation: “The Second Amendment to our Constitution is clear. The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed upon. Period.”  He soon forgets the infringement and the period and explains why some abridgment is okay.

trump

donaldjtrump.com.

Well, he doesn’t throw The 2A under the bus immediately:

The Constitution doesn’t create that right – it ensures that the government can’t take it away. Our Founding Fathers knew, and our Supreme Court has upheld, that the Second Amendment’s purpose is to guarantee our right to defend ourselves and our families. This is about self-defense, plain and simple.

That’s his way of kinda sorta acknowledging Natural Law.  I might add, here, that it’s not just about self-defense.  It’s also about tyranny prevention and resolution – through armed and extreme measures if necessary.  The Founding Father knew about that too; The Supreme Court wouldn’t exist without it either.

Trump then moves on to enforcing “the laws on the books.”  That’s great so long as those laws are valid – most are not.  “We need to get serious about prosecuting violent criminals,” Trump says.  He gives examples of local violent crimes.  The man is not running for any local office but for President of the United States.  There are only two (potentially) violent federal crimes mentioned in that Constitution nobody reads: piracy and treason.  And, those are almost exclusively committed (alone with counterfeiting), these days, by the federal government itself.

States and localities should enforce laws that prevent violence against the innocent or which punish such violence.  My view is if a man commits a violent crime, then he should be prevented from further interaction with society, either via a prison sentence or a well placed shot.  This approach would necessarily remove him from the pool of persons capable of bearing arms.  Otherwise, the issue of crime is as completely removed from the Second Amendment discussion as violent crimes are removed from federal jurisdiction.

Speaking of well placed shots … Trump advocates self-defense.  That’s good!  He boasts, “that’s why I have a concealed carry permit, and that’s why tens of millions of Americans have concealed carry permits as well.”  That’s bad!  Who needs a “permit” from anyone (least of all from political and bureaucratic rodentia) to exercise a right??  Free people must be free to arm themselves if they like, without any government involvement – infringement if you will.

Trump wants to fix our broken mental health system.  Again, that’s great.  It’s also not part of his desired employment as set forth in Article Two of the Constitution (I keep coming back to that thing…).  I assume he means using his personal financial and celebrity status to help the mentally ill.  For that I commend him.  Otherwise, like crime mental health is irrelevant to the Second Amendment.

He gets back to guns: “Law-abiding people should be allowed to own the firearm of their choice. The government has no business dictating what types of firearms good, honest people are allowed to own.”  By itself this is his piece de resistance! However, he immediately murkifies the white right out of his paper by praising federal background checks (infringement) and by advocating a national carry permit (we have that now, it’s called the Second Amendment).  He also says driving a car is a privilege, not a right but that is another can of white papers.

The Donald ends by praising the military (yes, he’s running as a Republican) and proclaiming the rights of servicemen to carry arms.  I wonder if he caught the word “militia” in the text of The 2A?  The militia is the people. The people have the right to arms.  Trump’s military is the national standing army, known bane of freedom and limited to a two-year duration by that Constitution (am I dreaming all this????).

If pressed I don’t think trump would stand he forceful claim about people owning the firearm of their choice.  Suppose my choice is belt-fed and electrically operated.  Who Donald permit that or would he fire me? I don’t care to find out.

Carly Fiorina

Carly doesn’t have a white paper though she has much better looks that Trump (sure he would agree).  Her Second Amendment views may be found on her website, including a video from Fox News!

She notes that her husband has a government permission slip to carry a gun and she thinks that is fine and Constitutional.  I don’t think she’s read the document nor does she grasp the concept of a right.

Rand Paul

Dr. Paul is the son of Dr. Ron Paul, the man who should be President now. Outside of the Libertarians (see below), Rand has the best stance of The 2A.

As President, I vow to uphold our entire Bill of Rights, but specifically our right to bear arms.

Those who support the second amendment must also vehemently protect the Fourth Amendment. If we are not free from unreasonable and warrantless searches, no one’s guns are safe.

