President Trump, in a Tweet (always), says he will deter the latest migrant invasion with the National Guard (if he has to).

Donald Trump threatened on Thursday to seal America’s southern border with military force unless Mexico intervenes to stop the flow of illegal immigrants traveling to the U.S. from Central America.

The stern, tweeted warning came as a group of more than 4,000 travels north through Mexico in the hope of reaching the United States, despite having no visas or other legal papers to enter.

Trump blamed his Democratic rivals for the resulting chaos, saying ‘they want Open Borders and existing weak laws.’

He resurrected the claim that launched his White House campaign in 2015, saying that ‘this large flow of people’ includes ‘MANY CRIMINALS’ and putting the words in uppercase letters for effect.

‘I must, in the strongest of terms, ask Mexico to stop this onslaught – and if unable to do so I will call up the U.S. Military and CLOSE OUR SOUTHERN BORDER!’ Trump wrote.

Okay. Proceed, Mr. President. This particular caravan, 4,000 strong, is just the latest formed column. A similar number of criminal invaders enter the US every four days or so – one, two, ten at a time and here and there. Make no mistake, this is an actual invasion. Because it’s migration-based, history shows that it’s worse than literal war.

Why hasn’t the military been deployed much earlier? Like in January of 2017? And will the military also scour the country for the supporters of the invading forces, those assorted enemy combatants, traitors to the Republic?

Time will tell. Unless it runs out. One might say, “time is of the essence.”

Military Parity vs. Nonintervention?

Parity: not necessary in terms of quality or quantity. Effectiveness, rather. Things change.

This morning (pre-scheduling this on Thursday night) I read a take on the new nuclear super weapons Putin was boasting of the other day. They may be real. And that may be real bad. Dr. Donald Miller, Jr. explains.

Then this (Thursday) evening I saw something by Vox Day. It seems that even without 100 MT bombs and hypersonic deliver capabilities, an enemy learns, rather fast, to adapt to the conditions of war. Read Vox’s take on yet another take:

This points out two more very good reasons not to engage in unnecessary foreign wars. First, you’re implicitly training your enemy. The longer you fight him, the more he will learn. Second, if you compound your error by engaging in “nation-building”, you will usually find yourself literally and explicitly training your enemy.

Over time, opposing forces tend to become more and more symmetrical. This is the process that we are beginning to see, both in terms of tactics and the demographics of the militaries themselves. US military supremacy was always bound to erode, because no military, not even the Roman legions have ever remained permanently superior. But this increasingly observed tactical symmetry is a clear indication that the erosion is picking up speed.

Minding one’s business comes to mind.

Oh, and happy Saturday!

The President held a Come-to-Jesus meeting with generals last month over American strategy (or lack thereof) in Afghanistan.

“We aren’t winning,” Trump complained, according to these officials. “We are losing.”

One official said Trump pointed to maps showing the Taliban gaining ground, and that Mattis responded to the president by saying the U.S. is losing because it doesn’t have the strategy it needs.

The White House declined to comment on internal deliberations.

The President says we are losing and the SecDef admits it is so – because strategy.

Lindsey Graham says Trump needs to listen to the generals “who have been in the fight” or else “Afghanistan is going to collapse.” I think he means listen to the same guys with(out) the strategy which has led to our losing which is kind of like a collapse. Of course, with Graham it’s hard to tell what the hell he’s talking about or thinking on anything.

We’re closing in on 16 years in Afghanistan. Four times as long as it took to beat Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan concurrently. Those countries had real militaries that fought back viciously. That’s also four times as long as it took Lincoln to defeat the Constitution CSA.

At this point the neo-Confederates have got to be liking their chances. So must the CALEXITers, Vermont Republicans, and anyone really looking forward to 2033.

Amazingly, some in New York and DC still want a war with Russia, or China, or Iran, or North Korea, or all of them (plus maybe a few more) at the same time. A strategy (or lack thereof) that can’t beat the Taliban in a decade and a half has no hope whatsoever against Russia.

A better strategy for Asia and elsewhere might be to hang it up and start minding our own business. The troops might serve better at home rounding up central bankers, Senators, SJWs, MS-13, ISIS, and other criminals.

The same government that claims to vet “refugees” and immigrants in general can’t even do it for those joining the military.

Defense Department investigators have discovered “potential security risks” in a Pentagon program that has enrolled more than 10,000 foreign-born individuals into the U.S. armed forces since 2009, Fox News has learned exclusively, with sources on Capitol Hill and at the Pentagon expressing alarm over “foreign infiltration” and enrollees now unaccounted for.

