I hate to admit it but I have soooo many drafts and manuscripts in the hopper – about as many as I have draft articles for this site. Then again, I’m happy to have the material to work with.

Over the past few months I’ve gathered a bit of input from readers, suggestions for making The Happy Little Cigar Book even better. Thank you all. Some want more stories, some more recommendations. Many, if not most, want pictures. I am considering an expanded Second Edition – with pics! I’m also developing ideas for two (or more) Sequels of sorts.

In the existing book I tossed out the idea of Cigar Stories, wall to wall tales about cigars and the folks who smoke them. I’ve certainly heard and lived enough for another volume. Another possibility is a guide book to better cigar shops. I figure I can start in America and maybe later tour Europe for yet another edition.

A tour book would require extensive travel, considerable time and expense. As is I am pressed for sorely needed new equipment and software. A GoFundMe page might be in order. I’ll give that one some thought.

Then there are all the works in progress. You’ll need a new bookshelf before I’m done.

Cheers! Perrin.

Spring and Other Phenomena

Augusta, Jesus, Masters Tournament, Rock Fore! Dough, Spring

Today we observe the vernal equinox in the Northern hemisphere, better known as the first day of Spring. It’s a big deal for gardeners and sun worshipers, both beachy and pagan. Today also marks the feast of Palm Sunday, the commemoration of Jesus’s entry into Jerusalem and the beginning of Holy Week. Easter is coming fast.

Pietro Lorenzetti, 1320.

There are but five days until the release of what may be the best Batman movie ever, judging by the last two trailers.

In the Garden City preparations are almost finished for the 2016 Masters Tournament and related festivities. The azaleas are blooming. John Daly is prepping his RV. The big tent at Hooters will be up any day.

If you’re in town the evening of Tuesday, April 5th, you can attend the annual Rock Fore! Dough charity concert in Columbia County. When I returned to Augusta nine years ago the event truly rocked. Cheap Trick headlined that year. There was a promise of energetic entertainment each year for locals and tourists alike.

Then one year they invited Darius Rucker. They also changed the venue to Columbia County as I mentioned. There people are more than accepting of pop country. Thus began the only tragedy of Masters week. Rock Fore! is now little more than the Darius Rucker, post Blowfish, and friends crooner fest. This year I think Darius will be joined by such dynamic acts as: the Whining Warbles, Toothless Billy, Tight Pants Hick, and some other spiked-hair hillbillies. It’s just what the bored, pill addicted soccor moms of Evans want. The good news is they will all be in a wine and whine induced stupor the next day as we enjoy the Par Three fun.

Happy Sunday and welcome Spring!

Christian, Saint Patrick

Hold the green beer! In the interest of political correctness shouldn’t we just call it “Patrick’s Day”? “Saint” is synonymous with Catholicism. That means Christian. Christianity is blasphemy to both the Sharia (our seeming current policy objective) and the Noahide (our actual codified law…seriously). Eh? I didn’t think so.

saint-patrick

SAINT Patrick. Google.

Saint Patrick was born a Roman citizen in Britain. At age 16 he was kidnapped and enslaved in Ireland. He suffered his bondage for six years before escaping back to his home. Later, as a priest and a bishop, he returned to Ireland as a missionary of the Church. This in itself is a miracle I think. How many men would return to the land of their forced servitude in order to save perhaps the very same people who had oppressed them?

Saint Patrick’s story may be exactly what we need to remember in our insane politically wrong times. Tolerate the Fiqh and the Sanhedrin but keep an eye on them (through a reticle if necessary). The green beer will surely make the tolerance more tolerable.

Happy Saint Patrick’s day!

Craven Cowards Contemplate Crumpling Campus Carry

As I predicted this month H.B. 859, Georgia’s “campus carry” legislation, has passed both houses of the General Assembly. Now the bill has hit an unexpected iceberg of Titanic proportion – Governor Nathan Deal. Deal, who once feigned convincing support for the law, says he may veto it unless several modifications are made.

Most recent photo of Gov. Deal

Deal, a snail among slugs. Georgia.Gov.

Deal’s statement of timidity:

March 14, 2016

The governor’s office released the following statement in response to “campus carry” legislation passed by the General Assembly:

“As a lifetime defender and staunch supporter of Second Amendment rights, Gov. Deal has signed every pro-gun bill to reach his desk. However, he believes legitimate points have been made in regards to certain aspects of the ‘campus carry’ bill and he calls on the General Assembly to address these concerns in related legislation before Sine Die. Specifically, these areas of concern include dually enrolled k-12 students who leave school to attend classes at a university or technical college campus, as well as daycare centers on these same campuses. Deal also believes the governing boards of universities and technical colleges should have the discretion to set reasonable rules regarding disciplinary hearings and faculty and administrative offices. Addressing these issues is an important step in ensuring the safety and freedoms of students, faculty and staff in our institutions of higher learning throughout our state.”

