Turkey, Florida, and now Jerusalem. You’ll notice the JPost, unlike the American media, doesn’t mince words nor foolishly speculate about motives:

Four IDF soldiers were killed and 13 wounded after an industrial truck driven by a terrorist, rammed into a group of people adjacent to the Armon Hanatziv promenade in Jerusalem on Sunday afternoon.

Among the fatalities were three female soldiers and one male in their 20s. The terrorist was shot dead by security personnel at the scene.

Trucks are the new weapon of choice, both because of their easy accessibility and their cruise missile on land effect. Again, this is getting beyond old…

Fred Reed On Gun Control

Gun control does not equal crime control. Usually it makes things worse. Fred gets it.He gets a lot of things and generally in hilarious fashion. His take on international gun control failures:

The two most heavily armed countries in the world are (still, I think) Israel and Switzerland. In Switzerland, men of military age are (still, I think) required to keep an assault rifle and ammunition in their homes, and Israelis are similarly armed because, having enemies on their borders, they need to be able to mobilize rapidly.

In both countries murders by armed citizens are essentially nonexistent. By contrast, Mexico has strict gun control. Does anyone get shot in Mexico?

Yes, actually. Some 164,000 thousand shot dead between 2007 and 2014 (Figures vary. The foregoing are typical.) Pretty effective, gun control is.

Why do murders occur so exuberantly in a country with gun control? Because making guns illegal doesn’t make guns go away. In Mexico gun control means that criminals can have, and assuredly do have, high-powered military weapons, usually AKs–cuernos de chiva. Thus a dozen narcos can enter a large town and terrorize it. If a hundred men in the town had AR-15s, the dozen narcos would enter the town in pickups and forthwith leave in boxes. Gun control leaves the town disarmed and helpless.

Always remember that the goal of the gun grabbers is to render you helpless, defenseless. They want you a victim to their various criminal constituencies.

Average, oridinary Swiss Misses. The Truth About Guns.

Interestingly, and partly based on the above, the only real violent crime problems in Switzerland and Israel come from radical Islamic terrorists. They’re all around the Israelis and they’re pouring into Switzerland (though slower than in surrounding countries). The exact same people who would disarm you are the very people pushing the terrorist invasion. Funny, that.

Arm up!

I Think The U.S. Government Wants A War With Russia

Or enough of them do to cause a mild concern.

I was thinking about a pleasant little fun article on fall getaways, now that autumn is finally here. I’ll get to that directly. However I think maybe trying to avert nuclear war is just a little more important.

The Whitehouse, the Congress and the Pentagon are run by the goddamdest bunch of homicidal, lunatic, idiotic fools ever hatched.

The U.S. is fighting a soft, undeclared war in Syria. The details are purposefully murky but it seems we are backing various terrorist organizations aligned (sometimes) with rebels fighting the Assad regime. As usual the motives behind this war are: keeping Tel Aviv happy; helping the military-industrial criminal complex turn a profit, and; helping Satanic banksters print fortunes out of thin digital air. A side benefit is that the war displaces and angers people, giving Washington and its European fiefs importable terror ammunition in their greater war on their own peoples.

The problem with this “splendid little war” is the Russian element. The Russians are backing Assad for their own reasons and are intent on stamping out radical Islamic terrorists. Their reasons for involvement are: stopping the spread of terrorism to Europe and Russia (kind of important) and; maintaining stability in the region where Russia has trade interests (Assad may not be the nicest guy but he does hold things together – or did until the U.S. started meddling). The U.S. interests are the four I cited above. Which one benefits you?

The U.S. and Russia reached a cease-fire agreement in an attempt to work out issues and end the war. Washington immediately violated the terms by bombing a national military convoy – a move supporting ISIS. The U.S. does this on a weekly basis. The same ISIS that shoots gays in Florida, stabs Christians in Minnesota, and bombs the handicapped in New York. Putin has concluded the people in and around D.C. are beyond insane and not trustworthy with a water gun. He may be on to something.

The new lie in D.C. is: We didn’t do it! Russia did. All the evidence points to the DOD/CIA but the fabrication points to Putin.

