You’ve got mail!

The explosive device found in a mailbox at the home of George Soros, the billionaire philanthropist, on Monday afternoon was relatively small, a senior law enforcement official said on Tuesday.

The device was “proactively denotated” by bomb squad technicians from the Westchester County Police Department.

The bomber’s motive remained unclear. Mr. Soros is a favorite target of right-wing groups. He was not home at the time.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! LOL!

No, seriously – DO NOT ATTEMPT this sort of justice on your own. It’s the President’s job to blast the enemy combatants.

I don’t subscribe to Jane’s, but I understand there are at least a few functioning Thunderbolts left in service. One is all it would take to stop the newest foreign invasion column. The one that really IS a national emergency.

So, for the second time this year, it appears President Trump is ready to send more US troops to the border, as he said in a tweet Monday morning that he’d notified the border patrol and military that this is a “national emergency” while reiterating that the blame lay with Democrats for refusing to change our “pathetic” immigration laws.

The president also claimed that “unkown Middle Easterners” had become “mixed in” with the caravan.

And since Honduras and Guatemala did nothing to stop the migrants despite Trump’s requests for assistance, the president added that we would be cutting off aid: “We will now begin cutting off, or substantially reducing, the massive foreign aid routinely given to them.”

7,000 strong, well funded, growing and advancing daily. They’re not coming to as refugees; they can’t. Refugees must stop in the first “safe” country they come to. That’s MEX, not the USA. They’re not coming to assimilate. At best, they’re coming to loot. At worst, to conquer. That’s what invasion columns on the ground do. Luckily we have an aerial platform to deal with that threat.

And, no, there is no reason to actually shoot any of these invaders. Here’s how it could work:

  1. Tell MEX to stop them or there will be immediate (but very limited) US military intervention (we do this all the time – we’ve done it with MEX and they’ve done it with us);
  2. Hold off until the column is in the clear, with a long stretch of highway ahead;
  3. Have a single A-10 fly over them as low and slow as possible – let them see it;
  4. A-10 peels back around, very slowly, and then – miles ahead of the front of the column, sets up a gun run;
  5. Engage GAU-8 Avenger canon – cease firing well ahead of closest hostiles so as to leave them completely unharmed but very scared (the sight and the sound);
  6. Another low, slow fly-over, this time dropping leaflets, “You Have To Go Back.”

They would.

One might recall various leftist figures (Maxine!) calling their myrmidons to go forth and harass the heck out of the other side. Now it seems that both sides can play that. San Fran Gran Nan learned the lesson recently.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was hounded by a group of protesters in Florida — with some cursing and calling her a “communist.”

Video of the confrontation shows the small group of hecklers shouting obscenities and calling Pelosi (D-Calif.) a communist in English and Spanish as she walks into a Wednesday campaign event for congressional hopeful Donna Shalala in Coral Gables.

“You don’t belong here, you f–king communist f—,” one person howls. “You and your f–king Democrats.”

When Pelosi wordlessly walks by and enters the building, the protesters start pounding on the door.

While “socialism sucks” might be a worthy chant, this isn’t exactly fostering of that e pluribus unum.

Multa de chao!

This week’s column follows, in full. I wrote it fast and dry and, one quick edit aside, I didn’t even read it. An apology for the ho-hum-ness passed to TPC. But … MB ran it with praise today. I read it and … he might be right. A blending of one of my pet issues with a little nuanced fiction, comedy even. It captures a glimpse into my recent foray into cultural anthropology, a little hidden German truth, and even some nature photography. Enjoy:

