Lesson in the Evils of Government, number 11,897,654,365,114,701: Thousands of California soldiers forced to repay enlistment bonuses a decade after going to war. The LA Times:

Short of troops to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan a decade ago, the California National Guard enticed thousands of soldiers with bonuses of $15,000 or more to reenlist and go to war.

Now the Pentagon is demanding the money back.

Nearly 10,000 soldiers, many of whom served multiple combat tours, have been ordered to repay large enlistment bonuses — and slapped with interest charges, wage garnishments and tax liens if they refuse — after audits revealed widespread overpayments by the California Guard at the height of the wars last decade.

Investigations have determined that lack of oversight allowed for widespread fraud and mismanagement by California Guard officials under pressure to meet enlistment targets.

But soldiers say the military is reneging on 10-year-old agreements and imposing severe financial hardship on veterans whose only mistake was to accept bonuses offered when the Pentagon needed to fill the ranks.

“These bonuses were used to keep people in,” said Christopher Van Meter, a 42-year-old former Army captain and Iraq veteran from Manteca, Calif., who says he refinanced his home mortgage to repay $25,000 in reenlistment bonuses and $21,000 in student loan repayments that the Army says he should not have received. “People like me just got screwed.”

…

The problem offers a dark perspective on the Pentagon’s use of hefty cash incentives to fill its all-volunteer force during the longest era of warfare in the nation’s history.

Even Guard officials concede that taking back the money from military veterans is distasteful.

“At the end of the day, the soldiers ended up paying the largest price,” said Maj. Gen. Matthew Beevers, deputy commander of the California Guard. “We’d be more than happy to absolve these people of their debts. We just can’t do it. We’d be breaking the law.”

The soldiers were paid, paid the price, and then got screwed. That pretty sums up the ordinary run-in with the state.

This story serves as a stark warning. The California Guard, the Army, the Pentagon, the Treasury, and the rest of Washington are simply not to be trusted. Ever. With anything. Believe nothing they say. Do nothing the ask. Accept nothing they offer. Flee them. They are evil.

And the line about “breaking the law” is a bullsh!t excuse. They didn’t mind breaking the law to go to war without a declaration. Or based completely on lies. They didn’t mind breaking the law when the banksters needed people to die so they could illegally profit from funny money not controlled by Congress. Only now, and only concerning the little people, is the law and honesty in finance important.

How much, total, could these bonuses have cost? $15 Million? $50 Million? $1 Billion? Why so much effort and persecution over so trivial an amount – if they even know how much they’re after. This is, after all, the same sorry outfit that cannot account for $6.5 Trillion, misplaced they know not where. No matter, except where the pennies of the soldiers are concerned.

The soldiers should be concerned. First, with their paid status. “Soldier” means, from the ancient Roman world, one who is paid to fight for the government. The term derives from the Latin, solidus, “solid” currency, as was the pay to the legions.

payagent

“We’ll just need this back after your legs are blown off and your kids are in college.” Fallon.

The Founders favored militias as a superior form of defense. Militiamen, literally fighting for their homes and families, are the best way to defend a Republic or a free state. Paid, professional soldiers are the tools of monarchs, tyrants and empires. And our Empire pays, then demands the money back. Indian giving, to be politically incorrect.

Second, those California guardsmen and the rest of the concerned public, should look at the employment status of the Guard as a whole. A few still maintain the lie that the N.G. is the modern militia. In truth it is only a reserve force for the regular, standing Imperial military. About the same time the several States foolishly traded their representation, tax authority, and currency to the charlatans on the Potomac, they also legally gave up their militias. The replacement “defense forces” generally serve as little more than traffic directors and storm cleanup agents. All of the power went to D.C.

So it was, that in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina came calling, the people of the Gulf found themselves short on first responders. The Louisiana Guard, being at the time in federal service, was far away keeping the world safe for banking profits. Pathetically, but still thankfully, the first military assistance came to New Orleans from Mexico and Canada.

The third consideration is the usage of the professional military – not for defense, but for profiteering and international meddling.

The final consideration, obviously, is the lying, cheating, back-stabbing ways of the government. Why any can still come to volunteer for this fraudulent force is a mystery. They can’t all be in it for the transgender benefits.

As this story serves as a warning, so let it serve as a call to action for all those who “support the troops”. They should shake the halls of Congress until the injustice is abated.

