This is a pet subject of mine. I’ve written about it before several times. In my older article, Proper Cigar Etiquette I offered a brief glimpse of what helps make a great cigar shop great. Several chapters of the Happy Little Cigar Book are so dedicated and I even offer a short list of recommended shops.
America is a large place and, thankfully, filled with many, many decent to excellent tobacco houses and bars. The only way to really cover them all would be with a Fordor’s-style travel guide. That would take a while to put together though I am open to the idea. If I solicit you as part of a crowd-funding effort, please contribute. Hmmm… I might have to do a volume about shops in Europe too…

I’ve said this before. It’s what intelligence industry professionals have told me. Julian Assange repeated the truth to Sean Hannity.
HANNITY: Can you say to the American people, unequivocally, that you did not get this information about the DNC, John Podesta’s emails, can you tell the American people 1,000 percent that you did not get it from Russia or anybody associated with Russia?
JULIAN ASSANGE: Yes. We can say, we have said, repeatedly that over the last two months that our source is not the Russian government and it is not a state party.
There are still some in DC desperate to cast Russia in a bad light or worse. It’s entirely possible that they did the hacking as a false flag. Beware.

This story I originally offered to help beat election mania. It proved popular and I need a re-posting… So now it is for the holiday mania… Either way, a great and true story (I think).
The following I offer as a needed break from tonight’s election mania. You can thank me later.
The year was 1983. I think. We’re going to say it was 1983 and January. Could have been December but January of ’83 sounds about right.
Anyway it was cold. Very cold especially for east-central Mississippi. For the sake of my happy memories let’s also assume this frozen spell closely followed the white Christmas of that age. If you know otherwise, keep it to yourself, Zippy.
Snow began to fall. Actually it was ice. Maybe with freezing rain. Whatever it was that came from the sky the ground was soon completely iced over. Ice on the trees. Ice on the bushes. Ice was everywhere.

A golden oldie for a lazy Christmas Eve. This is fitting however, because even today, December 24th, I sat out on the deck with Russell and some of the old gang. Gotta love the GA winter.
Summer is in full swing and it’s time for a cigar! Okay, this summer it seems it’s either crazy hot or raining buckets. What is the discerning outdoor cigar smoker to do? Sit in the garage? The wife will still nag about smoke magically seeping through the walls. Light up in the car? That’s not very comfortable. Puff away under an umbrella? You get the idea. On a hot and humid day or a really wet day it’s extremely difficult to enjoy a fine cigar in the great outdoors. Or it was…

Today 538 Americans decide who becomes America’s 45th President. Following your suggestions last month, he should be Donald Trump. We should know the results soon. And the election should be certified by the end of the month.
Hillary and the Democrat Party elite, along with the GOP elite, and the B-listers of Hollywood have tried to stage a coup. Emails, letters, videos, and death threats have been employed in an attempt to sway Electors to not vote for Trump, even if bound so by law. So far they’ve only reached the mind of Chris Suprun, compromised patron of Ashley Madison.
Suprun, Elector of conscious, dubious 9/11 “hero” and bankrupt philanderer. Politico.
To be successful, the elites need 37 Electors to jump ship. Then, the election would move to Congress, much as it was under the Articles. There, one of two things would happen before January 20th. Either the members would follow you and the presumed E.C. majority and elect Trump. Or, they would pick a GOP elite, like Jeb Bush, and commence America’s second Civil War. Kind of gives new meaning to “vote or die”, eh?
We’ll know the outcome shortly. Happy election day!

Let’s hope it’s the last. And it’s probably bound to fail anyway. Still, even as he departed for Hawaii, Obama started his push to ratify the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty through the Senate.
We weren’t going to cover this because, frankly, it seemed like just a desperate last salvo from a failed, departing President. But in the days since it was announced, there have been uncomfortable rumblings about some GOP Members of Congress caving in…
President Obama just formally delivered the UN Arms Trade Treaty to the United States Senate for ratification and he is demanding that Congress approve it.
As you know, the UN Arms Trade Treaty would implement global firearm import/export restrictions and force member states to create gun owner registries.
This has always been the goal of the modern gun control movement in America. Final gun control – disarmament – cannot happen without a detailed registry of who owns which firearms.
The gun control advocates are now just one Senate vote away from realizing this disarmament dream…
The White House is already trying to spin this. They are calling it “common sense” gun control. They are begging that a handful of Liberal Republicans break with their party and vote to create a nationwide gun registry.
In the Western World, there has never been a gun registry that wasn’t followed by confiscations.
Registration, confiscation, then you’re down to beating off attackers with your shoe. But they want to make even that a criminal act. Like in France.

Tomorrow is the real U.S. Presidential election, by the way.
