The Game’s Afoot

One might recall various leftist figures (Maxine!) calling their myrmidons to go forth and harass the heck out of the other side. Now it seems that both sides can play that. San Fran Gran Nan learned the lesson recently.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was hounded by a group of protesters in Florida — with some cursing and calling her a “communist.”

Video of the confrontation shows the small group of hecklers shouting obscenities and calling Pelosi (D-Calif.) a communist in English and Spanish as she walks into a Wednesday campaign event for congressional hopeful Donna Shalala in Coral Gables.

“You don’t belong here, you f–king communist f—,” one person howls. “You and your f–king Democrats.”

When Pelosi wordlessly walks by and enters the building, the protesters start pounding on the door.

While “socialism sucks” might be a worthy chant, this isn’t exactly fostering of that e pluribus unum.

Multa de chao!

This kind of goes back to the old 53% statistic. Or the Justice K show trial. Is it possible men can be something other than oppressors? Even the opposite of that?

Washington (AFP) – The notion that it is dangerous to be an American man in the #MeToo era took off during the angry debate over Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

But tossing more fuel onto the fire were a sarcastic tirade from Donald Trump and a painfully awkward tweet from a seemingly over-anxious mother.

On the day Kavanaugh was sworn in as the junior justice to the high court, Pieter Hanson’s mother posted a message on the social media network comparing the plight of the jurist — who had vigorously denied allegations of sexual aggression — to the dating challenges facing her 32-year-old son.

Under the hashtag #HimToo, she said her son was refusing to go on “solo dates due to the current climate of false sexual accusations by radical feminists with an axe to grind.”

1) Unless it comes from Donald Trump, I find anything on Twitter idiotic and/or suspicious. Doubly so for “mom’s” plea Tweet.

2) Sailer Jerry has already cucked hard. He may be okay, but he’s not Judge K.

However, I find the sentiment of the story plausible, probable. Another case of modern liberal, cannibal PC dining on itself. See also, the spectacle and mockery visited upon Kanye West, as told best, here, by Jim Goad.

If they’re not GITMO’d fast, Killary and Pocahontas may announce (failing) bids for 2020. Any word from Giant Meteor??

Camille Paglia, internet, PC, society

Before someone hits the internet kill switch, watch this Camille Paglia video:

Wherein she drops bombs on everything PC:

Her focus is, of course, second wave feminism, but she’s really talking about everything modern. Carpet bombing it rather!

Not so much dying as rotting. Thus, the smell and putrid look.

The ever-surprising Camille Paglia addresses one noticeable facet, the mainly female obsession with posting idiocy on Insta and other social spy sites.

One of the greatest photographs ever taken of a Hollywood star was Edward Steichen’s 1924 close-up of Gloria Swanson through a lavishly embroidered black veil. It conveys tremendous power, dignity and enigmatic reserve. If women want respect in society, they must do their part to raise their own value. Stop throwing it away on empty display.

Yeah. Kim K. has those ass-ets. But(t) all the time??? Hmmm. Paglia also roundaboutly admits a few of the faults of her g-g-g-generation. Those faults have infected subsequent generations with predictable results.

The pitiful, moronic state of the socials I partly covered in today’s PNW:

Perrin/YouTube.

The #MeToo mania, helpful to some I’m sure, has also helped fuel the decline. Today, women who do not report alleged crimes to the police, happily report them to SJW shame lists. Defamation is a real thing as some young women are now finding out. The aggrieved boy in the last link, I don’t like his odds. His story is probably true. But few care, as evidenced by the DA’s actions and those of the “school.” Tisk.

Back on the socials, I just today deleted by Gab account. Two years ago I hailed Gab and the free and intelligent alternative to Twitter. It isn’t. The only viable options to the socials might be going social free. You know, like we were only 20 years ago.

But you, you with the cat videos, you stay on FB. Perfectly safe and sane.

Possible wrap for the week.

Needed badly.

