Cigars Are Healthy: More Government Lies Debunked

cigars, evil, FDA, freedom, government, government evil, health, lies, science

Two of my major themes here are that I: 1) hate government in all its evil lowliness, and; 2) I love cigars. Today I have greater reason to champion both of these worthy ideas.

The FDA is waging all out war on the premium cigar industry. Stupid law after draconian regulation threaten to disrupt if not kill the family of the leaf. It’s all part of the government’s larger war on freedom. They hate us, seeing us as little more than cattle to be milked of taxes until we die. Die will shall some day but not due to our cigars.

Cigars are bad, lies the state, because of children and health and safety and other BS – all of it dead wrong. It seems that the FDA has in its possession an in-house study which shows there are no significant health risks associated with smoking 1 – 2 cigars per day. The study was an amalgam of multiple independent medical studies conducted between 1965 and 2000.

The study noted that all examined types of cancers and maladies were in some way associated with cigars – they found that people will eventually die of something. Most people know that anyway. However, the increased risk associated with cigars is negligible, almost nonexistent; it looks to be an average increase of about 1%.

That’s it. One percent and cigars are bad. Most scientists and statisticians will tell you about something known as the margin of error in studies like this. It may be that cigars actually impart zero risk.

Of course the government spun its finding – when it finally released them – in the typical dishonest official way. (Seems to me they’ve been hiding this information). They summarized their findings, saying that cigar smoking is associated with death. They left out the contributing percentages which, again, are effectively nothing.

Here are some of the statistically insignificant findings (note all the single digits and zeros):

nimbus-image-1472257910922

Heartland Institute.

None of this should come as a surprise, especially to the cigar community. Government is a giant lie personified; it is pure Satanic evil from Hell.

As part of the new cigar regulations which took effect at the beginning of the month, cigars now come with warning labels, such as:

  • Cigar smoking can cause cancers of the mouth and throat, even if you do not inhale.
  • Cigar smoking can cause lung cancer and heart disease.
  • Cigars are not a safe alternative to cigarettes.

Lies, lies, and more lies. Government needs its own “Government Warning” label.

And even this study only looks at health risks (none) and not health benefits. Cigars were prescribed for decades as medical treatment for a variety of illnesses, from asthma to anxiety. Cigar smokers tend to be happier people. Now there’s more reason to be happy.

So it is that my love of cigars is well justified – now by medical science. Also vindicated once more is my atavistic hatred of the dread institution of the state. In coming posts I may explore ways to deconstruct the menace of government. For now, I’m going to enjoy a healthy cigar.

IMG_20160717_185822817_HDR

Smoke on that, my friends.

By the way, I was serious:

GOVERNMENT WARNING: Government is a known leading cause of death, destruction, disinformation, theft, hatred, general misery and human suffering. To Hell with it.

Will The U.S. Trade Folly For Madness?

Playing with fire is dangerous. Imagine a wildfire is burning nearly out of control. Half of the assigned firefighters try to extinguish it while the other half feed it. The given explanation is that while the fire may be dangerous, putting it out for good would be folly. In fact, say the fire experts, the firemen should seek to control and direct the fire to benefit adjacent homeowners. Does that make any sense? No.

The above scenario is fictional but it mirrors American foreign policy in the Middle East and elsewhere.

Paradoxical rumors have circulated over the past few years that Israel is partially behind ISIS, if not giving material support, then at least well-wishing. How could that be? Why would a Jewish nation support a violent and radical Islamic organization on its own back doorsteps? The strange answer and some validity to rumor partly appeared on August 2, 2016.

The Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, a right-leaning think tank in Israel, released a report calling for the maintenance (not the destruction) of ISIS.

Why? The so-called Islamic State “can be a useful tool in undermining” Iran, Hezbollah, Syria and Russia, argues the think tank’s director.

“The continuing existence of IS serves a strategic purpose,” wrote Efraim Inbar in “The Destruction of Islamic State Is a Strategic Mistake,” a paper published on Aug. 2.

By cooperating with Russia to fight the genocidal extremist group, the United States is committing a “strategic folly” that will “enhance the power of the Moscow-Tehran-Damascus axis,” Inbar argued, implying that Russia, Iran and Syria are forming a strategic alliance to dominate the Middle East.

