Hello all veterans and others!
Consider this the Saturday football halftime report. They got a game in Starkville right now.
Anyway, I couldn’t decide on a topic so here are two:
Three Men, One Cause, Multiple Suspicions
On May 22, 1949, former Secretary of Defense James Forrestal fell to his death from the sixteenth floor of the Naval Medical Center in Bethesda. An investigation by a Navy review board found no definitive cause for his death, which was assumed by many to be suicide.
On May 2, 1957, Senator Joseph McCarthy died from acute hepatitis at the Bethesda hospital. Just a few days earlier, he’d been admitted to the hospital with a knee injury. No cause for the hepatitis was ever given. No autopsy was conducted.
On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated while visiting Dallas, Texas. An autopsy conducted at the Bethesda Naval Medical Center late that evening resulted in controversy over the extent of the president’s wounds and how they ultimately were caused. The wounds viewed by many eyewitnesses in Dallas and Bethesda weren’t reflected in the final Warren Commission report.
Inflation, the Government Gift that Never Gives…
Inflation is not caused by the butcher, the baker, or the auto maker, although they usually get blamed. On the contrary, by producing real wealth, they fight the effects of inflation. Inflation is the work of government alone, since government alone controls the creation of currency.
In a true free-market society, the only way a person or organization can legitimately obtain wealth is through production. “Making money” is no different from “creating wealth,” and money is nothing but a certificate of production. In our world, however, the government can create currency at trivial cost, and spend it at full value in the marketplace. If taxation is the expropriation of wealth by force, then inflation is its expropriation by fraud.
To inflate, a government needs complete control of a country’s legal money. This has the widest possible implications, since money is much more than just a medium of exchange. Money is the means by which all other material goods are valued. It represents, in an objective way, the hours of one’s life spent in acquiring it. And if enough money allows one to live life as one wishes, it represents freedom as well. It represents all the good things one hopes to have, do, and provide for others. Money is life concentrated.
There. No time for a pic. Gotta drink. Night. – P

Ignore the debts, the spending, and the funny money. Ignore this chart of adjusted U.S. inflation from 1665 to the near present (especially the period after 1913).

Now, back to the football – for once I’m serious about that.

Per a follow-up promise I ran the following at FP today:
…
One. If not a total break with the game, then with the NFL. Consider college ball or HS. Or, better yet, run some plays yourself in the backyard.
Two. Speaking of running. Fall afternoons make for great times to go for a run, walk, or jog. Get out and get moving. Being healthy is a prime prepper activity.
Three. Hit the gym. Weights build muscle, which may come in handy, SHTF or not. No, you don’t have to be a 300-pound steroid monster like some of the kneelers. Just a little toning will go a long way.
Four. Speaking of gyms, why not add boxing, MMA, or some other martial art to the regimen? Beyond insulting our culture and values, some of the commie SJW types are actually dangerous. Learn to handle yourself. Hone your skills.
Five. Speaking of martial, practice the long-range martial art: riflery. Head to the range and hit some targets. Mix it up. Add in pistol and shotgun work. Three-gun fun.
Six. Football in America has kind of become synonymous with overeating junk food and mass consumption of alcohol. There’s nothing wrong with a little but A LOT leads to poor health. Take your new free time to clean up the diet.
**By the way, yes, I am obviously recommending alternatives that our enemies would rather you NOT do – so much more reason to try them.
Seven.
…

In related news: I’m not sure if I announced it here but we have reinvigorated the older, Drudge-style Prepper News Site. Please give that your daily attention.

