Breaking The Hammer: Fables Of The Paper Eagle

Greetings! Another week and more affairs, some pertaining to the wider world, in that uniquely American way. Those of you who spent the weekend fellating the current “heroes” probably won’t understand or like the following. Tough. However, I’m proud to say that you might be compensated when a “hero” visits you in person before too long – gun in one hand, syringe in the other!

There’s so much happening with homeschooling and the death of the public schools that I almost ran with that. (Dead schools, dead horse, I know). But, the CDC has effectively recommended disbanding the “schools.” For once, I agree with the CDC!

Also, I had to alter this column slightly when some brand new (decades-old) news broke over the weekend. I did so. Sometimes it’s hard to write a national affairs column about a nation that died around the time I was born – at least, with a straight face. While the original main body, below, concerns the ongoing collapse of the US Empire overseas, there is a domestic story to tell first.

Back in 1969, the residents of Tribeca noticed a new construction site at 33 Thomas Street, a phenomenon not unheard of in Manhattan. By 1974, the new building was finished and open for business; an ugly 33-story tower at home among many others. This one was different. People noticed, though for years they said nothing, that the building had no windows. Blank concrete walls rose to the sky, topped by a bunch of antennas. After initially accepting the cover story that the odd structure was only an AT&T transfer station – which it was and is, in part – the truth emerged: it was (and is) also an NSA listening post.

I know, I know, the blind homers of C-town don’t care ‘bout no Yankee city. And you don’t have to, a similar post in downtown Atlanta being much closer. While they still serve various purposes, these facilities have become somewhat obsolete – being replaced by those personal spy devices that you’re reading this on at the moment.

The NSA itself, born in 1952 out of other nefarious government programs, was long the subject of controversy – not about what it did, but rather, about the tin-foil nuts who suggested it was real. As recently as thirty years ago, the existence of the agency was deemed a crank conspiracy theory. (I’ve come to accept “conspiracy theory” as synonymous with “hard fact.”) As the years passed, other programs were mentioned: Carnivore, Echelon, DCS1000, Boundless Informant, Galileo, FISA, etc. I remember discussing some of these, back in the day, with MB – back when we thought something bad was going to happen to America. Ah, the naivety of youth.

Count The Dollars On The Wall

A friend is taking his wife to the best beach in America, one I know very well, and they wanted to know some groovy places to visit. Among my recommendations is a honky-tonk, which I describe as a tropical biker bar. It’s a can’t miss kind of place. Previously I’ve left several dollars there. Some of them – more than one – were taken from me, signed by the womenfolk, and stapled to the wall. It’s a popular way to dispose of money; you have surely heard or seen something like it.

Happy tourists, mainly women, leave the bills behind, thinking it’s their permanent contribution to house decor. Then, along comes The Hoax. Those dollars are now in high demand – and not as decorations.

“The lockdown hit us like a tornado,” recalled Newman, 57, who owns the business with her husband. “I felt hopeless and lost, wondering how on earth we could pay the bills and keep staff on the payroll.”

“But here’s the good part of my story,” she added, leaning forward and placing her hands flat on the bar. “I remembered the thousands of one-dollar bills that customers have stapled to the walls over the decades.”

“I asked a few employees and girlfriends to help take them down,” she said with a smile. “It took two full days to finish the job.”

“Split five ways, we each got about $500,” she said. “That includes a woman who had lost two jobs because of the pandemic; a woman with a mother in hospice care, and a mother of three small children going through a divorce. There was also a single dad who needed the cash.”

“Now,” she added, “our goal is to hang on to the place through summer.”

Ladies, you helped fight the “pandemic.” All: How’s that V-shaped thing coming along?

PS: No, the article’s bar isn’t “my” honky-tonk.

PPS: Yes, the title is Statler-esque.

OT PS: Coulter is not wrong with her honest tirade this weekend except that she did it on Trump’s retarded media of choice, Twitbird.

2020, Memorial Day

Today, we Americans remember those men who sacrificed themselves against the… Do we remember? In general, and specifically in this insane year?

I’ve seen a couple of “Memorial Day is reeeeeeeeaally special because the hoax is killing veterans” headlines and stories. Those headlines (I skipped the stories) underscore some issues. Decorration Day being about the war dead, did the veterans die of the hoax while in combat? Regardless, did they die from it or with it? Dying in combat might suggest they…

Uh, just kidding. The rest of you, thank your “heroes,” worship your food and beer, and above all else, maintain your social distance and wear your masks.

Vivamus vel libero morietur.

The Hoax Habit

Having ventured among the fearful this afternoon, this issue is fresh in my mind. Two years ago I wrote yet another commentary on yet another liberty shed in our collective social distance zone between Mexico and Canada. I think people should be able to drive and talk on the phone if they want to, though increasingly I find both activities tedious. This assertion offended several conservatives who suggested that losing a little essential liberty really isn’t that bad.

