The Incredible Obamacare Whack-A-Bill

02 Thursday Mar 2017

Congress, GOP, government, ObamaCare, Rand Paul, secrecy

Now you see it. Now you don’t. Actually, you just don’t. Even if you’re a member of Congress, a Republican member, you can’t see whatever passes for Obamacare reform.

This is getting ridiculous. Well, it’s been ridiculous for years – now they’re just adding to the spectacle.

House Republicans thought they were writing a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare. Instead, on Thursday, they found themselves running a traveling circus.

Following reports that a major chunk of their health-care legislation was being held for House GOP review in a secret room somewhere in the Capitol complex, Democrats and Republicans who hadn’t been invited started the hunt. Senator Rand Paul, a Kentucky Republican, was first on the scene of the supposed secret location.

“It’s the secret office of the secret bill,” Paul told a gaggle of reporters. After being denied entry by a security guard and staff aide, he quickly turned the moment into an impromptu press conference about legislation transparency.

“I suspect public pressure will make them release it,” he said.

Except, as it turned out, the bill wasn’t there. House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady was in the room, but the Texas Republican said the bill wasn’t.

Where’s the Bill? Who’s got the Bill? Anybody seen a Bill?

Why the secrecy? The Draft circulated a week ago was obviously that – a draft – or a ruse. Allegedly the authors were not happy it got out. An, now, they’re making it impossible for anyone to see what they’re doing. Why? Do we have secrecy in our government? The answer is, “yes, of course”. But that doesn’t feel right, it’s not the way it’s supposed to be.

The original legislation, which gave us the doomed ACA, was shrouded in secrecy. It was rushed through the process. No one bothered to read it (or had time). That didn’t work out so well. Had they read it, they might have concluded it was a giant, stinking boondoggle, voted it down, and spared us (and themselves) the present worry.

After what … 100 years? … of promising to fix or get rid of the mess, one would think Republicans would be proud if their efforts. Why hide them? Do really have anything this time? Someone pointed out that they did pass a repeal Bill through previously. It met an Obama veto. Why not redo the exact same Bill? Trump would sign it. Stupidity on top or secrecy on top of incompetence.

Similarly, the TPP legislation was kept “locked up and under armed guard in the Capital basement vault”. That, also, was a complete disaster waiting to happen. The Bill stalled in the Senate (maybe someone read it), only to have Obama okay it anyway. Trump killed it earlier this year with great ceremony – one of the few laws undone, ever. A win for the people.

The people need another win with Obamacare. At the least, they deserve a little trust from their employees in Congress. Let’s see what is in the damned repeal, repeal and replace, prop-up, or whatever it is.

It’s really a shame we don’t have a “no confidence” voting measure for our government. That’s no secret.

Donald Trump, government, state of the union

This may be the first one I’ll watch (with interest) in years. Trump may actually lay out a plan that means something. At the least he will be entertaining.

Tonight, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 9 p.m.

Live Stream at http://www.whitehouse.gov or any television station.

20170217_adm_jsoc-2017_web_blog-header

The White House.

Ahead of the speech Trump touts some of his first month accomplishments:

  • Reviving key job-creating energy projects such as the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines.
  • Eliminating costly Obama-era regulations such as the “Stream Protection Rule.”
  • Minimizing the economic burden of Obamacare while clearing the path toward repeal and replace.
  • Directing the Department of Defense to develop a plan to defeat ISIS.
  • Standing with American workers by withdrawing from the disastrous Trans-Pacific Partnership.
  • Enacting common sense regulatory reform by ordering any new regulations be offset by the repeal of two other regulations.
  • Building his Cabinet and Administration with the highest quality individuals to help implement the President’s vision for the country.
  • Establishing new ethics commitments for all executive branch appointees to enforce a five-year lobbying ban and a permanent ban on lobbying for foreign governments.

I reserve the right to follow-up commentary, here, tomorrow.

I must admit, I am a minor league illuminati watcher. Usually my concern centers around powers seeking to influence the government. At other times I comment on the culture. Sometimes the two intersect.

There are some I consider Big Show illuminati watchers. And I respect them on average. Evil is real and it always seeks to corrupt. It’s important to monitor and guard against that. However, some get carried away. Sometimes they get it wrong. Or, maybe it is that i just don’t see what they do.