Trump vs. the NFL (No Fans Left?) is just another facet of the larger America vs. Anti-America. Whether one gets caught up in the politicization of the game or the infantile nature of the game itself matters little. It’s the culture war, stupid.
With all that’s in the media about kneeling, “free speech,” and burning jerseys, I wonder if something else is being purposely obscured. “Look! A Squirrel!” Just a thought.
Could it be the debt? Or a pending depression? Maybe it’s more war – always popular. Maybe in Korea. Or, perhaps in Syria?
If Americans ever cared to be serious, they might look for a moment at what happened in Syria last week with mild trepidation. A legion of U.S.-backed ISIS terrorists (we back ISIS, you know) attempted to kill or capture a squad of Russian peacekeepers (the Russians are promoting peace, namely by getting rid of terrorists). Things didn’t work out so well for our proxies:
Something rather unprecedented just happened in Syria: US backed “good terrorist” forces attempted a surprise attack against Syrian government forces stationed to the north and northeast of the city of Hama. What makes this attack unique is that it took place inside a so-called “de-escalation zone” and that it appears that one of the key goals of the attack was to encircle in a pincer-movement and subsequently capture a platoon of Russian military police officers deployed to monitor and enforce the special status of this zone. The Russian military police forces, composed mainly of soldiers from the Caucasus region, fought against a much larger enemy force and had to call for assistance. For the first time, at least officially, Russian special operations forces were deployed to rescue and extract their comrades. At the same time, the Russians sent in a number of close air support aircraft who reportedly killed several hundred “good” terrorists and beat back the attack (Russian sources speak of the destruction of 850 fighters, 11 tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles, 46 armed pickup trucks, five mortars, 20 freighter trucks and 38 ammo supply points; you can see photos of the destroyed personnel and equipment here). What also makes this event unique is the official reaction of the Russians to this event.
Head of the Main Operations Department at Russia’s General Staff Colonel General Sergei Rudskoi declared that:
“Despite agreements signed in Astana on September 15, gunmen of Jabhat al-Nusra and joining them units that don’t want to comply with the cessation of hostilities terms, launched a large-scale offensive against positions of government troops north and northeast of Hama in Idlib de-escalation zone from 8 am on September 19 (…) According to available data, the offensive was initiated by American intelligence services to stop a successful advance of government troops east of Deir ez-Zor“.
Today, other Russian officials have added a not-so-veiled threat to this accusation. The Russian Defense Ministry’s spokesman, Major General Igor Konashenkov has declared that:
Russia unequivocally told the commanders of US forces in Al Udeid Airbase (Qatar) that it will not tolerate any shelling from the areas where the SDF are stationed (…) Fire from positions in regions [controlled by the SDF] will be suppressed by all means necessary.
This is unprecedented on many levels. First, the Russians clearly believe that this attempt to kill or capture a platoon of the Russian military police was planned by the United States. The fact that they are making this accusation officially shows the degree of irritation felt by the Russians about the duplicity of the Americans. Second, this is the first time, at least to my knowledge, that Russian Spetsnaz forces had to be sent in to rescue a surrounded Russian subunit. All Spetsnaz operators survived, but three of them were wounded in the operation (the Russians are not saying how badly). The close air support by very low flying SU-25 aircraft was obviously coordinated by Spetsnaz forward air controllers and probably saved the day. In other words, this was a close call and things could have ended much more badly (just imagine what the Takfiri crazies would have done, on video, to any captured Russian serviceman!). Finally, a US-organized attack on what was supposed to be a “de-confliction” zone combined with an attempt to capture Russian soldiers raises the bar for American duplicity to a totally new level.
Leaving aside questions like, “Why are we concerned about Syria at all?” and “Why do we support the same terrorists there who actively attack us here?”, I’ll just remind that Russia has 7,000 nuclear weapons – an arsenal to make Rocket Man’s missiles look like Roman Candle toys.
Could it be the real issues, stupid? Might the foolishness on television take a backseat to actual, deadly reality? We may find out. But – and this post is a rambler’ – we have confirmed the stupidity part. Aside from spending six hours staring at a glowing box of nonsense while shoveling in 6,000 calories each day, American’s can’t even answer the simplest of questions anymore: 75% of polled adults cannot name all three branches of government.

Henry Makow.
“Football, television, and … Trump?”
Close enough!
Or does close only count for “protests” and Spetsnaz hand grenades?

In “America” this weekend President Trump entered into a war of words with the overweight, illiterate, felonious millionaire class. (The pink comes next month). More proof his base is abandoning him came today as millions of semi-conscious cucks ignored Trump’s admonitions and drunkenly starred at an amp-up spectacle of degeneracy on Plato’s Electric Cave™.
More serious doings were afoot in the Deutschland, as a seemingly suicidal electorate choose yet another term of the globalist thaumaturge Angela Merkel. The good news (if any) is the pole-vaulting national entry of the AfD.
And this process is really just getting started. As Americans are slowly but surely turning off the hissy ft antics of athletes, owners, and advertisers who hate them, so Germans (all Western Europeans) are slowly coming around to the massive transformation of their land and their culture. Just a few more rapes, murders, arsons, elderly home displacements, bombings, and Christmas market drive-thrus should do it. 2021 will come.