They won’t. They will make less murmur than they did about the underlying illegal wars themselves – wars we’re still fighting fifteen years later and with no end in sight. Millions will march on, enthusiastically paying their taxes and voting to continue the fraud.

Perhaps these lessons are learned by a few.

Two Months. Twenty Five Years. What difference?

This morning I wrote about how the common people accept tyranny and, in fact, come to adore it. People in Iraq must be missing Saddam Hussein right about now. A mean man and a heavy-handed dictator he was. Brutal. But he didn’t tolerate terrorists in his country (outside his regime). And he didn’t lose cities to them.

Major operations are underway in Iraq at this moment to free Mosul from ISIS after two years of captivity. The battle is expected to take two months.

Forces east of Mosul also secured control over a significant stretch of the Irbil-Mosul road, a key strategic route, the General Command of Peshmerga Forces of Kurdistan Region said, while Iraq’s military declared that it had inflicted “heavy losses of life and equipment” on ISIS to the southeast.

It appeared US troops were at the back of the first column of Peshmerga to cross into ISIS-held territory at dawn Monday. The troops wore clothes consistent with US military — including one who wore a US flag patch on his arm — and were driving vehicles distinctive to US military.

For now, the Americans are mainly with Iraqi counterterrorism units and the Kurdish forces.

The United States, which lent advisers and air support, had earmarked about 500 of its nearly 5,000 service members in the country for the mission. Most are working on logistics, although there are also special operations forces among that number.

The United States still believes ISIS may try to use rudimentary mustard agent as a chemical weapon in the campaign’s final stages. There are reports of ISIS setting fires to oil and tire pits to try to use the smoke to obscure their locations from aircraft targeting them.

Our troops are in the rear with the gear. But they’re still there. We’re still there. We’re in Iraq, in basically the same stupid war, as we have been for the past twenty-five years. A quarter century of insanity.

A short history of U.S.-Iraqi “relations”:

  • During the 1980s Saddam was our ally as he opposed Iran. We have been meddling in Iran since the 1950s; nobody remembers why.
  • Despite posing no threat to the U.S., suddenly Saddam was the enemy (the 314th coming of Adolf Hitler, and not the last…);
  • The U.S. staged a pointless invasion of Iraq in 1991;
  • Between 1991 and 2003 the U.S. meddled constantly in Iraq, both militarily and economically;
  • In 2003 the U.S. fully re-invaded Iraq for reasons demonstrably fictional);
  • Iraq was occupied and Saddam was captured, “tried” and executed;
  • The occupation went on;
  • 1,000,000+ locals were killed, maimed or left homeless;
  • Some idiots chanted, “USA! USA! USA!”;
  • The banksters made a fortune;
  • Terrorist factions rapidly formed in Iraq;
  • The U.S. partially pulled out of Iraq leaving a corrupt and weak government and a power vacuum;
  • ISIS filled the vacuum, occupying Mosul (2014) and other cities and even attacked Baghdad;
  • More locals died;
  • The banksters made more money;
  • ISIS spread throughout the Middle East;
  • The U.S. launched more idiotic wars;
  • The banksters made more money;
  • More people died;
  • The Iraqi government, propped up by the U.S. began preparation to re-take Mosul;
  • And on and on and on…

Twenty five years. Thousands dead (ours and theirs). Hundreds of thousands wounded for life (ours and theirs). Hundreds of thousands homeless (we have homeless veterans in America by the thousands). Trillion$ we didn’t have in the first place down the drain. Terrorism spread like wildfire drunk on jet fuel. And all for absolutely nothing – nothing except making a sh!t ton of money for a bunch of criminals.

burning-oil-fields-resize

Iraqi oil fields burning, or American money fields burning. Hard to tell. Life / Google.

Imagine if we were still fighting the Nazis in the 1970s – all based on lies and with no point and no end in sight. Well, no, it’s not the same. Back then we fought to win. The banksters of the day profited but the profits stopped when the war ended. Today it’s all for the money and so the killing is ceaseless. Hillary may introduce the nuclear payout to the banking purse – at our great expense.

And people are excited about an election next month. The chance to impliedly or explicitly support more of the same Satanic evil and waste.

I can’t even remember why Saddam was the bad guy, suddenly, 25 years ago. Something about another little country that didn’t at all concern us. Or was it a corrupt Kingdom in the sands? Small matter now. As is, we’ll just have to accept fighting ISIS over there. Otherwise they might shoot up nightclubs, stab out malls, and bomb train stations here.

