Civil Sanctuary in an Uncivil Society

As I predicted a few months ago, efforts by the Trump administration to arrest the invasion by means of civil lawsuits, continue to go nowhere. A federal judge rejected (most of) the government’s case against California and its “sanctuary” laws:

A federal judge on Thursday rejected the bulk of a Trump administration demand to block three California sanctuary laws, allowing the state to keep in place its most significant legislative measures aimed at countering President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

Sacramento-based U.S. District Court Judge John Mendez rejected, for now, the Justice Department’s drive to halt a California law that limits the kinds of immigration-related information state and local law enforcement can share with federal officials. The judge also declined DOJ’s request to block another law guaranteeing California officials certain information about local and privately run jails that hold immigration detainees in the Golden State.

While the ruling is a setback for the Trump administration’s attempt to enforce immigration laws in states where leaders favor more liberal policies, Mendez did block parts of one of the disputed California laws, including provisions that banned private employers from voluntarily cooperating with immigration officials and from re-verifying the legal work status of employees.

Mendez, an appointee of President George W. Bush, took a narrow view of state and local governments’ obligations to allow their employees to assist federal immigration officials. He said California had broad authority to limit use of its resources for immigration enforcement.

“Refusing to help is not the same as impeding,” wrote Mendez.

Mendez is probably right about the refusals. And it’s good he rebuked the State’s criminal efforts to interfere with private enterprise. This really isn’t even a setback, being, in fact – as noted above, predictable. Speaking of criminal,

I’m confident there are incidents here and there where the refusals do turn to obstruction. In those cases, there is a ready remedy: 18. U. S. C. 1324. I almost tire of noting this law. Does no one in the DOJ have a copy of the USC or USCA? Maybe a direct letter to Trump is in order.

And, along with the lines of legal cracks, I couldn’t help but notice some are forming in the defense of the baby murder industry. NBC tries to reassure the hellish about their continued practices while roundaboutly admitting the failings of the cause.

Abortion will likely not be illegal in 20 states within 18 months. A new justice will certainly create a new balance on the court. Retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy was the fulcrum, now Chief Justice John Roberts is the median vote. But Roe will not be overturned just because there may be a new conservative majority on the court after President Donald Trump, who is set to announce his nominee on Monday, replaces Kennedy.

There are arguments for overturning Roe v. Wade. It was decided in 1973 on a shaky justification: The privacy right to an abortion does not explicitly appear in the Constitution, but it essentially radiates from the glow (the “penumbra”) of its text. Controversial when it was decided, the reasoning in Roe remains as controversial today.

In law schools, they actually teach that to properly read the Constitutional justification for things like Roe, one needs to wear x-ray goggles. Really. Maybe one should shoot up some drain cleaner too.

It’s not shaky, it’s just wrong. If the authority isn’t specifically granted the US, via the Old Parchment, then it is necessarily reserved to the States or to the People. “Liberty interests” were understood and defined in 1787 and they did not include any right to commit murder.

It’s a little funny and a little telling that they don’t even bother addressing the other justification – the allegedly inconclusive medical science part. That was specious at best 45 years ago. Today it’s a dead letter. Dead enough to kill the stare decisis surrounding this modern day Dred Scott.

Not that most care. Most wouldn’t even know what I’m talking about here if they could be diverted for a second from the potato chips and televisions. Some are too concerned about not separating a few thousand children, already separated by their criminal parents, to care about the killing of millions of other children. “Eff them.” Right? Yet others are too busy protesting other aspects of civil society while feigning self-serving outrage about this, that, and the other useless thing. Others … you get the point.

Tick, tick, tick.

Someone Robbed the Oldest Man in America

I’ve covered 12 cigar-a-day, 112-YO, All-America Richard Overton for over a year. See: Here and Here.

Happy times, then; today a pathetic story.

Someone is impersonating the oldest man in America.

Family members of Richard Overton, the 112-year-old World War II veteran who lives in Austin, learned that his personal bank account had been drained on Friday.

“Someone set up a bogus account, got his Social Security number and accessed his personal checking account,” said Volma Overton, who is Overton’s third cousin.

According to Volma, whoever accessed the money used it to buy savings bonds with Treasury Direct, and has been doing so for a few months.

“This is going to be a setback for Richard,” Volma said. “It was a significant amount of money.”

Pure evil. Overton has other funds. I imagine he’ll be successful in recovering the looted money in short order. Still…

I’ve been toying with the idea that, as identity theft is akin to killing the original person, for legal and banking matters, etc., maybe the same penalty should apply. Identity murder? In this particular case, the killer should be sentenced to death by cigar torch. Single flame. Over maybe a month or two. Too harsh? If you’re in Dallas, ask Overton. I’ll defer to his judgment.

I hope in ten years, he finds this a laughing matter.