After more than a year of investigation, the Pentagon’s inspector general recently issued a report – its contents still classified but its existence disclosed here for the first time – identifying serious problems with Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI), a DOD program that provides immigrants and non-immigrant aliens with an expedited path to citizenship in exchange for military service.

Defense Department officials said the program is still active but acknowledged that new applications have been suspended.

Where’s one of those federal judges to immediately reinstate the program? The Pentagon could miss out on the best scholars and researchers ISIS has to offer.

Today marks the 50th Anniversary of one of the most disgraceful incidents in American military history: The Attack on the U.S.S. Liberty, AGTR-5, by Israel. 34 crewmen were killed and 171 wounded in a sustained assault, canon and torpedo fire, from the air and then from the sea.

The attack was entirely unprovoked and the response of the U.S. government was unconscionable. Rescue aircraft launched by the Sixth Fleet were called back immediately, even as the Liberty continue to take withering fire; called back allegedly by Sec. Def. Robert “May He Burn in Hell” McNamara himself.

Please read that linked Infogalactic article. There are other sources, including books, on the matter. You will hear nothing today (or any day/year) about this from the mass fake news media. The cover-up is ongoing even in 2017 – proof of this is that this is likely the first you’ve ever heard of the incident.

The entire event – from the initial meddling in/monitoring of someone else’s war to attack itself to the failed response to the horrible mistreatment/dishonoring of the dead and the survivors to the continuing silence – is more proof positive of the utter untrustworthiness of government.

The ship could not have had a more appropriate name. Remember the Liberty.

North to Canada

Word has it that many recent arrivals in the U.S. are preemptively self-deporting. This comes ahead of President Trump’s full measures to reform immigration and secure America for Americans. It seems that these good folks didn’t really want to live here after all. Canada, it seems, is where the warmer welcome and more generous welfare benefits may be had. Northern neighbors: buyer beware.

Bigger, Better Bombs?

During a visit to MacDill AFB in Tampa, the President told assembled troops he was going to heavily “invest” in America’s military. What he means by this remains to be seen. However, it sounds expensive, especially for a nation that already spends more on the military than the rest of the world and also happens to be dead broke.

If this has to do with a modernization, aimed at actual defense of the U.S. from terrorists, then good. If it has to do with the Iran saber-rattling, then … hmmmmmm…

Gaga for Gaga

I enjoyed Lady Gaga’s entertainment last night at Super Bowl LI (that’s “51” for the Falcons fans). Heck, I want to take her out!

Someone found something to grumble about. They think she was secretly sending hippy protest messages to the Soros Rent-A-Mobs. I honestly didn’t see it. Too busy watching her. So I looked again. Still just a short blonde beauty with an awesome voice. I’d better check her out check it out again to be sure.

And I have halted the memes for now. I lost my favorite. Deleted it or something. Anyway, the intended audience was too stunned today to notice. And it’s not nice to rub it in. Having said that, I leave you with this:

The Saner Side:2016 Libertarian Presidential Politics

By now even a blind and deaf man knows an election is brewing – the stench is overwhelming. The same old stupidity is on display from the two major parties. Under the watchful eye of the globalist banking masters the arrogant entertain the ignorant. Big statements and big promises for small minds. T’was enough to make a fish stare.

Team Democrat is preparing for the coronation of Her Magesty, Qween Hillary. The esteemed Mrs. Clinton soundly defeated the Old Commie Coot in South Carolina. Bernie should count himself lucky he hasn’t been found dead in a state park.

The Republican clown show rolls on. Donald Trump now looks so dominant the corporate handlers are considering a little science fiction in order to keep things interesting until the convention.

In three paragraphs I’ve just given the Republicrats more recognition than they deserve for their collective efforts over the past four decades. In terms of civil society they just don’t matter. Nothing they are or offer favors the free people or the notions of happiness and freedom.

Alternatives do exist, of course, for those still dedicated to the system. The Libertarian Party represents the biggest and best substitute for the lies and deceptions of big two. Theoretically the LP is the only viable option for Constitutional fidelity. It has but two drawbacks. First, at this late hour, it is pointless. Getting 1 – 2% of the popular vote is a lost cause, however noble. Second, the LP stands for organized government, albeit a smaller version. Government is never a good idea and it never stays small – consider our grand experiment of 1776. Still, if I voted, I would probably vote Libertarian.

The LP hosted a debate last night. I didn’t watch and I can’t find (easily) any transcripts. The best I could (easily) come up with is a record from the Massachusetts debate from last November. For laziness sake I’ll just focus on the first question: the role of the President and the roll of America’s military.