Fast forward to the Clown World of 2020, and some of the same conservatives fear “making a habit” out of the hoax. The slippery slope isn’t a fallacy, it’s a law of physics. Amerikans love falling for any and every hoax that comes along, no matter how foolish or degrading the requirements. It’s not a habit to make, it’s already deeply ingrained in the mores of a collapsed society.

They couldn’t even conserve uncovered faces…

A Question For Attorneys Of Good Will,

if any…

I mentioned this a few days ago but have no time to look into it. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), 20 U.S.C. § 1232g, 34 CFR Part 99, protects student records from publication. Fourth-class government school districts coast-to-coast “debt shame” students, to include the mass publication of education-related “debts” – at taxpayer-funded government schools – to include student names and identifying information. Some of the debts include school meals, many of which may be otherwise covered by various federal programs run by the DOE and the USDA.

Question(s): Does such publication constitute a FERPA or other legal violation? If so, might some of you make class action hay out of it? Does the DOJ care about civil rights? Did they ever? Does anyone care?

I do but, again, lack the time. I’ll spell out my contribution: H-O-M-E-S-C-H-O-O-L.

Rough Schooling In South Korea

Seniors at South Korean high schools returned to the physical classrooms after a months-long hoax-cation. These students stand above their American counterparts in all academic areas. Look at the picture in the linked article. First, they look like students, like adults – the men wear ties like American men did seventy years ago. Notice the obvious proper body proportions, like we had seventy years ago. They seem to lack something in that room deemed ultra-critical by the charlatans who ruined America’s schools and culture, something we did without seventy years ago.

As for the hoax, they’re all wearing fear masks, some have wipes, one boy handles a plastic something-or-another, and all of them are behind plastic shields (like the foreign kids I TPC’d a few weeks ago). And yet some of them are still catching mild cases of the cold! If serious, hygienic, and intelligent Korean students can’t social-distance the hoax away, then what chance have slovenly, dull-witted, careless Amerikans?

[Note to Koreans: DO NOT become Amerikans in 70 years!]

A real school system in a functioning country implemented all the hysteria-based craziness and still can’t escape the hoax. Child abuse victims in the Empire’s “schools” have no chance. These institutions are a plague in and of themselves. Keep them closed forever.

Thanks, WordPress, for the blocks and all. Yes, I use the commercial side and know all about them. Another step towards the infantilization of everything and something else to undo or backdoor around. No typewriter ever bothered any author with a pop-up.

Olympia, Olivetti, Hermes, Underwood – so many choices.

The revelations about Obama’s “Hammer” are about as surprising as the Faux “News” report the other day about Saudi involvement in 9/11.

Call it what you will, but the US Empire’s illegal domestic spying operation is over 50 years old. Every few years we learn something new (and horrible) about it. More, perhaps next week at TPC, on this. The question is: What will people do about it?

Nobody in the government cares as this is their operation. There are no “sealed military indictments.” The people themselves are too busy being fat and stupid while stepping and fetching in their idiot masks. I hear the hills calling.

Better late than never, Trump calls churches “essential:”

“Some governors have deemed liquor stores and abortion clinics as essential” but not churches, he said. “It’s not right. So I’m correcting this injustice and calling houses of worship essential.”

“These are places that hold our society together and keep our people united,” he said.

A suggestion about the authority part: church-denier = enemy combatant?

Government School = The End of Government School???

education, government school =, homeschool, schools, society

Perhaps the best “Government School =” article yet!

The greatest benefit of the CoronaHoax is the full exposure of the hoax and failure of public education.

The shutdown of schools across America, both public and private, has thrown the lives of parents into an upside-down struggle. And now, in the name of safety, the Centers for Disease Control are nearly guaranteeing the destruction of public schools in the United States.

They don’t mean to, of course. After all, public schools are the government-run and government-approved schools. But right now, every single parent across America is homeschooling. We are all getting a look at the shortcomings of curriculum, bureaucracy, and the people involved. While some teachers have risen to the occasion and tried their absolute hardest to attend to the educational and mental well-being of their students, there are some teachers who are just mailing it in. And there are kids and families that are mailing it in as well. The situation, as it stands right now, is not a sustainable one.

States and school districts, now that most have been shut down for the remainder of this school year, are frantically trying to assess how the next school year will look in an age of “social distancing” and mask wearing. And then the CDC just released guidelines on school reopening.

The CDC Guidelines – sure to drive the last nail in. We should push the DOE to “codify” them through the CFR so as to be binding on the local schools.

To all the parents seeking private homeschool teachers or tutors – a massive growth industry – please dispense with the “certification” requirements. Learn the minimum your state requires (likely not much) and just do that. Adding the credentialism back in adds the risk of cross-contamination. This is the time to break from the whole pathetic system. See my Ed Page for more ideas.
