So, last week we examined some claims of coming leftist violence in America. For a Republican, Mo Brooks is looking more and more like a prophet.

California Antifa Pushes Lynching, Military Actions, Maoist Violence

An antifa group in Los Angeles celebrated May Day by holding a small march, hanging a Trump effigy, and advocating for “revolutionary violence” against the “capitalist state” in order to “create real political power.”

“We must carry out military actions against the enemies of the people!” a member of the L.A. cell of the Red Guards said in a speech published on the group’s blog.

The Red Guards is a Maoist group that hopes to duplicate in the United States the anarchy and terror Chairman Mao’s Red Guards inflicted on China during the Cultural Revolution of the 1960s and 1970s. The group also identifies as “antifascist” and has cells throughout the United States.

So progressive. Peacefull. Logical!

Mao is the number one mass murderer of all time, 50-80 million, depending on how it’s tallied. One may wonder what the LA Reds have in mind for us.

Thank God for guns!

Readin, Ritin, and Rithmetic … Gone With the West

America, college, education, failure, math, Oregon, reading, schools, students

Knowing the colleges today, it wasn’t at all surprising to hear that the Reed College (OR) infestation known as “Reedies Against Racism” are successfully purging the white Western authors out of a Western Civ class. “Readin’ be raciss!” is, I think, their cry.

In another, saner age, tossing the Greeks and Romans out of any intro to humanities class would have amounted to heresy, idiocy, and intolerable intellectual dishonesty. Now it’s trendy.

And it really doesn’t matter much. Or it won’t in a few years. If the patterns in secondary education (here meaning middle junior high and high schools) hold, then none of the very near future “students” will be able to read. Or comprehend basic math.

Hot on the heels of NAEP news about high school seniors being ignoramuses, and the schools being utter frauds, comes more news of a similar sort:

America’s Eighth Graders Illiterate, Cipher Worse than Jethro Bodine:

Sixty-five percent of the eighth graders in American public schools in 2017 were not proficient in reading and 67 percent were not proficient in mathematics, according to the National Assessment of Educational Progress test results released by the U.S. Department of Education.

The results are far worse for students enrolled in some urban districts.

Among the 27 large urban districts for which the Department of Education published 2017 NAEP test scores, the Detroit public schools had the lowest percentage of students who scored proficient or better in math and the lowest percentage who scored proficient or better in reading.

Only 5 percent of Detroit public-school eighth graders were proficient or better in math. Only 7 percent were proficient or better in reading.

One honestly has to ask, with 5 and 7 percent competency rates, what the hell is the point? Imported from Detroit? No thanks, you can keep it.

In perspective and preemptive answer to the “need more money” malarkey: in 2017 Detroit registered 45,511 “students”. Their 2017 budget totaled $638.4 million. See: 2017 Budget, as Adopted. That means, and I know this would be hard for Detroit eighth graders to grasp, they spent $14,027.38 per student. For the “.38” I rounded up, which means … nevermind.

WaPo said the US average spending per student was $10,700 in 2013. A run through the old CPI calculator gives a 2017 average of $11,283. (A Calculator is this thing invented by white Western racists to … nevermind).

Thus, and I know this is really hard, Detroit spent 124% the national average on each of its “students.” That’s 24% more. “2” and “4” are even numbers. “%” means “percentage,” per-cent-age. That’s a proportional relationship between numbers. Consult Archimedes, Ptolemy, or Newton. No, don’t consult them, the Reedies say not to…

To make this as plain as possible: Detroit spent more on its “students” and still got laughable results.

How many Detroit teachers were fired for this atrocity? My guess is somewhere close to zero. Zero – which, in a year or two, may equal the exact number of Detroit “students” who can read their own names and recite their own ages without resort to digital summation.

*See: I use a little sarcastic humor in an attempt to lighten up what is otherwise complete and utter depressing bullshit. Not working, is it?*

Not much works, nationwide. A chart of State reading readiness:

chartrankingreading1

CNS.

Way to go, Taxachusetts! Just a wee bit more effort and a tiny fractional majority (so sorry for the continued rubbing in of the advanced calculus-speak) of the young mushheads will get the nuances of Sally, Dick, and Jane and their tireless work running Spot.

Mississippi: At Least We Ain’t New Mexico!

New Mexico: You’re a disgrace to Old Mexico. (Seriously, MX had a 94.47%  literacy rate in 2017).