On The Money

Banker criminals (banksters) own and run the United States. They have almost complete control of the government. Any illusion of democracy and independent control by or for the people is just that, illusory.

Thanks to Vox Day and The New Republic for pointing this out: perhaps the biggest and most alarming bombshell in the Wikileaks Hillary file isn’t even about Hillary. It’s about how the banksters, Citibank in this case, control Washington from New York. Citi literally handed down a set of lists for nominees for cabinet officer and other high-level administrative positions.

The lists went to Podesta. Remember, this weekend I leave out all negative comments about Pres. Obama himself, he of the Cuban cigars, God bless him. This isn’t about him anyway, it’s about the owners of the nation and their rule over all things political. And those lists turned into the real cabinet – dead on the money:

The cabinet list ended up being almost entirely on the money. It correctly identified Eric Holder for the Justice Department, Janet Napolitano for Homeland Security, Robert Gates for Defense, Rahm Emanuel for chief of staff, Peter Orszag for the Office of Management and Budget, Arne Duncan for Education, Eric Shinseki for Veterans Affairs, Kathleen Sebelius for Health and Human Services, Melody Barnes for the Domestic Policy Council, and more. For the Treasury, three possibilities were on the list: Robert Rubin, Larry Summers, and Timothy Geithner.

This was October 6. The election was November 4. And yet Froman, an executive at Citigroup, which would ultimately become the recipient of the largest bailout from the federal government during the financial crisis, had mapped out virtually the entire Obama cabinet, a month before votes were counted. And according to the Froman/Podesta emails, lists were floating around even before that.

Congress and the President are extremely powerful. But the admin agencies run the government, day-to-day. Their regulations, their interpretations thereof and enforcement (or not) are what constitutes real federal law and power. And the banksters had these pre-picked before the 2008 election. These financial criminals appointed “your” government before you even voted. I say again, your vote means nothing. Literally. And something tells me they had another list in case the President had been a Republican.

Your walking into a voting booth isn’t how it works. This is:

nimbus-image-1476574804197

Email from banking criminal Mike Froman to political criminal John Podesta, Oct. 6, 2008.

You’ll note the lists are arranged in a manner to appease ardent Democratic diversity-mongers: women, blacks, Hispanics, Muslims, Jews, etc. Rest assured each and every name on the list was vetted to comply with the demands of the financial elite.

The banks were well compensated for this service, for putting together “your” government. Citi received nearly $500 Billion from Uncle Sam during the financial crisis bailouts – the most of any bank. And the Fed printed up and loaned fake money – effectively for free – to Citi and other banks (and not just American banks) to the tune of $15-20 Trillion.

In other words, they robbed you of your vote and your government. They robbed you of your currency and they robbed your children’s futures. That money may be fake but someday they will expect someone to pay it back – ain’t gonna be the banksters.

Please believe these people have a similar plan for this fall. I imagine the lists are already under consideration. There’s growing financial unrest again so it follows the printing presses are being revved up too.

How? Why? It’s because, as George Carlin put it, because they own this place; they own you. They’re going to get it all.

These are same thieves, the same clique of money changing Satanists that Jesus drove out of the Temple with a whip. “My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” Jesus, Matt. 21:13 (JKV). When was the last time your Priest or preacher mentioned that? When’s the last time they put it in a modern context. As Christ drove them from the Temple of the Lord, so we should drive them from America into the sea.

America, banksters, economics, terrorism, The West, War

This is a continuation and update of today’s earlier column, Economics , Common and Otherwise.

America came in at Number 11 in this year’s Economic Freedom Index by the Heritage Foundation. That’s in the “mostly free” category. The land of the (mostly) free…

I said that the rankings always jump out at me. And this year both the top set and the bottom set caught my eye, for opposite sides of the same reason.

Look at the “free” economies:

nimbus-image-1476028100397

Heritage.

The all have a few things in common if you think about it. They are all relatively small (by population) places and by and large they leave people alone. The Swiss are the most famous for it, but all of these countries generally do not meddle (beyond free trade) in the affairs of other nations. When was the last time Switzerland invaded somebody?

Now another look at those countries at the bottom, generally not even worth considering:

nimbus-image-1476028137624

Heritage.

With the exception of two of those “lowest” countries, the rest all have something in common. Did you guess what it is? Liechtenstein is a tiny nation populated almost exclusively by the wealthy. It might as well be placed alongside the top five – if the considerations were pure prosperity. It really is a class unto itself.

