"debate" 2020, America, Biden, politics, stand back, stand by, terminal decline, Trump

It was not “The worst presidential debate of all time.”

On Tuesday night the American people, or at least those unlucky millions who were not watching the Yankees-Indians game on ESPN instead, were subjected to an hour and a half of mindless shouting from two hapless sad-looking old men who looked as if they would rather be anywhere else but that auditorium in Ohio. President Trump also spoke.

It’s not a sign of a nation in decline. It’s a sign of a nation totally changed and obliterated. It wasn’t a debate. Those days are gone and will not return under the auspices of America or the United States. If you insist on a “civilized” discussion of ideas, then you’ll have to wait for a (really, really) long time. Or, you need to find another country. Maybe pray the Constitution and give me five Hail Republics?

The reality show last night changed nothing, certainly not my standing predictions. I rather enjoyed the few snippets I read after the fact. “Stand by!” And, one knows who won by the way the whole thing, not just the winner, is lambasted.

That game kinda got out of hand too, eh?

Civil War Studies

There was a Far Side cartoon some years ago that you might remember. It was titled The Dam Bursts, and it featured the residents of the migraine headache institute, armed to the teeth, angrily processing next door to the school for marching bands.

The United States is like that, except it’s not as funny. It also won’t involve just two opposing sides. Hello, there! No, this article is not about the American Civil War of the 1860s. Rather, it’s an early and incomplete analysis of the conflict we’re plunging into today.

The sides. The population by and large consisting of idiots binary thinkers, there’s a temptation to divide things up neatly as they were some sixteen decades ago: two sides: authoritarian mercantilists wickedly allied with usurers against genteel agrarians lazily allied with incompatibles. Or, “North” versus “South,” if you like. In the interests of easy comprehension, we could approximate dual factions, at least as a loose template.

Ultimately, this war, like all others, is a continuation of the eternal struggle between good and evil. That rages on from The Beginning unto The End with us not knowing where we fall along the grand timeline. (Beware of anyone who earnestly predicts such a placement). In a sense, we’re looking at Christians versus satanists. This is an accurate estimation only as to overarching beliefs and ideologies. Our Side, possessed of numerous divisions, still values the good, the true, and the beautiful, all in honor of Jesus Christ. The other side is the dominion of the world, of chaos, ruin, and death.

A more progressive view would be of Nationalists versus globalists. One will note thematic compatibility with the most basic, religious breakdown. Nationalists honor the human societal structure created by Almighty God, destined to exist even in Heaven. The globos seek the destruction, disruption, and despair wrought by a new Tower of Babel, calling evil good, and good evil, and seeking ruination and slavery under the false guise of unity, nicety, and a fabricated definition of almost everything. One should note who stands with or for what. Those who favor the nations also tend to favor the families, the individuals, and tradition. Those who lust for the world tend to attract every manner of abomination and degeneracy. These are not coincidences.

The too-frequent calls for (or against, or merely in observation of) a race war may be misplaced. Given the (non-COVID) events of this year, the view is somewhat understandable. Indeed, it does look like a war has already commenced, but with one side largely abstaining. I can’t say those with this framing are completely incorrect; they just overlook, in a simplistic fashion, a few factors. Again, I hate to tell you old-timers, but it isn’t 1861 anymore. It is no longer a black and white issue – entirely. And, to the extent it is, it is more of a messy component of conflict caused by the most unwise mixing of nationalities or ethnicities. We have also, you may have noticed, most unwisely added some additional parties to the formula and in rather sizable numbers. The formula: (a level of) diversity + proximity = war. There are other problems with the two sizes (sides) fits all approach: for instance, many Africans are Christians; many Europeans serve, directly or otherwise, the devil; some Muslims will ally with Christians; your enemy’s enemy isn’t necessarily your friend; nobody knows how some groups will act or react; etc.

What are the odds? I’d say in the neighborhood of 100%, give or take 0.00.

How’s it going to look in reality? That’s the beautiful thing – no one knows. Nor can we be certain of when it will start in full, how bad it’s going to get, or how long it will last.

It is my belief that it has already started, in a slow, low-pitch manner soon to heat up. When? Look for a spike this November for obvious reasons. Then, it might go ballistic, or it might quiet to a simmer. 2033 was a good enough estimate. However, once the process starts – and it will be a process, not an event – it will go on for years, or decades, or even longer.

