Unless you just emerged from a deep hole somewhere, then you likely know something about the unhinging of America as seen in Charlottesville, VA this weekend.

Daily Mail.

There’s plenty of commentary out there – some honest, some less so. Here are just a few observations, some in general and some directed at various groups:

1. Stay away from events like this unless you are with the police/EMTs or just incredibly stupid. They are dangerous and largely pointless.

2. There are going to be more of them. They will grow increasingly worse, rising (descending) from “riots” into “battles.”

3. This is that beloved diversity in action. This is the outcome of 50 years of globalist takeover in America. Congratulations, this is what you’ve done. Ram enough incompatible people into close proximity and all hell will eventually break loose. This is what you get when you sufficiently demonize the majority population and they decide to fight back.

4. In a sense, for the first time in 50 years, this was a race riot featuring white people in roles other than those of fleeing victims. Maybe you didn’t specifically ask for it. Really doesn’t matter now.

5. I said it was a bad idea to attack all things Confederate. This one originally cranked up in response to an assault on the image of one of the greatest military minds and most honest gentlemen in American history, Robert E. Lee.

6. Perhaps hundreds of assault rifles were carried in force and not one single shot was fired. Restraint amid the madness.

7. Whichever side you’re on, please remember that the police are not your friends. They’re there to enforce the local establishment’s laws and wishes. They will happily steer two warring factions towards conflict if it helps them keep a modicum of control.

8. Communists, BLMers, and SJWs: Cars can be deadly weapons. If you attack someone in a muscle car, you might expect to get run over. Actions have consequences, snowflakes. Stop attacking and hating white people and they just might not show up by the thousands with torches and ARs. Idiots.

9. Alt-Right and Nationalists: lose the Nazi and KKK sh!t. You don’t need this level of extremism to trigger the SJWs; seems any and everything does that. No one likes the Nazi crap. It’s counter-productive. It enforces your enemies’ stereotypes of you. It’s all completely irrelevant and woefully out of date. It’s Un-American. And was all originally based on a fraud anyway; are you yourself a 1930’s German worker and socialist? No, then cool it. Hitler was a fool. Leave him in the bunker.

10. On a partially related note: some have spent the better part of a year calling Donald Trump “Hitler,” “Literally Hitler,” and “a Nazi.” Why now???, how???, how could you possibly expect your “Literal Hitler” to start condemning Nazis??? No sense whatsoever.

11. Politicians: shut the hell up. This is your mess. Blame no one but yourselves.

12. Globalists: go to hell. Go now. Do not pass go.

13. Mr. Jefferson: please pardon the mess. Seems you were right about watering the tree.

14. I don’t think these trends will reverse. The old America is on the path to civil war or a breakup. I sincerely hope I’m wrong. Prepare as best you can.

15. There is no point 15. I just added this so some moron won’t call this Perrin’s 14 points. See No. 9, above.

Not a pretty weekend but it was entirely predictable. It should be patently obvious to everyone outside the Federal Reserve, the war party, and the MIC that we no longer need boogeymen and foreigners to fight. There’s plenty of trouble at home.

God Bless America. What’s left.

America, Empire, North Korea, Pat Buchanan, War

If you haven’t read A Republic, Not an Empire, you should. Eighteen years later and Pat’s thinking is still timely:

If the past is prologue, and it has proven to be, the future holds this. A renewal of ICBM tests until a missile is perfected. Occasional atrocities creating crises between the U.S. and North Korea. America being repeatedly dragged to the brink of a war we do not want to fight.

As Secretary of Defense James Mattis said Sunday, such a war would be “catastrophic. … A conflict in North Korea … would be probably the worst kind of fighting in most people’s lifetimes.”

When the lesson sinks in that a war on the peninsula would be a catastrophe, and a growing arsenal of North Korean ICBMs targeted on America is intolerable, the question must arise:

Why not move U.S. forces off the peninsula, let South Korean troops replace them, sell Seoul all the modern weapons it needs, and let Seoul build its own nuclear arsenal to deter the North?

Remove any incentive for Kim to attack us, except to invite his own suicide. And tell China: Halt Kim’s ICBM program, or we will help South Korea and Japan become nuclear powers like Britain and France.

Given the rising risk of our war guarantees, from the eastern Baltic to the Korean DMZ — and the paltry rewards of the American Imperium — we are being bled from Libya to Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen — a true America First foreign policy is going to become increasingly attractive.

Kim’s credible threat to one day be able to nuke a U.S. city is going to concentrate American minds wonderfully.

