Petitions: Demanding The Absurd

There’s a saying: “If you’re taking flak, you know you’re over the target”. So Ivan Throne found he was successfully getting to the SJWs. He “boasted” of his inclusion on a list of Twitter accounts some band of losers wants someone to ban. That’s their M.O.: find something you don’t like and demand it (or he) be banned. Ignoring is not an option. Neither is minding one’s own business.

I congratulated Ivan on his successes. Then I looked around change.com at some other stupid petitions. Some must be worthy of something. Others look like this:

Petitioning President Obama to meddle in the Trump administration.

On January 20, the military officer carrying the codes for America’s nuclear arsenal will follow President Barack Obama to the inaugural platform. When he leaves, the officer will follow President Donald Trump.

We will then have a president who reportedly said, “If we have nuclear weapons, why can’t we use them.” Will he really order a nuclear attack in the next four years? No one knows. But if he does, no one can stop him.

President Trump will be able to launch, within minutes, one or one thousand nuclear warheads without any vote, any check, or even any serious deliberation. Just one missile could kill millions. Once launched, the missiles could not be recalled.

But President Obama has one last chance to reduce this danger. With the stroke of a pen, he can take US nuclear missiles off hair-trigger alert, so that any attempt to use these weapons would take hours or days.

Taking nuclear weapons off high alert would not impede our country’s ability to defend itself. We could still respond to an attack. But it would buy time for the president to consult with Congress and other leaders and for cooler heads to prevail. We should not rush into a decision to start nuclear war.

As Obama said in 2008: “Keeping nuclear weapons ready to launch on a moment’s notice is a dangerous relic of the Cold War. Such policies increase the risk of catastrophic accidents or miscalculation. I believe that we must address this dangerous situation.”

Now, President Trump could launch 140 warheads in the time it takes to write 140 characters. The grave difference is: a tweet can be deleted, but the devastation of a nuclear warhead can never be undone.

Sign this petition to call on President Obama to use his authority to take nuclear missiles off hair-trigger alert status.

Then, share this petition with your friends, family, and co-workers. Together, we can make sure these weapons are never used again. http://www.ploughshares.org

As usual, the SJWs are lying. At the inauguration platform, Trump will already technically be President, the “football” following him. More importantly, those missiles can be disarmed or destroyed in flight. Most important, they’re appealing to the wrong man.

340x_497px-trident_ii_missile_image

Gizmodo.

Obama has spent the past eight years continuing and expanding the Bush wars. And he’s go right along with the neocon globalist drive for war with Russia. It’s Trump who has offered the olive branch to Putin.

The petition has 75,000 of the sought 100,000 signatures. I hope these folks are well meaning. And I hope they’re not disappointed when it fails. Then again I hope they’re happy when it proves to have been in vain. That, I hope, is the ultimate case. No-one wants a war, especially a nuclear one.

Then again, no-one should want a departing administration meddling with the incoming one.

Stupid is as Treason Does: Republicans Plan Massive Debt Increase

Thank God for conservatives. Or not.

WASHINGTON
Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio have been adamant – the federal debt is way too high and has got to be tamed fast.

Cruz, a Republican from Texas, helped lead the 2013 fight against raising the debt limit, a fight that resulted in a partial government shutdown. Rubio, a Republican from Florida, in announcing his plans for this year, said Tuesday that “one major thing that will cost us jobs and hamstring our economy is our rising debt.”

So why did they and 49 other Senate Republicans vote this week to consider a measure that says the “appropriate levels of the public debt” would rise from the current $20 trillion to $29.1 trillion in 10 years? And predict deficits of $1 trillion by the end of that period?

Because, they said, it’s the first procedural step in repealing Obamacare. And they insisted the number is meaningless.

The Concurrent Resolution of doom.

debt-monster

I agree the number is meaningless. It’s far too rosy. In 10 years the debt will likely be $45 – 50 Trillion (on books, that is). Still, these Republicans are meaningless and useless too.

One hopes Mr. Trump knows that “veto” is the “you’re fired” of legislation.

Rigging Election Rigging

Evidence mounts that the “Russian” hacking of the DNC before November’s election was an inside (non-Russian) job.