“The West should seek the further weakening of Islamic State, but not its destruction,” he added. “A weak IS is, counterintuitively, preferable to a destroyed IS.”

Our frenemies in black. NBC.

The Israelis say getting rid of ISIS altogether would be folly. Come again!? The existence of ISIS, as it affects the West, isn’t counterintuitive, it’s plain stupid and suicidal. It would be one thing and different if ISIS were confined to Syria and Iraq. They are not. They regularly operate now, with devastating effect, in: Paris, Brussels, Nice, Munich, London, New York, Florida, Mississippi, California, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Virginia, and Minnesota.

Still, stupid is as stupid does. The U.S. has been simultaneously feeding ISIS while trying to steer it and at times quell it. Washington bows to special interests who chase power and profits while sacrificing American lives on the home front. In the bargain the government regularly gets to increase surveillance, “security” controls, and to call for gun control and other liberty restrictions. Abroad the government gets to demonize otherwise benign countries like Russia and Iran. One stupid course of action feeds another and so perpetuates the cycle.

These webs are truly mysterious, baffling. A young woman in Mississippi who does the same thing, pledging support to ISIS, is sentenced to 15 years in federal prison. And yes, the court found her mentally ill. We put mentally ill people in jail in America. This suggests our domestic policy is as insane as the foreign.

The American government is run by criminals and idiots. They are more than happy to trade real freedom for false security, peace for war, and folly for madness. If someone produced an accurate Bushite decks of ISIS cards (remember those from with al-CIA-da?), the aces would be people from D.C. These cards are already in play. Stop supporting these maniacs.

America, cigars, election, freedom, government, politics, Russell Wilder, The People, Top Shelf Cigar Shoppe

A friend of mine owns a cigar shop. Okay, several of my friends own cigar shops. However, so far as I know, only one is politically connected. Yesterday his Letter to the Editor appeared in the Augusta (GA) Chronicle. It was half impassioned defense of his livelihood and the premium cigar industry and half pragmatic appeal for Trump votes.

0906121812 - Edited

Regarding the later half, it was perhaps the best argument I have heard for voting for Donald Trump. I have copied Russell Wilder’s letter below (with his implied and assumed permission…). Please give it a read through. I was not swayed to the Trump Train though I support Russell’s libertarian ideals and his exemplary business. (By the way, if you are in Augusta and you need cigars … go see Russell and the boys!)

I don’t participate in popular politics or the Great Quadrennial Black Mass anymore because I am an esteemed member of the media. I have to maintain my neutrality… It was hard to write that while laughing. Seriously though, I have to maintain a free fire zone for all pols to stumble blindly into (don’t even have to bait ’em). I also acknowledge that the Old Republic has ended; I see no need to rearrange the deck chairs.

For those of you still in the system and leaning conservative, I encourage you strongly to consider Mr. Wilder’s sensible arguments. One may substitute “tobacco shop” with any honest field of business. I have some further commentary below but here is the letter:

Russell Wilder, We Must Vote For Trump, Letter to the Editor of the Augusta Chronicle, August 23, 2016:

For those who say they can’t vote for Donald Trump because he is not a real conservative, and they must stand for their conservative principles:

I voted my conscience in 2008 for Bob Barr, and again in 2012 for Libertarian Gary Johnson for president. What did that get me? It got me President Obama.

It got me the State Children’s Health Insurance Program expansion, along with its 40-cent-per-cigar federal tax increase; an increase of $1.67 to a $2.76-per-pound pipe tobacco tax; and a $23.67-per-pound increase in the cigarette tobacco tax.

Then three months later it got me the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act of 2009. This act gave the Food and Drug Administration the authority to regulate all tobacco products.

I used to be idealistic about what we can do to change our republic, but I no longer have time to wait and hope people will come to their senses, and become educated and involved in our self-governance.

I am losing my business that I have poured my blood, sweat and tears into. I have invested my hard-earned money, my time and my heart into creating a business that employs three people and serves my community and my customers. My business generates property taxes; sales taxes for the state and my county; federal excise taxes; and thousands of dollars in donations to charities in my community.

Gary Johnson has zero chance to win. He will not win one single Electoral College vote. Hating on Trump and “voting your principles” will elect Hillary Clinton. Is Trump my first choice for president? No! Is he my best option to keep my business viable so all my hard work won’t go to waste? You bet!