[Perrin Lovett] – TION 101: Regulation, Taxation, and Inflation

Somewhere, a professor concludes a lecture on political economy and economic politics.
———-
‘So, class, to wrap things up, the government and its allies – the other enemies of the free people – always engage in three insidious activities. All three loot actual productive value from the highest and best uses of capital, shifting it into various schemes, all of them nefarious. All three eat away at the economy. All three amount to forcible theft. Slavery, we could even rightly call it.
‘The stolen money, the stolen value is used to buy votes via illegal programs. It beats down innovation and competition from start-ups. It enriches and empowers the few at the expense of the many. Evil. To. The. Core.
‘And, again, I call these the three “tions.” That’s spelled “t-i-o-n-s,” pronounced “shuns, s-h-u-n-s.” And, shun these mechanisms of cultural destruction we should.
‘Again, they are: regulation, taxation, and inflation.
‘Taxation is the most obvious of the evil trio. Pay them what you’re told or else men with guns will literally come and take it by force – up to and including deadly force – if necessary. And for all they tax, they still spend more.
‘Think about this: King George demanded the aggregate equivalent of a one to two percent income tax, and that only affecting certain industries and persons. What do we pay Washington these days? Ten, twenty, thirty percent? Was as high as ninety at one time.
‘Regulation affects everything. This category is a bill of goods, sold to the enstupidated masses under the guise of “protection.” We know the only people protected are the government agents whose jobs depend on enforcement – more men with guns – and the wealthy businesses who write the laws and regulations.
‘Remember that the next time you’re tempted to vote. You’ve been sold out. They simply do not care about you. After the election dust settles and the pleasant lies subside, it’s back to business as usual. Government of, by, and for the corporations.
‘For an age and a half, politicians – especially “conservatives” – have railed and ranted about cutting the size and scope of the theft. They haven’t. Anymore, they don’t even try to retard the rate of growth. Sellouts, all.
‘All except one, maybe. The oddest thing has happened. For once we have, in power, a man willing to at least try what he boasts. And, most incredible of all, he’s seemingly getting results. Donald John Trump said he would cut taxes and regulations. And then … he cut taxes and regulations.
‘The tax cuts – decried as radical – were, to me, most modest. Still, modest beats nothing. But the regs. Those he’s been feeding into the wood chipper.
‘And the economy has answered. BOOM! (For now…)
‘The Congress, well not so much. Those fools keep spending and there’s never enough. With all the cuts, the economy is predictably growing. That means higher tax revenues – with and from lower tax rates. But the idiots spend even more. More debt. More debt. And then, some more debt. And the debt is a problem. Someone once wrote something about that… That was a truth and a joke…. Ah, well. (*Sigh*)
‘The debt goes hand in hand, hand on hammer, with the third “tion,” inflation. But, maybe, just maybe, Trump is about to address that too.
‘Up until now, he’s tolerated both the machinations of the Fed and the spendthrift stupidity of the legislative branch. Here’s to hoping that that’s about to change.
‘The other day, in typical Trump-Twitter fashion, the President accurately described the Fed criminals as “loco.” That’s el-Spanish for “crazy.”
‘And it is crazy. Central banking, as we’ve already noted, is always, always, always an insane suicide pact. Cheap, easy money today, misery tomorrow and for years to come. Theft and slavery, writ large. Cut taxes to Constitutional levels – to zero – and pare down the regulators to levels acceptable in 1787 and, if you keep up the funny money and debt, you still come to utter ruin. Eventually.
‘So. Really wrapping it up here. Let’s hope Trump smashes the locos! Amirite?
As the good and learned professor looked upon the gathered young faces, an uncertain hand rose from the throng.
‘Yes, young Sir,’ cued the professor.
A small voice answered, ‘My. My. My shoe is untied.’
‘Teddy called Tommy a bad word!’ called out another tiny voice unsolicited.
‘Um,’ stammered the old academic, ‘Well. Let’s just. Okay! Class is dismissed! Your teacher will now help you out to the buses … and … so forth. Down with the “tions!”’
Slightly dismayed by the blank stares in Ms. Hiccup’s third-grade classroom, Professor Wahrheit collected his things and departed the Immanuel Kant Comprehensive Elementary School for the Arts and STEM Inclusion Learning.
A foursome of deer, ambling about on business of their own, encountered Wahrheit midway along his long walk home. ‘The man seems troubled,’ thought the lead doe. But the “tions” simply were not her concern. With a sniff and a bound she was gone. Three smaller females followed. Warheit, still walking, didn’t even notice.
Who, really, notices what?

another caravan, immigration, invasion, military, Trump

President Trump, in a Tweet (always), says he will deter the latest migrant invasion with the National Guard (if he has to).