        – Press release.

The problem is that Sine Die, crossover day, is rapidly approaching and there may be insufficient time for a re-do in the legislature. A corrective, secondary bill is technically plausible. It is also unnecessary.

Deal, who needs to be fired, is caving to the demands of whimps like UGA President Jere Morehead, who needs to be fired, and GSU President Mark Becker, who needs to be fired, and lunatic mad moms, as well as Georgia’s thriving criminal lobby.

The governor’s first two objections are incomprehensible. High school students and children in daycare would not be allowed to carry under the law. These young people are frequently surrounded by and made safer by adults carrying guns – at home, restaurants, malls, parks, etc. Why deny them the same protection at college campuses? Why trample the already overburdened rights of adults allegedly on the behalf of the youth?

The third concern caters to a power play by the likes of Morehead and Becker, who should both be fired. Giving discretion to college administrators in such matters is akin to giving a loaded gun to a toddler. There will be casualties. As babes have an understandable lack of judgement concerning weapon safety so beaurocrats have a demonstrated inability to grasp due process. Civil liberty is at risk.

The solution is for Deal to do his job (or resign from it) and sign the Bill. You can urge him to do the right thing. Call him, if you will, at (404) 656-1776. Tell him to man up or get out.

Bikers, RVs, and Cops, Oh My!: Observations From The Road

13 Sunday Mar 2016

I just survived another long distance highway excursion. Here are just a few things I noticed out there and a few of my humble opinions. I keep seeing things every time I drive that make me wonder if the best motoring days of America are behind her. This particular trip was (thankfully) devoid of any major incidents or obstacles. Still, it gets worse year by year, trip by trip.

I conversed with some bikers at a Florida hotel yesterday. They agreed that people just can’t drive anymore. It’s hard enough inside 2 or 3 tons of steel protection. For these dudes it must be like playing Russian roulette with a pack of drunken baboons, each holding a near fully loaded revolver. Here’s what I’ve got:

I-95 is less of a roadway and more of a 1900 mile, variable speed parking lot.

From the way most folks drive, one wonders if their cars are equipped with steering wheels, gas and brake pedals.

The average idiot out there is far more likely to use his phone than his mirrors and turn signals.

Three lanes moving the same direction in Germany: right lane, slow lane; middle lane, fast lane; left lane, very fast, passing lane.

Same road in America: right lane, erratic driving/illegal passing; middle, slow lane; left, inexplicable speed up, slow down lane. Geesh.

It can take an American idiot up to 30 minutes and as many miles to pass a single 18-wheeler.

18-wheelers appearantly lack mirrors and turn signals these days.

The concept of merging with free flowing traffic is a forgotten art.

Instead of lurking behind bushes, preying on decent drivers, the cops should arrest and beat those who impeed traffic, especially left lane slow pokes.

Who knew a Prius could tow a gypsy caravan wagon?

Please make sure your boat trailer has both wheels before towing it.

97% of the time a handicapped tag indicates a terrible, terrible driver.

A South Carolina tag indicates a mentally handicapped driver.

Not that many people drink and drive anymore; drunks drive better than the new average.

Instead of drinking, drivers today: text, talk, sing, fiddle with stupid gadgets, fight, read (one would not expect the ability), nap, sew, make out, freeze solid, eat some more, adjust everything, look down at the floor, anything else but drive responsibly.

Truckers, minivans, cops, and old people make driving a challenge; throw in a few Canadians, bikers, and cripples and it becomes more dangerous than a Trump rally.

Where do the old coots find those antique pickups?

If they use the blinker, they use it perpetually.

Dogs should be inside with you, not walking around on the roof. Clark Griswold had more sense.

I would be happier driving an airplane…or an Abrams M1.

FDOT has been rebuilding I-95 in Jacksonville for 20 years. I could have made more progress with basic garden tools.

A road trip used to end with getting there, now it concludes with PTSD.

The zombie apocalypse has happened; check your nearest interstate for proof.

Got a baby onboard? Try letting her drive.

People who want to ban guns are happy to speed along at 85, in a 5000 pound battering ram, jumping lanes like NASCAR, while texting some other moron – probably about banning guns.

If he tried it today, the Bandit would call Big Enos 100 miles in and abandon the run.

Oil down $10, gas down $.25 in 3 months. Oil up $2, gas up $.25 in 3 days. Go figure.

