Diary of a Wimpy Nation; My Old Man Would Take Exception

A friend turned me on to a piece from National Review about the decline of male strength in America. This trend appears tp coincide with the rise of obesity and other negative indicia.

If you’re the average Millennial male, your dad is stronger than you are. In fact, you may not be stronger than the average Millennial female. You’re exactly the kind of person who in generations past had your milk money confiscated every day — who got swirlied in the middle-school bathroom. The very idea of manual labor is alien to you, and even if you were asked to help, say, build a back porch, the task would exhaust you to the point of uselessness. Welcome to the new, post-masculine reality.

Let that sink in. Our young men are no stronger than our women. If you’re a young hipster, pokemon addict, your dad is stronger than you. I’m a proud, jaded Gen-Xer and I kind of know what that’s like. My dad was always stronger than me (until shortly before he died). That however was freak genetics; if I was Batman strong, he was the Incredible Hulk. Hell, his nickname in the gym was “Earthquake”.

The Review is talking about “men” who have become so feminized as to shun all physicality. One thing led to another and I found myself reading a story from the New York Times: 27 Ways to be a Modern Man. It’s actually pretty good until the end.

My thoughts on a few of the wayward of the 27 ways:

13) I don’t listen to Wu-Tang. Then again, musical tastes vary greatly. That may just be personal.

17) Really? A melon baller? I guess this is New York based advice.

20) I had to look up this spoon business. At first I though they were talking about snuff. They were not.

23) I don’t know who Michael Mann is and I’m not checking.

25) This is a dead giveaway the author is a liberal sissy. A gun does not make a man but, like any tool, a man may find uses for one. This is also a odds with number 16.

26) Men may cry but they don’t do it often. I last cried when my daughter was born.

All  cry and no gun? These are modern “men” they’re describing. Probably obese and weak as any woman. I suspect the women are weaker too and they are definitely getting bigger. Grab any farm wife from 1880s Kansas and I bet she could beat up half the recruits at Paris Island today.

I could give advice like:

Get a gun or at least learn how one works;

Wear a belt and closed toe shoes;

Hit the gym, toughen up and lose some fat;

Carry a pocketknife;

Carry a handkerchief too;

Limit the video games;

Buy my books;

Smoke a cigar;

Offend an SJW intentionally and never apologize;

Read a book;

etc. – a 1000 etcs.

But, advice is a dangerous gift to give. Wait, I did just throw some out. Live dangerous, be a man.

13606941_1259754540701648_5954926869772226154_n

All this got me thinking about the old man. At one time he held all the Georgia masters powerlifting records. I tried to find them but could not (easily). I’ll just estimate from memory: Bench – 455 lbs; Squat – 635; Deadlift – 585. These were “equipped” and from a 300-pounder. Still he was about 55 when he set them. Usually lifted wearing a “When it absolutely, positively has to be destroyed overnight” USMC t-shirt. He was smart too.

It’s not all brawn. A man should use his brain muscles too. I’ll leave you with that.

Alternate Predictions: Hillary’s First 100 Days and Beyond

I still have this feeling that Donald John Trump will become America’s 45th President. It’s just a feeling, I must admit. I base it on two ideas. Trump likes winning and, by the numbers, he still has a narrow opportunity. Rumor grows, and is well-reasoned, that Trump is really a Clinton plant trying to throw the election to his old friend. That seems quite likely too. If that’s true, then a large percentage of the people are being cruelly played. That is nothing new in politics (the norm really).

The people form the basis of the other half of my Trump victory rationale. One would think that after so many recent decades of crime and deceit from Washington, the voters would welcome any outsider with open arms. Trump may be a narcissistic megalomania, a connected corporatist insider, a New York City liberal, and a long-time friend of the Clintons, but at least he is not a Clinton himself. There is, not as of now, any suspicion of Donald having murdered anyone, let alone half a cemetery. This would be the lesser of two evils factor.