How bad? VERY. VERY. BAD. If it started with Molotov cocktails, it may end with B-52 runs. Or, depending on how one looks at it, it may turn out very well. It had to happen, honestly. Rather, it did not, but this is the US, the home of people who really enjoy difficulty. For a reference, remember that, at the beginning of the 21st Century, the debt-based economy had virtually failed. An intelligent and peaceable people might have opted for a simple reset. That was not, and is not us, sadly. The crisis of 2008-9 was papered over, compounded radically, and visits upon us again with far more pressing force. The economic collapse will exacerbate the domestic conflagration, as will the violent, flailing end of the international empire, which also could have been eased out of with greater harmony. The hard way it is! This all makes perverse sense considering that, during these last twenty years, the average intelligence in the US has declined by about half a standard deviation.

The loss of IQ coincides with the loss of morality and all else. The reasons why, along with what comes later, and how the mechanics of the martial process may work out are important, but will all wait for another day. It’s going to be fun, kids! Honest.

In related news, Freedom Prepper is running an October civil war and unrest theme! It’s aimed at surviving the immediate fallout of near-term events and is less of an academic discussion. You should have already started studying the big picture; last week, I gave you The History of Florence to review. You did that, right? Good, because this Empire, like Rome’s, has run its course and is about to dissolve. The best-case scenario would be something like the quick, easy, and happy divorce between the Czechs and the Slovaks. This being ‘Murica, we’re more likely to get something like what happened in the Balkans – messy, violent, multi-partied, and thoroughly devastating. Or, it could be a more drawn-out affair, akin to that of Italy described by Machiavelli. It could be something else.

Look for multiple factions, all over the place. And look for multiple places, all over those factions. I briefly pondered a future North America and came up with twenty to thirty plausible states. In reality, it could be two, or ten, or two-hundred and ten. There’s no telling how far the reductions will run. But, it is time to think and plan. It’s time, on the macro level, to pick your side. It’s time, on the micro-scale, to find your local tribe.

The good news is there is still time, just not as much as there was. Use what you have judicially.

America, collapse, government, Holy Roman Empire, Roman Empire, United States

“America” is not the Holy Roman Empire of the 21st Century. America is gone and the US is dying. Take out “Holy” – as there’s little Holy about the US – and the US is the Western Roman Empire in late-stage collapse.

The Holy Roman Empire was finally dissolved when Napoleon, commanding the first modern national army, steamrolled the coalition opposing him at the Battle of Austerlitz in 1805. About half the empire’s territory was folded into a brief “Confederation of the Rhine” French puppet state, and Francis II, the last emperor, abdicated the throne. In western Germany, Napoleon swept away all the feudal cruft and replaced it with his famous legal code, which heavily influenced the subsequent German legal foundation.

That certainly won’t be the fate of America, and of course this analogy is far from perfect in every respect. But the broader lesson is that political systems require maintenance and regular updating to stay on top of the developments of history. A great many holes in America’s national fabric have been left un-patched over the decades. An ever-more extreme conservative party is now exploiting those holes to try to permanently conquer the American republic. They might well succeed.

It’s a hard read to follow – far from perfect, yes – but almost worth it. You see, the Electoral College and gerrymandering did in the HRE. “America” is just the same, but of course, won’t suffer the same fate. A republic…

Only a Political Theory

America, dark age, Libertarian Party, libertarians, politics, terminal decline

And not really a competent one at that. So much I noted this weekend in my impromptu discourse on the failure of libertarianism. Today, someone else almost agrees with my differentiation between the political and the cultural:

Libertarianism is not and does not pretend to be a complete moral, or aesthetic theory; it is only a political theory, that is, the important subset of moral theory that deals with the proper role of violence in social life.

The people in the LP have some almost (non) religious hangup about nonviolence. Their long list of anti-principles is great as to and between civilized people living harmoniously. However, that’s not the history of the world and especially not the current state of the dying US. A political theory that takes no stand, stands no chance.

Libertarianism, along with modern titular liberalism and conservatism, is an offshoot of the Enlightenment, a grand attempt to outwit God or to fool the people into believing that such a feat is possible – even good. All of it is now openly laid bare as a failure. As Karl Denninger noted on Friday, the age of reason is over. It has been for a long time.

We live in an age of witchcraft, driven by technology.

The age of reason has failed and we stand on the edge of a new Dark Age.

Read the whole thing. It’s most apropos that he frames the narrative in terms of the Hoax of 2020, which I’ve been all over from the start. Does anything that’s happening this year strike you as remotely reasonable? “Reason” isn’t because it has been delinked from the truth. The talk of a dark age is disconcerting but accurate: I’ve been making mention of the same for years, here for example in 2017.