Stefan Molyneux’s Hard Take on the Texas School Shooter

An analysis you’re not likely to get on the MSM:

Stefan Molyneux/YouTube.

He hits hard on the mindless boilerplate calls for more gun control. No “AR-47” or “fully automatic assault clips” to blame here. And Crazy Uncle Joe Biden did tell everyone to get a shotgun… Anyone called for #pressurecookercontrol or #pipecontrol? No.

He notes the media lies about “a school shooting every week” and dismantles accordingly. BTW, according to the CDC, while you watched his video, about 72 lives were saved in the US by guns.

He notes something else I had noticed: the MSM communists keep talking about the iron cross pin but stay conspicuously silent about their paraphernalia (hammer and sickle, Baphomet, etc.). No one, that I’m aware of, has mentioned the LGBT+ rainbow heart pin this overweight, smelly, atheist loser was sporting. Interesting.

This kind of examination is unheard of in the media, radical if you will. Stefan’s solution is radical too: charging the parents. Something to consider if one can get away from blaming the NRA.

My solution is even more radical. It also addresses societal problems beyond the violence. If you want to abolish school shootings, then abolish the schools. Abolish. Public. Schools. Or convert them to something that works, something decentralized. Homeschoolers do not have these problems at all. And they don’t suffer the embarrassing statistics I mentioned yesterday: a 92% graduation rate with only 39% proficiency in English and 28% proficiency in math (at the subject TX school, which is about the US average).

I’m probably going to cover this in a video asap. For now, this is the best I’ve seen. All things to think about, if you’re into thinking.

Wrath of Sadiq Khan really should head south through the Chunnel. Had he been around the other day he might have convinced an ISIS fighter that there is never a reason to have a knife.

The Islamic State has released a posthumous video featuring the knifeman who carried out a deadly terror attack in Paris on Saturday.

20-year-old Khamzat Asimov, who arrived in France as a refugee from war-torn Chechnya, launched a nine-minute lethal knife rampage through the centre of Paris.

Asimov murdered one man and severely wounded four others – including a Chinese and Luxembourg citizen – in the attacks close to the historic Opera Garnier, in the city centre.

Nobody tell Alyssa Milano – she’s a little hypocritical sensitive about the subject – but the NRA was nowhere around this (or any other) crime scene. Come to think of it, a few guns in the right hands might have saved a life. One notes that the police who shot the terrorist to death did so with guns. Interesting. #NoRA?

As French as Creme Brulee. Daily Mail.

Word has it Milano and Young Hogg will go on CNN with Khan to discuss this latest NRA-motivated school shooting.

As with any terrorist attack this attacker was previously known to police. He was even in a database! Probably something about the NRA and knives.

The lesson to learn here, dear friends, isn’t about immigration or situational awareness or the necessity of concealed carry. No. It’s that you can just get by with a plastic spork. Know your place, plebs.

Possibly Explanation for the Toronto Attack

I think they refer to this as “Gamma Rage.”

Alek Minassian, 25, was charged on Tuesday with 10 counts of murder and 13 counts of attempted murder.

Police say he appeared to intentionally strike pedestrians after mounting a busy pavement in a rental van.

He was arrested several blocks away after a tense standoff with police.

Mr Minassian’s Facebook post, which the social network has confirmed as real, praised Elliott Rodger , a 22 year old from California who killed six people in a shooting rampage through Isla Vista, California in 2014 before turning the gun on himself.

It read: “The Incel Rebellion has already begun! We will overthrow all the Chads and Stacys! All hail the Supreme Gentleman Elliot Rodger!”

The term “incel” refers to a now-banned group on the message site Reddit, used by Rodger, where young men discussed their lack of sexual activity and attractiveness to women – often blaming women for the problem.

“Chads and Stacys” refers to attractive men and women who are perceived as better than or unavailable to “incels”, which is short for “involuntary celibate”.

A different type of terrorism and “loser” by a different name.

Just a glance at a picture of either Rodger or Minassian reveals it may not, in fact, be all women’s fault. There’s that look. And that one. A shame these two killers couldn’t have “found each other” before people died.

Neuroscience is making great progress in identifying these types. The defects apparently show up in a genetic test, a brain scan, or both.

At least nine people are reported dead after an assailant drove a rental van down a sidewalk in Toronto. From the National Post:

The federal public safety minister says there is no information in the wake of the incident that would lead the government to change the country’s risk level.

Canada’s current level is Medium, meaning that a violent act of terrorism could occur, and has been at this level since October 2014.

Public safety minister Ralph Goodale says the government cannot come to any firm conclusions about the van incident at this stage.

Toronto Mayor John Tory said he planned to join those on scene as he extended city support to the investigation of an incident he described as “very tragic.”

“My thoughts are with those affected by this incident and the frontline responders who are working to help those injured,” he said in a statement.