Is our political system in need of an overhaul? You bet! Are the two choices we have in November less than desirable? Of course! Is anyone other than these two candidates going to win in November? Absolutely not!

I’m a businessman. I have to deal with what I am given, and make the most of it for the best result I can get. I have to play the hand I am dealt.

Either Trump or Clinton will be elected Nov. 8. I choose the Republican nominee. I’m not completely sure what to expect if Trump wins, but I am completely sure what to expect if Clinton wins – and it won’t be anything positive for business.

When you have a business that means everything to you that is being destroyed by the federal leviathan, come and talk to me about your conservative principles.

If you feel we need to change the political system, as I do, it is too late to make meaningful changes for this election. I can assure my conservative friends that voting for a third party, voting for Clinton or not voting at all in protest won’t change anything. It will give us President Hillary Clinton, who will continue the failed policies of Obama.

Very well said, my friend. I read through some of the on-line comments that followed, as did Russell. A few folks actually grasped the important issues – freedom, mainly. The most of them were contributed I think by a robot. Those opined incredible stupidity; no actual person that dumb could operate a computer. It had to be an anti-freedom robot.

Among the drivel spouted by the evil AI, Russell was:

Accused of killing 500,000 people per year;

Compared to a meth or crack dealer;

Assumed to sell cigarettes; and

Being a “far-left” “loonie”.

If these remarks are not the result of a Satanic computer program, then the former Republic is inhabited by people so retarded as to be unable to operate any type of government let alone grasp individual liberty.

In any event I applaud my friend’s championing of freedom and his business interests. That some will continue to fight the good fight no matter what means there is hope for a later revival. I take comfort in the thought there may be cigars in the new Renaissance.

The Black Slime That Ate D.C.

I misunderstood a story at the Mirror. It seems that, as from a horror film, an unstoppable black slime is slowly creeping and oozing all over buildings and monuments in the Imperial Capital. Naturally, I assumed they meant the government itself. Nope.

hqdefault (1)

The Blob, 1958.

The slime, a black powdery substance, is just an air-fed micro-organism of some sort. I don’t think it’s toxic or, if it is, it has to be the least toxic thing in that town. Still, the Uruks complain that it is graying the appearance of many a white marble facade.

‘It’s called slime, but when you touch it, it’s dry; it doesn’t come off on your fingers,’ noted CBS News’ Mark Albert when he visited the area.

Because of its dryness, it’s even more difficult to clean off, said Mike Litterst of the National Park Service.

All biofilm, which is a colony of microscopic organisms, really needs to grow is nutrients and a surface such as stone. Many famous monuments all over the world have the same issue.

Rain can cause pits to form in smooth stone surfaces over time, creating the perfect petrie dish for the slime.

But getting rid of it isn’t as easy as soap and water.

Wars everywhere, economic oblivion, an invasion, and utter decay of nearly everything civic or good and all they care about is scrubbing some microbes. That should tell you where the government’s priorities are. They’re serious too – they’ve sought help from scientists the world over.

I have an easy fix. My solution will surely dry up, burn up the powder while getting rid of the other slime too. I recommend fire. Lots and lots of fire.

Alternate Predictions: Hillary’s First 100 Days and Beyond

I still have this feeling that Donald John Trump will become America’s 45th President. It’s just a feeling, I must admit. I base it on two ideas. Trump likes winning and, by the numbers, he still has a narrow opportunity. Rumor grows, and is well-reasoned, that Trump is really a Clinton plant trying to throw the election to his old friend. That seems quite likely too. If that’s true, then a large percentage of the people are being cruelly played. That is nothing new in politics (the norm really).

The people form the basis of the other half of my Trump victory rationale. One would think that after so many recent decades of crime and deceit from Washington, the voters would welcome any outsider with open arms. Trump may be a narcissistic megalomania, a connected corporatist insider, a New York City liberal, and a long-time friend of the Clintons, but at least he is not a Clinton himself. There is, not as of now, any suspicion of Donald having murdered anyone, let alone half a cemetery. This would be the lesser of two evils factor.