I’ve been aggregating material together on two different topics. Not sure where any of it will go, if goes they does…

Anyway, the following article/video is part of one would be subject-thread. It’s about Priest abuse. Not the garden variety that garners decades of coverup and celebrity excuses. This one involves a Priest being run into hiding by death and torture threats – all for actually doing his job.

Please CLICK HERE and Watch

The whole thing is sickening. Pay attention around 2:23 in, where Fr. Kalchik says his experience is, “par for many in the near future.” Listen to that again. Please share this story.

Many now speak of an inquisition against the dark forces of modernity in the Church. Yet, as this experience demonstrates, the first salvo may come against the Faithful.

The time has come to turn the tables.

UPDATE: On the other (limp-wristed) hand, we could listen to cucks like THIS GUY and just roll over. That seems to have worked well in Detroit and Zimbabwe. Proof some Irish Catholics still haven’t assimilated 150 – 200 years in.

Violence, unwarranted and unjustified, is wrong.

Who is more likely to be victimized by teen dating violence? If you’re quick to think it’s girls, new data shows you’re wrong. In a surprising twist, recently published research indicates boys are more likely to report being victims of dating violence committed by partners who hit, slap or push them.

Researchers with the University of British Columbia (UBC) and Simon Fraser University (SFU) conducted a longitudinal study of dating violence. While reports of physical abuse went down over time, they say there is a troubling gender-related trend.

Five percent of teens reported physical abuse from their dating partners in 2013, down from 6 percent in 2003. But in the last year, 5.8 percent of boys reported dating violence compared to 4.2 percent of girls.

“It could be that it’s still socially acceptable for girls to hit or slap boys in dating relationships,” says lead author Catherine Shaffer, a PhD student with SFU, in a release. “This has been found in studies of adolescents in other countries as well.”

It is substantiated by multiple studies from multiple countries. But it is not limited to teens. The consensus number is 53% – a slight majority – of “domestic” violence victims are males. Men are also the majority of victims of other violence. That patriarchal privilege or something. A dollar to a donut the Canadian study, like others, found that the 5.8 and 4.2 stats are skewed as men tend to underreport while women overreport.

We don’t blame victims unless they’re men, then it’s their fault. All that toxic masculinity.

Brown’s program is part of a growing trend on campuses to address “toxic masculinity,” a term generally defined as elements of masculinity that encourage dominance and prevent men from showing emotion.

Some experts identify this as a root cause of #MeToo issues. They say it can lead to self-detrimental, sexist and sometimes violent behavior, including sexual assault.

The behavior and attitudes of young men at educational institutions is under particular scrutiny as prospective Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh faces accusations of sexual impropriety dating back to his high school years.

Many of the programs on campuses report new energy since the #MeToo movement began, while some unlikely campuses have addressed the issue for the first time because of #MeToo.

Neil Irvin is the executive director of Men Can Stop Rape, a non-profit that runs training for men, including on college campuses, on stopping sexual assault. He said it’s crucial that men break down harmful norms of masculinity.

Maybe there’s some truth to some of this. Maybe men would be better off embracing their inner witch feminine whatever. Like this:

Away from cars:

Did you know the average cost of car insurance for a 16-year-old is almost $3,000 annually? This assumes assuming no tickets, no accidents and a good scholastic record. Yes, they actually check the kid’s grades and use that as a metric for determining his “risk profile,” just as adult drivers are dunned by the insurance mafia if their credit score isn’t top-shelf, regardless of their driving record.

So, a $250 per month cost-of-entry before the car even leaves the driveway. Before the kid puts gas in the thing.

…

Faced with this extortion – and that’s exactly the right word; there’s no choice about paying the $250 per month, if the kid wants to drive legally – many simply opt out. A record-high percentage of 16-25-year-olds haven’t even got a driver’s license and forget the car. They stay home instead, game and text. When they need to get somewhere, they ride share or Uber or something that doesn’t require them to spend a minimum of 20-25 hours working at minimum wage (currently $7.25 per hour) gig hauling pizzas or some such just to tithe the mafia.

