***Note*** I’ve got a lot of drafts sitting around, some in existence and unpublished since 2013. It became obvious to me that I’m in no hurry to get around to them. But, they’ve survived various draft purges over the years. If they’re that important I can just come back and elaborate later. For now, I offer them, kind of as-is, in this, a lightning publishing round. The fun will continue while supplies last. Make of these what you will. Or not. I don’t care.

Aha! I found this, just a list of links to past news stories. The FDA communist assault continues, though some fight it. I’ve covered that. I even published a submitted CFR comment. Entertain yourselves, particularly if you’re in the industry, with the following (if operable – not checking):

Where’s Rita Coolidge? We need a serenade here.

As the US average IQ drops dangerously towards Central American levels, we can at least take comfort (foods) in the fact that the now much duller Amerikans are the largest set ever.

The nation’s obesity rate has reached the highest-ever level this year, according to the United Health Foundation’s 2018 . Obesity is a leading contributor to cardiovascular disease, cancer and other conditions. Additionally, an increase in drug deaths, suicides and cardiovascular disease deaths is contributing to an increase in premature death.

Better ban guns and cigars…

The obesity rate exceeded 30 percent of the adult population for the first time in America’s Health Rankings history, up 5 percent in the past year (from 29.9 percent to 31.3 percent). Premature deaths increased 3 percent (from 7,214 to 7,432 years lost before age 75 per 100,000 people).

Livin’ large. Adding in the merely overweight civies, we’re at something like 75% of all persons within the nonborders of the former nation. The trend GROWS (pun). Soon, maybe within a decade or so, the percent of tubbies will equal the average IQ.

USA! USA! USA!

Go supersize something.

PS: Please read all about that amazing money-waster of a program they’re pushing! Sure to be as effective as that last election Y’all enjoyed.

Is America Still a Nation? -A Brief Examination in Light of the Ongoing French Rébellion-

Humpty Trumpty sat on The Wall,

Humpty’s Nation had a great fall.
And all the bow ties, and all the con men,
Couldn’t put America together again.
1965 came with some political lies – lies that fostered a few changes, some of which you may have noticed. Back then, the liars lied when they said a little immigration law tinkering wouldn’t change a thing. Now, the liars lie by saying the changes were expected, par for the course, natural. America is, and always has been a proposition nation. Just move right in and instantly become American. Any history, culture, your own experiences, or Constitutional text to the contrary must be wrong … and racist.
Nations have people. They have rules and customs. Culture. They have borders, so as to define one nation from its neighbors. No border means no order. A loud, brash businessman from Manhattan said he understood as much. He says a lot of things. His delivery leaves a little to be desired.

Twelve Percent of American Adults are Healthy

So says a new UNC study, based on five key factors:

The prevalence of what doctors consider good metabolic health is shockingly low in American adults, a new study finds.

Researchers from the University of North Carolina’s Gillings School of Global Public Health say that just 12 percent of the country’s adult population is considered metabolically healthy. That means a vast portion of the population is at greater risk of developing diabetes, heart disease, or other dangerous health conditions over time.

The five factors identified as indicators of good or bad metabolic health are: blood glucose, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, blood pressure, and waist circumference. If adults can maintain optimal levels of these indicators without medication, they are deemed metabolically healthy.

Makes the 70+% obesity thing look tame by compaison.

America, the Outraged

Or, is it America, the outrageous? Or, just the fallen?

Lance Morrow penned an interesting, short op-ed to the WSJ, yesterday, on the new national obsession and condition – hysteria:

Pretty soon absolutely everything becomes an outrage. Anything that isn’t an outrage is Jeb Bush. Complex interactions of outrage from both parties’ bases conjured up the presidency of Donald Trump, who is the mighty Wurlitzer of the art form.

Outrage seems strenuous enough, but in truth it is a lazy habit—spontaneous, fatuous and naive. Organizing a lynch mob is easier—with a surer, immediate and dramatic reward—than conducting a fair trial, which requires the brains and patience of an adult. (The inner terror of Trumpians is that Robert Mueller is a grown-up with brains and patience.) Outrage presents itself as an assertion of conscience, but in practice it mostly bypasses conscience and judgment, and goes straight to self-righteous rage, by way of self-pity.

Outrage may be justified, of course, and redress long overdue. Just as a dose of morphine may be appropriate to help a patient in extreme pain, so with outrage. But like morphine, outrage is widely abused—and addictive. It may wind up becoming frivolous or fraudulent, as in all those “triggers” and “microaggressions.”

Is outrage now an American entitlement, and a permanent state of mind? Black Americans are more entitled to outrage than most, their grievances embedded in history. Are Asian-Americans entitled to be outraged? Some are making that case in their lawsuit over Harvard’s admissions practices—an argument that, in turn, collides with the counterclaims of African-American outrage. Are gay people entitled to be outraged? Are women entitled to be outraged? Who isn’t entitled to be outraged? (White men?)

There is something sinister and corrupt—Maoist—in the habit of assigning people to categories. That was the besetting sin of the 20th century; it was the way of genocide. As people are again consigned to shallow, mutually exclusive categories in this century, it is as if we learned nothing.