Working, toying with the myth that increased funding raises test scores (and, presumably, learning retention), to get Detroit up to Mexican levels of literacy, they would need to spend about $189,000 per student per year. Over 13 years, K – 12, that’s $2,457,000 – without compounding any interest. It might be, if it was affordable, better to just set that sum aside for each “student” in an idiot trust.

Either way, the idiot part seems certain.

Now, this isn’t to condemn all education in America, even the government-sponsored variety. But it sheds light on a dark, disturbing subject.

In contrast, homeschool parents spend around $900 per year for each of their students (not in quotes). I don’t know what level of competency they get for that kind of money but I’ll bet it’s better than 7%. Better than 49%. Probably on par with Mexican standards.

How to fix this?

Abolish the schools. Or defund the fire out of them. Or watch the spiral continue to the point that SJW projectionist racists won’t even know what to be outraged by next. Think of the SJWs “students” children.

The other day Rep. Mo Brooks was predicting more leftist violence.

Today, in the weekly roundup, Taki’s Mag provides a little more evidence Mo may be on to something: the ravings of a hefty California public employee, name of Randa Jarrar:

[Some banal vulgarity and general whitey hating]….I don’t give a fuck. I’m buying guns….I’m going to do some stupid shit. I’m tired of being the bigger person….I’m also just tired of the left being stupid….Why is [Richard] Spencer’s house still standing? I don’t understand. Like, it needs to be fucking broken into. People need to fucking throw grenades into it. I don’t give a fuck.

DO. NOT. WORRY. She still has her tenured job teaching donut eating or something. No investigation. No intervention. She’s diverse and therefore free to spread the same idiotic, violent threats that the left complained about not being investigated just before the Parkland shooting. Actually, they do a lot of the same stuff they complain about.

In their defense, they are a depressed lot. Many are still not over the collapse of the Soviet Union. Now, with North Korea poised to fall, they may become unhinged. Get them some lithium or something before they do start throwing grenades. #grenadecontrol?

Political Tea Leaves in the Culture War

Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama claims a horde of GOP House members are quitting over assassination fears. He may only make an excuse for the swinging of the old pendulum. Or he may be on to something.

He also said the “socialist Bernie Sanders wing of society” was pushing for a revolution that would lead to Maoist level of violence.

“There are a growing number of leftists who believe the way to resolve this is not at the ballot box but through threats and sometimes through violence and assassinations,” he said.

If true, this is the result of a turning point Pat Buchanan says happened 50 years ago.

They’re certainly interesting times, these.

Walter Williams on the Fraud of American Education

America, education, failure, IQ, schools, society, students, Walter Williams

“Fraud” is the right word. The right “F” word, even more than “failed” or that other one.

The results from the 2017 National Assessment of Educational Progress,  America’s “Report Card,” are staggering:

It’s not a pretty story. Only 37 percent of 12th-graders tested proficient or better in reading, and only 25 percent did so in math. Among black students, only 17 percent tested proficient or better in reading, and just 7 percent reached at least a proficient level in math.

The atrocious NAEP performance is only a fraction of the bad news. Nationally, our high school graduation rate is over 80 percent. That means high school diplomas, which attest that these students can read and compute at a 12th-grade level, are conferred when 63 percent are not proficient in reading and 75 percent are not proficient in math. For blacks, the news is worse. Roughly 75 percent of black students received high school diplomas attesting that they could read and compute at the 12th-grade level. However, 83 percent could not read at that level, and 93 percent could not do math at that level. It’s grossly dishonest for the education establishment and politicians to boast about unprecedented graduation rates when the high school diplomas, for the most part, do not represent academic achievement. At best, they certify attendance.

Summarized in a sentence: Two-thirds of American high school graduates are functionally illiterate. This should shock and dismay more than just the writing set.

The people almost seem okay with this. It’s like another great George Carlin skit:

Carlin/YouTube.

America’s national average IQ is falling decade by decade. This even as the children suffer more and more “education.” Some, like Georgia’s potential next Governor, Stacey Abrams (a great fiction writer, BTW), want universal, “free” college for everyone. What’s the point. Why go to college or even to high school if the result is a majority that can’t read or do basic math?

Various peoples of the older world had less formal education but were on average smarter than modern Americans. Such was the case in Victorian England. The verbosity and concomitant popularity of Varney the Vampire bears this out: what would be a “difficult” read by today’s low standards was immensely popular with the street urchin, drop-out boys and young men on the streets of 19th century London. Why? How?