Call the age what you will, fun times are here – with more on the way.

The Decline and Fall of the Libertarian Party

America, Libertarian Party, libertarians, LP, politics

I decided to make time to expound upon yesterday’s post. And, WP reminded me that, back in 2016, I made what was possibly my last exploration of the national LP alternative – a long shot then which, beyond the pondering, I had nothing to do with. And, back then, a friend, whom I’ll label as a neocon(?) pointed out that the LP’s platform was at best a pleasant fantasy. He was right.

Again, it was Charles Burris’s article at LRC that got me thinking about all of this.

The possible future viability of the LP ended in 1988. It blew it for both objective and subjective reasons. Objectively because of many missed opportunities related to the end of the Cold War and dynamic changes in American political culture during the Bush-Clinton-Bush years were ignored; and subjectively due to internal LP organizational disputes, poor leadership and the widespread delusion of selecting former GOP “libertarian sounding” congressmen or governors as presidential candidates would be the mainstreaming expedient to fast track electoral success.

But first, the almost-accurate joke version of what did the LP in – marijuana. Regardless of their other stated positions, the one thing almost all (L)ibertarians were (and are) after is the high of THC. Glassy-eyed, they speak of taxes, non-aggression, foreign policy, etc, and then always return to legalizing weed. Excuse me! Decriminalizing it. Big difference. I don’t know if they’ve been sober this century, but, the non-enforcing feds and just a couple of holdout states aside, pot is practically legal from coast-to-coast. Mission accomplished, guys! Great job. What else do you have? That’s right, nothing.

This, and a few other things, is what killed the Free State Project in NH. That’s where a libertarian, trans-whatever, satanic priest(est??) just got him/her/itself on the ballot as a Republican’t for Sheriff in Keene. Congratulations, again, pot-heads: you opened the gate, and the crazies and half of Massachusetts moved in. Good job!

Seriously, now: Burris is almost right about the causes. In fact, he is right tactically and in part strategically. However, he missed the logistical point. Like most LP national candidates, Hon. Ron Paul had no chance with only 46 states allowing him on the ballots and a 0.5% total vote tally. Even if he had won and became our 41st President – and wouldn’t that have been better than what we got??? – it most likely would not have made a difference. That is because RP (as great as he is) and the entire libertarian “philosophy” was wrong for the country, then and now.

We’ve been under attack as a people and a nation for, take your pick: 50 years, 100 years, 150 years, or longer. By 1988, the damage was done and it was time for emergency restorative action. This had very little to do with practical politics, economics, or smoking dope, which is what you-know-who almost exclusively focuses on. Excepting the green leaf, I made the same mistake for years.

But, the real issues, critical in 1988, and terminal now, are and were purely cultural and spiritual. There was no political fix, though back then, the right fix would have helped, given the honest people a chance to recover. And “right” means a return to Western nationalism, not libertarianism. The LP never even offered a glimpse of a realistic alternative.

What could have worked? Christianity, first and foremost. (I hear the calls that one cannot legislate morality. True, but one can legislate against immorality). The mass expulsion of non-Westerners would have gone a long way – including, and especially, those who gave us so much cultural degeneracy and usury. Terminating, by any means necessary, the debt-based economy. Retaking the besieged institutions and expelling the walking siege engines. If this sounds a little like a revolution, then it should be obvious that, even as they quote the rhetoric of the bold men of the 1776 original, the party with an oath against action was never the party for the job.

Neither, certainly, was the GOPDNC uni-party. Perhaps Carlin was correct when he said, “this is the best we can do…” The LP had no real answers. A pseudo-philosophy that only appeals to certain members of the dwindling Posterity was doomed from the start. If the demographics had adhered to those of the holiest and most-revered Constitution, the Declaration, and the laws, circa 1790, then said philosophy could have formed a potential basis for guidance (in my mind, so long as it was subordinated to a pursuit of Natural law in the exclusively Christian sense). But that, none of it, happened.

I imagine that I have at least a few ever-optimistic, possibly high, libertarian-leaning friends who would still say that the argument could be made that libertarianism is still the future savior of what’s left of the US. I’m not trying to be mean, but go to any preschool or a psych ward and one will hear all kinds of arguments being made.

If you’re a libertarian, with an “L” large or small, then know that, as with most people, what’s happened isn’t your fault – at least the majority of it. Should you want to do your part to salvage something out of the collapsing ruins, then: 1) cease and desist with the MJ!, and: 2) bend a knee to Christ and then rise, hard right.