For comparison purposes remember that the Dems and the GOP view the military the same way. For them it is both the best way to forcibly advance the financial interests of their masters and the ultimate tool to silence dissent. Dems see it also as a jobs program, Republicans as a jingoistic rallying cry. All of this is fake. The last Republican candidate with any actual military service, Hon. Ron Paul, was effectively ridiculed out of the party.

The libertarian position is different, seeing the military for what it really is – a violent last resort against invasion, with not much legitimate use beyond.

Front-runner Gary Johnson did not attend the Mass. debate. His stance however mirrors those articulated. Also, winning the LP nomination is akin to winning the Par Three contest before the Masters. It’s fun but doesn’t count for the Tournament.

The military role …

Steve Kerbel answered: “As we all know, we should not be the police of the world. As we all know, many of the problems that we’re facing is because we intervened in other country’s sovereignty and so we need to stop doing that. And so, the way we do that with the military is that you start cutting expenses right off the bat.”

He concluded, “So, you know, it takes a reduction. It takes a focused effort. But it has to be towards liberty and staying out of everyone else’s business. That’s the best way to save money.”

The modern military costs A LOT of money. It takes money (from us) to make money for the Banksters (at our expense). Darryl Perry took Kerbel’s reduction concept further:

“In regards to how big should the military be, there should be no standing army. So ultimately, we would get to a U.S. military of zero people.” I’ll wait a second for my Republican readers to put their heads back on …

The standing army concept was greatly feared by the Founders. They wrote and rallied against it. The appropriation text of Article One of the Constitution was drafted to limit the existence of the military. Outside of wartime this is how the Old Republic operated for 150 years. Somehow, except for those wartimes, things were fine.

Marc Feldman continued: “The goal in my administration is to bring power back to the individuals. Admiral Mullen, retired former member of the joint chiefs said that we need to address the number one national security issue for the United States which is our national debt.”

These are all admirable and sane, if unpopular opinions. That, in a nutshell, is the LP – sane but far outside the mainstream. Such opinion is dangerous to the moneychangers. They stand to lose their lifestyle of easy domination if ever freedom and responsibility return to politics. Those who stand to gain the most, the American people, sadly just aren’t that interested.

My interest here is purely academic. For those involved just remember there are always other, better possibilities.

A Dichotomy Of Arms

A man in Wyoming was out riding his bicycle. According to him he was attacked by a vicious German Shepherd (Belgian Malinois). Fearing for his life he shot the dog to death with his trusty revolver. It’s a story you may have missed. It only made the news because the dog in question was a former military service dog, a Bronze Star recipient, no less. I find the story interesting because it sheds light on a schism amongst the American people.

Mike was a nine year old dog who previously served two combat tours in Iraq. Upon his retirement Mike was adopted by Matthew Bessler, a retired Army Ranger. Both veterans suffered from PTSD; they provided each other with beneficial companionship.

Bessler went hunting. He left Mike in the care of a friend. Mike wandered off and encountered the cyclist – with deadly results. There, the news story ends.

The cyclist was not charged, his use of deadly force deemed by police to be justifiable self-defense. A GoFundMe page has been set up in order to provide Mike with a military burial.

A sub-controversey surrounds the fact the lethal shot hit Mike in the rear or back. I discount this factor. Attacking dogs move very fast. Shooting scenarios move fast too. A shot in the back does not, by itself, disqualify self-defense, especially concerning an animal. The old, false adage that retreat is better if possible is dangerous when one crosses a predatory animal. Withdrawal might trigger a chase or hunt instinct which could be worse than the initial confrontation. Like everyone else, I was not present and I can only go by the shooter’s account, tempered by reasoned thinking.

On the surface I find this story sad all the way around. I regret Mike’s death. I regret the cyclist felt his life was endangered to the point of resorting to shooting. I’m sorry Mike and Bessler suffered PTSD. I’m sorry their conditions were the results of the government’s inexplicable and indefensible war in Iraq. It’s terrible some think we need that government.

Mike, another victim of the State. Daily Mail, UK.

Based on the bare facts reported by the (British) press, I support the cyclist’s account of the incident and his use of force. I can see a dog with PTSD (even if usually docile) becoming aggressive around a stranger. It happens.

I also hold Mike blameless. Even a vicious, dangerous animal is still just that, an animal. Mike was utterly blameless, too, regarding his military service and resulting illness. A human soldier with a conscious can object to illegal wars of aggression. A dog can’t.