Then again, it is never safe to overestimate the American public with its goldfish-like memory and gullibility of a three-year-old. They have made clear they are not interested in any third-party disruption of the Democrat-Republican alliance for the greater good of the bankers of the world. Thus, I need waste no energy on Gary Johnson or any one else. It is also useless to speculate of the resistance Hillary may face from a nominally Republican Congress. Any such will be slight and fleeting.

This is a story about Clinton who does, my feelings aside, stand a very good chance of becoming your next president. I say “your” not “our” because I will have nothing to do with it, either way. Having separated from politics and much of popular culture, I am now planning a full divorce. I’ll still be around, offering a real alternative, but this is your pointless fight.

Speaking of pointless, Hillary has already begun to assemble her transition team and is laying out her first term goals. It largely consists of three phases: 1) more government; 2) more government, and; 3) …more government. If you’re “with her”, then you must agree that the past 240 years of constant expansion just hasn’t been enough.

bio-photo-25

HillaryClinton.com.

While the tone of the agenda is tax and spend, there must be a healthy yet undisclosed dose of debt expansion. Assuming she has two terms, I conservatively estimate she will leave you with between $40 and $55 Trillion in on-books debt, circa 2024. If all goes well by her plans, the total unfunded liabilities will lurch towards $300 Trillion.

If all does not go well (and when does it?), then the Treasury and/or the Fed (and you by proxy) may have to assume some of the fictitious losses from the bursting of the derivatives bubble. In that case, multiply those already rosy numbers above by a factor of two to five.

Under a worst case scenario Hillary might spend much of her second term attempting to reorder the currency itself – a revaluation of high magnitude designed to offset the effects of inflation, hyper or otherwise. To borrow some of Jesse Jackson’s lingo, this revaluation will be devaluation, leading to evisceration. Also, look for the confiscation of your passports – you vote for this and you’ll have to stay and live with it.

Some of her agenda deals with:

Infrastructure rebuilding

America’s roads and bridges do need an overhaul. This would be best accomplished through privatization and user fees. Instead, look for new wasteful government programs complete with generous graft. These are to be paid for with new taxes on “the rich”. They will involve taxing a dollar to spend a quarter; the bargain will, as always, be passed on to you. Congratulations, you’re rich.

Immigration Reform

All illegal immigrants will be sanctioned and their extended families and friends welcomed to come in as well. More emphasis will be placed on expediting an increased flow of terror-prone muslims from the Middle East and elsewhere.

Promises will be made that this is an end measure, not to be repeated again. Those will be lies which the people will accept even if they know better. The goal is to have America majority non-white, non-European BEFORE 2050. The plan will work well, the results less so.

Gun Control

One of Hillary’s official unofficial aims is to diminish the Second Amendment. An outright repeal will be virtually impossible though completely unnecessary. A parade of “common sense” reforms should do the trick.

One of the first measure to come shall be the universal abolition of immunity for firearms manufacturers. When Mohammed bin Mohammed el Mohammed, freshly immigrated as a “refugee”, shoots and kills 50 people in the name of Allah, look for a class-action lawsuit against Sig Sauer. Bankrupting gun makers is as good as eliminating the Second Amendment.

This and more will be facilitated by Hillary’s Supreme Court. I imagine her whole aim in the appointment process will be to ram through one or more anti-gun candidates. Look for the same in the lower federal courts.

Beset with similar problems as the U.S., Germany stands to see an increase in gun ownership. As their defensive capability rises, so Hillary will have yours fall.

Universal College

This one will be especially popular. As the economy declines further and fewer people have the ability to find work, more will desire to waste four to ten years in various do-nothing college programs. And as universal healthcare worked out so well, so it may be with higher “education” (no actual education, no learning, is expected).

This may be approached in a variety of ways but will necessarily involve more public debt. More of the burden of existing private education debt may (will) be shifted to the taxpayers as well. This will account for $1 – $5 Trillion of the new (recorded) debt.

All Other Existing Entitlements

These will be safe and sound and expanded as time allows. More debt will flow.

War

Hillary has no stated claims of belligerence against any particular foes. At least none that I am aware of. Yet, as the above policies fail miserably there will be a need to divert the public attention. Look for near-perpetual war in the future – most of it in the Middle East. That will: allow the constant flow of terrorists into the U.S.; provide huge profits for the MIC and the banks, and; keep Americans preoccupied.