Here’s a contemporary example:

Lady Gaga nearly rocked the roof off the NRG Stadium during Super Bowl LI. Initially, I was concerned about PC intrusion into her halftime show. I worry a lot… But, I didn’t see it. Some did. I did not. Some tried to “body shame” her. I sure as heck didn’t see that. Now, Alex Jones and Co. claim the whole show was a Satanic ritual designed to mesmerize and indoctrinate the masses.

I just didn’t see that – and I looked for it. So much of pop culture revolves around the occult that it’s frequently impossible to miss. Still, I did not see it with Gaga. Now, just yesterday, I helped break Gaga-Gate with the esteemed assistance of Mohamed Sanu: Gaga colluded with Coach B. to bend time, giving the Pats a transquantum advantage – the only rational explanation of how the Falcons could have possibly lost.

Given Gaga-Gate and what Jones said, I was determined to go back and re watch the show for signs of the supernatural. I still did not see his concern. But, I did see something! This something is most unusual. It gives Gaga-Gate a twist no one (expect maybe Sanu) could have predicted. What I discovered is utterly insane. Let me outline this for you:

The Super Bowl was played between the New England Patriots (victors, naturally) and the Atlanta Falcons. The game was played at the NRG in Houston, Texas, home of the Houston Texans. Got that: New England, Atlanta, Houston. Now. Check this out:

The following pics are from the Gaga show, which you can watch HERE.

nimbus-image-1488162142051-3

In this picture from the show’s opening one can plainly see Troy Aikman and Dak Prescott sitting in Sec. 103, row 16, seats 6 and 7 (circled in red). Both are laughing maniacally. What’s that all about?!

nimbus-image-1488162789123

Next, as Gaga descends from the rooftop, she passes directly under a single star (yeah, right, Texas “flag”).

nimbus-image-1488162998721

The whole field was covered with blue stars.

_35

Those blue stars remind you of anything? And, here one last bit of conclusive proof:

nimbus-image-1488163262178

That male dancer who carried the lovely Gaga, Frankenstein-style (in front of another giant blue star, by the way)? That was Roger Staubach’s grandson!

I think you get the picture now. The entire 14-minute show (40-min by Sanu’s reckoning) was a huge Dallas Cowboys propaganda hit piece!

The most insidious thing in the annals of the NFL and television. I’m speechless…

Ronald Reagan and FOPA: Myth vs. Reality

The following is from last summer. And it’s about to become relevant again – more on that tomorrow. By the end of this month (Feb., 2017) we should hear President Trump’s State of the Union address and we should see his idea of a federal budget. Somewhere in those one should expect to find either tax cuts or a an overhaul of the entire tax system. My 2016 article highlighted that such changes, from D.C., are usually doubled-edged. Developing…

Conservatives tend to lionize anyone associated with their ideology. Fewer politicians have been more ingrained in conservative mythology than Ronald Wilson Reagan. Rush Limbaugh explained:

He was optimistic and happy. He was infectious. He dared to embrace big ideas. He dared to do big things to overcome huge obstacles in the midst of all kinds of experts telling him it couldn’t be done, in the midst of all kinds of criticism, in the midst of all kinds of personal insults.

…

He rejected Washington elitism and connected directly with the American people who adored him. He didn’t need the press. He didn’t need the press to spin what he was or what he said. He had the ability to connect individually with each American who saw him. That is an incredible — I don’t even want to say “talent.” It’s a characteristic that so few Americans have, so few people…

Exile of Justice: Snowden Offers to Return for Fair Trial

Mr. Snowden has been back in the news – rumors of a return and trial. I don’t think too much of what I’ve heard. I did think this would make an ideal re-post (from a year ago).

perrinlovett's avatarPERRIN LOVETT

Three years ago Edward Snowden worked as a contractor for the National Security Agency. Alarmed by the NSA’s massive invasion of privacy and violation of civil liberties he leaked thousands of pages of classified information about the program to the public. His revelations were really nothing new; anyone with both eyes open could have learned the truth about the spy agency’s sinister agenda nearly twenty years earlier. They watch and listen to everything and everyone constantly. It’s conceivable that even as I type this article an NSA computer is dissecting it. Certainly within minutes of my official posting the electronic analysis will be completed. The whole thing will be archived. If the computer senses a threat, I will be passed on to human analysts.