Medium. Violent attack could happen. Looks like they called that one right. Thoughts by but no prayers in Secular City.

People talk about “tasty ethnic foods.” The ones not run down might eat some later.

If terror, then suspect was known to authorities.

No calls for #vancontrol from Trudeau, Hogg, CNN, Old Man Stevens, or any of the other lying commies. I may have to drop that satire; I’m growing confident that, after #knifecontrol, vehicular controls will be next.

Maybe I don’t need the satire anyway. A look through many of the comments on some news stories tells me people are starting to get it.

Strange fiction begets stranger reality?

Building on the news that London has displaced New York in knife and gun murders (despite the gun control thing):

Hospital staff compare the situation in The Great Wen to that of an Afghan war zone.

The shock comments made Thursday morning come after two more men were killed overnight, a couple of days after another night of violence saw a boy, 16, stabbed to death and a 17-year-old girl shot in a “drive by”.

Wednesday night’s killings, both in Hackney, East London, brought the death toll from suspected murder in the capital to 50 so far this year, pulling away from New York City, which London overtook at the weekend.

Dr. Mark Griffiths, the lead surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust in East London, said that knife and gun wounds had moved from a “niche” part of his job to a daily chunk of his workload, and a growing number of victims were “children”.

“Some of my military colleagues have described their practice here as similar to being at [Camp] Bastion,” Dr Griffiths told the Today programme on BBC Radio 4.

“We used to look after people in their twenties. Now people are often in their mid to late teens and children in school uniforms are being admitted under our care with knife and gun wounds.”

So, how’s that near total gun control working out, England? Gun wounds require guns just as civilization requires the civilized. Can’t have the one without the other.

The outlander Mayor finally responded to the rising, predictable violence:

“The Mayor is shocked and angered by the violent deaths on the streets of London this year.

“He is heartbroken that so many of those taken have been young lives – and his thoughts are with their friends and family at this difficult time.

…

“The safety of Londoners is his number one priority.

Anger and heartbreak are understandable. How could this all come as a shock to any cognizant individual?

Saaaaaaaafety… Maybe freedom should be the number one priority? Then, second, homogeneity? Somewhere along the way safety might take care of itself.

Nah. Ignore the guns. And certain factors demographic. Blame the knives. “Surrender your knife save a life!“ #knifecontrol.

uk-knife-control

It’s no longer possible to even make this crap up… Downtrend.

Something in all this reminded me of a very recent Christopher DeGroot piece at Taki’s Mag: The Education of America. Kind of fits (without need for a separate column…). One would think men would learn. They had better.

Gun Control in Action! London Tops NYC in Murders

You read that right. I know, I know, it’s hard to believe. The JP Stevenses of the underworld would have us believe that gun control fixes crime. So, when a HIGHLY gun controlled place like London, England tops an evil, NRA-controlled city like New York, something must be off, right?

According to a report by the Sunday Times, New York City’s murder statistics have decreased by 87 per cent since the 1990s.

Meanwhile, London’s rate has grown by nearly 40 per cent in just three years, not including deaths caused by terrorist attacks.

Although New York last year had nearly double the number of murders than London, experts are concerned the gap is steadily closing.

Officials are concerned about the uptick in fatal stabbings, fearing there is a dangerous surge in knife crime.

Last year there was a total of 80 fatal stabbings in the capital – the most in almost a decade. And official figures show that 2017 was the worst year for knife deaths among young people since at least 2002.

Forty-six people aged 25 or under were stabbed to death in London, up by 21 compared with the previous year, according to police figures.

From Vox Day:

London’s murder rate has overtaken New York City’s numbers for the first time ever, according to a new report.

February marked the first month in history books that London had more murders than the American city with a total of 15 homicides. Out of the 15 killed, nine were aged 30 or younger.

In March, there were 22 murders, which is likely to match if not beat out New York’s numbers.

The victims:
Sadiq Mohamed, 20, Kentish Town
Abdikarim Hassan, 17, Kentish Town
Josef Boci, 30, Greenwich
Seyed Khan, 49, Ilford
Rotimi Oshibanjo, 26, Southall
Promise Nkenda, 17, Canning Town
Sabri Chibani, 19, Streatham Common
Lewis Blackman, 19, Kensington
Hasan Ozcan, 19, Barking
Hannah Leonard, 55, Swiss Cottage
Kwabena Nelson, 22, Tottenham
Mark Smith, 48, Chingford
Bulent Kabala, 41, Enfield
Saeeda Hussain, 54, Ilford
Juan Olmos Saca, 39, Peckham

All normal, traditional Anglo-Saxon names, eh? Okay, “Mark Smith” or “Hannah Leonard” could be anyone, recent immigrants even. But I see a trend.