I will not support any proposed gun control law which would limit the right to gun ownership by those who are responsible, law-abiding citizens.

In the White House, I will remain vigilant in the fight against infringements on our Second Amendment rights.

Excellent!  However, to be true to his word, Rand would have to seek to repeal numerous federal laws in place now (NFA, ATF, 1986 “tax” act, etc.).  He’s also right about protecting rights in tandem.  That’s really the only valid reason to have a government.  He must also know that, sadly, every government in human history has immediately departed from this objective.  This trend will not abate anytime soon, Rand or no.

Jeb Bush

Yeah.  Another Bush.  Bush number three.  Not to worry, there’s a Clinton down below (not like that, Bill…).

I could not find an issue statement from George…er…Jeb’s website.  I did find an interesting exchange between the former governor and Stephen Colbert on The Late Show:

Stephen Colbert: Well, the right to have an individual firearm to protect yourself is a national document, in the Constitution, so shouldn’t that also be applied national…

Jeb Bush: No. Not necessarily…There’s a 10th amendment to our country, the Bill of Rights has a 10th amendment that says powers are given to the states to create policy, and the federal government is not the end all and be all. That’s an important value for this country, and it’s an important federalist system that works quite well.

Once again the comedian gets it right, the politician wrong.  Bush is aware of the tenth but not the second? Firearms and defense are universal rights not just national rights.  The right to self-preservation exists even in the absence of any government (imagine that for a minute..aaahh).  Bush didn’t even get number 10 quite right; “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.”  Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution (1791)(entirety).

This means the federal government is strictly limited to those very few powers specifically written in the Constitution.  The States have some power outside the scope of the federal leviathan – concerning violent crime for example.  And, The People themselves retain political power.  By the way, government is a mix of powers and rights. The body politic is empowered only insofar as it may preserve the rights of the individual.  None of this power, federal, state or personal may (legitimately) infringe the freedoms of the people.  Illegitimately, it happens all the time.  Use your personal power – save us from another Bush presidency.

The Democrats

The days of Zell Miller and Sam Nunn being behind us, many write off the donkey party as wholly anti-gun.  Anti-freedom is more accurate.  They are generally a mirrored image of their anti-freedom elephant counterparts. Losing my objectivity, yes.

Hillary Clinton

Clinton.  Yes, one married to that other Clinton.  Like so many leftists, Hillary couches firearms issues in backwards thinking and words.  To her guns in private hands are bad and result in bad things.  Instead of “firearms rights” she talks about “gun violence prevention.”

“I don’t know how we keep seeing shooting after shooting, read about the people murdered because they went to Bible study or they went to the movies or they were just doing their job, and not finally say we’ve got to do something about this.”  Hillary, August 27, 2015.  Part of her something would be reinstating the assault weapons ban.  That would be infringement as prohibited by the Second Amendment.

Like Hillary I too deplore violence.  That’s why I support a ban on government.

Bernie Sanders

Bernie’s list of issues is devoid of anything for or against the Second Amendment.  I glanced over it and it rather reminded me of Karl Marx, maybe with a friendly Vermont bent.  Moving on…

Joe Biden

Crazy Joe is apparently just about to get into the race.  He has no papers or issue statements yet.  However, some of his positions on guns may be found here and here.  Mind you, should he enter the race, his positions are subject to magically change depending on who he’s talking to.  Buyer beware.

Despite having voted against gun rights in the past, at a press conference in 2013 Biden enthusiastically demonstrated his prize, imaginary shotgun for reporters.  Trump has a point about mental illness.

Libertarians

Americans love their “two-party” system despite its none-existence.  We all tend to forget about the lovable, pot-loving Libertarians.  In addition to legalizing (decriminalizing, geesh) whacky tobacky, the LP is pretty decent on gun rights as far as it goes…

Darryl Perry

Darryl Perry is running for President.  He has a list of issues in his platform among which is “Self Defense.”  “As a Life Member of the Second Amendment Foundation, I support the right to privately own and possess firearms or any other weapon deemed appropriate for self-defense.”  Perry.