The Third Party That Wasn’t

America, Libertarian Party, politics

Charles Burris wrote an interesting piece at LRC, Why The Libertarian Party Failed. He’s certainly (mostly) correct about what he covers. I see more, and I may go further with this tomorrow or next week. This paragraph says much:

The possible future viability of the LP ended in 1988. It blew it for both objective and subjective reasons. Objectively because of many missed opportunities related to the end of the Cold War and dynamic changes in American political culture during the Bush-Clinton-Bush years were ignored; and subjectively due to internal LP organizational disputes, poor leadership and the widespread delusion of selecting former GOP “libertarian sounding” congressmen or governors as presidential candidates would be the mainstreaming expedient to fast track electoral success.

Can you guess why a 1988 LP victory would not have mattered or helped? Hint: contrary to all the decent, noble-sounding Enlightenment rhetorical talking points of the LP and libertarianism in general, the greater problem was not and is not the economy nor practical politics. Again, I might explore this further. Have fun reading regardless.

America, college, education, sad...

That’s the American university. That quote, from Ron Unz, appeared in this Larry Romanoff article from last November that I must have overlooked.

The quality of American education, as we will see, is far lower than the world has been led to believe, and the quality in China is in many cases much superior to that in the US. Americans might care to ask why it is that Chinese elementary or high school students moving to the US are often promoted by one or two grades. The reason is that they know so much more than their American counterparts they would suffer terminal boredom if forced to remain at their prior grade level. If we refer to the PISA tests, Shanghai’s math scores were 119 above the OECD average, or the equivalent of nearly three years of schooling, with reading and science exceeding the OECD average by about 1.5 years of schooling. And in some cases, the American students were behind the OECD average by approximately the same number of years as the Chinese were ahead.

In the reading, I had a few minor quibbles about something. I gave those up, finding in general, exactly what I’ve been seeing and commenting on for years. It’s a great primer on higher “education” in the exceptional land of the free. I found it in this Romanoff article, today, about all things “exceptional” in the USofA.

I’m sure all this will impove after the election!

America, Europe, locusts, migration

Well, this story is in keeping with the earlier post about my new book. And, like the sad Mass schools article from the other day, it has many, if not all, of the interesting components.

As the pandemic has ravaged the United States, some Americans are finding that a second citizenship or permanent residency has a renewed appeal. “Even the most basic things have become politicized,” said Anjelica Triola, 34, a director of marketing at Wethos, a company that helps freelancers grow their businesses, who also has Italian heritage.

She brought up protective masks as an example. “My father’s parents came here to be free, and there is an entire generation that are trying to go back now to pursue similar freedoms,” she said.

Paperwork Americans;

First and second generations migrants that never assimilated;

Dual (paper) loyalties;

Single mothers;

Admission that the “Land of the Free” no longer is;

Boomers(!); and more!

We ran here for the good times and helped wreck this nation. Now that the fun is over and the fires are burning, it’s time to go (back to the real) home! And, these paperwork jobs are or were marginal Americans, not quite Anglo, but close enough, right? They’re far from the worst dual-nationals too. Here’s hoping that they find peace and nationalism in their true nations. Americans used to enjoy something like that, you know, here in America. Crazy, yes.

Get Out! kids, if you’re thinking about moving, remember the criticalities of compatibility. If you go, go to stay and stay to integrate. You’ll never be [fill in the blank nationality] unless it’s already literally in your blood. But your grandkids might. I keep writing “kids, kids, kids” for a reason! No Boomers, please. Gen X, we’re on the line and I’m leaning towards a “no.”

America, decline, proposition

Amerika in tatters?! These be some harsh words!

In a dark season of pestilence, COVID has reduced to tatters the illusion of American exceptionalism. At the height of the crisis, with more than 2,000 dying each day, Americans found themselves members of a failed state, ruled by a dysfunctional and incompetent government largely responsible for death rates that added a tragic coda to America’s claim to supremacy in the world.

The author goes on and into details about other failed states and empires. He might be correct about all of that, but, as we have been so reliably informed so many times, Amerika really is different. Just check the Founding poem on our big girl statue! (Hey, I wonder how many communists Lady L will crush when they finally pull her down??????)

Amerika is, and always has been, just an idea, a simple, incoherent, misleading creed. If there’s any minor problem with it at present, then all we have to do is get out an eraser and change a few words or something. Nations, after all, are just words and vague ideas, and not borders, blood, and people.

Pandemics are like economic issues: all they require are more immigrants, who were really always the best Amerikans anyway.