Then again, it is never safe to overestimate the American public with its goldfish-like memory and gullibility of a three-year-old. They have made clear they are not interested in any third-party disruption of the Democrat-Republican alliance for the greater good of the bankers of the world. Thus, I need waste no energy on Gary Johnson or any one else. It is also useless to speculate of the resistance Hillary may face from a nominally Republican Congress. Any such will be slight and fleeting.

This is a story about Clinton who does, my feelings aside, stand a very good chance of becoming your next president. I say “your” not “our” because I will have nothing to do with it, either way. Having separated from politics and much of popular culture, I am now planning a full divorce. I’ll still be around, offering a real alternative, but this is your pointless fight.

Speaking of pointless, Hillary has already begun to assemble her transition team and is laying out her first term goals. It largely consists of three phases: 1) more government; 2) more government, and; 3) …more government. If you’re “with her”, then you must agree that the past 240 years of constant expansion just hasn’t been enough.

bio-photo-25

HillaryClinton.com.

While the tone of the agenda is tax and spend, there must be a healthy yet undisclosed dose of debt expansion. Assuming she has two terms, I conservatively estimate she will leave you with between $40 and $55 Trillion in on-books debt, circa 2024. If all goes well by her plans, the total unfunded liabilities will lurch towards $300 Trillion.

If all does not go well (and when does it?), then the Treasury and/or the Fed (and you by proxy) may have to assume some of the fictitious losses from the bursting of the derivatives bubble. In that case, multiply those already rosy numbers above by a factor of two to five.

Under a worst case scenario Hillary might spend much of her second term attempting to reorder the currency itself – a revaluation of high magnitude designed to offset the effects of inflation, hyper or otherwise. To borrow some of Jesse Jackson’s lingo, this revaluation will be devaluation, leading to evisceration. Also, look for the confiscation of your passports – you vote for this and you’ll have to stay and live with it.

Some of her agenda deals with:

Infrastructure rebuilding

America’s roads and bridges do need an overhaul. This would be best accomplished through privatization and user fees. Instead, look for new wasteful government programs complete with generous graft. These are to be paid for with new taxes on “the rich”. They will involve taxing a dollar to spend a quarter; the bargain will, as always, be passed on to you. Congratulations, you’re rich.

Immigration Reform

All illegal immigrants will be sanctioned and their extended families and friends welcomed to come in as well. More emphasis will be placed on expediting an increased flow of terror-prone muslims from the Middle East and elsewhere.

Promises will be made that this is an end measure, not to be repeated again. Those will be lies which the people will accept even if they know better. The goal is to have America majority non-white, non-European BEFORE 2050. The plan will work well, the results less so.

Gun Control

One of Hillary’s official unofficial aims is to diminish the Second Amendment. An outright repeal will be virtually impossible though completely unnecessary. A parade of “common sense” reforms should do the trick.

One of the first measure to come shall be the universal abolition of immunity for firearms manufacturers. When Mohammed bin Mohammed el Mohammed, freshly immigrated as a “refugee”, shoots and kills 50 people in the name of Allah, look for a class-action lawsuit against Sig Sauer. Bankrupting gun makers is as good as eliminating the Second Amendment.

This and more will be facilitated by Hillary’s Supreme Court. I imagine her whole aim in the appointment process will be to ram through one or more anti-gun candidates. Look for the same in the lower federal courts.

Beset with similar problems as the U.S., Germany stands to see an increase in gun ownership. As their defensive capability rises, so Hillary will have yours fall.

Universal College

This one will be especially popular. As the economy declines further and fewer people have the ability to find work, more will desire to waste four to ten years in various do-nothing college programs. And as universal healthcare worked out so well, so it may be with higher “education” (no actual education, no learning, is expected).

This may be approached in a variety of ways but will necessarily involve more public debt. More of the burden of existing private education debt may (will) be shifted to the taxpayers as well. This will account for $1 – $5 Trillion of the new (recorded) debt.

All Other Existing Entitlements

These will be safe and sound and expanded as time allows. More debt will flow.