Towards Insanity:

New survey shows 75 percent of students at U.S. colleges have battled significant stress in the past year, leading 1 in 5 to consider suicide

BOSTON — For some, it’s the best four years of their lives. For others, it’s a period of constant struggle, whether academically, socially, or both. College brings about new experiences and challenges for young adults that can be difficult to adapt to and overcome, so perhaps it’s no surprise that a new study reports high rates of stress and mental health conditions among students.

The newly-published report out of Brigham and Women’s Hospital shows that a quarter of college students received were diagnosed with a mental health condition in the past year, and a fifth have had suicidal thoughts.

Maybe it’s just me but it seems like the old days (you know, waaaaaay back in the 70’s and 80’s) weren’t that bad. 16 was drive time and people were a little more … normal. Anyone for going back to that?

Over 40 crowd, remember when it was different? John Whitehead lists some of the more outrageous problems faced by young Americans today, courtesy of Lew Rockwell’s site:

…

By the time the average young person in America finishes their public school education, nearly one out of every three of them will have been arrested.

More than 3 million students are suspended or expelled from schools every year, often for minor misbehavior, such as “disruptive behavior” or “insubordination.”

Black students are three times more likely than white students to face suspension and expulsion.

Zero tolerance policies that were intended to make schools safer by discouraging the use of actual drugs and weapons by students have turned students into suspects to be treated as criminals by school officials and law enforcement alike, while criminalizing childish behavior.

For instance, 9-year-old Patrick Timoney was sent to the principal’s office and threatened with suspension after school officials discovered that one of his LEGOs was holding a 2-inch toy gun.

…

#LegoControl…

Seriously, it doesn’t have to be like this. It wouldn’t, shouldn’t be all that hard to dial things back a few decades.

I’d like to play a small part in the solution to these issues. You?

So say a few brave and honest employees at Facebook: READ THEIR OPEN LETTER:

“We Have a Problem with Political Diversity”
THE PROBLEM
We are a political monoculture that’s intolerant of different views. We claim to welcome all perspectives, but are quick to attack—often in mobs—anyone who presents a view that appears to be in opposition to left-leaning ideology. We throw labels that end in *obe and *ist at each other, attacking each other’s character rather than their ideas.

We do this so consistently that employees are afraid to say anything when they disagree
with what’s around them politically. HR has told me that this is not a rare concern, and I’ve personally gotten over a hundred messages to that effect. Your colleagues are afraid because they know that they — not their ideas — will be attacked. They know that all the talk of “openness to different perspectives” does not apply to causes of “social justice,” immigration, “diversity”, and “equality.” On this issues, you can either keep quiet or sacrifice your reputation and career.

I imagine the SJW backlash has already begun. But the change, the admission is refreshing. It’s in line with the pressure President Trump is placing on the socials. Let it ring.

I, myself, found a way to be free of the exclusivity – still waiting out my “delete” period.

And I’m not alone. The very young, of all people, begin to shun the virtual madness in favor of actual reality.

Good news all around.

You Can Fall Into the Net…

Or they can throw it over you. A net, even of the “saaaaaafety” variety, can trap just easily as it can catch. Most miss that. See: This Story.

“There is such a need for safety nets, so many people are in this position,” she said.

The Urban Institute survey comes at a time when lawmakers are considering cuts to some safety-net programs, such as Medicaid, SNAP and housing assistance.

The researchers said that lawmakers run the risk of increasing the rate of hardship if they reduce support services.

It is the first study on the subject by the DC-based organization, which looks at economic and social policy issues. The institute plans to conduct the study every year to track the well-being of families as the economy and safety net systems evolve.

The problems are real but the root causes are frequently misidentified. The proposed solutions are always more of the same roots.

I should have a little more on the general lack of reasoning in this age of “post-literacy” via today’s TPC bit. That, then, here.