These things are nearly always inside jobs. This has “disgruntled employee” written all over it. Every whistleblower deal does. Of course, the Democrats would want to bury this one deep because it would also imply that one of their own “did the right thing” and came forward. Which would, obviously, discredit the entire campaign and candidate, to say nothing of the party itself. WikiLeaks isn’t going to say one way or the other because of confidentiality and protecting their source if they even know. Every journalist worthy of the name protects his source. But they’re not going to sit by and watch Russia get blamed wrongly, either.

It also serves the purpose of trying to hamstring Trump as he comes into office. The Democrats have shown they’re willing to start the Second Cold War in order to do this. But the primary motive is self-preservation because if the American people found out this was an inside job, they’re going to see corruption in the Democratic Party pretty much confirmed by them. Not to mention the corruption of the cover-up and then blaming a nuclear-armed nation to do so. People are then going to wonder what else they’re not being told.

Now I can’t prove this was an inside job. But I say history shows that, in both the public and private sector, whistleblowing comes from the inside nearly ten times out of ten. This wasn’t “hacking”, this was whistleblowing. Because “hacking” would have involved disabling their computers and destroying valuable documents. Not revealing things that they DID SAY which would mortally damage their campaign if made public. Let’s compare apples to apples here, not apples to grapefruit. When the United States hacked into Iran’s computers, they inserted a “worm” which wreaked havoc on their systems and destroyed large parts of it. Ok, so why was this not the case with the Democrats’ computers? No, what happened is embarrassing FACTS were revealed. That’s not “hacking”, that’s whistleblowing.

Never mind the absence of evidence of Russian involvement (no idea what the Senate is listening to as I type this). The whistleblower angle is sufficient. And the fact that the cover-uppers are more than willing to risk a war we can’t win speaks perfectly of their character (or lack thereof).

Three things should happen here:

  1. Putin’s feelings are not hurt; heck, he’s laughing about this. Still, Trump should issue an apology as part of the relationship rebuild.
  2. The whistleblower(s), once identified, should be thanked (unless they were part of the cover-up [which would make this a false flag, BTW]).
  3. The cover-up crew should be exiled to Siberia.

The agency which either allowed hacking of the U.S. State of Georgia or did the hacking (DHS) and the agency that stood by while the ATF sold or gifted 30,000 military weapons to Mexican drug cartels (FBI/DOJ [SIC]) have released a joint report on Russian hacking into the 2016 U.S. election.

Repeal and Replace but Keep the Taxes (of Course)

My first substantive post here regarded Obamacare. It is as much a taxation scheme as it is a corporate welfare measure and a vote-buying apparatus.

The same worthless GOPers who didn’t stop the Act from becoming law have, for years now, blathered on about repealing and replacing it. They haven’t of course though they have had a considerable amount of time and ample evidence for the cause. One Donald J. Trump was recently elected president in small part based on his promise to amend or abolish the system. “You’re going to have the best healthcare,” he said.

114272_6001

Rick McKee.

A flat-out repeal isn’t going to happen. The free market is simply no longer an option in America. As Fred Reed recently pointed out, the dreaded socialist single-payer system is now probably cheaper and more efficient than what passes for healthcare in the U.S. That won’t happen either.

What likely will happen is more of the same communist/corporatist BS we have endured for the past 50 years. The programs may change a little but the effect will be just as it is now: lousy and expensive third-rate care. The insurance and medical cabals will continue to profit. The government will continue to justify its pointless existence. You’ll continue to pay.

And, of course, now that it comes to it, the same useless GOP is contemplating keeping the associated taxes even as they monkey with the law.

Congressional Republicans are considering holding off on repealing some of ObamaCare’s taxes, according to lobbyists familiar with the discussions.

GOP lawmakers on the House Ways and Means Committee discussed the possibility of keeping some of the taxes in place during a retreat last week at the Library of Congress, the sources say.

Even if some of the taxes are not removed as part of the initial repeal bill, it does not necessarily mean they will remain indefinitely. Some ObamaCare taxes could be dealt with as part of a larger tax reform bill later in the year.

Still, there is at least a possibility that some taxes could remain in place to provide revenue for a replacement healthcare measure.

Discussions are still in flux…

A while back, defending his embattled signature work, Obama said, “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.” He was lying and he knew it. Now it’s Trump’s turn and the GOP’s. Doctors aside, I like my money. Might I keep my money?