A society that goes on in this way will exhaust itself. …

It this case, seemingly, has exhausted itself. Morrow notes that when everything is viewed as an outrageous happening, then the real tragedies – like the railroading of the honest Julian Assange – lose significance. Morrow ponders a cure. Not unsurprisingly, he doesn’t come up with one. Me neither, except, maybe, for two: something beyond unpleasant, like a civil war, or; the very long, slow passage of time.

Before seeking a cure, it might be helpful to identify a cause. America has changed because Americans have changed. By strict definition, they are, now, a small minority of the hominids shuffling about the land. The people, even most of the “good” people have forgotten, written off, or just never read Marcus Aurelius’s admonition against overreaction to stimuli, good or bad. The number of those capable of reading, let alone understanding, Meditations decreases daily.

We have become a nation of fat, stupid, multi-vice addicted, God-eschewing, perpetually adolescent, instant gratification-seeking, lazy, insolent, fractured, and mentally unstable slobs. The populace, as easily frightened as entertained – and loving both, no longer can, or cares to, sort the true from the false, nor the right from the wrong.

For those few who still can, it’s time to do … something. For those many who can’t, well, hey! it’s conference championship weekend! Hubba.

**Note, the first: Thank you for the November visits. With all the changes and the departure of the Farcebook rabble, all of last month’s traffic was close to that of a good week back, say, two years ago. Still, I’m happy, grateful. Better the patronage of the select few than the patronizing of the debased masses.

**Note, the second: Only four ex-Presidents remain in the world. Gone is George Herbert Walker Bush, No. 41. Perhaps his greatest accomplishment was surviving a crash landing in the Pacific in 1944. Later, he did damage incalculable to the Old Republic. Read my lips, “Goodbye.”

**Note, the last: Let’s have us a rockin December.

Invasion and Bommerism have consequences:

  • By 2030 all baby boomers will be older than age 65, US Census Bureau reveals
  • 1 in every 5 Americans will be retirement age and deaths will ‘rise substantially’
  • The non-Hispanic White-alone population is projected to shrink to 179 million
  • Bureau did not reveal when white Americans will fall below half the population

One will note the globos’ not-so-subtle fear (hatred) of a white America.

I find it amusing in a way that the US will immediately and without hesitation drop bombs in Syria for absolutely no reason at all. Yet, when it comes to defending our country from actual invasion, absolutely nothing is ever done.

Watch as the newest horde scrambles across the border.

And, they’re not sending us the very best.

I suppose we really might be out of serviceable A-10’s after all…

Good news! Opposite that last link, we have at least one Christian Pastor left in America still ready to stand up for Christianity. And he’s not backing down.

Compare and contrast that hard stand with what’s happened of late in Ireland. They legalized just about every form of depravity on the Emerald Isle. Now, some feign shock and outrage when rape suspects get off based on “what she was wearing.” One thing leads to another…

There, and here. Welcome the world, become the world.

Poll: Mere Half of Americans Politically Blind, Illiterate

America, democracy, poll

The horrors! Only half of you have faith in DEMOCRACY!

Just 51% of Americans said they have faith in the country’s democracy, and 37% say they have lost faith in democracy, according to a new Axios/SurveyMonkey poll conducted in late October.

Why it matters: It suggests that recent political turmoil has caused people to doubt the very foundation of American society, particularly leading up to election day.

Democracy is to the foundation of American society what concrete is to a hummingbird’s menu. That’s why “hummingbird” “democracy” appears exactly zero times in the Constitution or other Founding Documents. The Men of 1776 understood that democracy was quite likely to lead to the turmoil witnessed today.

Join the 9%. Sometimes all you need is no faith in something.

John Taylor Gatto (1935-2018), American Hero

You may not know his name but he fought for you and your children. On the battlefield of America’s public schools. His only interest was in the promotion of learning. What a concept.

Gatto was the teacher we needed. He will be missed and hard to replace.

Over the course of his career, Gatto was recognized by other educators for the rapport he had built with his students. While other teachers were spending much of their day on behavioral management issues, Gatto’s students were actively engaged in his lectures and genuinely excited about learning. When faculty members would come to him seeking advice, his prescription was simple: treat your students the same way you treat anyone else.

Above all, Gatto understood that his students were not mere underlings, but individuals with unique skills and talents to share with the rest of the world. They didn’t want to be talked down to but longed to be treated with respect and dignity. He recognized that their worth was not determined by the neighborhoods where they lived, their parents’ annual salaries, or the scores they received on standardized tests. He concluded that “genius,” is “as common as dirt. We suppress genius because we haven’t yet figured out how to manage a population of educated men and women. The solution, I think, is simple and glorious. Let them manage themselves.”

After three decades in the classroom, Gatto realized that the public school system was squashing individualism more than it was educating students and preparing them for the real world. To make matters worse, his later research would reveal that this dumbing down was not just by accident, but by design.

Upon his realization, he resigned in protest and in order to further the truth and freedom. We, now, must take up the work.