Any blame here rests with the friend who was supposed to watch Mike. Large dogs should be leashed or fenced. Maybe there is no one to blame. Mike could have escaped a reasonable containment. Dogs do things like that. Maybe this was just a bad thing that happened – like a tornado or a freak accident.

At any rate, all of this is merely supporting background for my story. I noticed themes in the comments which accompanied the news which, upon further consideration, formed my titular dichotomy.

There were hundreds of comments which roughly divided into two camps. The first was supportive of the cyclist. They found the shooting justified. Most of these also held a pro Second Amendment bias. The other group was mortally offended at the death of a military hero, albeit a dog.

The former group fully supported the individual right of self preservation even if they found Mike’s death lamentable as I do. The latter hold the shooting of a military veteran indefensible under any circumstance.

There were a few other reactions. Some found the existence of the subject firearm the problem. I suppose some might hate bicycles or hate dogs. These opinions are outliers and safely factor out of my analysis.

Some pro-shooter comments:

Should have been on a leash.

…

Too bad for the dog but most communities have leash laws for a reason…and yes, many joggers and bicyclists are bitten by uncontrolled dogs, that’s why pepper spray is a good idea.

…

“Park County Sheriff Scott Steward said: ‘Essentially, if you feel your life is in danger or threatened by an animal, you can act against it.’ Exactly

Pro military, no matter what:

Sounds like another Democrat got there hand’s on a gun !!

…

this cyclist had no business killing this dog. Charges should be brought against him immediately.

…

I would not blame or feel bad at all and I would even back the dog owner if he wanted to take fatal retaliation against the cyclist. It is just. What the hell is wrong with people that want to kill a dog like that…This soldier has one more mission to accomplish! …huh rah!

…

I hope the shooter gets hit by a car and suffers a long painful death

These views show a division between otherwise aligned interests. Most of the folks are likely “conservative” by political philosophy, perhaps a few libertarian. “Liberals” would abhor the gun itself.

I see this as a difference of opinion between “red staters.” I suspect the majority of both sides generally support the carrying of individual arms. Both likely support justifiable self-defense. Here’s the division: the first group seems to support self-defense regardless of the aggressors status. They find a man free to act when illegally threatened. Period. I’ll call these the people “freedom lovers.” The others support self-defense unless the aggressor is a member of the hallowed legions of the state. I’ll call them “government lovers.”

The government lovers are more extreme. Not only do they want the cyclist prosecuted, they want him dead – by a “long painful death” – for a situation they did not witness. But, to them, the facts do not matter. They are more worshipers than mere lovers of the state. The government and its uniformed agents (even dog agents) must not be challenged – ever.

The worship of the state may be increasingly seen in American churches, particularly Evangelical protestant churches. Government has seemingly replaced God for many. Much of this stems from an overzealous but false interpretation of Romans 13. Paul was only speaking to legitimate state authority – authority not acting against God’s Natural Law.

The Nazis, acting under Hitler’s “legal” orders, carried out the murder of dissidents and other war crimes. Were these too God-sanctioned acts of official authority? I think not.

The statists see it otherwise – at least concerning the American government.

If American soldiers kill innocents overseas, regardless of conditions, it’s acceptable collateral damage. If the police shoot a dog it’s okay, even if the police are breaking their own laws during the shooting. The same standard applies to police shootings of innocent civilians. No matter the cause, no matter the circumstance, the government is never at fault.

In the odd event the government is at odds with one of its servants the lovers will throw the individual under the bus without thought or hesitation. The false god of the almighty state suffers NO challenge.

This highlights both a disdain for individuality and a lack of logic among the parishioners of official authority.

For those of us who value freedom over safety this dichotomy and this particular example illustrates both a dire problem and a hazardous solution for liberty. It reminds me, for some reason, of the Melian Dialogue (with a twist).

A bit of archaic history: In 416 B.C. Athens was perhaps the most powerful military force in the known ancient world. The Athenians sought to subjugate the small, peaceful island state of Melos. The Athenian navy arrived at Melos. The dialogue went something like this:

Athens: “Surrender and join us.”

Melos: “No.”

The Athenians then proceeded to exterminate the Melians and seize their island.

download

Ruins of Melos. Google.

Many in the freedom camp rightfully seek to resist the evil of the modern state. However, as to outright martial confrontation, they see no hope. Maybe they are right. The American military and police state is almost powerful beyond measure. Outright rebellion would be almost impossible.