The President: Election Day 2016

Today 538 Americans decide who becomes America’s 45th President. Following your suggestions last month, he should be Donald Trump. We should know the results soon. And the election should be certified by the end of the month.

Hillary and the Democrat Party elite, along with the GOP elite, and the B-listers of Hollywood have tried to stage a coup. Emails, letters, videos, and death threats have been employed in an attempt to sway Electors to not vote for Trump, even if bound so by law. So far they’ve only reached the mind of Chris Suprun, compromised patron of Ashley Madison.

download

Suprun, Elector of conscious, dubious 9/11 “hero” and bankrupt philanderer. Politico.

To be successful, the elites need 37 Electors to jump ship. Then, the election would move to Congress, much as it was under the Articles. There, one of two things would happen before January 20th. Either the members would follow you and the presumed E.C. majority and elect Trump. Or, they would pick a GOP elite, like Jeb Bush, and commence America’s second Civil War. Kind of gives new meaning to “vote or die”, eh?

We’ll know the outcome shortly. Happy election day!

Obama’s Last Push For Gun Control

Let’s hope it’s the last. And it’s probably bound to fail anyway. Still, even as he departed for Hawaii, Obama started his push to ratify the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty through the Senate.

We weren’t going to cover this because, frankly, it seemed like just a desperate last salvo from a failed, departing President. But in the days since it was announced, there have been uncomfortable rumblings about some GOP Members of Congress caving in…

President Obama just formally delivered the UN Arms Trade Treaty to the United States Senate for ratification and he is demanding that Congress approve it.

As you know, the UN Arms Trade Treaty would implement global firearm import/export restrictions and force member states to create gun owner registries.

This has always been the goal of the modern gun control movement in America. Final gun control – disarmament – cannot happen without a detailed registry of who owns which firearms.

The gun control advocates are now just one Senate vote away from realizing this disarmament dream…

The White House is already trying to spin this. They are calling it “common sense” gun control. They are begging that a handful of Liberal Republicans break with their party and vote to create a nationwide gun registry.

In the Western World, there has never been a gun registry that wasn’t followed by confiscations.

Registration, confiscation, then you’re down to beating off attackers with your shoe. But they want to make even that a criminal act. Like in France.

These murder numbers are a tad low. News Pipeline.

Tomorrow is the real U.S. Presidential election, by the way.

American Schools: Not Dead Last, But Dying

Fred Reed suggested that Donald Trump appoint John Derbyshire as Secretary of Education. He won’t even though there are few candidates better suited for the job. Maybe he won’t because there are few better suited.

Back to ponderous wisdom. Bright kids learn to read by reading, by going to the library and coming back with ten books, by reading voraciously, indiscriminately, clandestinely reading under the covers at night with flashlights. You don’t teach them to read. You get out of their way. In fact, you don’t teach them much of anything. They do it.

Coming back to the plight of John’s kids and Spanish, I ask myself what I actually learned in high school. Almost nothing. I took required courses in economics, geography, Latin, Spanish, English, some kind of history (that I cannot remember what sort of history suggests that it did not add materially to my store of knowledge), government–and and came as blank as I had begun. While I wasn’t bright enough to attract tour buses, I was some above average–and yet, apart from math, learned no more than the dumbest kids. If Tommy (name redacted) hadn’t stolen the senior-civics exam, I would still be in high school.

I did profit from two years of algebra, one of plane geometry, and typing. Why? Because I was interested. I can still do long division of polynomials. What I really most learned in school (my high school transcript may not fascinate you. Patience. I am coming to a point) was physiology. For some reason it interested me and I inhaled textbooks, to lasting effect (eosinophils, neutrophils, basophils, large and small monocytes…see?)

From which we conclude: Kids will learn what interests them. They won’t learn anything else. This is why hackers of fifteen years break into secured networks but do not know whether Columbus discovered America or the other way around.

So what is the point of school?

As far as the schools go in modern society, the point is plain: to manufacture good, little, obedient worker drones. Schools are a good place to indoctrinate children into state worship. That’s child abuse. They also mandate forced, unpaid attendance at dull, prison-like indoctrination centers. That’s slavery. And they provide employment for pedophiles, social justice warriors, and other otherwise unemployable folks (and, yes, a few dedicated teachers, sometimes and in a very few places). That’s make-work stimulation. Finally, the schools serve as outlets for tax dollars better spent elsewhere by the productive and the property-owning. That’s communism.