War

Hillary has no stated claims of belligerence against any particular foes. At least none that I am aware of. Yet, as the above policies fail miserably there will be a need to divert the public attention. Look for near-perpetual war in the future – most of it in the Middle East. That will: allow the constant flow of terrorists into the U.S.; provide huge profits for the MIC and the banks, and; keep Americans preoccupied.

Do not look for any victories in the traditional sense. If the wars end up involving Russia or China, actual military defeat may be possible. Winning and losing are immaterial; it’s the spending that counts.

Debt and Money

As I’ve explained, the debt will continue to grow apace. The already worthless dollar may come to be itself something worse – an actual nuisance. Hillary will do whatever it takes to protect the cabal and ensure their increased power.

Much of this agenda, most maybe, will come to pass if Trump wins. After the election in November I plan to publish a set of predictions of what will follow in the next one to eight years and beyond. That will allow me a string of “see, I told you so” articles.

The America you knew is over. The Republic is a thing of the past and will not be revived any time soon, if ever. Better days will follow but much pain will be experienced to get to them. And they will be different from those of the past. Hopefully they will bring the people a little enlightenment. That may be too much to ask.

Not A Cowboys Fan

But I could be.

The other day I was talking to a friend at the club. He’s an MSU alumnus. He was seated below a picture of a departed friend, an avid Dallas Cowboys fan (buried in a jersey avid).

Those two things turned into this post when I read about Dak Prescott’s stellar performance in the preseason. He was a steal as a fourth-round pick. He’s not just going to back up Romo, he’s going to vie every week for starter.

Every time I think about writing off the NFL someone pulls me back. This year it’s number 4.

Frankenstein’s Monster: The DIA, ISIS, and You

Tags

, , , , , , , ,

For a long time I have, on this site, said ISIS/ISIL was a CIA creation. There’s no doubt that agency assists the terror group (while sometimes disrupting it too). However, the actually creation probably came from another, lesser known alphabet agency – the DIA or Defense Intelligence Agency.

Roger Stone explains today the short and terrible history of the birth of a modern menace:

Judicial Watch proved it. Under a Freedom of Information Act request, Judicial Watch was able to obtain a (heavily redacted) copy of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) directive that initiated the creation of ISIS in 2012. the DIA report states,

“THE WEST, GULF COUNTRIES, AND TURKEY [WHO] SUPPORT THE [SYRIAN] OPPOSITION . . . [SUPPORT] ESTABLISHING A DECLARED OR UNDECLARED SALAFIST PRINCIPALITY IN EASTERN SYRIA . . . IN ORDER TO ISOLATE THE SYRIAN REGIME . . .”.

Not even Judicial Watch seems to have appreciated the significance of this document, where its press release focused on the Benghazi attack. Recent releases of Hillary’s emails, moreover, confirm that taking out Assad has nothing to do with his alleged abuse of the Syrian people but because it will help Israel.

* On 22 June 2015, ex-CIA contractor, Steven Kelley, explained the US “created ISIL for sake of Israel” and to have a “never-ending war” in the Middle East, which would make the countries there “unable to stand up to Israel” and to provide “the constant flow of orders for weapons from the military-industrial complex at home, which is feeding a lot of money to the senators pushing for these wars”.

That last paragraph explains what the mad scientists were thinking, why they brought this thing to life: never-ending war and a lot of money. That pretty much sums up the existence of government. Sure, a lot of the little people get killed, but the big people, the right people stand to profit immensely.

hqdefault

Pete Santilli/YouTube.

There’s not only budgetary and contract loot at sake but also a means to hold power. ISIS gives the political rats something else with which to menace and control the population. This is possible because the monster has left the lab. It’s real and it’s on our streets. ISIS now freely operates in Europe and North America, killing and frightening people who might not care what it did, otherwise, in the Middle East.