Do not look for any victories in the traditional sense. If the wars end up involving Russia or China, actual military defeat may be possible. Winning and losing are immaterial; it’s the spending that counts.

Debt and Money

As I’ve explained, the debt will continue to grow apace. The already worthless dollar may come to be itself something worse – an actual nuisance. Hillary will do whatever it takes to protect the cabal and ensure their increased power.

Much of this agenda, most maybe, will come to pass if Trump wins. After the election in November I plan to publish a set of predictions of what will follow in the next one to eight years and beyond. That will allow me a string of “see, I told you so” articles.

The America you knew is over. The Republic is a thing of the past and will not be revived any time soon, if ever. Better days will follow but much pain will be experienced to get to them. And they will be different from those of the past. Hopefully they will bring the people a little enlightenment. That may be too much to ask.

Frankenstein’s Monster: The DIA, ISIS, and You

For a long time I have, on this site, said ISIS/ISIL was a CIA creation. There’s no doubt that agency assists the terror group (while sometimes disrupting it too). However, the actually creation probably came from another, lesser known alphabet agency – the DIA or Defense Intelligence Agency.

Roger Stone explains today the short and terrible history of the birth of a modern menace:

Judicial Watch proved it. Under a Freedom of Information Act request, Judicial Watch was able to obtain a (heavily redacted) copy of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) directive that initiated the creation of ISIS in 2012. the DIA report states,

“THE WEST, GULF COUNTRIES, AND TURKEY [WHO] SUPPORT THE [SYRIAN] OPPOSITION . . . [SUPPORT] ESTABLISHING A DECLARED OR UNDECLARED SALAFIST PRINCIPALITY IN EASTERN SYRIA . . . IN ORDER TO ISOLATE THE SYRIAN REGIME . . .”.

Not even Judicial Watch seems to have appreciated the significance of this document, where its press release focused on the Benghazi attack. Recent releases of Hillary’s emails, moreover, confirm that taking out Assad has nothing to do with his alleged abuse of the Syrian people but because it will help Israel.

…

* On 22 June 2015, ex-CIA contractor, Steven Kelley, explained the US “created ISIL for sake of Israel” and to have a “never-ending war” in the Middle East, which would make the countries there “unable to stand up to Israel” and to provide “the constant flow of orders for weapons from the military-industrial complex at home, which is feeding a lot of money to the senators pushing for these wars”.

That last paragraph explains what the mad scientists were thinking, why they brought this thing to life: never-ending war and a lot of money. That pretty much sums up the existence of government. Sure, a lot of the little people get killed, but the big people, the right people stand to profit immensely.

hqdefault

Pete Santilli/YouTube.

There’s not only budgetary and contract loot at sake but also a means to hold power. ISIS gives the political rats something else with which to menace and control the population. This is possible because the monster has left the lab. It’s real and it’s on our streets. ISIS now freely operates in Europe and North America, killing and frightening people who might not care what it did, otherwise, in the Middle East.

That’s the truly insidious part of this plot. The same people who made this problem are the same ones who have unleashed it on the West. Having ISIS active in Syria, et al, allows big spending for the MIC. Bringing ISIS into America and France allows for big crackdowns on peasant liberty. Mohammed el Mohammed bin Mohammed blows up a nightclub; you need to turn it your guns and be x-rayed at the supermarket.

It’s brilliant really. And pure evil too. Try to remember that if you participate in the Great Quadrennial Black Mass come this November. It doesn’t matter as there will be no choices for truth and peace.

Instead of continuing to support those who would have us as slaves we should prepare to slay the monster ourselves and then turn our attention to the various Dr. Frankensteins. There is such a thing as revenge.

Idiotic Foreign Policy (If Any)

In Washington, whatever the policies may be, common sense and intelligence certainly are foreign. Foreign as in alien, absent, and completely unknown. The crowd clustered around The Hill is so stupid that they could only be modern Americans. True, the owners – the banks and corporations and special interests, sometimes behind the scenes – they have smarts. But they are marred by an evil as deep as D.C.’s vapidity.

The only real policy in the District is stealing and wasting money through a never-ending game of domination (of everything and everyone). The foreign part? Let’s just call in “international affairs” to differentiate it from the domestic thievery and oppression. Internationally, let’s start with “policy” towards Iran.