The American projectionist fantasy loonies are out in force:

At the U.N.:

The US accused Russia on Sunday of supporting “barbarism” over the bombing of the Syrian city of Aleppo as the west stepped up diplomatic pressure on Moscow.
Accusing Russia of supporting a Syrian regime offensive that has derailed a ceasefire agreement negotiated between Washington and Moscow, Samantha Power, US ambassador to the UN, said Russian and Syrian forces were “laying waste to what is left of an iconic Middle Eastern city”.

In a blistering speech to an emergency UN Security Council meeting, Ms Power said: “Instead of pursuing peace, Russia and Assad make war.”

While Moscow was likely to argue that it was pursuing terrorists in Syria, she said that “Russia is espousing fiction”. “What Russia is sponsoring and doing is not counterterrorism; it is barbarism,” she added.

This is the Ivy-League, Irish, Anti-American, delusional, puesdo-academic, political hack of a harpy calling the traditional, Western Civilization defenders barbarians. It’s like the pot calling the kettle black only that the pot is smoking pot and the kettle is an intelligent, responsible government bewildered by the brazen stupidity of the pot.

It’s worse in D.C., where Defense Criminal Ash Carter and Marine Corps Crony Joseph Dunford met with the Arkham Asylum Committee of the Senate. The low-rent discussion centered on the recent bombing and cover-up lies.

Both of these tax-paid morons admitted they “had no facts” about the convoy bombs. However, they were armed with a healthy dose of neurotic fantasy.

“‘Not only our people – our defense industry partners, too, need stability and longer-term plans to be as efficient and cutting-edge as we need them to be,’ Carter told the senators.” How nice of him to think of the MIC at a time like thi$.

Carter, as crazy as any I have ever heard of, responded to the prissiest Senator in Washington, Lindsey Graham, that “the Russians are responsible for this strike whether they conducted it or not…” Whisky Tango Foxtrot? Again, those facts things…

Dunford, feeling left out of the madness, piped up about a “no-fly” zone: “Right now… for us to control all of the airspace in Syria would require us to go to war against Syria and Russia.” A war with Russia. From the same people who couldn’t beat nine lightly armed goat-herds in Afghanistan. Brilliant! Dunford effectively made the argument that D.C. is a “no-thought” zone.

Stirred out of his angry stupor Sen. McCain argued we could impose a zone without war. He has direct experience with the subject, having himself so deftly navigated such a zone in war previously.

One thing no one talked about is that America has absolutely no business in Syria whatsoever. None. Well, no legitimate interest. Sure banks and our defense industry “partners” need some more money. Sure we do get jihadi shooters in the women’s department at Macy’s. People get killed there and here. But are these really worth our time? Worth our lives?

Duck and cover is retro cool!

It would be one thing if this were another Iraq, Afghanistan or Libya. It’s not. “War against Syria AND RUSSIA!” Russia has nukes and the ability to get them to America in a hurry. They’re conventional forces ain’t too shabby either. These reasons have long prevented war with Russia. However, today, there is a new breed of stupid on the Potomac.

For more information, see Fred Reed’s analysis of the situation: Hillary, Trump, and War with Russia: The Goddamdest Stupid Idea I Have Ever Heard, and I Have Lived in Washington.

There really is no point in contacting “your” elected officials. They’re not yours and they’re crazy besides. “Your” two presidential choices each offer more of the insane same. Bought and paid for.

You’re only choices are: 1) write a letter to Putin and plead for his understanding; 2) build a fallout bunker in Idaho; 3) pray that the Lord deliver us from this nightmare and these reprobates.

Or you could just keep you’re head in the TeeVee. Keep watching overweight, low-IQ, millionaire felons who hate you play with a ball.

PS: A preview of my fall recommendations: the mountains, the mountains, the beach, a sea-side villa, and the mountains. The younger males among you might plan a trip to Syria if things go ill.

Will The U.S. Trade Folly For Madness?

Playing with fire is dangerous. Imagine a wildfire is burning nearly out of control. Half of the assigned firefighters try to extinguish it while the other half feed it. The given explanation is that while the fire may be dangerous, putting it out for good would be folly. In fact, say the fire experts, the firemen should seek to control and direct the fire to benefit adjacent homeowners. Does that make any sense? No.