That’s the truly insidious part of this plot. The same people who made this problem are the same ones who have unleashed it on the West. Having ISIS active in Syria, et al, allows big spending for the MIC. Bringing ISIS into America and France allows for big crackdowns on peasant liberty. Mohammed el Mohammed bin Mohammed blows up a nightclub; you need to turn it your guns and be x-rayed at the supermarket.

It’s brilliant really. And pure evil too. Try to remember that if you participate in the Great Quadrennial Black Mass come this November. It doesn’t matter as there will be no choices for truth and peace.

Instead of continuing to support those who would have us as slaves we should prepare to slay the monster ourselves and then turn our attention to the various Dr. Frankensteins. There is such a thing as revenge.

Cigar Survival: Luxury Even In Emergency

Tags

, , , ,

The cigar community and the prepper/survivalist community overlap somewhat. I would know; I write professionally for both. Not all preppers smoke cigars but many (a majority maybe) of cigar enthusiasts engage in some form of survival activities whether they think so or not. These tend to be employed or self-employed professionals of one sort or another. Most have something worth protecting. Most are conservative or libertarian leaning.

IMG_20160717_185804433_HDR

I’ve found that gun culture and the cigar hobby are almost synonymous. If you’re in a cigar shop lounge, odds are someone around you is carrying. It’s also likely that someone there is woefully out of shape. A little less food and drink would benefit many the cigar aficionado.

Something else to benefit the clique is a consideration of how the hobby might be impacted by an emergency situation. Everyone enjoys a good cigar or they should. What happens when or if the grid goes down? It doesn’t have to be a total collapse. An ice storm or a flood or a house fire can place the cigar lover in dire straits.

If the problem is only temporary, then most will be okay. Most cigar men (we’re mostly men) keep a stocked humidor at the house. Two or three days stranded there will deplete the box.

What happens if the house burns down, cigars and all? Or, if there is cause to flee the house. Or one is trapped on the road in an emergency. Or if the two or three days turns out to be months. These are worth thinking about and preparing against.

Why Does It Matter?

Most cigar guys smoke cigars to relax. Remaining calm is important to any survival situation. If one is to be inconvenienced for a long time (or short), it makes sense to have a few sticks on hand to ease the tension. No, it’s not critical but it may be a luxury you might want. It’s easy to take care of if you plan it out.

The Cigars.

If at all possible you should stock your favorites for the SHTF scenario. However, if the pickings are slim, you may have to compromise or be willing to do without.

In the event that no proper storage or humidification is available, you might consider choices that you wouldn’t otherwise. A really good quality might suffer dramatically from a prolonged lack of care. Others, usually cheaper makes, might do better. Their lower quality might actually be a long-term benefit. Think about that as a measure to just to get by.

However, hopefully you will pre-plan a little and not be left with drugstore smokes. There are a few items which can help you grab and go. Storage and portability is the key here.

Storage.

Xikar and a few other manufacturers make travel cases, fortified humidors with handles. Here’s a larger model:

IMG_20160818_141833243_HDR.jpg

IMG_20160818_141855502.jpg

That one will hold a lot of sticks – maybe 80. It was specifically designed to keep smokes safe and happy while traveling. It even works in the poorly pressurized holds of commercial airliners (that’s what the little knob next to the handle is for). That model costs about $100 but there are smaller and less expensive ones available. Some hold a mere 5 – 10 cigars and would be perfect for your bug-out bag or your car.

If you have to you can simply keep the cigars in a zip-lock bag with a humidity pillow:

_20160819_135918

If need be a dampened paper towel will suffice for humidification. Tap water should be shunned though it might not really matter in a dire emergency – do what you have to.

Tools.

If you have the smokes, they’re still useless without cutting and lighting apparati. A good cutter and a torch will easily fit in your bag. It’s not a bad idea to have a fire starter of some kind anyway (critical, really). Keep the fire simple as the main thing you want is reliability. Also think about keeping a little extra fuel.

The cutter could be as simple as a pocket knife or a multi-tool, also things no prepper should be without. If push comes to bite, one can do just that – bite the cap off with your teeth.

Other Considerations.

