Maybe the Brits Could Try This?

common sense, England, gun control, guns, Israel, London

Following attacks, Israel eases (already liberal) gun controls.

“Many civilians saved lives during attacks and, in an age of ‘lone-wolf terror’, the more trained civilians carrying arms, the higher the chances of thwarting attacks and minimising casualties,” Erdan said in a statement.

Under the new regulations, any Israeli who had extensive infantry combat training can apply for a gun licence.

Most Jewish Israelis must complete obligatory military service after they turn 18, but only a minority receive such training.

Police volunteers, medics and former military officers will also be eligible, the statement said.

Prior to the change, the main criterion for a permit — besides professions such as hunter or diamond merchant — was one’s place of residence.

Settlers or other Israelis working in the occupied West Bank tend to receive licences. It is common to see Israeli settlers in remote West Bank outposts openly carrying rifles.

Civilians saving lives. Why does that sound familiar?

They could try this in London if ever they tire of Khan, appeasement, and cultural suicide.

Never Ending Gun Control Lies

They never give up. Gotta give ’em credit for that. They’ll bring back Stalin, if only in their minds. Even if the lies evaporate on contact.

A Mad Mom belittles the recent defensive gun incident in Oklahoma:

“Bad guy gets a gun – shoots three at Lake Hefner restaurant – and the @NRA calls it a victory,” Watts groused on her Twitter feed. “In other high income countries, bad guys don’t get guns. People don’t get shot at restaurants. And armed strangers don’t have to risk their lives in the line of fire.”

If you get your news from the TeeVee, then know that a nut in OKC shot some innocent dinners and was then “limited” by a good guy with a gun. This being one of about 2.5 million such happy endings we can expect this year.

Back to the crazy woman – the grabbers love suggesting that, as America is the most heavily armed nation in the world, we thereby suffer the highest gun crime rate. The only trouble with the suggestion is the numbers. The US, with the most gun-toting private citizens on Earth, doesn’t even rank among the top 100 per capita gun murder nations. That truth thingy.

As for the “high income” BS, it’s just that. One has to wait but a day or two and definitive disproof will provide itself. Like this: from Belgium:

This is the moment Belgian special forces took down a suspected terrorist who had shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ as he shot and killed two policewomen and a 22-year-old civilian.

After carrying out three brutal murders this morning, the attacker took a female cleaner hostage in a nearby high school.

The footage shows him running out of the school with two guns blazing before he was shot dead in the street. Several officers were injured in the gun battle.

The man, who is understood to have been on a day release from a nearby prison, had approached the female officers at around 10.30am, slashed their throats and stabbed them several times from behind, before disarming them.

He has been named as Benjamin Herman, 36, an alleged Muslim convert who had been radicalised in prison.

The victims have been named as police officers Lucile Garcia, 45, and Soraya Belkacemi, 53, and 22-year-old Cyril Vangriecken, who was shot dead sitting in a parked car with his mother.

Aloha Snackbar! Prison radicalization! Per Perrin’s First Law, this guy wasn’t just known to the police in advance, he was out of jail on a day pass or something. Wow. The grabbers also say you’re 10,000,000 times more likely to be killed by a criminal with your own gun than to kill a criminal in self-defense. They say only the police (and military) need guns. They say gun control works. I say it’s a pattern of lying, probably indicative of amygdala deformity.

Anyway, to the high income lie. The US boasts a GDP-based per capita income of $55,200 (number 8 in the world). Belgium (that’s a little country in Europe) has a similar income, of $47,260 (No. 16). The US and Belgium are, compared to most of the world, high-income. Thus, according to the maniac mom, bad guys in Belgium DO NOT GET GUNS. Except that they obviously do, in spite of (or because of) those strict gun control laws. That, or else she might not consider this guy bad – he did Snackbar, after all.

The Belgium story, as bad as it was predictable, had a happy ending, similar to that in OKC. Here’s the last Snackbar!:

Possibly 8 – 10 dead.

SANTA FE, Texas (KTRK) — Law enforcement sources confirm to ABC13 at least 8 people are dead following a shooting inside Santa Fe High School.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says one suspect is in custody and a person of interest is detained. According to law enforcement agencies, it appears the shooter is a student.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says the death toll could rise to 10. Those killed include students and adults.