A police car parked on the frontage road, on the other side of the highway, over two retaining walls and a fence does not equate to jamming on your brakes. Fools.

Car lag is real. I have it.

Not sure where you’re going? Stay home.

Not sure how the car works? Stay home.

Blind? Stay home.

Retarded? Home.

Homicidal? Home.

The more that stay off the roads altogether, the happier roads we shall have.

Happy motoring. Or, happy homing.

Perrin Lovett

People continue to amaze me with what amazes them about me. Here’s a short list of things folks (even those who know me well)  can’t believe or don’t want to believe when it comes to Perrin.

I don’t vote. I used to but I gave up on fairy tales. Three reasons: 1) I’m an anarchist, 2) I’m a neutral (hehe) political commentator, 3) it’s pointless.

I’m an anarchist. Really. I want no form of government anywhere near me. You can keep whatever you like, just keep it away from me. Bonus reason: I have been DEEP into the inner workings of government and seen what it really is – Satanism made visible. No thanks.

I don’t watch television. I have favorite shows but they’re from the 60s – 80s. I will watch golf or football or a John Wayne movie if I happen to catch one and have the time. I regularly miss entire series, whole runs of shows everyone is supposed to watch. I don’t miss them.

I don’t like (most) movies. They stink and I don’t have time. I do want to see the new Batman flick though….

I will watch any manner of entertainment my daughter directs me to. Wrapped around her finger I am.

I’ve never had to discipline my daughter. Sometimes it is the other way around. She’s perfect, I’m not. Odd, yes.

I dislike most fiction. A few classics I reread now and again. The rest generally pales in comparison to my own reality. Why bother?

I love solitude. Never once have I been lonely. Yes, I enjoy a variety of human interactions, but not nearly as much as my quiet time.

I do not play the lottery. I can add.

I don’t play games.

I can walk right up and pet just about any animal. No, your dog won’t bite me. I have an effect.

When even moderately healthy I am immune to microbes and most toxins.

I’d rather wake up early than stay up late. Really, I enjoy both.

I despise telephones. Or, at least, talking on them.

I’d prefer a cheap cigar over a cheap beer.

No, I really don’t want to go to that restaurant/mall/concert/stadium/church/any other crowded place.

These are but a glimpse of the Perrindox. I’m like an onion, healthy but I make one cry. Or, is it the layers? Eh? Hmmm.

Sneaks

Taffy was a Welshman,
Taffy was a thief;
Taffy came to my house
And stoldisclos of beef.

I went to Taffy’s house,
Taffy was not home;
Taffy came to my house
And stole a marrow bone.

I went to Taffy’s house,
Taffy was not in;
Taffy came to my house
And stole a silver pin.

I went to Taffy’s house,
Taffy was in bed;
I took up a poker
And threw it at his head

-Nursery Rhyme

You gotta watch the darned Welsh. Just kidding. They’re okay. Sneaks and thieves come in all stripes. Here and now, in the age of information, we have the ability to review copious amounts of news 24/7. There’s always a lot of sneaking going on. Here are a few sneaky gems I found this evening.

ISIS

Those ever tolerant, ever caring jihadis are at it again. Angered by the vast diversion of attention towards the rigged American Presidential election, the Caliphate has to find a way to stay relevant. Their solution? Threaten America with Paris style attacks…soon, so they say.

Maybe they will and maybe they won’t. According to them it all depends on Allah’s permission. His inclinations are rather difficult to predict. They seem largely based on the whims of various terror groups. These groups have consistently demonstrated a desire to attack and destroy. There are quite a few of them in the U.S. and more are coming weekly thanks to our insane policies on immigration and “refugees.” They just need some AKs, a Ryder truck, and a large crowd of complacent Americans – all readily available. For us it is a matter of wait and see, and constant carry and situational awareness. Sneaky terrorists.

Drones

I’ve been droning on about drones for years here. Now the Pentagon has validated my concerns. For a number of years the military has been operating spy drones over America. It’s all okay, of course. They use them “largely to assist with search and rescue, floods, fires or National Guard exercises.” Largely. It’s the small usage that worries me. The kind of usage for civil law enforcement that would violate the spirit of that dead letter, the Posse Comitatus Act.

They’re not going to disclose illicit spying. A national security issue to be sure and one technically allowed under one of the many exceptions to the PCA. What they’re probably not doing is actual national security surveillance – like watching our ISIS “refugee” visitors. That would go against the overarching theme of the modern government – wrecking America. Sneaky spy drones.

Institutionalized Racism

When the military isn’t making money for the globalists or spying on you, they’re busy with nursery rhymes of their own. Signal Corps soldiers at Fort Gordon (Georgia) are being indoctrinated into the mythical horrors of……white privilege.