The biggest thing to remember is to keep your priorities straight. I said this is a luxury. that’s true anytime but especially in case of emergencies. Water, food, shelter, and safety are all more important. Enjoying a Habano should be one of the last things you prepare for.

Also your situation might preclude smoking even if you can technically do it. Cigars do give off a delicious, rich smoke. I’m sure you’ve had nice people praise the smell and that you remind them of so-and-so; jerks and busybodies will tell you it stinks. The point is it does generate smoke and smoke travels. If you want to remain concealed, you might not want to give off a smoke signal.

As with anything else, here, a little planning can go a long way. Yes, one could survive without the joy of cigars. Why do that if there’s an alternative? I say survive in style.

The Elective Perspective

Tags

, , ,

In less than three months the American people (well, maybe 57% of 50% of them) will participate in the Great Quadrennial Black Mass of political theater. The odor reaches new depths of nauseam.

The saying goes that every vote counts. It does if one is a member of the electoral college. Otherwise, no vote counts. Please explain to me how your voting for Hillary will swing California’s 55 or Florida’s 29? Actually, please don’t. You just go and do your part for … democracy and such. There is a general relation between popular, voting and electoral. But it is uncertain and insignificant.

So too is the election itself. The significant changes occurred long ago and it is certain the powers will have they way after this November – for a little while longer.

Still, there is a sport and a fandom, an exciting spirit exhibited this time of the political season. Hey, people love a rodeo despite the copious bullshit (literal is that case).

The Atlantic, already looking forward to Hillary’s coronation, is already beginning the whiny defense of America’s first bitch (their word) president. I couldn’t make it through the whole article but it seems they are afraid some unenlightened folks don’t like Old Cankles just because she’s old and cankley. Or because she’s a woman. They seem to forget her record of failed policy. Her warmongering. Her felonious neglect. The private cemetery full of previous associates. “R.I.P. Another Suicide…”

Pat Buchanan offers, as usual, a better perspective. Fervor and pomp aside, there are serious issues at stake for the people. And there is still time for a surprise or two.

Fred Reed sees beyond the election, beyond the popular nonsense, to the coming rectification of calamity. Things are now in motion which no election and no candidate can cure. If America took out a Craigslist ad for a Man on Horseback, nobody has yet answered.

Yesterday I toyed with the maps at 270towin. Based on my modeling I still foresee a narrow Trump victory. It matters not. A Trump win will signify that a slight majority of voters have an undefined desire to return to some vague idea of civility, maybe even prosperity. It will mean a short time of false hope. The ship has sailed; it now flounders.

A Clinton win herald the end. It will represent the stacks and masts going below the waterline. In a way that would be best. Then, in short order once the hulk hits the seabed, any survivors can build America 2.0. Or, they might likely accept a healthy Balkanization of the old territory. Necessarily moving on in any case. Some have prepared and are now manning the lifeboats. The rest will shortly meet with Davy Jones. All their choices.

Time will tell. And the time is short. Logical recourse gave way to hope, plausible then delusional. Now comes the reckoning.

The day after the electoral votes are tallied (and your vote discarded) I may post a state of the state memorandum for what it’s worth. Not much… Just maybe.Perchance. After the stench clears, at any rate.

Oh, Man! PC at Princeton

Tags

American colleges have failed outside of math and the hard sciences. Princeton and the Ivy League lead the charge downhill. In a time when these “schools”really should shut down, Princeton is stilling charging downward.

The HR Department at the former university is calling for the elimination of the word “man”. It’s not clear if this is in response to a belligerent feminist or daffy trans-vegetable, upset about the existence of men, or purely because the administrators are insane. The truth matters little.

“Consistent with style guidelines issued by Princeton’s Office of Human Resources and Office of Communications, and as endorsed by the Institutional Equity Planning Group as a preferred University practice, HR has developed these gender inclusive style guidelines, to be utilized by all HR staff members in HR communications, policies, job descriptions, and job postings,” the memo states.