The above scenario is fictional but it mirrors American foreign policy in the Middle East and elsewhere.

Paradoxical rumors have circulated over the past few years that Israel is partially behind ISIS, if not giving material support, then at least well-wishing. How could that be? Why would a Jewish nation support a violent and radical Islamic organization on its own back doorsteps? The strange answer and some validity to rumor partly appeared on August 2, 2016.

The Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, a right-leaning think tank in Israel, released a report calling for the maintenance (not the destruction) of ISIS.

Why? The so-called Islamic State “can be a useful tool in undermining” Iran, Hezbollah, Syria and Russia, argues the think tank’s director.

“The continuing existence of IS serves a strategic purpose,” wrote Efraim Inbar in “The Destruction of Islamic State Is a Strategic Mistake,” a paper published on Aug. 2.

By cooperating with Russia to fight the genocidal extremist group, the United States is committing a “strategic folly” that will “enhance the power of the Moscow-Tehran-Damascus axis,” Inbar argued, implying that Russia, Iran and Syria are forming a strategic alliance to dominate the Middle East.

“The West should seek the further weakening of Islamic State, but not its destruction,” he added. “A weak IS is, counterintuitively, preferable to a destroyed IS.”

Our frenemies in black. NBC.

The Israelis say getting rid of ISIS altogether would be folly. Come again!? The existence of ISIS, as it affects the West, isn’t counterintuitive, it’s plain stupid and suicidal. It would be one thing and different if ISIS were confined to Syria and Iraq. They are not. They regularly operate now, with devastating effect, in: Paris, Brussels, Nice, Munich, London, New York, Florida, Mississippi, California, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Virginia, and Minnesota.

Still, stupid is as stupid does. The U.S. has been simultaneously feeding ISIS while trying to steer it and at times quell it. Washington bows to special interests who chase power and profits while sacrificing American lives on the home front. In the bargain the government regularly gets to increase surveillance, “security” controls, and to call for gun control and other liberty restrictions. Abroad the government gets to demonize otherwise benign countries like Russia and Iran. One stupid course of action feeds another and so perpetuates the cycle.

These webs are truly mysterious, baffling. A young woman in Mississippi who does the same thing, pledging support to ISIS, is sentenced to 15 years in federal prison. And yes, the court found her mentally ill. We put mentally ill people in jail in America. This suggests our domestic policy is as insane as the foreign.

The American government is run by criminals and idiots. They are more than happy to trade real freedom for false security, peace for war, and folly for madness. If someone produced an accurate Bushite decks of ISIS cards (remember those from with al-CIA-da?), the aces would be people from D.C. These cards are already in play. Stop supporting these maniacs.

Divine Justice?

A crazy man in Israel tried to get a restraining order against God. I did not make this up.

The unnamed Haifa resident, pro se, “argued that over a three-year period God, had exhibited a seriously negative attitude toward him, although details of just what divine mischief he had borne the brunt of were not mentioned in the report.” Previously the man sought assistance from the local police, who instead chose to conduct welfare checks at the man’s home.

The judge denied the petition and suggested the man needs help from “other resources”. That probably means from a shrink. If psychology isn’t behind the man’s problems then he should consult his Torah and the trials of Job. Sometimes bad things happen to good people but rarely without greater reason.

This story illustrates a growing philosophical trouble in America, in Europe, and it seems in Israel. Modern people are placing inordinate faith in government – replacing the authority of God with that of the state. It is rightly the other way around. Positive law flows from the Natural Law which is a divine construct. God is originally behind all of our attempts to legislate and govern (some attempts truer, sounder than others). This would include courts and restraining orders. Heck, it includes the surrounding greater universe too.

The old maxim is “let justice be done, though the heavens fall” not “let Heaven fall for justice”.

Political Party Time!

I hate politicians.  In Christian terms it is wrong to hate any man.  Politicians are less men than rodents.  Thus, I feel exonerated in my feelings.  Elections are exercises in stupidity and herd-think.  Presidential elections are the worst.