So, we pay for and our children endure: abusive, make-work, communist slavery. In America. In the 21st century.

Derbyshire has previously called for abolishing public education. That’s an ideal approach. It probably won’t happen anytime soon. It will happen someday. But even that’s not enough to fix the real problems.

With a few customized exceptions, schools, period, do a poor job of educating anyone. (Home schooled and privately tutored children do the best – period). Regardless of what kind of primary school you went to, rattle off three things you learned after, say, third grade. If you recall anything, it’s likely something you taught yourself.

It’s not just you. It’s all humanity. The system needs a total conversion. What we have today just does not work. It produces 40th rate results.

The U.S. Department of Education just released its 2015 Performance of U.S. 15-Year-Olds vs. The Rest of the World study report. We did terrible in all categories. I say “we” because we all bear some responsibility. I am atoning by writing this call for change.

The Department of Education didn’t exist until the late 1970s. It educates no-one and never has. At best it is a system for tracking its own failures. At worst it’s a massive, national expose on the theme of abusive, communist slavery. The results of this stupidity:

U.S. kids tie for 40th place in math:

nimbus-image-1481912817972.png

25th place in science literacy:

nimbus-image-1481913051623

24th in basic literacy:

nimbus-image-1481913159895

Previous research has shown that the U.S. spends more on education than just about any other nation on Earth. We’re not getting our monies’ worth. It’s not a money problem. It’s a problem of both people and their thinking (or distinct lack thereof).

One will note that the countries that outshine us are uniformly either Asian or European or Euro-based countries (i.e. New Zealand). It’s not just the education system that’s failed. Since 1965, immigration policies haven’t helped either. I’ll be blunt: the introduction of 60 million lower IQ immigrants from the third world is dragging down our averages.

Look at the three U.S. States listed under “reading”. Massachusetts students, resembling the demographics of Norway more than Mexico, would tie for second place. North Carolina students would be in the top ten. Puerto Rico’s students place below Mexico. There’s probably a politically correct reason why they didn’t independently display results from Wyoming and Vermont.

If they broke it down by regions, counties, and cities the results would be more dramatic. I imagine there are whole broken schools systems that can barely compete (if we can call it that) with places like Somalia.

A proper system would have a place for all levels of interest and aptitude. Primitives with no interest in Western Civilization and no ability to get there would stay put in their own native lands. Lower level students could be fast tracked through to either vocational training or some form of employment. Average students would remain average. And gifted children would breeze through unhindered and learning what they like at their own pace.

This “Utopian” dream greatly resembles the way things have worked in advanced countries for millennia. This would cost a fraction of what we spend now. It would improve civic responsibility and interest. It would free our children to both be children and to become adults. And it would send numerous bureaucrats to the soup lines.

The choice is ours: unproductive torture or enlightenment. Do we really care about the children? Society? Civilization?

The “Thin Reed” Of Russian Hacking

There appears significant dissent to the CIA narrative on the Ruskie hack attack. Both the ODNI and the FBI have doubts about the CIA’s information.

The CIA conclusion was a “judgment based on the fact that Russian entities hacked both Democrats and Republicans and only the Democratic information was leaked,” one of the three officials said on Monday.

“(It was) a thin reed upon which to base an analytical judgment,” the official added.

Republican Senator John McCain said on Monday there was “no information” that Russian hacking of American political organizations was aimed at swaying the outcome of the election.

“It’s obvious that the Russians hacked into our campaigns,” McCain said. “But there is no information that they were intending to affect the outcome of our election and that’s why we need a congressional investigation,” he told Reuters.

Congress should investigate, especially if that keeps them from passing more laws. Better to sway the thin reeds of intelligence communication impasse than the thick trunks of legislation.

Maybe The Russians Are Not THEIR Friends

The good news is that they have moved on from blaming everything on “Hitler” and suggesting that anyone they disagree with in the slightest is THE new incarnation of Der Fuhrer. At last count, 8,974,307 Hilters had been identified, the original not included.

It got old. So they moved on to the Russians. The Ruskies are behind everything, behind every bush, lamp post, and mailbox. Better watch out!