It may though be possible to indirectly oppose state oppression. An individual might be able to resist a single agent of the state and legally get away with it. Such resistance is still fraught with gravest danger. After such an incident the individual will be faced with resentment and hatred of the government’s unthinking masses. Hatred to the point of murder in revenge.

A safer if slower strategy might be to seek out those of the opposing camp and convert them to the truth of freedom. If they can think and reason this may be possible. They can be armed without an army. They can be safe and secure absent official structure. They can act as individuals. They can regard God as God and alone the Supreme source of authority.

All of this is open for consideration. What say you?

Last week I posted a short bit about an odd, illegal police shooting in Atlanta. I caught a little flak from readers – mostly over the “innocent” nature of the subject home invasion and aggravated assault.

I saw the story as further proof of the American police state (no longer a theory nor “emerging”).

Nonetheless, I recognize some folks will support the police no matter what. Some have a love affair with government. Some see government as a god. These same people sometimes sport “Support Our Troops” bumper stickers and similar ornaments. Strangely, these same people usually view other parts of the state as dangerous – but they love the heavily armed parts. Weird, I know.

Such is the love and admiration for government troops that some will even take up arms to guard the very troops who supposedly guard the guards. Confusing, I realize. It gets even murkier when one considers that the endangering element from which the guards must be guarded was created by and imported by the government. No mind. The troops must be supported no matter what. Even when they, like the police, invade your property without cause and hold you at gun point. Read this:

Texas Air Force Personnel Detain Dove Hunters on Private Property

outdoorhub-texas-air-force-personnel-detain-dove-hunters-at-gunpoint-on-private-property-2015-09-03_15-20-26-880x503

Outdoorhub.com.

On Tuesday, the opening day of dove season in Texas, six hunters were detained by base personnel while traveling through private farmland adjacent to the base. The property was leased by the company that organized the hunt, Wildlife Systems, and had been used previously for hunting. Despite that, 17th Training Wing Security Forces entered the property and detained the hunting party—which reportedly also included the property owner.

…

“On a farm field that we lease that’s adjacent to the Base, surrounded by a security fence, they swarmed our group of 6 hunters, made them lay on their belly, spread eagle, for almost 30 minutes at gunpoint, two of them on asphalt in almost 100 degree temps and would not let them move, with our hunters pleading with them. One was laying in a red ant bed and they would not let him move.”

Base officials later stated that the hunters were detained because they were believed to be a threat, especially due to their proximity to the base. After it was determined that the hunters were only after doves, base officials said they were promptly released.

  • Outdoorhub.com.

I read the comments which accompanied this story. Roughly half were rightly indignant. The other half expressed unwaivering, religious support for the state’s criminal actors. In the clouded eyes of the latter group, dove hunting on your own land is akin to terrorism and worthy of assault or worse. Nothing must offend the (very sensitive) god-king.

I immediately thought this was a Posse Comitatus Act violation. The PCA forbids, under criminal penalties, the use of the federal military for civil law enforcement. Upon further consideration I realized this was just a case of law breaking, rather than enforcement. The MPs or “base personnel” are just guilty of trespassing and felony kidnapping.

They will not be published. One does not punish the god-king of the state. All those wacky laws, as applied to the government, are null and void. Even the revered Constitution has fallen:

“So you’re a Constitutionalist? We’ve had problems with this before!”

Long Valley, CA — Last month, the Feinman family was driving through a constitutionally questionable interstate checkpoint. This checkpoint is not on the US/Mexican border; it is along Highway 395N between California and Nevada.

When driving through these in-country checkpoints, you are not required to answer the agent’s questions (usually starting with “Are you a United States citizen?”). Nor are you required to consent to any searches.

Please note this story occurred in the United States not in Nazi Germany. The foolish family asserted their rights as free people and were promptly seized and arrested. The criminal state agents noted they had prior problems with Constitutionalists which means they have a problem with the Constitution – at least the parts concerning individual liberty.

To the sane among us it is patently obvious there is no legal protection in this country for us or our freedoms. The insane, the stupid, the craven will support the police, the troops, the government unto the bitter end. Something has to give.

The moral of the story is: support the government or they will invade your property, shoot your dog, and throw you to the ants.

Last week a naturalized, radicalized citizen shot and killed five servicemen in Chattanooga.  You’ve likely heard the story. No flags a wavin here.

You may also be aware that the “armed” forces are not in many places. Dedicated citizens have stepped up to provide security against such future attacks.

This is a kind sentiment yet it raises so many questions. It has also raised the ire of the ever sensitive, ever stupid government. The military does not want its employees protected.

I’m going to make sense of all this for you though many may see the truth already. Stay tuned.