He added that Santa Fe ISD police officer has been injured.

Terrible, obviously. I’ll hold off on commentary until the narrative settles a few times. I wonder if the SFISD is one of the 172 districts in TX which allow armed staff beyond LEOs?

I do know the school boasts a 92% graduation rate despite only 39% proficiency in English and 28% proficiency in Algebra 1.

Blame the NRA in 3… 2… 1. Hysteria!

Update:

That didn’t take long. Politicization in MA.

Tweets from Twits.

It’s not just gun violence, Pocahontas. The Greek-surnamed suspect allegedly utilized pipe bombs too. If these vultures want to stop bomb violence, then they should outlaw bombs. May I suggest some language to cover what could be considered a bomb:

The term “destructive device” means (1) any explosive, incendiary, or poison gas (A) bomb, (B) grenade, (C) rocket having a propellent charge of more than four ounces, (D) missile having an explosive or incendiary charge of more than one-quarter ounce, (E) mine, or (F) similar device; (2) any type of weapon by whatever name known which will, or which may be readily converted to, expel a projectile by the action of an explosive or other propellant, the barrel or barrels of which have a bore of more than one-half inch in diameter, except a shotgun or shotgun shell which the Secretary finds is generally recognized as particularly suitable for sporting purposes; and (3) any combination of parts either designed or intended for use in converting any device into a destructive device as defined in subparagraphs (1) and (2) and from which a destructive device may be readily assembled. The term “destructive device” shall not include any device which is neither designed nor redesigned for use as a weapon; any device, although originally designed for use as a weapon, which is redesigned for use as a signaling, pyrotechnic, line throwing, safety, or similar device; surplus ordnance sold, loaned, or given by the Secretary of the Army pursuant to the provisions of section 4684(2), 4685, or 4686 of title 10 of the United States Code; or any other device which the Secretary finds is not likely to be used as a weapon, or is an antique or is a rifle which the owner intends to use solely for sporting purposes.

Yes, that looks a whole lot like the existing law: 26 USC § 5845(f)(“destructive devices,” Nat’l Firearms Act, 26 USC § 5801, et seq.). Maybe if they pass it twice, it’ll start working. Same for gun control laws.

I blame the National Greek-American Pipe Bomb Association.

Developing … story bound to change…

Rank Hypocrisy: Gun Control Charlatans vs. the NRA

A Piece by Contributing Writer Perrin Lovett

Special to The Chronicles

Like with a really bad drug trip, there’s a disconnect with reality when it comes to liberals and guns in America. Despite Americans being the most heavily armed people in the world and concurrently being among the safest, most responsible people in the world, some on the left just don’t get it. The safest of the safe, the most competent of gun owners, tend to be members of the National Rifle Association.

Yet, whenever something bad happens … or is contrived, the NRA gets undue blame. For instance: a few weeks ago an older, out-of-touch, politically-motivated Georgia man penned his sly emotional sentiment: “the NRA has taken over”. I didn’t hear him audibly say it, but I imagine his tone and inflection was something like Palpatine’s “the Jedi are taking over!” Same sort of lie and motivation.

He claimed that 80% of Americans, including gun owners, want more “common sense” gun control. When one hears a gun controller call for “common sense,” one can safely assume the caller has none.

As best I can tell, his touted percentage comes from an informal poll among select NPR listeners. Something tells me not to trust the figure. NPR took their poll shortly after the Parkland, Florida high school shooting. Gallup also ran a post-Parkland poll, among teachers, and only found 33% support for more “common sense” nonsense. I’m even suspicious of those findings, especially given the hysteria associated with Parkland.

Of course, we know little about that particular crime, except that the NRA was not involved in any way, shape, or form. (Come to think of it, the NRA and its members are never involved in any mass shootings and very few crimes in general. Hmm…). We do know that government keeps changing the official narrative, in evolving CYA fashion.

The Amazing Truth About Guns in America

A Piece by Perrin Lovett, C.F. Floyd Feature Writer of National Affairs

“It was downright embarrassing. Especially for me. Perrin Lovett, the gun guy, … was wrong about guns. I was wrong for the better part of two decades. Horribly wrong.