Sudan almost falls in with the rest of the international cellar-dwellers. It is a bloody mess though the problems are generally caused by islamists and cultural backward tendencies. Several powers, the U.S. included, have looked hard at Sudan as a meddling target but most have decided the situation lacks sufficient profit motives. There is hope for Sudan if its people are willing to attend to it. The situation is sad, but they did escape the fates of Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen.

All of those countries, over the past generation, have been in part or wholly destroyed by the U.S. Empire. Not one of them ever posed any credible threat to America. And our government’s actions against them benefited none outside of the major banks, the arms dealers, and the power-lusting political class.

Syria is still a work in progress. The Empire finds its plans disturbed by a man in Moscow.

As I said this morning, these things are all interconnected and relate to issues far beyond mere money. Before American intervention the hapless bottom countries had no way to project any type of force against the West. Now they do.

First, there is the real specter of war with Russia. The fools in and around D.C. and New York seem to be enjoying this game of nuclear chicken. Moscow has told Washington to cool it. The civil defense authorities in Russia have advised their people to prepare for war. the American sheep watch television, play pretend democracy, and whine about how water happens near the ocean.

There’s also abundant terrorism. There wasn’t before. There is now. And much of it (maybe not quite all) stems from these stupid little wars in places we don’t belong. America and Europe are hit again and again and again by ISIS. People almost regard it as the new normal.

Omar Mateen said his rampage in Orlando was the result of U.S. bombings in Iraq. French authorities have concluded the majority (7/9ths) of the Parisian terrorists (at least for November, 2015) were “refugees” from Syria. Gee, who would have thought it?

Several takeaways here:

  • We cannot defeat Russia in an all-out war;
  • We probably can’t beat them regionally in Syria;
  • The fools in D.C. are willing to kill huge masses of your sons trying to disprove the later and all of us to disprove the former;
  • Many of you will vote for these fools next month;
  • Radical islamists are savage and utterly incompatible with modern, Western civilization;
  • On their own the jihadis simply could not ever hurt us or even reach us;
  • Really, left to themselves, they would have little incentive to attack;
  • Our idiotic wars for profit and power give them the incentive;
  • Our brain-dead immigration policies allow them the invasion and revenge they could otherwise never even attempt;
  • You pay for all of this insanity;
  • Nothing is likely to change (except by gradually getting worse) for the foreseeable future;
  • The politicians hate you more than the jihadis; and
  • That television is to your brain what cheap beer and cheeseburgers are to your belly.

Earlier I pondered if many of your would contemplate these issues. It’s a Sunday and traffic is usually low this day but, judging by the paltry click rate on the previous article, the majority of you couldn’t be bothered.

I ventured out today and found not a few of you engrossed in the magic of the National Felons League. I’m not calling anyone out but I saw you. Willing participants in the live-enactment of Plato’s Cave. Staring at over-paid, overweight, mentally retarded, Anti-American, pink-clad felons of questionable sexuality and social worth playing with a ball. College and professional games today.

In between the flags, reviews, and agonizingly slow plays you were bombarded by the lowest and crudest forms of social propaganda. But, hey, it’s all fun, right? Or is it?

Next year Heritage will report roughly the exact same global conditions, we’ll have the same wars and idiot “leaders” and that same, stupid sh!t will be on the TeeVee.

Donald Trump said made some lewd comments about women in 2005. Or, was it comments about lewd women? He did preface, qualify, if you will, what he said with “if you’re a star, they let you get away with it.” He’s a star and they, the women, do let him and other stars get away with it. Certain women live to hang around celebrities and mine for easy gold. Certain men willingly facilitate.

Trump has lived like this for most of (maybe all of) his adult life. He’s rich, popular, an alpha male’s alpha male, and a playboy. He does it because he can.

Regardless, many are not happy. Some, even within the GOP, have called on Trump to drop out of the race, even at such a late hour. Others run the risk of looking a lot like hypocrites for defending Trump’s declarations (locker-room banter, chaps, nothing more) while previously condemning the same activity when committed by people named Wiener or Clinton.

Speaking of the Clintons, news came the same day that Hillary has made some disturbing comments of her own. Particularly, we have transcripts, once secret, from some of her (expensive) talks with Goldman Sachs executives. Her statements, then, were somewhat qualified as well.