Most of these people spend their days on Facebook or playing video games. Usually they miss alerts. That’s good when it comes to dissenting bloggers, bad…

It seems the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals may be reconsidering its idiotic decision, sua sponte: *

The Strange Case of Goldman Sachs v. Libyan Investment Authority

01 Wednesday Feb 2017

Posted by perrinlovett in Uncategorized

Something got me thinking about this case last night. So I did some digging. When I last reported on this debacle, I think I said something about it pending in court in London. I may have predicted a settlement of sorts. Now there is one – of sorts.

This all started rolling in 2012 when the UK, France, and other powers toppled Col. Gaddafi. Gaddafi had $Billions sitting around in his (relatively) new sovereign Investment Authority (LIA). The UK swooped in and grabbed it. Legally, they “froze” the accounts. But, technically, physically, they hauled the loot back to London.

And there it will stay. Most of it.

Enter the Goldman Sachs. Goldman obviously had some arrangement with the UK or the LIA, and also with then Secretary of State Clinton regarding something in the financial “transfer”. Clinton was well paid as a Goldman speaker and consultant. That pay must have bought some influence with the Obama administration (my thoughts, what do I know?). Said administration assisted with the toppling of Gaddafi. Benghazi, etc. Al-CIA-da moved into Libya and largely took over. The country has been in chaos ever since – a side benefit?

nimbus-image-1485955187672

The main point and purpose was to allow the British to round up nearly the money – I heard estimates from $65 Billion to $200 Billion. Mission accomplished. For their part Goldman was probably promised or expected a commission. But, treason!, the British, the LIA, or someone reneged on the deal. (Clinton was kind of promised the White House; that fell through also).

Not that the general public cares, at all, but it’s likely that no-one politically or militarily involved wanted to risk an investigation into theft, war crimes, etc. Still, Goldman, was owed some of the money. So they attempted a settlement with the Libyan Investment Authority. For all purposes, practical and legal, it appears the settlement proceeded in reverse: the LIA sued Goldman in London. Goldman answered and counterclaimed for their money.

In October, Goldman won a $1.2 Billion judgement. The Ruling is 120-pages long, most of it boring as the Libyan desert. The Conclusion:

For the reasons I have set out above, I dismiss the LIA’s claim that the Disputed Trades
were the result of undue influence exercised over it by Goldman Sachs:

a. I find that the main motivation behind the offer of the Goldman Sachs internship to
Haitem Zarti was Goldman Sachs’ belief that he might be chosen to lead the LIA’s
new office in London and it would be beneficial for Goldman Sachs’ future business
prospects with the LIA for them to establish a good working relationship with him
at an early stage. I find that Mr Mustafa Zarti was keen for his younger brother to
work as an intern, though there is no evidence as to why he thought this was
important. Although the offer of the internship may have contributed to a friendly
and productive atmosphere during the negotiation of the April Trades, it did not
have a material influence on the decision of Mr Zarti and the LIA to enter into the
April Trades.

b. I find that there was no protected relationship of trust and confidence between the
LIA and Goldman Sachs. Their relationship did not go beyond the normal cordial
and mutually beneficial relationship that grows up between a bank and a client.
Goldman Sachs did not become a trusted adviser or a ‘man of affairs’ for the LIA.

c. There was nothing about the Disputed Trades that would raise a presumption, if
such a protected relationship did exist, that they were the result of undue influence.
I find that there are no grounds for concluding that the level of profits earned by
Goldman Sachs on the Disputed Trades was excessive given the nature of the trades
and the work that had gone in to winning them. Although the Disputed Trades may
be regarded as unsuitable for a SWF, there were other reasons why the LIA wanted
to enter into them and, if they were unsuitable, they were no different from many
other investments that the LIA made over the period in that regard.

428. It follows from my conclusions on the undue influence claim that the claim to set aside the Disputed Trades on the grounds that they were unconscionable bargains must also fail.

– Libyan Investment Authority v. Goldman Sachs Int’l.,  2016 EWHC 2530 ___, HC-2014-000197, at 427 – 428 (HC, London, Oct. 14, 2016).

Yeah. Nothing to see here. Some kid just wanted an internship or something. $1.2 Billion. These are not the sovereign funds you’re looking for. Move along.