Privilege exists when one group has something of value that is denied to others simply because of the groups they belong to, rather than because of anything they’ve done or failed to do.

Privilege has become one of those loaded words we need to reclaim so that we can use it to name and illuminate the truth.

– U.S. Army psy-ops bullsh!t.

I suppose that could mean that Syrian and other Islamic terrorists have a privilege because they are granted instant access to America while other, nonviolent immigrants are kept waiting. No, they’re talk’n bout Whitey. Maybe electing a black Commander in Chief might help things….

Here’s some illuminated truth: while the Army wastes time and resources on foolishness, our enemies are preparing war against us.

Then again, this level of PC idiocy coupled with the new trans-everything vogue and the ridiculous lack of security and discipline at places like Fort Gordon might be a good thing for us citizens. They can’t effectively monitor the drones while they cry, bemoan privilege, Facebook, and plan maternity leave.

Egads!!! I hope they don’t realize who Fort Gordon is named after! I got a sneaking suspicion that might cause a PC meltdown. I’ll check my white, male, hetreo privilege now…

The Cops

The D.C. police have an interesting investigative tactic. In their quest for search warrants they have dispensed with the old Constitutional standard of probable cause. Instead of relying on facts and evidence, the cops are swearing warrant applications based on nebulous, talismanic “training and experience.” Judges and attorneys, caring nothing about justice, go right along.

Here’s how that works. The vice squad arrests A for drug possession. The lazy, lying cops tell a lazy judge, based on their whim…er…training and experience, that drugs might, just might, be found at the house A rented from B three years ago. The SWAT team raids A’s old home only to find C, a scared old lady, and no drugs or other criminal activity. C goes into therapy. The cops persecute the rest of the alphabet.

It’s not just in D.C. either. Civil rights suits are springing up but rest assured this new SS style of warrant procurement will live on. Sneaky “justice.”

Banksters

“By way of deception shall you do monetary and economic matters”. – The Banksters Creed.

Those greedy bastards have maintained the utter ruination of the American and world economies since the financial crisis. Now even Jim Rogers says another loose money recession is imminent. Many, including yours truly, say it’s already begun. Sneaky moneychangers.

Robots

What the global banking cabal doesn’t steal from you, the robots will. In twenty years the only jobs left in America will be servicing the robots that service the other robots. Robots are worse than Welshmen. They’re probably privileged and allied with ISIS. Sneaky silicon based jerks.

Schools

Our higher and lower institutions of education are a disgrace. In New York City students at PS75, an elementary school, are taught to pledge allegiance to some fantasy international flag. Maybe they’re preparing for the ISIS revolution. Maybe they’re working with the Army. Who knows? I would say “who cares?” but some of these kids will be headed to college someday.

In college they will need safe spaces and counseling – coddling – in case some mean old gay man comes along saying things gay men aren’t supposed to say. I am not making this up. Students, college students (legal adults) at the University of Pittsburgh reacted like frightened children when one Milo Yiannopoulos, a conservative gay speaker, came to campus.

He said things that hurt feelings. This “dangerous” homosexual had the babes in tears, literally:

“So many of us shared in our pain. I felt I was in danger, and I felt so many people in that room were in danger,” proclaimed Marcus Robinson, student and president of the Pittsburgh Rainbow Alliance. Robinson also suggested that councilors should have been provided in another room to protect students who felt “traumatized” by Yiannopoulos’s opinions.

See anything wrong with this picture? The leader of the campus gays was traumatized by the words of another gay man. At least, by Army standards, it wasn’t white privilege. On second thought, maybe Allah should intervene soon. Schools used to teach the young. Now they just babysit them. Why have them? Sneaky educrats.

And now, I feel bedtime sneaking up on me. Goodnight, dear readers.

A woman in Kentucky is the real life Wonder Woman. I’m not sure if she’s a mom but the title fit well with my headline and with yesterday’s post. She certainly is mighty. This unidentified heroine was shopping at a mall when she encountered a disturbed man. The thug chased her to her automobile and attacked her therein.

UK Dailymail.

Malls are like college campuses and other public places in that people have a desire to frequent them with an expectation of safety. Criminals and their enablers disrupt the expectation. So it was that evening in Kentucky.

Unlike Carol Allen and the mad moms, this particular lady didn’t rant and rave to a Senate committee about specious guarantees of safety in exchange for her freedom. Instead she exercised her freedom and carried her safety with her in her purse.

Once the cretin had her pinned inside her car she produced a pistol and shot him twice. That terminated the attack. The woman went home. The thug, John Ganobick, went to the hospital and then to jail. He later appeared in court sporting a thrachea tube.