The two top Republicans in Congress offered strong support for the intelligence community Monday, in sharp contrast to President-elect Donald Trump’s attack on the CIA after reports the agency found that the Russian government tried to help him win the presidency.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he had the “highest confidence” in the intelligence agencies, while House Speaker Paul Ryan praised them for “working diligently” to take on cyber threats from foreign governments. But both leaders also warned against using the issue for partisan gain or casting doubt on the outcome of the election.

McConnell singled out the Central Intelligence Agency for praise and said the Senate Intelligence and Armed Services panels will investigate findings by intelligence agencies that Russia hacked into e-mails and computers used in the presidential campaign.

“Any foreign breach of our cybersecurity measures is disturbing and I strongly condemn any such efforts,” McConnell told reporters. He added later, “The Russians are not our friends.”

The Washington Post reported on Friday that the CIA has told senators that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s government was actively seeking to help Trump win the election — a step beyond an earlier finding that the goal was to undermine the credibility of the U.S. political process.

“Any intervention by Russia is especially problematic because, under President Putin, Russia has been an aggressor that consistently undermines American interests,” Ryan said in a statement Monday. “As we work to protect our democracy from foreign influence, we should not cast doubt on the clear and decisive outcome of this election.”

President Barack Obama explained his reasons for ordering a full review of the evidence of Russian hacking in an appearance to be aired Monday night on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show With Trevor Noah.”

Russia has been the aggressor, got it. Russia invaded Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, and Sudan while supporting ISIS in Syria, playing puppet-master with Europe, Walling off Iran, and destabilizing half the rest of the planet. Got that. Russia also mandates Obamacare, collects your income taxes, allows the Fed to decimate the dollar, pollutes the Animas River, and decides the size of your toilet tank. Damn Ruskies… Thanks, Mitchy!

And Obama says his spoke on Comedy Central. At least he keeps the environment proper. Ryan and McConnell should have an SNL skit.

Look, governments spy on each other. I’m confident the Russians did at least pry into our election. We’ve been known to do that sort of thing too. And they may have had a vested interest. The other mainstream candidate is or was in league with the rest of the establishment to _____________ Russia (fill in the blank: anything from isolate to nuclear war).

yhllowitnlvx

Even if their not OUR friends, they are certainly not our enemies. The losers in D.C. always need an enemy in order to stay relevant. Russia might work out for them. That’s good for D.C. and terrible for us.

What has Russia ever done to you? I, personally, can’t think of a single thing Putin or his people have done to me. Last I recall hearing, Putin was praising the American people and expressing his desire for peace and friendship. I actually believe him. I’m not sure I entirely trust the man – a politician, you know – but I do trust him more than the local rodentia in Washington.

During a debate this fall Hillary claimed 17 U.S. intel agencies had information that Russia was attempting to influence the election. (Why do we need 17 intel agencies?!) Maybe they did. Where’s the proof? What does it prove? Who benefits?

Obviously Clinton might have gained, if not for the landslide defeat. She and Jill Stein have been busy trying to suggest voting fraud in their recount efforts. What little has been uncovered has almost universally been from (not against) Hillary’s camp.

Still, they try to find something. You can’t blame a gal for trying. Today from out the back, hidden room at the #PizzaGate place, even John Podesta piped up.

“Each day that month, our campaign decried the interference of Russia in our campaign and its evident goal of hurting our campaign to aid Donald Trump,” he said. “Despite our protestations, this matter did not receive the attention it deserved by the media in the campaign. We now know that the CIA has determined Russia’s interference in our elections was for the purpose of electing Donald Trump. This should distress every American.”

That sounds an awful lot like a conspiracy theory, there, Johnny. Better tone it down or Twitter might suspect fake news. Oh, wait. Yeah…

And is that the same CIA that reported Saddam with the yellow cake and Bin Laden’s 2001-2 kidney failure and death? The same that just almost, kinda, sorta missed 9/11? The people training the “rebels” in Aleppo? Huh? Again, why 17 of these agencies? Why even one?

So, that’s what we have now: fake news, wasted money, wasted lives, conspiracy theories, desperate idiots and warmongers, incompetence, and Comedy Central skits. If the Russians were doing anything, maybe they were trying inject a little sanity. Hardly the act of an enemy, that.