She was Secretary of State from 2009 until 2013. In 2o11, the U.S., the U.K. and a few other countries plotted to get rid of Libya’s Gaddafi. The reasons were two-fold. First, the U.S. needed to arm its creations, ISIS and al-CIA-da, and it needed to do so covertly. Second, Gaddafi had approximately $200 Billion just sitting around; someone needed to grab it.

Backed by the CIA, the U.K. and France escalated the small Libyan civil war, which resulted in Gaddafi’s ouster and murder. Under cover, and approved by the Secretary, arms sales commenced region-wide. They continue now.

Hillary spoke to Goldman in 2013 as part of her part in the 2011 arrangement to round up the $200 Billion – the talks were for a portion of her compensation. There was an illicit transnational agreement to “share” the money. But! Treason! Those greedy Brits swooped in and stole all of it. It went into a “trust fund” – as in, you will never see this money again, TRUST us – in the name of the Libyan people. The Bank of England holds the cash in London and likely will forever.

Goldman was supposed to, allegedly, get some percentage of the money. They didn’t and they sued for recovery in England (where the money is). They will likely receive a $1 – 2 Billion settlement soon. The Brits will keep the lion’s share. Gaddafi is dead. The people of Libya are broke, leaderless, and besieged by terrorists. Turmoil reigns across the Middle East. Hillary is the Democratic nominee for President.

Some, even within the DNC, have called for her to step down, even at this late hour. Others risk looking a lot like hypocrites for defending Clinton (smart woman gettin’ paid!) while previously condemning similar actions committed by people named Bush or Hitler.

My point here is that none of this seems very presidential. I agree with those who say the candidates should step aside. In fact, let’s see if we can run for four years without an Executive. Heck, if that works, we can try scrapping the whole government. Spain is experimenting with this concept right now with encouraging results.

nimbus-image-1475973067756

Otherwise, your choices are: filth and near certain, potential corruption or filth and proven, systemic corruption. Good luck with that.

NFL viewership is in free-fall collapse and with good reason. If people are waking up, some of them may know that one of Europe’s largest banks is also collapsing. Deutsche bank is going under. This could have a dramatic effect on the EU and America also.

The 2015 annual report for Deutsche Bank runs to some 448 pages, so one rather doubts if even its CEO, John Cryan, has read it all, or has a complete grasp of, for example, its €42 trillion in total notional derivatives exposure.

Is Deutsche Bank technically insolvent? We’d suggest that it probably is, but we have no dog in the fight, having never either owned banks or shorted them. And like everybody else we assume that some kind of fix will soon be in – probably one that will further vindicate exposure to gold, both as money substitute and currency substitute. Professor Kevin Dowd, asking whether Deutsche Bank ist kaputt, suggests that the bank’s derivatives exposure is difficult to assess rationally; the value of its derivatives book

“is unreliable because many of its derivatives are valued using unreliable methods. Like many banks, Deutsche uses a three-level hierarchy to report the fair values of its assets. The most reliable, Level 1, applies to traded assets and fair-values them at their market prices. Level 2 assets (such as mortgage-backed securities) are not traded on open markets and are fair-valued using models calibrated to observable inputs such as other market prices. The murkiest, Level 3, applies to the most esoteric instruments (such as the more complex/illiquid Credit Default Swaps and Collateralized Debt Obligations) that are fair-valued using models not calibrated to market data – in practice, mark-to- myth. The scope for error and abuse is too obvious to need spelling out.”

42 Trillion Euros equals 47 Trillion Dollars. If that number is unreliable it still suggests a huge problem. And it’s one that your taxes will likely be called on to fix.

Speaking of theft … taxes, Apple is the biggest U.S. tax dodger (not Donald Trump). The software/SJW giant avoided paying $65 Billion in taxes for either the current year or last year. What a shame. That’s money that could have gone into the pockets of German speculators. We’ll just have to print money to cover for them.

In totally unrelated but much happier news Stephan Pastis will have a new compilation book out in November, Stephan’s Web:

9781449482022_frontcover

Pastis / McMeel Publishing.

It’s like Charlotte’s Web but sarcastically and self-deprecatingly humorous. Unlike Deutsch and Apple, it has real value.

Good and bad news on the terror front today.

The good news is Hussein Obama’s veto of the 9/11 Bill was soundly overridden. Now perhaps we can get some answers there.