31FDF55B00000578-3481507-image-m-23_1457450039313

Dailymail.

This kind of story plays out every day, every hour, in America. Each day some 3,000 good people use firearms to prevent crimes – usually without actually shooting anyone. It happens in malls, schools, homes, everywhere. You normally don’t hear about it in the American press because they have an agenda. They and their government want to disarm the people. The fact that guns save lives doesn’t help them and their cause.

You’ll note this story, from Kentucky, was reported by the British media. Many of the things I cover are chronicled in the European press, especially from England.

The Brits, having largely surrendered their right to self-defense, seem fascinated with Americans exercising our rights. They also seem a bit more objective than their counterparts in the U.S.

There’s a lot of hope in this story. Maybe the woman will inspire others to defend themselves. Maybe John Ganobick will come to Jesus while in prison, thus emerging a better man. Maybe some other thug will think twice before attacking another woman. Maybe the British will regain their stolen liberty. Maybe the mad moms and university whimps of America will go away and leave us free and happy. Just maybe.

Don’t be mad. Be mighty.

Cuckoo Over Campus Carry

Government and guns go together like Stalin and genocide, literally. Anytime a state decides to opt out of its monopoly on force and allow people their freedom, unhindered, it is a good thing. The only losers in such a situation are tyrants, petty dictators, beaurocrats and other criminals, and crazy people.

In Atlanta House Bill 859 is steaming towards becoming Georgia law. It would decriminalize the (permitted) carrying of firearms at state higher educational institutions…once again…that, and so much more USED to be legal and normal in the Peach State and across America (even without a permit).

The legislation passed the House, 113-59, on February 22nd. It now goes to the Senate, having been approved without changes by the Senate Judiciary Committee. The full Senate should ratify it and Georgia’s Governor has indicated he will sign it into law. Come next fall Georgia campuses will be safer places. Everyone is happy. Well, not everyone.

Sniveling editors at various newspapers, still mourning the loss of the Soviet Union, are upset. Communists take liberty with their disdain for liberty. The yellow journalists are not alone.

University System of Georgia Chancellor Hank Huckaby, who needs to be fired, and University of Georgia President Jere Morehead, who needs to be fired, are both against H.B. 859 and against freedom in general.

Huckaby testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee (loser, ha!) His opposition to freedom is “supported by the experience of campus presidents and campus public safety departments, who are closest to the day-to-day reality and operations of the state’s public colleges and universities.” Lies, all of it. If he testified under oath, he should be prosecuted in addition to being fired. People like Huckaby and Morehead are as far from reality as is humanly possible.

Morehead echoed Huckaby’s hammer and sickle opinions in an email to the UGA community. I suggest he head up a University somewhere that has real gun control…somewhere like North Korea.

54c01b63844d5.image

Milquetoast Morehead. Garrett Leffelman, The Red and Black.

There, sadly, are nuts outside of academia. Consider the case of Carol Allen of the Georgia chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, or “batshits” for short. The mons are mad – insane, rather. Their motto is “It’s time for gun sense in America.” This seems hypocritical as these mad moms know nothing about guns, have no sense, and lack an understanding of America.

Carol may be madder than most. Following her defeat in the Judiciary Committee she brazenly paraded herself before the membership, pointing her finger and threatening those who voted for freedom. I hear she was laughed to the street.

030816-leg-guns-bs1

Carol Allen, crazy person. Ajc.com.

We should all laugh a little. Not at the mentally unstable – that isn’t kind. Instead, let us laugh at the minions of tyranny as they lose this and other battles. I’ve written on this subject before. We’re winning. They’re losing. They’re mad. Cuckoo.

Back in January I said I was getting back on the fitness bandwagon. I’m on. I’ve dropped from 199+ to 191 pounds. Almost halfway to my happy weight. I’ll be there by Masters. My pants fit again. I feel better.

Actually, right now I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. The diet is working perfectly. I’m still a little haphazard in my workout routines though. That will work itself out as soon as the weight is off and I decide where I’m taking this program. Right now, when I go, I go all out. Two hours in the gym today and I beat the mess out of myself.

In fact, I hit it so hard I actually turned down a cigar review assignment. Friends, that has never happened! I’m either very disciplined or crippled. I vote for crippled.

Anyway, in the near future look for my professional opinion of the Sindicato Maniac 7×70 by Corona Cigars. It looks like a smaller, lighter Lunatic of JFR make. Like I told the tobacconist today, “Meeh…bif..nebb….pass……” My apologies to everyone.

More later. Gotta find some protein.