Glückwünsche, dreckige hexe. Daily Mail.
People, even the blindest and deafest, begin to understand what’s going on. Even back in America.
Back here, this weekend, another deranged lunatic walked into another church and opened fire on Christians. (And, yes, once again the bad guy with a gun was stopped by a good buy with a gun). Nikki Haley concernedly called from New York, offering to take a break from her new job of steering the U.S. into dual nuclear wars and ban some Confederate flags or something. She rested easy, assured that this shooter was a black man from Sudan. Her parting words on the phone were “memory hole!”
Maybe. Maybe not this time. Maybe someone will wake up.
But, for now, back to kneeling before the electric altar of advertising for some exciting kneeling. Take a knee!

football, Lady Gaga, New England, Patriots, stupid, Super Bowl
Thank God we know now just how the Falcons lost in such spectacular fashion. It wasn’t the Russians. It wasn’t Trump. The electoral college had nothing to do with it. The KKK was not involved. And it certainly wasn’t a lack of talent and discipline when facing a vastly superior team. No.
It was Lady Gaga. Atlanta WR Mohamed Sanu (rhymes with coo coo) explains:
Wide receiver Mohamed Sanu told the NFL Network’s Good Morning Football on Friday that Lady Gaga’s 40-minute halftime performance “definitely did” impact the team’s play in the second half.
“Usually, halftime is only like 15 minutes, and when you’re not on the field for like an hour, it’s just like going to work out, like a great workout, and you go sit on the couch for an hour and then try to start working out again,” Sanu said on the NFL Network, via by CBS Sports.
Sanu said he doesn’t “know if you can simulate something like” the lengthy halftime break.
Leading up to past Super Bowl appearances, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has had his team stop for a half hour in the middle of practice to simulate the halftime performance.
Bill was cheating again. Neither the Falcons, nor any other team, could ever simulate a halftime break during their practices. Unthinkable. Bill. Cheating. Again. Heck, I’ll bet he messed with the time-space continuum in order to warp the Pats straight through halftime – probably in cahoots with Gaga. Gaga-gate. Five game suspension!

Gaga frantically communicates with Belichick via “hidden mic” earpiece as Sanu catches on…. Getty.
This is pitiful and delusional even by Loserville standards. They’ll have a hard time topping that after the Pats win SB LII next year.

Not really. Wait. Yes, yes I do.
Still getting over Super Bowl LI here – maybe the best football game I’ve ever seen. And part of the experience was Lady Gaga’s knock-out halftime show. She killed it. She was the runner-up MVP to Brady. Well, maybe not, but she was great.
Then I heard some rumors on these interwebs about someone – and I have no idea how anyone could do this – someone was “body shaming” my beloved Gaga. I then learned that that means they made fun of her for being out of shape…
I was out of shape myself for a decade or more. I know a thing or two about it. I know how hard it is to come back and to keep it up. Fitness is a big part of what I write about here. Nothing makes me happier than seeing someone lose the weight and hit the gym, etc. Anyway, I then returned my thoughts to Lady Gaga and her appearance last Sunday.
How the hell is this out of shape?

Billboard / Fox / NFL / Gaga.
?????!!!!!?????
I look at that and see …. talented, beauty! Trying not to be a pig here. Sorry. Love her. She’s the total package: great voice, energetic, plays her own instruments, upbeat pop, etc., etc. Strictly speaking to her physical appearance, I’m thinking “dream girl”.
Some dork named “Nanath” noted her “flab”. I don’t see that (revert to the above pic for reference) but I can see “Nathan” being a fat loser. “Jake” says she has a “gut”. Any bets “Jake” has never kissed a girl? Somebody “AppleCore” says she has a “flabby belly”… That fruit is rotten to the core. There’s probably no teeth to knock out. Certainly no couth.
But she doesn’t need me to defend her. The classy little lady strode right past her pitiful detractors:
“I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too,” she wrote on Instagram in the caption of a photo of her performing. “No matter who you are or what you do.”
Instantly turned these idiots into a positive message for everyone. Amazing.
It’s not often I side with the feminists. Even more amazing. But that’s the power of Gaga. No shame it that at all.
*Note: Perrin may have developed a crush on Lady Gaga. If you are her, please contact him immediately…

Atlanta, football, New England, Patriots, Super Bowl, Tom Brady
Steel. That emotional control I wrote about earlier. A steely resolve to do the impossible.