Specifically, I had been citing a rounded, general statistic: 1 million defensive gun uses every year in America (sometimes phrased as a million lives saved every year by guns). It was a very handy number to refute the claims by various gun control freaks that guns take X number of lives per year (usually in the 10,000 – 30,000 range). It was an order of magnitude of positive difference. And it was dead wrong.

Guns do not save 1 million lives each year in America.

They save 2.5 million lives. The CDC says so. Well, they say it quietly and only when pushed. You see, dear readers, the CDC did a study from 1996 through 1998. They discovered 2.46 million defensive gun uses each year. With inflation, let’s call it 2.5 million. Every. Single. Year.

Four Questions For The Concerned Gun Toter

CCW, concealed carry, firearms, guns, laws

With all the hubbub about guns lately – record ownership, record crime stopping, and record concealed carry – I get asked more than a few times about carry laws, rules, and faux pas. Simply put: look those laws up and/or consult a good local attorney; they vary from state to state.

Still I get pressed about things like: carrying in cars, across state lines, loaded, unloaded, disclosure to the cops, etc., etc., etc. It happened yesterday – queried by a fellow who already has a CCW. You, Mr. Law Abiding Citizen, follow the rules and your conscience.

And stop the obsessive worry. The odds of a negative LEO encounter are slightly marginal at best. I pose four easy questions to put this in perspective (inquiries are frequently vehicular in nature, hence number 2):

One. How old are you?

Two. How long have you been driving?

Three. How many times have you ever been stopped by the police?

Four. How many times have you been searched?

The nearly universal answer to number four is “zero.” And there you have your effective chances of future problems.

Keep calm and carry on.

I Was Wrong About Guns

This is embarrassing, really, but it is important to correct one’s errors. I apologize in advance if I’ve misled anyone.

For a long time I’ve been countering hysterical, communist gun control lies with a set of statistics. Chief among them was the claim that guns save roughly 1 million American lives each year. That’s simply not true.

They save 2 MILLION. Every. Single. Year.

The CDC said so (or would have, if they didn’t have an agenda):

An unpublished Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study confirms Florida State University criminologist Gary Kleck’s findings of more than two million defensive handgun uses (DGUs) per year.

Since the early 1990s, Kleck has maintained that there is a minimum of 760,000 DGUs annually. That is his low estimate; Kleck and research partner Marc Gertz have contended the actual number is closer to 2.5 million.

Kleck reaffirmed his numbers on February 17, 2015, explaining that while plenty of naysayers have criticized his findings, none have been able to offer empirical evidence to counter them.

Now, a CDC study conducted on data from 1996, 1997, and 1998 has been uncovered. The study, which was never released to the public, shows approximately 2.46 million DGUs per year.

Or it is 2.5 Million? Regardless, this was a government study so it cannot be questioned. The failure to publish can’t really be criticized either – the agenda and all.

In my defense I settled on the erroneous 1 million out of an abundance of statistical caution. It seemed a safe round off point. Now that I know better, it’s 2 million from now on. That’s about one life saved, one defensive usage, every 15 seconds. I wonder if Young Hogg will mention that in his forthcoming book? Guessing, and I could be wrong, that’s a big “no.”

Hold on to your ARs! Superstar Survivor David Hogg (rhymes with “slog,” as in the tiring noun usage) readies a new and sure-to-be trendy book on how you need to surrender your lives to communism. It’s anterior title is #NeverAgain.

One hopes, given the title, it may be the last time we have to hear from the spaghetti-armed bully who is totally not a crisis actor. More likely it’ll be the long-awaited sequel to the utter fairy tale bullshit that was Michael Bellesiles’s (pronounced: “l-i-a-r”) Arming America.

Captain Boogie Board is probably out hawking it at one of today’s marches for Marx. Good luck, kid.

If you’re into truth, then seriously consider Tom Wood’s new work, Wrong About Guns.

There’s an Epidemic of Low-IQ Arguments Against Guns

Supporters of gun rights are being accused of child murder, and liking their guns more than their children. Time to fight back.