H. L. Mencken summed it up best: “All of the great patriots now engaged in edging and squirming their way toward the Presidency of the Republic run true to form. That is to say, they are all extremely wary, and all more or less palpable frauds. What they want, primarily, is the job; the necessary equipment of inescapable issues, immutable principles and soaring ideals can wait until it becomes more certain which way the mob will be whooping.”  Mencken, 1920.

The difference between 1920 and 2015 is that, back then, there were people pretending to be true patriots.  At some point they dropped the pretense and proceeded from a desire for pure, unadulterated power.  The mob of the American people conveniently ignore this fact.  The television is just too entertaining to disagree with.  The country sinks lower into the sewer of politics.

A political “party” sounds like a fun time until one realizes the term refers not so much to an event as to a lowest, dumbest degenerates ever assembled under the sun (in truth, like all roaches, they prefer the darkness).  Washington warned against them. Mencken ridiculed them.  The people, ever plumbing the depths of stupidity, embrace them with jealous fervor.  It’s “us” Democrats against “them” Republicans and visa versa.  Spare the sane the idiocy of it all.

America is dominated by two predominate political parties.  They are nominally referred to as conservatives and liberals.  As I see it they both liberally dispense what may be conservatively described as bullshit.  The people seem to like it.

Third parties exist, apparently to provide comic relief for the big two.  I experimented with what I thought the most honest of these alternatives, the Libertarians.  Given the choice I would gladly be ruled by Libertarian politicians than those which currently plague us.  However, given power, I am sure they would be corrupted by the mainstream of political discourse.  Anarchy is the only happy solution.  The people do not like happy solutions.  Thus, we are suck with the rats and the roaches.

These parties care nothing about you.  They’re priorities are: bankers, Israel (Likudniks), and anyone else.  Not you.  Not me.

I am sick of this G*****ned nonsense and what it to f**king stop.  Okay? There is no difference between Democrats and Republicans!  They respect and represent neither democracy nor any republic.

fiscal-irresponsibility

(Different approach, same results.  Google.)

An illustrative story from the popular news presses:

If the God-fearing Republicans exist to save us from the Godless, communist Democrats, then why are Republicans Rallying to Save Obama’s Secret Trade Deal?  You can read more about this phenomenon here and here and here.

I’m not entirely sure what this new “secret” trade deal means for America.  But, first, it’s secret.  That means bad when it comes from Washington.  Second, it’s a trade deal. NAFTA and CAFTA, etc. have given American the SHAFTA.  I remember being lied to about NAFTA.  The dirty manufacturing jobs of old, they said, would give way to a new world of high-paying service jobs which would benefit everyone.

In truth, we have lost the industrial work, pay and all.  In exchange we have gained menial minimum wage employment serving hamburgers and such.  Robots and immigrants and Indians now do the productive work for real pay.  What a change.

I’m sure the new law – sure to happen – will be more of the same.  It supposedly grants the President new powers concerning foreign trade.  I understand Obama caught wind of a few, final high-paying jobs left in American and is determined to stamp them out. The displaced workers will receive healthcare and cell phones for the bargain – at a cost.

A few Democrats and Rand Paul (son of the mighty Ron Paul), realizing the potential liabilities of robbing the people of their last shot at the American Dream, have stood in the way.  Paul filibustered against the deal in the Senate.  His speech fell of deaf and stupid ears.  The President will get his way, supported by the “conservative” opposition.  Trade will be geared ever towards non-American interests.  Americans will lose jobs.  Reality TV will continue to be popular among the uneducated rabble.

Just remember this when the election rolls around and the Bush/Romney/Christie machine makes the usual patriotic rumblings.  Remember it when Hitlary bashes the GOP for being unsupportive of freedom.  Blah, blah.  Sounds like the same old BS to me.

Remember, if you can, how the various Democratic Congresses and Bill Clinton ran up the national debt, creating new and useless government programs along the way.  George Bush, the dimmer, was elected to change all that.  He promptly created new agencies and doubled the debt while commencing new wars everywhere.  His Excellency, Barack Hussein Osama, was elected to reverse course.  Dutifully, he doubled the debt again while continuing and adding to the wars.  Now he wants to finish off the trade work began by Clinton and Bush the Vomiter.  I see a conspiracy.

The people, bloated by beer and television see nothing.  They hear nothing.  They say nothing.  One of the new fools (or an old fool) foisted upon us by the elite will be the next President.  Business will continue as usual.