Here the best common sense solution is also the easiest. Sadly, common sense usually doesn’t coalesce until after an Empire falls and fades away. Ask Gibbon.

There was a recent glimmer of hope on a related matter: privatizing the war in Afghanistan (still fighting 16 years later, you know). But it was a false hope. Rather than a privateering program like the one that withstood the British Navy during the Revolution, they propose a mass extension of, a monopoly trust system for, the corporate welfare. More imperial faliure awaits.

And all the while, as we chase phantoms in places we don’t belong, the enemy within our own nations Aloha Snackbars away. Again and again.

Bombing airliners is so 1980’s. Still they try:

Australia was terrifyingly close to witnessing the nation’s worst ever terror atrocity, with hundreds of people blown out of the sky on a routine Saturday flight to the Middle East, it emerged today.

If the alleged ISIS-led plot had been successful, the Etihad jet would have been downed by a bomb unwittingly carried on board by one of the suspect’s brothers.

With full details of the plot yet to emerge – and others shrouded in secrecy for legal reasons – the Australian public have only been fed titbits of information this week.

But at a press conference this morning, an hour before two of the suspected ringleaders appeared in court, the chilling allegations were laid out to a shocked media.

In essence, a bomb was allegedly carried into Sydney Airport on July 15 to be detonated aboard flight EY451. It never made it aboard. Hundreds of lives were spared.

But once these details had been digested, one terrifying question lingered: How did nobody in Australia know about a plot that had been ordered in Syria and involved parts being sent from Turkey to Sydney in international air cargo?

Some people never learn. Fred recounts:

When you have militarily stupid politicians listening to pathologically confident soldiers, trouble is likely. All of these people might reflect how seldom wars turn out as those starting them expect. Wars are always going to be quick and easy. Generals not infrequently advise against a war but, once it begins, they bark in unison. They seldom know what they are getting into. Note:

The American Civil War was expected to be over in an afternoon at First Manassas. Wrong, by four years and some 650,000 dead.

Germans thought that World War I would be be a quick war of movement, over in a few weeks. Wrong by four years and fantastic slaughter, and was an entirely unexpected trench war of attrition ending in unconditional surrender. Not in the Powerpoint presentation.

When the Japanese Army urged attacking Pearl Harbor, their war aims did not include two cities in radioactive rubble and GIs in the bars of Tokyo. That is what they got.

When the Wehrmacht invaded Poland, having GIs and the Red Army in Berlin must have been an undocumented feature. Very undocumented.

When the French re-invaded Vietnam after WWII, they did not expect les jaunes to crush them at Dien Bien Phu, end of war. Les Jaunes did.

When the Americans invaded Vietnam, having seen what had happened to the French, the thought did not occur that it might happen to them too. It did.

When the Soviets invaded Afghanistan, having seen what happened to the US in a war against peasants, they did not expect to lose. They did.

When the Americans attacked Afghanistan, having seen what happened to the Soviets there, they did not expect to be fought to a slowly losing draw. They were.

When the Americans attacked Iraq, they did not expect to be bogged down in an interminable conflagration in the whole region. They are.

Is there a pattern here?

Pattern, schmattern.

The U.S. Doesn’t Do 4GW

The President held a Come-to-Jesus meeting with generals last month over American strategy (or lack thereof) in Afghanistan.

“We aren’t winning,” Trump complained, according to these officials. “We are losing.”

One official said Trump pointed to maps showing the Taliban gaining ground, and that Mattis responded to the president by saying the U.S. is losing because it doesn’t have the strategy it needs.

The White House declined to comment on internal deliberations.

The President says we are losing and the SecDef admits it is so – because strategy.

Lindsey Graham says Trump needs to listen to the generals “who have been in the fight” or else “Afghanistan is going to collapse.” I think he means listen to the same guys with(out) the strategy which has led to our losing which is kind of like a collapse. Of course, with Graham it’s hard to tell what the hell he’s talking about or thinking on anything.

We’re closing in on 16 years in Afghanistan. Four times as long as it took to beat Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan concurrently. Those countries had real militaries that fought back viciously. That’s also four times as long as it took Lincoln to defeat the Constitution CSA.

At this point the neo-Confederates have got to be liking their chances. So must the CALEXITers, Vermont Republicans, and anyone really looking forward to 2033.

Dave Granlund.

Amazingly, some in New York and DC still want a war with Russia, or China, or Iran, or North Korea, or all of them (plus maybe a few more) at the same time. A strategy (or lack thereof) that can’t beat the Taliban in a decade and a half has no hope whatsoever against Russia.