Washington has had it out for Iran since the 1950s. The reason originally given to the American people for this animosity has long since been forgotten. The real reason I already covered, the power and the money thing. Still, today, Iran is bad. Iran is our enemy. We would go to war with Iran except we’ve lately discovered we’re not all that good at the sport anymore (see Iraq, etc.). Iran is bad.

There’s ISIS. ISIS is bad (sometimes). It would seem to the sensible that a terrorist organization that destroys nightclubs, beheads priests, and runs people down with delivery trucks would be bad full-time. The problem is that Washington created ISIS, intentionally as a CIA toy or accidentally in a drunken stupor. They made them, trained, them, armed them, funded them and then kicked them in the head to get the jihadis really angry. They’ve alternated between these things off and on for a good, long time now. Meanwhile, Washington and its inbreed allies in Europe have willfully imported the terrorists into the West. Insane! The cycle of lunacy goes on apace but, officially, the liars of Columbia will say ISIS is our enemy. ISIS is bad.

Then there’s Russia. Russia is descended from another big, criminally talented, power and money nation, the U.S.S.R. I recall as a child hearing we had a of problems with them and had had such for a while. Then, suddenly – “POOF!” – they were gone. All was quiet for a while and then along came the modern, civilized nation of Russia. Political BS aside, if nations were individual people, America and Russia would look like twins. The sensible (where’d he go??) might think our two countries would be cooperating at everything, being the best of friends. No.

Washington has again decreed that Russia is an evil empire. Russia hates us. Russia is our enemy. Some of the very lowest and dumbest dregs around D.C. actually want a war with Russia. We could not win that one. Neither could Russia. Not an all-out war. We’d all be dead. The Americans and Soviets of old knew this. Thus the grudging but relatively peaceful cold war. Putin and company still appear to have some sense. Washington has lost it all. Russia is bad.

So: Iran bad; ISIS bad; Russia bad. Today, wouldn’t you know it, news comes that Russia is bombing the living hell out of ISIS in Syria. They’re flying heavy bombers out of … wait for it … Iran.

57b2b390c46188b1208b45d4

One might call this irony but, really, words cannot describe it. The closet we can get is, “Washington is our enemy” or “Washington is bad”.

Satanic Invocations Over America: Sign of the Times

MRCTV had an interesting, if disturbing, article last week about a city council meeting in Alaska. Like most such affairs in America it was kicked off with a religious invocation. The invocation was unusual in that it was given by some Alaskan satanists.

Let us stand now, unbowed and unfettered by arcane doctrines, born of fearful minds in darkened times. Let us embrace the Luciferian impulse to eat of the tree of knowledge and dissipate our blissful and comforting delusions of old. Let us demand that individuals be judged for their concrete actions, not their fealty to arbitrary social norms and illusory categorizations.

Let us reason our solutions with agnosticism in all things, holding fast only to that which is demonstrably true. Let us stand firm against any and all arbitrary authority that threatens the personal sovereignty of all or one.

That which will not bend must break and that which can be destroyed by truth should never be spared its demise. It is done. Hail Satan.

“It is done. Hail Satan.” This is not your grandfather’s country anymore. Such words of “blessing” at a public gathering are unusual but are part of a growing trend. I recently watched a video of a similar spectacle in Pensacola, Florida.

satanism

What. The. Hell? MRCTV.org.

America is, or was, a Christian nation. Naturally, Christian priests and pastors were called on to lead prayers before official meetings. Now, however, in post-American times, cities are caving to the forces of darkness out of fear of lawsuits. The courts and the lawyer class have twisted the First Amendment into a weapon against public morality. I fail to see how having Christian prayers somehow constitutes either the establishment of one religion or the banning of others. To me, it merely reflects respect for the majority sentiment and homage to the wisdom which founded the country. No longer.

In years past the debate sometimes centered on a Catholic invocation versus Protestant. This was not a matter of apples and oranges, but of different types of apples. Christian versus satanic messages isn’t apples and oranges either; it is apples and horseshit. The Alaskan and Floridian satanic messages were less about the devil and more about smart aleck atheism – sly jabs at the Christian faith and believers (which, of course, is the Devil’s work).