Spare me your partisan rhetoric this year and next.

More Ancient Legal Doctrines of Self-Defense/Preservation

This is the second installment in my new series about the Second Amendment, militias, government, and the natural right of self/defense.  After a few more segments I’ll get to the American experience.  This column is concerned with more ancient sources. Read on.

My last segment concerned the Natural Law and the provisions therein allowing for armed resistance of force and tyranny.  For those not acquainted with Natural Law (American attorneys, etc.), it is the universal law instituted by God for the management of human societies.  God’s first draft was extraordinarily simple, as He supposed that people would be capable of easily governing themselves in paradise.  The law was codified as: “Don’t eat that fruit.”  Unfortunately, the first humans were as dense as their descendants today.  They ate the fruit and thus complicated our lives forever.

God later attempted to set out ten simple laws He expected us to obey.  True to our fallen, fallible, self-determining ways, we messed those up too.  After constantly displaying an inability to adhere to the simple, the ancient Hebrews began to demand of God a “modern” system of government for themselves.  They seemed jealous of surrounding Peoples who had, among other things, kings.  God, in His omnipotence, offered that they Hebrews didn’t really need or want a king.  They begged to differ, instituted a king, and began to suffer immediately.

After the failure of the kings, and the subjugation of the people by more powerful earthly empires, God sent His Son in yet another attempt to clarify His law.  Jesus, simultaneously ratifying the existing law and providing an alternative route to salvation, issued another simple commandment.  We have not been too quick to pick on that one either.  Thus, it appears that people are stuck with their worldly trappings and their constant inability to deal honestly ad logically therewith until the Second Coming.  Thus, in our present state, and if we are even capable, we must attempt to relate our world to the eternal principles of the Lord.  That is Natural Law.  Having ignored and broken the concrete mandates given us, we are left to guess at how such Law applies to our civilizations.  Unlike the laws of science, math, and physics, which are difficult but possible to extrapolate and apply, the Laws of society are much less definable.  This grasping process has been the work of scholars and theologians for millennia.

The Law as applied to self-preservation has been called the first law of nature.  This makes sense as, without resorting to keeping ourselves from harm, most of the other “laws” we can divine seem to matter little.

Previously, I examined several Bible verses which supported the right of self-defense and preservation.  I also cited the Catechism of the Catholic Church regarding the duty (not only the right) to defend oneself and those in one’s charge.  This doctrine has existed for thousands of years.  We are commanded: “Rescue the weak and needy; Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.”  Psalm 82:4.

King David, definitely not a pacifist, praised God, saying, “Blessed be the Lord my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.”  Psalms 144:1.  First Samuel 25:13 described an Israelite muster: “And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword.  And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword.”  The Israelites were a militia, not a standing army, note that David and every man was equipped with his sword, not a government issue model.  Men were expected to report for duty already armed with their own weapons.  That means they had to keep and bear those weapons in order to fulfill their duties to their society.  This was also the early American situation, as it should be today.

These weapons were and are necessary to preserve freedom in society.  Any sane man will pray that he never need use any measure of force in defense however, he should be ready to do so if necessary.  The fifth or sixth Commandment (depending on how counted) clearly sets forth God’s intention to preserve life:  “Thous shalt not kill.”  It is also translated, “Thou shalt not murder.”  Exodus 20:13, Deuteronomy 5:17.

The second translation is a prohibition on illicit killing, the first is a total ban.  In a perfect world it would be natural to follow a total ban on killing others made in God’s image.  However, as noted above, we have removed ourselves from perfection, be it temporarily.  Thus, given where we are, while we should strive for perfection, we may be limited to keeping from unlawful killings.

In Leviticus, it appears that everything carries the death penalty.  Many of these provisions have actually been codified into civil law over the ages.  I’m not sure if anyone was ever executed for eating a shrimp.  However, Leviticus gave us the basis for many capital crimes still such today.  Accordingly, killers (murderers) may be executed in contravention of the Lord’s prohibition on killing.  Leviticus 24:16-17.  Numbers and Deuteronomy give further qualification as to which killings are crimes versus accidents.