It’s not definitively provable but it is suspected that the average IQ in Plato’s Athens was around 125 (SB or Wechsler) – 2 standard deviations above America’s average today (maybe three above tomorrow…). That was the average, with half being even higher. How many standardized tests were those kids back then subjected to? None, likely.

And as our system continues to fail and to fail more spectacularly, the only answer from the establishment is more and more of the same.

We’ll get more of the same on all fronts. More fraud. More failure. Look for it in next year’s report card.

I Was Wrong About Guns

This is embarrassing, really, but it is important to correct one’s errors. I apologize in advance if I’ve misled anyone.

For a long time I’ve been countering hysterical, communist gun control lies with a set of statistics. Chief among them was the claim that guns save roughly 1 million American lives each year. That’s simply not true.

They save 2 MILLION. Every. Single. Year.

The CDC said so (or would have, if they didn’t have an agenda):

An unpublished Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study confirms Florida State University criminologist Gary Kleck’s findings of more than two million defensive handgun uses (DGUs) per year.

Since the early 1990s, Kleck has maintained that there is a minimum of 760,000 DGUs annually. That is his low estimate; Kleck and research partner Marc Gertz have contended the actual number is closer to 2.5 million.

Kleck reaffirmed his numbers on February 17, 2015, explaining that while plenty of naysayers have criticized his findings, none have been able to offer empirical evidence to counter them.

Now, a CDC study conducted on data from 1996, 1997, and 1998 has been uncovered. The study, which was never released to the public, shows approximately 2.46 million DGUs per year.

Or it is 2.5 Million? Regardless, this was a government study so it cannot be questioned. The failure to publish can’t really be criticized either – the agenda and all.

In my defense I settled on the erroneous 1 million out of an abundance of statistical caution. It seemed a safe round off point. Now that I know better, it’s 2 million from now on. That’s about one life saved, one defensive usage, every 15 seconds. I wonder if Young Hogg will mention that in his forthcoming book? Guessing, and I could be wrong, that’s a big “no.”

Zuck It Up: On the Meeting of a Social Mogul and the Contemptible Congress

Br’re Fox and Br’er Bear Outwit Br’er Rabbit

…

The great concern of the people is that Facebook violated their privacy and misappropriated their cherished personal information: email addresses, voting habits, cat pictures, etc. Zuckerberg admitted as much, roundaboutly. Hence, the popular clamor for regulation: if not from Big Social, then by Big Brother.

Now for my funny, impromptu thought. Remember Uncle Remus? Surely your parents read to you those beloved moral stories by Joel Chandler Harris. It seems to me that what I witnessed on the Tube was, literally, a meeting between a sly, elitist, globalist corporatist and a bunch of mid-witted, elitist, globalist statists. Allegorically, I saw an Uncle Remus tale unfold.

The American people played the part of Br’er Rabbit. Facebook and Zuck represented Br’er Fox. Uncle Sam was Br’er Bear. Play along here… The happy little rabbit, while busily posting meal pictures and juvenile memes, noticed the mean old fox was cheating him. Incensed, the rabbit angrily demanded action, either from the fox or from Br’er Bear. In other words the hapless bunny tattled on the small predator to the large predator. Seems risky to me.

The US, UK, and France bombed Syria overnight.

Someone said there was proof of a gas attack there. Don’t look forward to ever seeing it. There may have been an attack. The boy may have seen a real wolf. And it may have been carried out by Assad. And that might have been our problem if it hadn’t possibly, maybe, kinda, sorta happened over there. A Syrian attack against New York or Tennessee would be a different thing entirely.

As is, Damascus is some 5,900 miles away from Washington. Whatever happens there, it should not be our problem. The Trump used to think and say as much.

The Trump/Twitter.

Seems it is now…

An optimistic note: These actions will hopefully not lead to full-blown nuclear war. More likely, they are semi-calculated pin pricks just to let the world know how tough America is. Tough looks a lot like stupid. Rumor has it that high level talks are already underway between Russia, the West, and the rest of the meddlers to avert major disaster.

Developing…and poorly…

America, Christianity, culture, firearms, GTFO!, gun control, hate, NFL, normal, society, The West, women

They still call this country-shaped place “America” though the shenanigans sometimes cause doubt.

Take the NFL (please!). The F is supposed to stand for “football.” Once upon a time that was a manly American sport. The post-American NFL seems to shun all things: manly, American, decent, normal, noncriminal, and free. Oh, they also shun Christian virgins too.