Deemed appropriate by whom, Mr. Perry?  “Deemed appropriate” sounds like the talk of the permit set.  What about offensive weapons designed to rid the people of a tyrant.  Ah.  That would go against the LP’s pledge, “I hereby certify that I do not believe in or advocate the initiation of force as a means of achieving political or social goals.”

That’s fine and dandy during civilized times.  But, suppose there’s a government on the loose?  What then?  Defense?  Defense against government is best accomplished by government prevention, which may require a little initiation of force – see the American Revolution, Thomas Jefferson, New Hampshire Constitution, etc.

Gary Johnson

Mr. Johnson was the LP candidate during the 2012 election.  No word on whether he’s in for this bout.  Nonetheless I have included his position.

“I don’t believe there should be any restrictions when it comes to firearms. None.” Johnson, April 20, 2011, Slate Magazine.  If he means firearms for the people, then that’s the best Second Amendment support statement of the 21st Century.

The only way to improve on a position like that is to declare there should be no government.  None.  But that would deprive us of white paper analysis and fun articles like this one.  Cheers!

***Note*** Nothing in the preceding article should be construed in any way as supporting any candidate for any office.  Perrin Lovett does not support government (outside of theoretical discussion and fun poking).

You have undoubtedly heard by now of the second great shootout in Waco, Texas.  The first involved the FBI, the U.S. Army and some unfortunate parishioners at the local Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Over twenty-two years ago the government decided to “rescue” some women and children from the clutches of their own church.  In typical government fashion the rescue attempt became an inferno (literally).

(Saving the children, government style.  Google.)

This time around the action featured members of various biker clubs.  The Bandidos and several other gangs met at the local Twin Peaks restaurant to discuss recruitment and territorial matters.  It was a sort of corporate retreat for overweight, balding druggies and felons.

Twin Peaks is famous for its sophisticated culinary offerings.

Bikers are famous for … well …

(Yeah… Why, Google, why?)

Bikers clubs, frequently rivaling the State in criminality, are often subject to intense police scrutiny.  The government suffers no rivals.  As was, the local police were keeping a malicious eye on the two-wheeling hooligans.  They apparently warned the management of Twin Peaks the event would turn out poorly.

At first, things seemed to go well.  “You like riding a dangerous over-sized bicycle without a helmet?”  “Me too!”  Friendships were forming.  Then, sadly, someone said or did something someone else did not like.

A fight began which left nine dead and eighteen seriously injured.  About 170 were arrested following a mass assault by the police who were, conveniently, staging nearby. When the shooting started the cops were ready and participated immediately.  SWAT units and tanks were already on site.

Many of my fellow conspiracy theorist friends have judged that the police, seeking to eliminate corrupt competition, staged the event and sniped those key members of the clubs whom most threatened their dominance.  I, as of yet, do not share this conclusion.  However, if the media resoundingly silences the results of autopsies and reports (as in the first murderous Waco affair), much credence will be given to this view. Already, things are “returning to normal.”

As nothing really surprises me anymore, this would make perfect sense.  It would also make sense if this was just the result of redneck stupidity – a sign of the demented times of modern America.  I recently wrote about blacks in Baltimore burning and looting their own neighborhoods in acts of flagrant stupidity.  I also touched on the incessant need of Muslims to shoot up cartoon conventions.  It’s only natural for marginally educated or employed white boys to get in on the senseless violence.

So it goes in America.  What a great country we had.  Remember the 70’s? Or the 80’s? 50’s? 90’s?  It seems like such a long time ago.  Time marches on.  The culture regresses.

I’ve been forecasting a giant, scholarly post of late.  Today will be the day.  I intend to publish a draft today or tonight by hook or by crook.  It’s coming.  As sure as the boobs of Texas are upon you.