4ABE5A0900000578-5566689-image-a-1_1522591535161

The PC Wave. Daily Mail.

There’s a reason they call it Londonistan. The city population is comprised literally half by foreigners, complete with a foreign, Muslim mayor (whom I originally tried [in vain] to give the benefit of the doubt). Surprisingly, many peoples from the third world bring their backwards, violent ways with them when the move into new territory. It’s like genetic or something.

It’s harder to get guns in NYC than most American cities. But one can get them. In London, and most of the UK, it’s nearly impossible. Funny how criminals immediately turn to other tools. It’s almost like the guns aren’t the problem. And the names….

And, yes, they’ve floated knife control there too. They’ve pretty much outlawed self-defense. The real British people are the real victims.

And in America, people like David “Not a Crisis Actor” Hogg and John Paul “The Relic” Stevens, want to do the same thing to real Americans. They want our safe nation torn apart by increased violence. They don’t want a discussion; they want gun control, guns banned. They want to rob you and leave you more likely to be murdered. They’re the same sort who want to import more killers too.

Worst of all, these Hellish liars and thieves want to leave you defenseless before the whims of whatever tyranny “their” government can devise. Honestly, they’re about as American as most of the above-named decedents were English.

This is what I promised yesterday. It’s what really happens when you give up the guns while embracing the “blessings” of globalism. It’s done in England and it can happen in the US.

But, in England, there is a ready solution, should one single Briton choose it. I challenge her to do so for the sake of her people. Queen Elizabeth possesses extraordinary powers. These have historically been shelved by a popular Monarch content with the civil order of society.

Things have changed and to a point suggestive of emergency action. Therefore, pursuant to her Royal Prerogatives, I urge the Queen to immediately:

  • Terminate all gun controls;
  • Arm her people;
  • Seize all assets of fake Britons, gun control advocates, and assorted globalist trash;
  • Deport or imprison all fake Britons, gun control advocates, and assorted globalist trash; and
  • Dismiss, arrest, and severely punish any: Prime Minister, Commoner or Lord, Judge, Mayor, media figure, or anyone else who attempts to interfere with the foregoing.

Make England Great Again. Make it free and safe.

* Upon reinstatement of a few ancient titles and grants, Perrin volunteers to marshal said actions.

Hello and Happy Easter!

This being the first of April I had wanted to play some sort of April Fool’s joke. Time being what it is, and this being Easter, I give you the most foolish thing I could quickly think of: this picture of popular star, influencer, and media darling, David Hogg (who most definitely is NOT a crisis actor):

david_hogg_getty

The Hill.

Young Hogg has unwisely drawn the ire of Ted Nugent. The Motor City Madman deemed the constant, whiny, and orchestrated attacks by Hogg and his troupe, “ignorant and dangerously stupid … soulless.”

I don’t think the standard SJW shriek and swarm tactics will work on Ted. They did work on Laura Ingraham, who is going on a “planned” vacation following the departure of over a dozen of her advertisers. That happened because of Hogg’s hissy fit.

So, this guy wants the spotlight when it’s convenient for the cause (of spreading communism) but not when it cues someone else’s free speech. The left used to be big on free speech. Remember that? Berkeley? Yeah. Now, offend their tiny sensibilities and off with your career. That’s what he’s doing: a woman, a single mother no less, speaks her mind, and he tries to get her show and livelihood destroyed. His rabble on Twitter are more than happy to play along. This is America?

Everyone plays along: adherence to the narrative. Predictable, preventable, lamentable school shooting. Hogg. Complete abdication of the facts and statistics. March for Our Lives. Actually, it wasn’t all scheduled in that order. The March, says the Metro DC Police, was scheduled “several months prior” with “several months of planning.”

DZk-JFUW0AAOMyd

MPD.

I thought the Florida shooting, ONE month earlier, proximately caused the March. Several months?

Make that several years of planning, decades even. This has been an ongoing movement since long before Hogg (or I) was born. He’s playing right into it nicely. Just as these lowlifes are happy to steal a single mother’s employment (Hey! Where’s NOW and the #metoo brigade??), they’ll be just as happy to steal the AR-15s, other firearms, Second Amendment, and freedoms of all Americans. I imagine the theft would continue thereafter. That’s what serial thieves do.

At least this troupe is entertaining, with the marches, magazines, and hysteria. But it’s still just Petrushka agitprop for the numbed masses. ‘Merica.

Tomorrow! A fun look at what happens to your Capital’s murder rate once the good subjects are disarmed. Stay tuned. Happy April.

Musical BONUS!

John Paul Stevens and John Paul Jones have similar names. I think they’re about the same age too. Anyway, with so many apologies to the great Johnny Horton:

John Paul Stevens was a communist,

and a communist was he.

He lied over here,

and he drooled over there.

And he didn’t want Americans free.