Inside this free eBook:

* Why civilians have a much better record than police at stopping mass shootings — the numbers will shock you

* Don’t countries with tougher gun laws have fewer gun fatalities? Here’s the real truth

* How concealed-carry laws reduce violent crime

* The truth about “assault weapons”

* The bogus constitutional arguments of the anti-gun lobby

* The only reasonable approach to school shootings

I blame the National Knife Association. If there is such a thing.

No word on any “Aloha Snackbar-ing,” so we’ll just say some criminal bastard attacked a family on the streets of Vienna, Austria with a knife.

Several people are hurt after a man went on a knife rampage in Vienna, Austria.

At least three people are “seriously injured” after the attacker “randomly attacked pedestrians”.

The three people are reported to be an Austrian family – a mum, dad and daughter – who were attacked outside a Japanese restaurant.

The blood is on the blood-stained hands of the bloody NKA.

We need, well Austria needs, okay we and Austria need #knifecontrol.

Common sense knife control.

Reasonable restrictions on knives.

Waiting periods for knives.

No one under 21 should buy or own a knife.

Knife database.

High capacity blade length, assault knives.

Mental health records to buy knives.

High taxes on sheaths.

Hell with it – BAN ALL KNIVES!

The Second Amendment only protects the National Guard’s right to knives.

Knives ARE ONLY used to kill innocent people.

Knives are scary.

Knives are exactly like AR-47s.

CNN has probably already called this attack a school shooting. CNN!

Young Hogg, you know – the child actor with the agent, the boogie board, and the agenda – is probably speaking out. Possibly semi-coherently.

Only the police and the military (and maybe butchers and former running backs) need knives.

Hunters do not need knives. Okay, they do, but let’s keep the lies up!

You can’t protect yourself with a knife. Oops, again…

You’re 3 trillion times more likely to be victimized with your own knife than to successfully use it to deter a criminal. There! A good lie…

The average citizen does not need such sharp instruments of death. Sporks will do nicely, comrades.

There are knives in your child’s school. Think of the children.

Knives kill a disproportionate number of minorities. And oysters. Shuck it?

Knives are used to murder three times as many Americans every year as shotguns and rifles combined. Woah! Yeah, I know, … a real fact. Sorry. #knifecontrol!

Tide Pod-eating kids demand #knifecontrol.

Rumor has it The Trump has already moved to administratively ban whetstones. Chuck and Nancy approve.

Enough is enough!

campus carry, college, firearms, guns

Professors like this guy will be leaving the schools eventually now that they know some people are packing heat.

A Texas professor is making waves on social media after protesting the state’s campus carry law by wearing protective combat gear to class.

San Antonio College geography instructor Charles K. Smith went to his class last week sporting a camouflaged bulletproof vest and helmet. He said he wore it because he doesn’t feel safe.

“It definitely makes me feel uneasy that there are more firearms on campus than there should be,” Smith told mySA.com. “[Dressing this way] was just a statement on how I felt.”

Campus Carry, which was signed into state law in 2015 and officially implemented into Texas community colleges on Aug. 1, allows individuals with a conceal license to carry a handgun on college premises. The law went into effect at 4-year institutions in 2016.

A photo of Smith wearing the combat gear was shared on Facebook, which generated a flurry of comments in favor of and against the professor.

“I realize students were carrying guns on campus illegally, but now it’s legal to do so. It increases the chances of something happening,” said Smith, who also acknowledged that no one had pulled a gun on him in his 10 years at the college.

“Used to, when they got mad at me, they had to go home to get the gun and had time to cool off. Now they will have it with them,” he added.

1502201331248

This weirdo gotta go-go. James Velten/Fox.

Campus carry makes schools safer. And it has the side benefit of running off nutjobs. This maniac will soon tire of wearing 40 pounds of body armor (though he admittedly looks more robust than the average SJW). And when nothing bad happens as he fears, he way be shamed.

Sgt. Rhetoric has no dialectic examples to display (not that he would). The best-known school shooting from his state’s history came courtesy from government agents, not students.

His teaching is likely as unsound as his fear of weapons (hoplophobia in action here). The school and the kids would be better off without his paranoia.

This is further examples of guns doing good things without even being fired. A polite society and free of wackos. A twofer!