Coupled with those passages I cited last time, these dictates seem to logically indicate that force, including lethal force, may be used to repel unjust criminal activities.  The attendant duty upon us is to use the least force necessary to accomplish our defense.

Jesus exercised the ultimate restraint, in this regard, while enduring His treatment at the hands of His native detractors and Pilate.  Jesus made clear His purpose: “I came into the world…to bear witness to the truth; and all who are on the side of truth listen to my voice.”  John 18:38.  Demonstrating an eternal human misunderstanding, Pilate replied “What is truth?”  His purpose was not to overthrow earthly tyranny, but to provide an eternal alternative.  Rather than being an act of non-self-defense, Christ’s actions were the ultimate act of defense of others.  This truth may have been lost on one Roman, it was not on all Romans.

American law has been greatly influenced by our colonial past and our origins under the English Constitutional and common law.  In turn, English law was dependant on ancient Rome for many of its sources.  It must be remembered that the Kingdom of Britain once co-existed with the Eastern Roman Empire.  Thus, the legal traditions passed to the Isle of Britannia were those of earlier Roman glory – from the Republic and the earlier Western Empire.  From the founding of Rome until the time of Cicero, Roman laws were largely unwritten, even the Constitution.  Codification cam much later, under Justinian.  The Codex Justianius was issued in 529 A.D., five decades after the fall of the West.  The Digesta of ancient law was written soon thereafter.  Thus, began our tradition of dual sources of law – statutes and case-law.

justinian_venice_rgzm

(Justinian.  Google.)

I previously cited to the Codex for its express allowance of the use of armed force to deter attack, by private parties and government agents.  This dual provision is tremendous as it presupposed that no-one is above the law and that even government force may be repelled when illegitimate.  Increasingly in America, the government takes the opposite position – that it is infallible and may not be resisted, even when tyrannical.  This is nonsense and may be disregarded as such.

In the next installment I will delve into the English tradition regarding arms and defense.  This tradition slowly coalesced into the modern theory of the militia being comprised of armed individual men.  Here, I will briefly note some of the long-standing traditions concerning arms in the British Isles before the rise of the common law and the Magna Carta.

“England” has been populated by various peoples probably for about 10,000 years.  The earliest peoples there were organized along the lines of families and tribes, each with its own society and rules.  It is obvious that most of these people were armed as they were constantly at war with one another and with the occasional outsider.  It is clear as mud as to what extent they retained formal doctrines regarding rights, arms, militia duties, etc.  “Self” defense often involved the entire tribe and was given to degenerating into all out war.  We could assign the Lex Talionis “the law of revenge” or the “law of the jungle” as the chief governing principle of these early Britons.

As the centuries B.C. counted down, civilization and order began to grow in the Isles.  Legend has it that King Arthur was able to unite most of the peoples of lower England under his banner.  Whether he pulled a sword out of a stone is another matter but it seems that by his time (7th Century B.C.) swords were common among the people, both for use defensively and for militia service.

Thus, when the Romans arrived in 43 B.C., they found a fierce and well armed people, not at all amenable to taming.  Four centuries of Roman occupation saw many changes in English life, including the ordering of the militias more along the lines of precise Legionary lines.  This, civil and engineering upgrades, and Christianity generally served to the benefit of the people, then and following the Roman’s departure.

Following the Romans, came the Angles, the Saxons, and eventually the Normans, each of whom introduced new character to England.  By at least the Twelfth Century England had evolved into a nation-state, not entire undistinguishable from its present form.  Then, standing armies were rare and the kings relied upon their subjects to form militias during times of needs.  Accordingly, free-men were expected, even ordered to keep arms for their and the common defense.  Assize of Arms, Henry II (1181).

King John signed the Magna Carta in 1215 which, in Section 61, provided for armed rebellion of sorts (lead by the nobility) in the event the Crown became tyrannical.  This process, of course, necessitated the continued institution of armed citizens.

magna carta

(Magna Carta Memorial, Runnymede, England.  Google.)

Next time, I will move forward in history and begin covering more modern English sources concerning the people, their rights, especially concerning arms and defense.  This will serve as a prelude to the customs of those English persons who colonized America, carrying the ancient traditions with them.
