If achieved, will rapidly give way to logistical collapse. Someone at the Pentagram knows this, paying attention to the alarming (if predictable) results of the analysis of Civil War 2.0 fallout. But the DOD still hosts a large cadre of idiots.

NUCLEAR weapons could still create “decisive results” and break stalemates during a war, Pentagon top brass have claimed.

The ominous new document – since deleted – is called ‘Nuclear Operations’ and suggests military chiefs could once again use the weapons of mass destruction to “restore strategic stability.”

Arms control experts say the doctrine marks a dangerous shift towards the idea of actually fighting and winning a full-scale nuclear conflict.

“Using nuclear weapons could create conditions for decisive results and the restoration of strategic stability,” the joint chiefs’ document states.

“Specifically, the use of a nuclear weapon will fundamentally change the scope of a battle and create conditions that affect how commanders will prevail in conflict.”

Whose commanders?

The odds of a meltdown, collapse, or terminal domestic war, the remains of America, are a near mathematical certainty. I think the odds of heavy bombing and/or artillery barrages hovers north of 50%. Can we add the odds of nuk-u-lar weapons to the mix? 10%? 20%? Let’s hope the rumors about tritium scarcity are true.

When it comes, the primary death toll culprits will probably be disease and starvation, rather than Mark 83s. However it happens, it will cut into these newly released population estimates.

The graying of America continues.

The national median age rose to 38.2 years last year, according to newly released data from the U.S. Census Bureau. That suggests half of the U.S. population is more than 38-years-old and half is younger. By gender, the median for woman is 39.5 while for men its 36.9 years.

The aging of America is widespread with 49 of 50 states showing an uptick in older residents. North Dakota was the only state to see a decline in its median age, from 37 years in 2010 to 35.2 in 2018.

“This aging (phenomenon) is driven in large part by baby boomers crossing over the 65-year-old mark,” said Luke Rogers, the Chief of the Population Estimates Branch at the Census Bureau.

A decline in birth rates is another reason. The number of U.S. births fell to lowest level in 32 years in 2018.

There were less than 3.9 million babies under age 1 as of July 1, 2018. This represents the smallest age cohort until age 64. The largest age cohort is 27-year-olds, making up 4.8 million of the population.

Bombs for boomers? That might be a strategy.

Yes! Gun fans, we have, after too long a pause, another Second Amendment article. Today’s ramble was motivated by one of the most irresponsible and alarming comments heard, maybe ever, in the left’s long war on freedom in the New World. Today, we explore the hypothetical intersection of American gun enthusiasts and nuclear weapons. It’s an improbable discussion. Then again, we live in improbable times.

A while back I laid to rest (so I then thought) any concern over the “nuclear option” concerning private firearms ownership. Little did I know that the subject would charge back into the national discourse with deadly potential.

As ridiculous as it sounds, the highest level of gun control hysteria the commies and globos can mount is the utterly irrational fear that, given an unrestricted right to keep and bear arms, American citizens will resort to the ownership and use of nuclear weapons. Yes, really. I’ve actually encountered that grade-A brand of stupidity live and in person – on a college campus if you’ll believe it. I heard it again, via this video:

Harvey was too much. Irma is coming. Now, there may be a different kind of disaster in North Korea. How about H-bombs on 10,000 km-capable ICBMs?

For some reason I can’t bring myself to worry about this that much. D.C. is still radically more dangerous to Americans that Pyongyang. Still, if a renewed war gets rolling now, the outcome may be surprising and extremely unpleasant.

I do wish all of the pols and commentators would can the “make some glass” BS. That time has passed. Or, at least, who would like to pick the U.S. city(s) to run through the glass factory?

NK still has but a drop in the nuclear bucket. But it’s a drop you’d rather not spill.

There’s a saying: “If you’re taking flak, you know you’re over the target”. So Ivan Throne found he was successfully getting to the SJWs. He “boasted” of his inclusion on a list of Twitter accounts some band of losers wants someone to ban. That’s their M.O.: find something you don’t like and demand it (or he) be banned. Ignoring is not an option. Neither is minding one’s own business.

I congratulated Ivan on his successes. Then I looked around change.com at some other stupid petitions. Some must be worthy of something. Others look like this:

Petitioning President Obama to meddle in the Trump administration.

On January 20, the military officer carrying the codes for America’s nuclear arsenal will follow President Barack Obama to the inaugural platform. When he leaves, the officer will follow President Donald Trump.

We will then have a president who reportedly said, “If we have nuclear weapons, why can’t we use them.” Will he really order a nuclear attack in the next four years? No one knows. But if he does, no one can stop him.