The bad news: we got answers today about Omar Mateen’s shooting rampage in Orlando. The details are not pretty. The FBI finally released the rest of the 911/negotiation recording transcripts. The massacre was prompted, on ISIS’s behalf, by the drone killing of Abu Wahid and some other terrorists in Iraq. It also suggests Marteen was not necessarily a lone wolf. This is called blow back. It is facilitated by our crazed foreign policies and our suicidal immigration laws.

I was suspicious of the official lie…story all along.

Thirteen lines out of nearly half an hour of conversation was BS. Now we have the rest of the story (TRANSCRIPT).

nimbus-image-1475107780745

Free Beacon / Orlando PD / Justice Dept.[SIC]

This is what we get. This is what Geo. Washington warned us about. A product of needless wars and deadly population replacement. It is the result of our stupid, blind allegiance to the globalists, the banksters, the oil companies and the arms dealers. It is dead Americans; 49 that night as the negotiation went on.

How much is enough? Apparently for the maniacs in D.C. there is no such thing as too much war or too many dead people. They will keep on bombing and then import more angry savages, utterly incompatible with Western Civilization.

Some people get it. In response to my early post, Terrorism By The Numbers, a Facebook friend replied: “Can you imagine America taking in 100,000 German refugees *while* we were bombing Dresden?” That sums it up perfectly. We are attacking an enemy that wasn’t until we attacked, and in a place where we have no business. Then we bring the enemy here, unfettered. The results are predictable.

As our leaders have betrayed us, we must help ourselves. We can start by gunning down the next Omar Mateen before he gets started. Enough is enough.

The Financial Crisis Recovery Crisis

Remember the financial crisis? And I mean from your own personal experience. Of course you do. Now, remember the recovery – again from experience and not what the media and politicians lied about. That ones a little harder, eh? There wasn’t much of a recovery honestly.

Now the recovery in name only is in crisis. Historically we’re due for another recession at this point. And the next one will be carrying the baggage of the last in addition to new problems.

joker_money_burn

At least the Joker had a plan – chaos.

Like the fun from 2008, this next round will center on the funny money-inflated banking industry. Deutsche Bank will be playing the part of Lehman Brothers or AIG (or both).

Europe’s biggest lender Deutsche Bank has lost more than half of its value since January, posing a threat to the stability of other banks across the continent. Some analysts are worried it could invoke a large-scale crisis, bigger than in 2008.

After a massive sell-off on Monday, Deutsche Bank’s market value shrank to €14.5 billion. In dollar terms it is only $2 billion more than the $14 billion penalty the bank faces from the United States Department of Justice over its mortgage-backed securities business before the 2008 global crisis.

Deutsche’s problems have raised questions about the health of other big European lenders. The share price of the Royal Bank of Scotland has plunged 13 percent and Italy’s UniCredit is down 12 percent this month. The Bloomberg Europe 500 Banks and Financial Services Index is down 4.2 percent for September. This is the worst result since June, when the Brexit referendum heavily hit the markets.

The problems of Deutsche Bank are putting the German government in a difficult dilemma, as it must decide whether to save the bank, whose assets are valued at about €1.8 trillion, half the size of the German economy.

Get that? A crisis bigger than 2008. That’s because this one is still tainted by the problems of 2008 which were never dealt with.

Germany is working on a rescue plan but that is just for and because of one bank. What about the others?

There was a secret rescue of sorts after 2008. The Federal Reserve printed up and gave away (loaned to be technical) about $16 Trillion. All of it went to the banks. The banks did nothing with the money; I’ve talked about this before. Maybe a third of the fake cash was gifted to foreign banks – mainly European. The same banks that are in trouble again. The numbers are hard to figure but Deutsche got hundreds of Billion$.

But that doesn’t mean it didn’t accept government rescue money during the financial crisis. Consider the following:

  • As one of the largest counterparties of failed insurer AIG, Deutsche Bank received $11.8 billion of the funds used to bail out AIG. [2]
  • The Federal Reserve made emergency low-cost funds widely available to foreign as well as US member institutions through its discount window. Deutsche Bank was the second heaviest user of such funds, borrowing more than $2 billion. [3]
  • The Federal Reserve also created a program known as the Term Asset-Backed Securities Lending Facility, which allowed banks to use their assets, including troubled or hard-to-value assets, as collateral for short term loans. Deutsche Bank was the largest user of the program, sending the Fed more than $290 billion worth of mortgage securities.[4]

To most people, who don’t make fine distinctions among the particular government programs that funneled their tax dollars to financial institutions, this probably looks an awful lot like a bailout.