The LIA is still nominally based in Tripoli. Why, then, is the money in London? Who is John Galt? Who cares? Good for Goldman. Everyone likes a winner.

The LIA has appealed the HC’s Ruling. However, the appeal is pretty much DOA. And that’s the way it is. All is right in the world. Goldman is free to concentrate on “diversity” in immigration and other weighty banking matters. The people of Libya are free to dodge the bullets of their weak new government and various bands of insurgents. And I’m free to move on from this story. Case closed.

I wish Trump well as our 45th President – mostly because I am optimistic he will do even just a few of the things he said that got him elected. And that those things will work for the best. That is in contradiction to my general assessment of where we are headed as a nation.

Folks, this is it. Love him or hate him, Trump is the last shot at regaining even a semblance of the Old Republic. It’s a very tall order and an extremely heavy burden. This is about reviving, maybe even imitating, not continuing. If he fails, then we enter new and uncharted territory. Dark territory. We should start to find out by the end of this year.*

Make France Great Again: Le Pen Leads National Poll

Some learned, one evening last November, that polls aren’t all they’re cracked up to be. Then again, this is huge. Marine Le Pen is the only candidate in France who grasps the problems facing her nation and Western civilization.

Right-wing populist Marine Le Pen of the Front National is now leading opinion polls ahead of France’s presidential elections in the spring.

A new poll from Ifop-Fiducial released Tuesday shows Le Pen at first place with the backing of 26.5 percent of voters, while her moderate center-right rival Francois Fillon, of Les Republicains, would receive just over 24 percent of the vote, the poll suggested.

“He is putting in place measures I have been demanding for years,” Le Pen said of Trump.
The new poll, which was conducted the first week of January, was based on a sample of 1,860 registered voters and has a margin of error of 1.3 percent.

The poll represents the first time Le Pen has led with voters since November, and coincides with a noticeable decline in popularity for Fillon, who was polling at roughly 28 percent in December.

Interestingly, Fillon’s slide in the polls comes the same week he said he was opposed to France’s exiting the Schengen Treaty and ending its participation in free movement between E.U. member states.

Fillon, however, has apparently recognized the extent of his tactical error, and on Wednesday is expected to announce his support for immigration quotas during a rally in Nice — the site of a brutal Islamic terrorist attack in July 2016.

It’s too late for Fillon and the globalists. But it is not too late for France or Marine. She’s not ahead because of economic issues though they certainly don’t hurt her.

Let me set this prediction in digital stone: this is France’s next President:

fn-marine-lepen-m

France 24.

The invaders should commence packing now.

By the way, if you don’t support Marine, then you hate women (and civilization).

The Fort Lauderdale shooter left five dead and wounded another six (some counts still say eight). He is in custody.

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – The suspected gunman in a deadly attack at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport “lost his mind” after coming back home from a one-year tour in Iraq, family members told the media.

Investigators are now looking into what may have set off 26-year-old Esteban Santiago-Ruiz into a shooting rampage that left five dead and six others wounded.

“Only thing I could tell you was when he came out of Iraq, he wasn’t feeling too good,” his uncle, Hernan Rivera, told the Bergen Record newspaper, as reported by The Associated Press.

Perhaps this was a case of cultural contamination mixed with PTSD. However, there is a strong suggestion of terrorism. Especially considering that Santiago-Ruiz walked into the FBI office in Alaska recently and told them he was working for ISIS. At some point it might pay off to start believing these people.

ISIS has yet to claim responsibility – something they’re prone to do in cases like this. They have a track record of associating mentally disturbed people into their operations. It could be a combination of factors.

Still, one thing is sure. Calls for gun control can’t be far behind. There’s already idiotic chatter about extending airport security to the front doors. Next it will be the parking lot entrance. Creeping incrementalism, none of which will stop ISIS or harden criminals.

Hopefully, given the nature of the incoming administration and Congress, these pleas for communism will ring in vain.

If it all adds up right, this story could be the perfect illustration of the stupidity of American foreign and terrorism policies. A soldier, dispatched to “fight” Islamists in Iraq comes back bat crazy as a result. Then, under the influence of the Islamists, he brings the terror home.

There are reasonably simple solutions to these disorders.

The “new normal” at the American airport.

The terror resumed immediately in 2017, in Turkey. And it didn’t take long to start again here. This was getting old last year.