President Trump will be able to launch, within minutes, one or one thousand nuclear warheads without any vote, any check, or even any serious deliberation. Just one missile could kill millions. Once launched, the missiles could not be recalled.

But President Obama has one last chance to reduce this danger. With the stroke of a pen, he can take US nuclear missiles off hair-trigger alert, so that any attempt to use these weapons would take hours or days.

Taking nuclear weapons off high alert would not impede our country’s ability to defend itself. We could still respond to an attack. But it would buy time for the president to consult with Congress and other leaders and for cooler heads to prevail. We should not rush into a decision to start nuclear war.

As Obama said in 2008: “Keeping nuclear weapons ready to launch on a moment’s notice is a dangerous relic of the Cold War. Such policies increase the risk of catastrophic accidents or miscalculation. I believe that we must address this dangerous situation.”

Now, President Trump could launch 140 warheads in the time it takes to write 140 characters. The grave difference is: a tweet can be deleted, but the devastation of a nuclear warhead can never be undone.

Sign this petition to call on President Obama to use his authority to take nuclear missiles off hair-trigger alert status.

Then, share this petition with your friends, family, and co-workers. Together, we can make sure these weapons are never used again. http://www.ploughshares.org

As usual, the SJWs are lying. At the inauguration platform, Trump will already technically be President, the “football” following him. More importantly, those missiles can be disarmed or destroyed in flight. Most important, they’re appealing to the wrong man.

Gizmodo.

Obama has spent the past eight years continuing and expanding the Bush wars. And he’s go right along with the neocon globalist drive for war with Russia. It’s Trump who has offered the olive branch to Putin.

The petition has 75,000 of the sought 100,000 signatures. I hope these folks are well meaning. And I hope they’re not disappointed when it fails. Then again I hope they’re happy when it proves to have been in vain. That, I hope, is the ultimate case. No-one wants a war, especially a nuclear one.

Then again, no-one should want a departing administration meddling with the incoming one.

How To Survive A Nuclear War

Over the weekend, while some fretted about Trump groping hoaxes, felon ball, and “men” wearing makeup, the military went into defense readiness condition “DEFCON” level three. DEFCON 3 is heightened readiness. 5 means no threat. 4 is increased intelligence activity. We appear headed towards 2 – serious preparation for war. DEFCON 1 means war imminent within one hour.

None of this is as important as finding the proper place for personal pronouns against the patriarchy though it is pretty serious business. We’re now closer to nuclear confrontation than we have been in the past sixty years.

weirdal

Christmas at ground zero? Weird Al.

As such I put together this little guide for survival:

Don’t Elect Idiots To High Office

Oops. That ship has sailed. The selection of homicidal maniac politicians has become America’s other national pastime. Go on. Make herstory with Hillary and then move on to:

Live Where The War Isn’t (or Won’t Be)

The odds of war are still pretty low. And, if it happens, it will likely be localized, a regional affair, say in eastern Europe of Syria. A few Russian and American military bases, industrial centers, and communications installations might be hit. Populated areas around those centers might be destroyed. On the positive side, Washington D.C. might cease to exist. Anyway, try not to live in or around places like that.

In the event of all out war, continental America, Europe, and Russian, and maybe some other places are toast. Conceivably, any place with people could be targeted.

Move to Antarctica. On The Beach radiation drift theory aside, that continent will be the safest place on Earth. If you want to eat, bring the food with you. It may be a little chilly. Skiers and snowman enthusiasts will be in paradise.

Alternatively, leaving Earth would be a safe bet. If you have a rocket and sufficient supplies, consider outer space. This may be rather difficult. So….

Go Underground

Deep underground. Ideally, you want about 1,000 feet of rock between you and the outside world. Be prepared to stay down there for a while.

The U.S. used to maintain a system of fallout shelters. The Russians still do. These places will provide no protection against a direct strike but will ease the effects of indirect bombings. Go dig you a hole. Or,

Just Survive

The main dangers of a nuclear blast are: intense heat; extreme pressure, and; radioactive fallout. The first two are inescapable barring the use of some sort of nonexistent EM shielding (or 1,000 feet or granite). The further from the blast, the lower the risk from those.

It is possible that some very few people will endure the fallout without taking extraordinary precaution. Just as some have an inexplicable immunity to lethal diseases, some have higher tolerance to radiation. And the radiation may dissipate faster than expected.

This option requires the least effort (none) but it is a bit of a gamble. Americans love to gamble. So, just think of it as fantasy fallout league. Invite your friends to play. Make up some team names.

***

People wrote up plans like this from the 1950 through the 80s. Happily they were never useful. Hopefully it will be like that this century. Can you imagine the effect of a war on the Pokemon industry? I shutter to think of it.

BONUS! (Items to Hoard)