This has been on my radar since at least 2013. I focused on the derivatives bubble then. It’s amazing that it has lasted this long.

And, it can’t last much longer. This crisis will probably be the main story of this fall, rather than the clown-show of the U.S. election.

Sadly, the people “in charge” have no idea how to combat these problems, which they created. Their only solutions will be more of the same. For us, that means more suffering. prepare now; this could get very rough.

I Think The U.S. Government Wants A War With Russia

Or enough of them do to cause a mild concern.

I was thinking about a pleasant little fun article on fall getaways, now that autumn is finally here. I’ll get to that directly. However I think maybe trying to avert nuclear war is just a little more important.

The Whitehouse, the Congress and the Pentagon are run by the goddamdest bunch of homicidal, lunatic, idiotic fools ever hatched.

The U.S. is fighting a soft, undeclared war in Syria. The details are purposefully murky but it seems we are backing various terrorist organizations aligned (sometimes) with rebels fighting the Assad regime. As usual the motives behind this war are: keeping Tel Aviv happy; helping the military-industrial criminal complex turn a profit, and; helping Satanic banksters print fortunes out of thin digital air. A side benefit is that the war displaces and angers people, giving Washington and its European fiefs importable terror ammunition in their greater war on their own peoples.

The problem with this “splendid little war” is the Russian element. The Russians are backing Assad for their own reasons and are intent on stamping out radical Islamic terrorists. Their reasons for involvement are: stopping the spread of terrorism to Europe and Russia (kind of important) and; maintaining stability in the region where Russia has trade interests (Assad may not be the nicest guy but he does hold things together – or did until the U.S. started meddling). The U.S. interests are the four I cited above. Which one benefits you?

The U.S. and Russia reached a cease-fire agreement in an attempt to work out issues and end the war. Washington immediately violated the terms by bombing a national military convoy – a move supporting ISIS. The U.S. does this on a weekly basis. The same ISIS that shoots gays in Florida, stabs Christians in Minnesota, and bombs the handicapped in New York. Putin has concluded the people in and around D.C. are beyond insane and not trustworthy with a water gun. He may be on to something.

The new lie in D.C. is: We didn’t do it! Russia did. All the evidence points to the DOD/CIA but the fabrication points to Putin.

The American projectionist fantasy loonies are out in force:

At the U.N.:

The US accused Russia on Sunday of supporting “barbarism” over the bombing of the Syrian city of Aleppo as the west stepped up diplomatic pressure on Moscow.
Accusing Russia of supporting a Syrian regime offensive that has derailed a ceasefire agreement negotiated between Washington and Moscow, Samantha Power, US ambassador to the UN, said Russian and Syrian forces were “laying waste to what is left of an iconic Middle Eastern city”.

In a blistering speech to an emergency UN Security Council meeting, Ms Power said: “Instead of pursuing peace, Russia and Assad make war.”

While Moscow was likely to argue that it was pursuing terrorists in Syria, she said that “Russia is espousing fiction”. “What Russia is sponsoring and doing is not counterterrorism; it is barbarism,” she added.

This is the Ivy-League, Irish, Anti-American, delusional, puesdo-academic, political hack of a harpy calling the traditional, Western Civilization defenders barbarians. It’s like the pot calling the kettle black only that the pot is smoking pot and the kettle is an intelligent, responsible government bewildered by the brazen stupidity of the pot.

It’s worse in D.C., where Defense Criminal Ash Carter and Marine Corps Crony Joseph Dunford met with the Arkham Asylum Committee of the Senate. The low-rent discussion centered on the recent bombing and cover-up lies.

Both of these tax-paid morons admitted they “had no facts” about the convoy bombs. However, they were armed with a healthy dose of neurotic fantasy.

“‘Not only our people – our defense industry partners, too, need stability and longer-term plans to be as efficient and cutting-edge as we need them to be,’ Carter told the senators.” How nice of him to think of the MIC at a time like thi$.

Carter, as crazy as any I have ever heard of, responded to the prissiest Senator in Washington, Lindsey Graham, that “the Russians are responsible for this strike whether they conducted it or not…” Whisky Tango Foxtrot? Again, those facts things…

Dunford, feeling left out of the madness, piped up about a “no-fly” zone: “Right now… for us to control all of the airspace in Syria would require us to go to war against Syria and Russia.” A war with Russia. From the same people who couldn’t beat nine lightly armed goat-herds in Afghanistan. Brilliant! Dunford effectively made the argument that D.C. is a “no-thought” zone.