A former Miami Dolphins cheerleader claims that she was discriminated against by the team and the NFL for talking about her Christian faith — and mocked after she admitted that she was a virgin.

Kristan Ann Ware, who cheered on the Dolphins for three years, charged in a complaint filed with the Florida Commission on Human Relations that the workplace turned hostile after she told some of her fellow cheerleaders that she was waiting until she was married to have sex.

It got even worse, Ware charged, when she posted an image of her baptism along with a Bible verse on social media.

“Let’s talk about your virginity,” cheerleader director Dorie Grogan allegedly said when Ware arrived for an interview for returning dancers in April 2016, according to the complaint. “As far as we are concerned you have taken something that was once upon a time pure and beautiful and you’ve made it dirty.”

Ware, who is no longer with the Dolphins, is now seeking arbitration from the Florida commission and a meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. She said female cheerleaders should be allowed to express their faith publicly the way the male players do.

Even if she misses the job she must look much better without those gaudy anti-American, anti-Christian, anti-Western rags. Getty/CBS.

According to the Dolphins, stating the fact of one’s virginity makes it dirty? Really? Was it that, or the Baptism, or both? I’m sure that had Ware identified as a gun controlling, Hindu, Hobbit, non-binary, sodomite, she would have received some sort of award. “Three cheers for our new captain!” Any arbitrator worth his salt will order Badell, Kraft, Peter King, the freaks, and the thugs on the first boat out. And why haven’t we heard from the DOJ Office on Violence Against Women, the UN Commission on Human Rights, the NOW gang, and the #metoo brigade? Odd.

Those Americans, over forty, proud, and sane, might also find it odd that assorted lowlifes willfully attack another beautiful young woman for expressing her faith and pride in the Second Amendment.

A University of Tennessee Chattanooga senior’s graduation photo has generated controversy on social media. In the photo, Brenna Spencer is seen wearing a bright pink “Women for Trump” T-shirt with white jeans. A black handgun is tucked into her waistband.

Spencer shared the photo on Twitter Saturday and captioned the post: “I don’t take normal college graduation photos.”

I, for one, haven’t the faintest idea what’s controversial about any of this, except that I also don’t see anything about the photo as abnormal. Oh, wait. We’re in post-America now… Some non-Americans chimed in. I bet that had the shirt been a “F*ck Trump!” model they might have been more accepting. Anyway, their drivel:

@DadForChange:
Using a gun to make a political point is irresponsible gun ownership.

@Jasminleroy1:
Hmm..heres a question, what point are you trying to make by sticking a gun in your pants, I would think you want to irritate others and enhance your political point.. Are you going to use the gun( because that’s why they were made). I’m sorry but I’m confused by your ignorance.

@Eldergothfather:
If you had chosen to brandish your most valuable asset we’d be looking at your brain, we’d be seeing you accomplish something for humanity. Instead you chose a an extension which you think makes you who you are. It does not.

@keithboykin:
I don’t know anything about Brenna Spencer and don’t care if she wears a “Women for Trump” t-shirt while strapped with a gun. What bothers me is the reflexive racism that allows people to see Spencer as a “patriot” but to see an armed black woman or man as a criminal threat.

I’m not sure if the lovely Ms. Spencer or her followers wasted time replying to these wastes of oxygen. I happen to have a few seconds to spare, so:

Dad: There’s a lot of exciting change in North Korea, Sudan, Iran, etc. Why not go be happy somewhere else?

Jasmine: You’re confused and irritated but something stinks, little flower, and I think it’s you.

Goth Boy: I’m sure her pistol has done more for humanity than all the black-clad, sad-face freaks in all of history. And certainly more than yours.

Keith (kudos for using what seems like a real name): It’s not 1850 anymore. No one cares. Maybe, as he heads to his own greener pasture, Dad could drop you off in Mugabe Land or somewhere.

All: Great! As the NFL hates Christians, so you hate free, armed, attractive young women. Got it. I note that, the First Amendment being a relic of the 18th Century, you have absolutely no right to express your opinions like this. Kindly cease and desist. Furthermore: Go to Hell!

nimbus-image-1523656962985

I find this normal and more than a little alluring. Watch out, Dana Loesch! Twitter.

If this “highly respected web log” hadn’t blown the budget on cigars and hydrazine, then I would heartily offer these young ladies employment here. As is, I offer them the most sincere respect for being who they are. I accept them. If you can’t, if you can’t abide beautiful women, American, Christian, and free, then you are worse than a bigot. Literally worse than Hitler. Knock it off.