A better strategy for Asia and elsewhere might be to hang it up and start minding our own business. The troops might serve better at home rounding up central bankers, Senators, SJWs, MS-13, ISIS, and other criminals.

“Potential Security Risks” in the Extreme Vetting

The same government that claims to vet “refugees” and immigrants in general can’t even do it for those joining the military.

Defense Department investigators have discovered “potential security risks” in a Pentagon program that has enrolled more than 10,000 foreign-born individuals into the U.S. armed forces since 2009, Fox News has learned exclusively, with sources on Capitol Hill and at the Pentagon expressing alarm over “foreign infiltration” and enrollees now unaccounted for.

After more than a year of investigation, the Pentagon’s inspector general recently issued a report – its contents still classified but its existence disclosed here for the first time – identifying serious problems with Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI), a DOD program that provides immigrants and non-immigrant aliens with an expedited path to citizenship in exchange for military service.

Defense Department officials said the program is still active but acknowledged that new applications have been suspended.

Where’s one of those federal judges to immediately reinstate the program? The Pentagon could miss out on the best scholars and researchers ISIS has to offer.

The other day and out of the blue my daughter rattled off some stats about how soon the robots and AI will rise to power. I was impressed someone other than me was interested. Then again, she’s my daughter. (It’s soon, by the way).

And it could always happen even sooner. The machines are evolving.

Skynet_logo

Cameron/Orion.

A Facebook AI experiment almost got away from the experimenters.

Facebook has recently developed a new artificial intelligence (AI), and it has since created its own language using code words to communicate more efficiently. Researchers promptly shut the system down over concerns that they might lose control over the A.I.

This isn’t the first time AIs have diverged from their training in the English language to develop their own, more efficient language. While the resulting phrases from this condensed method of communication sound like gibberish to the human ear, they do in fact make semantic sense when interpreted by AI agents.

…

If AI continue to create their own languages, developers may have problems creating and adopting new neural networks, but it’s unclear whether this would allow machines to actually overrule their operators.

These new developments, however, allow AI to work more efficiently, and can benefit research teams in the long run if they put in the work to learn the new AI-created shorthand and stay up to date with this new method of communication.

Conclusion

What are your thoughts on this? Have we gone too far? Is a Terminator scenario just around the corner? Or is the advancement of technology in this manner just a natural part of our evolution as humans on this planet?

Around the corner? No. It seems the scenario is already in the lab waiting on us to fall asleep. And considering what Facebook and the other tech giants are up to, they may make the least competent defenders in this war.

Please read the whole thing at the Unz Review. All of it, about the movie and about the … shift in England, is interesting and/or quote worthy. The pertinent, angry part:

“People Should be Hung from Lampposts, They Should be Burned Alive, for What They’ve Done to Britain.”

Yes they should. In America and in the Continental nations too.

In a move to run off any man still left on campus Princeton currently seeks a “Interpersonal Violence Clinician and Men’s Engagement Manager:”

Are young men at Princeton University violent, aggressive, hyper-masculine, stalkers, or rapists?

A new position at the Ivy League institution indicates campus officials apparently think enough of its male students grapple with such problems that it warrants hiring a certified clinician dedicated to combating them.

The university is in the process of hiring an “Interpersonal Violence Clinician and Men’s Engagement Manager” who will work with a campus office called SHARE that’s dedicated to “survivors” of sexual harassment, assault, dating violence and stalking.

First they should change the title from Engagement MANager to something more progressive, more fitting, like “Gyne-ager” or Trans-ager.” And lose the “engagement” as well – sounds to active, too potentially masculine.

The new employee (will NOT be a straight, white man for certain) will need a background and degree in social justice work or womyn’s “studies” or some such BS. She or … It … will likely pull down six figures. The job of the new otherkin will be to aggressively hunt down and destroy the last vestiges of manliness at the former Ivy League University.

She or It should move immediately to kill the association with John Witherspoon, a signer of the manly Declaration of Independence. Far too masculine! Independence is date rape!

The persecution rolls on, unabated seemingly.

For all this social engineering garbage, Princeton charges the very reasonable yearly fee of $43,450 ($61,160, all frills included)! What a bargain!

A Washington, D.C. security bot, perhaps remorseful for previously maiming a human child, committed suicide in an office water fountain.

Not sure if Asimov covered this. If we can exploit this natural weakness, we may be able to defeat the mechanical menace.

Remember, robots hate us and want us all dead.

I hope it suffered.