Stirred out of his angry stupor Sen. McCain argued we could impose a zone without war. He has direct experience with the subject, having himself so deftly navigated such a zone in war previously.

One thing no one talked about is that America has absolutely no business in Syria whatsoever. None. Well, no legitimate interest. Sure banks and our defense industry “partners” need some more money. Sure we do get jihadi shooters in the women’s department at Macy’s. People get killed there and here. But are these really worth our time? Worth our lives?

Duck and cover is retro cool!

It would be one thing if this were another Iraq, Afghanistan or Libya. It’s not. “War against Syria AND RUSSIA!” Russia has nukes and the ability to get them to America in a hurry. They’re conventional forces ain’t too shabby either. These reasons have long prevented war with Russia. However, today, there is a new breed of stupid on the Potomac.

For more information, see Fred Reed’s analysis of the situation: Hillary, Trump, and War with Russia: The Goddamdest Stupid Idea I Have Ever Heard, and I Have Lived in Washington.

There really is no point in contacting “your” elected officials. They’re not yours and they’re crazy besides. “Your” two presidential choices each offer more of the insane same. Bought and paid for.

You’re only choices are: 1) write a letter to Putin and plead for his understanding; 2) build a fallout bunker in Idaho; 3) pray that the Lord deliver us from this nightmare and these reprobates.

Or you could just keep you’re head in the TeeVee. Keep watching overweight, low-IQ, millionaire felons who hate you play with a ball.

PS: A preview of my fall recommendations: the mountains, the mountains, the beach, a sea-side villa, and the mountains. The younger males among you might plan a trip to Syria if things go ill.

Record Taxes, Record Debts

More credit given where and when due: Hussein Obama is the greatest tax collector in the history of America, probably the world. Through last month Obama has raised $20,197,437,000,000 during his two terms in office.

That sum is, theoretically, more than enough to pay of the government’s (on-books) debt. That would leave nothing with which to operate the government. Horror!

Of course the debt was half of what it is now when Obama first took office. Had the government operated at Constitutional levels, there would have been plenty and to spare to completely pay off the debt before now.

This also means that Obama raises enough money each year via real taxation to run the federal leviathan at 2000 levels without any debt at all. Didn’t they get by in 2000? Why can’t they make do with that kind of spending now. Ron Paul officially raised that question back when there was still time to elect him president. That idea did not sit well with the criminals at the Federal Reserve.

Now Donald Trump is actually making similar noise:

To wit, Yellen is still sitting on interest rates at the zero bound after 93 months for one simple reason. Even in the context of an economic recovery that is now allegedly so complete that we are actually on the cusp of full employment, according to Vice-Chairman Stanley Fischer, she is deathly fearful of a hissy fit on Wall Street, as was foreshadowed by last Friday’s sharp sell-off.

Opined the Donald:

“She’s obviously political and she is doing what [President Barack] Obama wants her to do,” Trump said in an interview on CNBC. Trump predicted that the market is going to “go way down” as soon as interest rates go up.

“I believe it is a false market because money is essentially free,” Trump said.

He got that right but needs to take it a step further. At the same time that the Fed continues placating Wall Street gamblers with an unending stint of free carry trade funding that has self-evidently not generated real breadwinners jobs or higher real incomes in Flyover America, savers and retirees continue to be pounded.

In fact, our unelected monetary politburo is causing upwards of $300 billion per year to be transferred from savers to the banks and the financial system owing to its senseless pursuit of 2.00% inflation via pegging the money market interest rate on the zero-bound.

All Donald has to do to get my endorsement is to call for the abolition of the Fed. Well, that and promise to drive the banksters into the sea. He won’t, of course. The game will go on a little while longer.

Somewhere on Google.

There are no plans to pay off the debt. It is in fact un-payoff-able by design. One day all that red ink will have to be repudiated or written off. We might as well look at that reality now. I say cancel the debt – cancel all debts. And make debt illegal. Make issuing usurious debt a capital felony. There oughta be a law!

Otherwise, by 2024, Trump will hold the tax collection record while presiding over a $40-50 Trillion (on-books) debt. These are dubious records – like the highest score on the golf course.

That’s what I’m Yellin’ bout.