The lawyers’ work is done. The courts have ruled. The politicians have caved. Still, it isn’t entirely the government’s fault. Some blame lies with the Christian churches in America, Catholic and Protestant. Pat Buchanan dedicated two, back-to-back chapters in one of his books to this phenomenon. The Catholic Church (Latin [Roman] especially) has done a pitiful job of promoting and defending itself, instead dedicating it’s time to cover-ups and institutionalism for institutionalism’s sake.

The Protestant churches, born of arbitrary changes, have kept on arbitrarily changing to fit the times. Whereas Catholicism has been perceived as not changing enough or not changing at all, the descendants of Calvin and Wesley have changed too much. Some of these have completely ceased to even resemble churches.

I spend a lot of my time on road trips. Often, with nothing to do but drive, I tune in to local Christian stations. I particularly pay attention to broadcasts from older, senior pastors. Most of these are Protestant, frequently Baptist. I’m Catholic but I do love the apples to apples bluntness in the messages. Recently I listened to an independent Baptist preacher in Jacksonville. He decried the rise of “cotton candy” theology and he nailed it as a problem. I paraphrase: The typical “Christian” worship experience at the new, nondenominational mega-“churches” consists of 45 minutes of rock music followed by a 10-15 minute, feel-good sermonette about nothing. He said of this false gospel nonsense: “It tastes good but it isn’t very filling.” He’s right. The majority of our churches have dropped the ball.

The people themselves have done worse. To them goes the lion’s share of responsibility. In a way it is fitting that agents of Lucifer preside over American government gatherings. Most government at any given time and all of them, given enough time, will cross over from being mildly intrusive to completely evil. As that process unfolds today, legions of Americans gleefully anticipate and revere the doings of the state. Many (a huge number, maybe approaching a marjoity) now, in some form or fashion, literally worship the state itself. Government power is now a religion, possibly the largest in the United States. God has nothing to do with it. People may deny this though theirs constant genuflection to the civic altar rather gives them away.

“It is done.” Perhaps it is so. But there is a chance it may still be undone. Praise Jesus!

If You Like Your High Prices, You Can Keep Your High Prices: Ailing ObamaCare

Either Donald or Hillary will face many challenges come January. (One wonders why any sane person would want such a job.) Among them is the rapid deterioration of ObamaCare. The program is in very real danger of failing at least one of its primary goals, insurance company profits.

The Obama administration has struggled for several years to bring young, healthy people into the marketplaces, which is needed to offset the medical costs of older and sicker customers.

These problems are coming to light this year, as insurers get their first full look at ObamaCare customer data. Some, like UnitedHealth Group, say they’ve seen enough and are already vowing to leave the exchanges.

Levitt and other experts warn that if the numbers don’t improve this year, more insurers could bolt. That would deal a major blow to marketplace competition while also driving up rates and keeping even more people out of the exchanges.

The answer is going to be higher (much higher) health insurance premiums for all who currently pay. Rates in some states are set to rise another 40-60% immediately and on top of other recent increases. How’s that for “affordable”? A few of the con-men say this will be a mere one-time offset. Aside from previous increases and those sure to follow, it will be.

ObamaCare was legally justified by the Nine of Minas Morgul as just another tax. I wrote about that in my first substantive column here, over four years ago. Taxes don’t just steal money of their own accord. They also bring higher regulatory costs, inflation, and higher prices to boot. Thus, their destructive nature. Insurance companies were designed for one thing – to make money for themselves. They will keep doing so at your expense. If you like your money, you will lose your money.

Sayeth the Drudge headlines this morning:

Julian Assange strongly suggested that Seth Rich, the DNC staffer mysteriously murdered on his way to see the FBI, was a Wikileaks operative. Thus, Wikileaks, and not Russia or anyone else, was behind the covert investigation into the Clinton crime syndicate.

Where did you read that first? A full week ago I said, “By the way: it wasn’t the Russians.”

I am sometimes (not always) ahead of the game. I know many dark things and others aren’t so hard to guess.

In this matter, Wikileaks did what the FBI refused to do. If Rich had made it to his meeting, if is likely nothing would have come out of it. Still, Americans who value freedom owe Assange and Co. a little gratitude.

I am surprised by one thing: Rich’s murder was ruled a murder. Given who is involved one would have thought it a “suicide”.