Donald Trump threatened on Thursday to seal America’s southern border with military force unless Mexico intervenes to stop the flow of illegal immigrants traveling to the U.S. from Central America.

The stern, tweeted warning came as a group of more than 4,000 travels north through Mexico in the hope of reaching the United States, despite having no visas or other legal papers to enter.

Trump blamed his Democratic rivals for the resulting chaos, saying ‘they want Open Borders and existing weak laws.’

He resurrected the claim that launched his White House campaign in 2015, saying that ‘this large flow of people’ includes ‘MANY CRIMINALS’ and putting the words in uppercase letters for effect.

‘I must, in the strongest of terms, ask Mexico to stop this onslaught – and if unable to do so I will call up the U.S. Military and CLOSE OUR SOUTHERN BORDER!’ Trump wrote.

Okay. Proceed, Mr. President. This particular caravan, 4,000 strong, is just the latest formed column. A similar number of criminal invaders enter the US every four days or so – one, two, ten at a time and here and there. Make no mistake, this is an actual invasion. Because it’s migration-based, history shows that it’s worse than literal war.

Why hasn’t the military been deployed much earlier? Like in January of 2017? And will the military also scour the country for the supporters of the invading forces, those assorted enemy combatants, traitors to the Republic?

Time will tell. Unless it runs out. One might say, “time is of the essence.”

The following either on behalf of or somehow allowed by our “ally” in the Middle East:

It took seven minutes for Jamal Khashoggi to die, a Turkish source who has listened in full to an audio recording of the Saudi journalist’s last moments told Middle East Eye.

Khashoggi was dragged from the consul-general’s office at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul and onto the table of his study next door, the Turkish source said.

Horrendous screams were then heard by a witness downstairs, the source said.

“The consul himself was taken out of the room. There was no attempt to interrogate him. They had come to kill him,” the source told MEE.

The screaming stopped when Khashoggi – who was last seen entering the Saudi consulate on 2 October – was injected with an as yet unknown substance.

Salah Muhammad al-Tubaigy, who has been identified as the head of forensic evidence in the Saudi general security department, was one of the 15-member squad who arrived in Ankara earlier that day on a private jet.

Tubaigy began to cut Khashoggi’s body up on a table in the study while he was still alive, the Turkish source said.

The killing took seven minutes, the source said.

As he started to dismember the body, Tubaigy put on earphones and listened to music. He advised other members of the squad to do the same.

“When I do this job, I listen to music. You should do [that] too,” Tubaigy was recorded as saying, the source told MEE.

Listen to music…

Either from bad reporting and/or my inattentiveness, I originally wondered if Khashoggi’s employment with WaPo was connected with US citizenship. That can of worms has been closed. Still, this episode points up Geo. Washington’s advice about entanglements. Sen. Graham may finally be paying attention. Who else?

If only there were some sort of … a wall in the way. We need a wall of separation between horde and our State!

Last week there were six unique encounters between President Trump and U.S. journalists where the topic of illegal aliens and family border separations was brought up. It seemed odd at the time because the issue has not been a topic within discussion. These exchanges culminated in CBS correspondent Leslie Stahl asking the same question repeatedly […]

Lessons from Twitter

fear, politics, Rhetoric, Trump, Twitter

WaPo’s Charles Lane bemoans the increasing fear factor in and around political/societal discussions.