From the Boston Herald:
Tom Brady and the Patriots rewrote the history books and the storylines last night with their epic, 34-28 victory against the Falcons in Super Bowl LI. They trailed 28-3 midway through the third quarter before ripping off the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history. Prior to this, the Pats’ 10-point comeback two years ago against the Seahawks had set the bar.
Tom Brady completed 43 of 62 passes for 466 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, and he was 12 of 16 for 150 yards on the tying and winning drives in the fourth quarter and overtime. The five-time champion led his 51st game-winning drive in the 51st Super Bowl.
I read in the Boston or sporting press somewhere the “grading” of the team. “A” for Brady. “B” for coaching. “Cs” for the defense. I guess “B” stands for “bravo” and “Cs” stands for “Champions”.
First come-from-behind from more than 10 points win in Super Bowl history.
First Super Bowl in overtime.
Record Ninth Super Bowl appearance (seven with Brady and Coach B.).
Fifth win (all behind Brady) (NE looks to tie the Steelers record 6 next year).
Brady’s 466 passing yards – SB record.
Brady is undeniably the best quarterback in history.
First SB of the MAGA era.
Probably a bunch of other records.
The greatest performance in the greatest SB (according to someone at ESPN). I agree.
And the Pats did all of this on the heels of a year when they alone had to play one extra game, a game that lasted the whole season. They played a year-long game against the NFL itself and most of the rest of the world. And they won. The NFL, Roger Goodell, and all the rest are losers.
Goodell should resign. Today.
Brady, Coach B., and Co. showed what you do when the world is against you: turn all the hatred into resolve and beat the world down.
And they’re not done yet…
The Falcons aren’t done either. They had an outstanding season and played an incredible game. They dominated 3/4ths of it – they dominated the best team in history. Maybe no-one else could have done that. In the end it was not enough, though it was impressive.
I’ve read many rants about the 4th quarter disintegration. That was destiny. Sorry. But nobody is harder on themselves than Atlanta fans.
Some in Atlanta are already talking about “next year” – a familiar UGA phrase. That is the spirit. But put it off for another year. They’re saying the same thing in Boston and, there, they mean it.
The “meaning it” is critical. Four things are required to win football championships: a great coach, a great quarterback, a demanding, loyal owner, and an expectant, demanding fan base. Boston is a sports crazed town, best of all American cities; they have all elements across all their teams – especially in the Patriots. Fanatics doesn’t come close. Atlanta finally has the first three but not yet the fourth.
The winning psyche matters. The AJC’s Mark Bradley captured it perfectly last night (if harshly): Mark Bradley: Falcons lose the most Atlanta game ever. When you make your city’s name synonymous with losing, you have a problem.
The Falcons fan base needs to analyze 37 years of failed UGA football. “Good”, “pretty good”, “almost”, “high winning percentage”, and “next year” just don’t cut it. They have to expect excellence and demand excellence. Stop focusing on how someone else is the worst and become the best yourselves.
Take everything I just wrote about Atlanta and invert it. As President Trump Tweeted: “They’re winners.”
I think someone at the NFL and Madison Avenue finally got the memo that Americans are tired of anti-Americanisms. The SJW nonsense was there, subtly, though it was much more muted than I had expected.
Also, I think the age of the stellar, funny, and memorable SB commercials is over.
Wow. Part of me (and others) half expected Gaga, an outspoken liberal, to politically ham up her show and continue the shenanigans from 2016. Instead she opened patriotically and put on a heck of a show. In answer to that stupid Masters question of a few years back: “Lady Gaga or Lady Antebellum?” – I’ll take Gaga.
Professional. Witty. Fun. And hot…
Will continue:

Congratulations to the (once again) Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots. Yes. Told ya so. There’s that. I originally called NE winning 31-30. 34-28 does it too. Wow. And they held back the whole first half…

May have some thoughts tomorrow. I think we can safely call Tom Brady the greatest quarterback in history. 5. Five. 5…
For their part, the Falcons played an incredible game, a championship worthy game.
Ah, well. Memes away!