They’ve produced a chart of Newspeak for the inclusively delusional:

Princeton Office of Lunacy.

These are the same people who want “him”, “her” and “his” replaced with “ze”, “zir”, “zed” or something. I suppose one can just make up their own language these days. You can’t call it manufactured language… How about “zip”, as in “zip up the straightjacket”. Is that too manly?

These schools used to pride themselves for provided quality education. Now, they provide nothing at all; the pride turned to vanity and then to mental illness. There is the comedy factor but it isn’t worth the Ivy League tuition. For the betterment of mankind they should man up and call it quits.

Do not send your children to these factories of academic failure.

Angela Merkel Comes Clean About Terrorism (Kind Of)

Tags

, , , , ,

Terrorism is nothing new to Europe. The ancient Romans used terrorism against the Germanic peoples. The Germanic often answered in like kind. Today, however, virtually all of the terror attacks reported from the Old Continent involve Islamist agents (all of the mass attacks do). The rate of incidence of these attacks has skyrocketed in the past year, coinciding with the arrival of more than a million Muslim “refugees” from the Middle East.

German Chancellor Merkel attends news conference after talks in Berlin

Photo: Reuters/Hannibal Hanschke.

The leaders of European nations have been rightly criticized for allowing this invasion and for not brutally crushing the terror-prone elements. Angela Merkel is the poster child for failed leadership.

Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Wednesday refugees had not brought terrorism to Germany, adding that Islam belonged in the country as long as it was practiced in a way that respected the constitution.

The invaders do not respect the German constitution nor anything else except for their opportunities. They are taking advantage of their ability to rape European women and kill “infidels” all the while collecting generous benefits from their victims.

Islam does not belong in Europe. Time and time again it has entered the Continent with disastrous consequences. Centuries have been spent repelling invasion and rebuilding from wars. It has no interest in the West and does not belong here. It’s hard to fathom that such a violent and backwards religious lifestyle belongs anywhere but it does have its place. There are backwards parts of the world. It must be removed back to them as fast as possible.

I take Merkel’s remarks as an admission. She is correct: though they carry out the separate attacks, the “refugees” did not usher in the terrorism at large. Merkel did. Hollande did. All of the elites who worship at the altar of diversity and altruistic humanism did. They are guilty. They should be punished.

Just Keep Hammering

Tags

This morning I woke on time and actually felt good, great maybe. I plugged away for about three hours and then it hit me – a sluggishness with an underlying sick feeling. I suspect it might be the coffee and the powdered doughnut I drank and ate conspiring with or against my summertime diet. I think they call it a sugar crash or something. Then there’s the threat that’s been brewing in the back of my mind for three days.

I’m going to keep going. A real breakfast and a trip to the gym (arms and shoulders today) will cure the tiredness. I specialize in dark threats; soon that brooding menace in my mind will be worrying about me.

Moving on is all you can do. With anything.

Nearly fifteen years ago I was in D.C. I was standing in a ballroom at the Mayflower talking to Steve Forbes. He had just given an inspirational address on the sorry state of our monetary policies. Then, as now and ever, those policies are ruinous. His inspiration came from how he approached the topic.

Even a connected and educated billionaire is a small thing when set against the monolithic evil of central banking. He was (and is) in the know, understanding more acutely than most what’s wrong and what it is doing to our country. He knows the windmills must be tilted though failure seems assured.

I asked him what we, any of us, could do to make a difference. He answer was amazingly simple, “Just keep hammering away.” He told me it wasn’t really about winning (though that would be nice); it’s about the fight, about doing what’s right no matter the outcome. Just because they’re evil and they keep winning doesn’t mean we retreat or concede – ever.

For old times sake, let me now wield that hammer: the Federal Reserve, its practices, its supporters, and beneficiaries are all pure evil. They are the bane of freedom. They need to be destroyed. There, I got that out of the way for the morning.

Now it’s time to cure my coffee hangover.

You? You just keep hammering away at whatever it is you’re facing today.