The report by More in Common, a new nonprofit dedicated to understanding and healing political polarization in the United States and Europe, is based on a nationwide survey of nearly 8,000 people conducted this past December and January.

It found that between 51 and 66 percent of Americans agree there is “pressure to think a certain way about” each of the aforementioned topics, with immigration seen as the least sensitive and Islam the most.

As Congress abdicates its role, columnist E.J. Dionne Jr. says voters must take up the role of checking President Trump. (Adriana Usero/The Washington Post)

Meanwhile, 68 percent report that “it is acceptable for me to express what I think” about race, or Islam, only among “people who are like me.” On immigration, 73 percent feel that way; on gay, lesbian and gender issues, the figure is 70 percent.

This is understandable considering the SJW swarms and the increasingly violent behavior of the radical left. The op-ed is okay: some general pandering to the history of speech policing, etc. And, they just can’t help but add a dose of irony – there’s a link to something about checking Trump’s autocratic, blah, blah, blah. It’s ironic because Trump is the one steady figure demonstrating how to just dispense with the fear and say it anyway.

He usually says it by Tweeting it. Like this one:

President Trump on Tuesday called adult-film star Stormy Daniels “Horseface” and threatened to “go after” her after he won a court victory over his alleged mistress.

“’Federal Judge throws out Stormy Danials [sic] lawsuit versus Trump. Trump is entitled to full legal fees.’ @FoxNews Great, now I can go after Horseface and her 3rd rate lawyer in the Great State of Texas. She will confirm the letter she signed! She knows nothing about me, a total con!’ he tweeted.

BAM!

One will note that Trump keeps doing this kind of thing and it all keeps working for him. This will too.

The lesson is: 1) live in fear and self-censor and watch the causes for self-censor multiple, or; 2) Just say it, win, and laugh while the nuts cry.

This kind of goes back to the old 53% statistic. Or the Justice K show trial. Is it possible men can be something other than oppressors? Even the opposite of that?

Washington (AFP) – The notion that it is dangerous to be an American man in the #MeToo era took off during the angry debate over Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

But tossing more fuel onto the fire were a sarcastic tirade from Donald Trump and a painfully awkward tweet from a seemingly over-anxious mother.

On the day Kavanaugh was sworn in as the junior justice to the high court, Pieter Hanson’s mother posted a message on the social media network comparing the plight of the jurist — who had vigorously denied allegations of sexual aggression — to the dating challenges facing her 32-year-old son.

Under the hashtag #HimToo, she said her son was refusing to go on “solo dates due to the current climate of false sexual accusations by radical feminists with an axe to grind.”

1) Unless it comes from Donald Trump, I find anything on Twitter idiotic and/or suspicious. Doubly so for “mom’s” plea Tweet.

2) Sailer Jerry has already cucked hard. He may be okay, but he’s not Judge K.

However, I find the sentiment of the story plausible, probable. Another case of modern liberal, cannibal PC dining on itself. See also, the spectacle and mockery visited upon Kanye West, as told best, here, by Jim Goad.

If they’re not GITMO’d fast, Killary and Pocahontas may announce (failing) bids for 2020. Any word from Giant Meteor??

Is there another (non-seedy) side to the Goldman?

Fresh dirt has spilled at Goldman Sachs — and this time it has been caught on tape.

David Solomon, who took the helm of the Wall Street giant from Lloyd Blankfein last week, once blew off criticism of Goldman’s double-dealing in a big energy merger as a matter of “perception” — a cheeky dismissal that came despite a class-action lawsuit against the deal that eventually cost Goldman $20 million in fees.

That’s among the cringeworthy quotes that Carmen Segarra claims she secretly recorded behind closed doors for her new book “Noncompliant: A Lone Whistleblower Exposes the Giants of Wall Street.” The 340-page exposé expands on her previous claims that Goldman Sachs has long exploited an improperly cozy relationship with Wall Street regulators.

I’m sure “your” humble public servants are already looking into this.
