Statuaries: Fred on Robert E. Lee on American Decline

Tags

Please consult the inaugural column by Toadstool over at Fred Reed’s place. Toadstool writes in similar fashion to Fred; they may be related. This one is about how General Lee called out the modern Empire.  Actually called it by that name.

“The consolidation of the states into one vast empire, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of ruin which has overwhelmed all that preceded it.” – Robert E. Lee

The column repeatedly calls for a return to the Articles of Confederation, to freedom. That would be a vast improvement to the current failed system. Most anything would be an improvement. We could still heed Lee’s warnings. We won’t.

Instead we’ll just keep taking down his statutes.

Real Safe Spaces (or Not): State Comparisons

Tags

, ,

I love these kind of stats. Guns.com ran a story about the safest and least safe states in America. They broke it down into various categories. The one that caught my jaded eye was “Fewest/Most Fatalities per 100 Million Vehicle Miles of Travel.”

The “safest” driving state: Massachusetts. This actually did not surprise me, having spent tremendous amounts of time in Mass and having driven most of their roads at different times and seasons and under different conditions. They drive a little crazy and there is a ton of traffic (round Baaahssten) but they know how to do it. They drive more proactively than most Americans. Minga!

The worst, most dangerous and deadly state is, of course: South Carolina. Two reasons for this: First, the squalid little third world excuse for a state has no money for road construction or maintenance; much of I-26 and I-20 are gravel or dirt and lack overpasses or signage (not that the locals can read). Second, the people of First Secession simply do not know how to drive! It’s a wonder they don’t all get killed every year… Imagine a drunken and retarded monkey trying to drive a car while simultaneously eating a Big Mac, texting, and sleep babbling something about NASCAR. Now imagine an entire state of them. Welcome to SC. I hereby revoke all SC driver’s licences! Oh, wait. They don’t have those…

Guns.com.

Check out the other categories! There are some anomalies. For instance, Maine has the fewest assaults per capita. This is easily explained by the fact that an assault must, by definition, involve at least two people. See – they only have two or three residents there and they’re not in the same places. Oddly enough Alaska has the highest number of assaults. Same equation but with a polar opposite conclusion. At least SC dodged that one. Come to think of it, that might call the reliability of the whole thing into question…

Liberty Down: Anniversary of Imfamy

Today marks the 50th Anniversary of one of the most disgraceful incidents in American military history: The Attack on the U.S.S. Liberty, AGTR-5, by Israel. 34 crewmen were killed and 171 wounded in a sustained assault, canon and torpedo fire, from the air and then from the sea.

The attack was entirely unprovoked and the response of the U.S. government was unconscionable. Rescue aircraft launched by the Sixth Fleet were called back immediately, even as the Liberty continue to take withering fire; called back allegedly by Sec. Def. Robert “May He Burn in Hell” McNamara himself.

Please read that linked Infogalactic article. There are other sources, including books, on the matter. You will hear nothing today (or any day/year) about this from the mass fake news media. The cover-up is ongoing even in 2017 – proof of this is that this is likely the first you’ve ever heard of the incident.

The entire event – from the initial meddling in/monitoring of someone else’s war to attack itself to the failed response to the horrible mistreatment/dishonoring of the dead and the survivors to the continuing silence – is more proof positive of the utter untrustworthiness of government.

The ship could not have had a more appropriate name. Remember the Liberty.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks this whole thing feels like an episode from The Twilight Zone…

YouTube looted video from Periscope.

Cerno is brilliant and he can’t put his finger on it yet. Can anyone?

Big Brother Forever! On With the FISA 702 Extension

This would be the same Trump administration that, just a short while ago, complained about being spied upon by this very program

The Trump administration endorsed a full extension of the intelligence community’s most controversial snooping powers Wednesday, saying that the public has gotten the wrong impression about tools that are designed to target foreigners but, increasingly, have ensnared Americans as well.

Thomas P. Bossert, President Trump’s top counterterrorism adviser, in an op-ed in the New York Times, said they are backing a new bill introduced this week to permanently extend Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act — the part of the law that allows snooping.

Mr. Bossert said the public will have to trust the government’s assertions that the program is valuable, since most of its successes have to remain classified. But he said Section 702 intelligence helped thwart the New York City subway bombing plot.

“Simply put, the use of this authority has helped save lives,” Mr. Bossert wrote.
Section 702 allows intelligence agencies to collect vast amounts of information from foreign sources located outside the U.S. as part of antiterrorism investigations. Communications with Americans can, however, be snared.

The section is slated to expire at the end of this year, and security hawks and civil liberties advocates are now battling over whether to extend it.

Extended it shall be! “Trust us, we’re from the government.”

Undoubtedly the program may have saved some lives. Others seem to have fallen between the cracks. There was that …. Fourth …. something? No mind.

Amazing. No, actually it’s typical. Back to the TeeVee (which is watched and watching…).

The Hammer-Back of Notre Dame

I’m not aware of the IRA ever attacking Paris. ISIS does and did again today: Hammer-Wielding Jihadi hammered by police bullets.

French media cited a source close to the inquiry as saying the injured assailant claimed to be a “soldier of the Caliphate”, presumed to be a reference to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil).

The Telegraph.

Come to think of it, the IRA never attacked Canada either. Guess who did? Also today.

These were small attacks, mere pin-pricks. 10,000 little pin-pricks punctuated by the occasional massacre, train bombing, or multiple jet strikes on skyscrapers.

It probably won’t make the news but AS ALWAYS the authorities in Paris and in Toronto were already aware of the assailants. Always.

Oh, and that fake indignation crap wasted no time in manifesting itself either.

***My short no-article on Reality “Crossfit” Winner (Real Name) garnered ridiculous interest today. No quite viral. Maybe bacterial. Thanks. I have a theory a-forming about the whole case. I think I shall keep that to myself. It also flashed through my mind to pay her attorney a visit and ask a few questions. Or even her. I know where she is and could easily get in. Not that she would tell me the truth of what transpired in Belize between her and her actual superiors. No matter.

There is Something Wrong With the Reality Winner (Real Name) Case

I cannot put my finger on it but I feel it, sense it. Actually, there’s nothing but wrong with this matter – from end to end.

Reality “Being White is Terrorism” Winner (Real Name) is charged in the Southern District of Georgia with leaking a classified NSA report on Russian election manipulation. Something everything smells in this case.

th

“What, me leak???”

By the way, this is the face of the NSA (Ft. Gordon and beyond) – and Gen. Y – and crossfit…

Nothing I’ve read makes any sense (especially the “Murican comments here and there). This is either a false flag, a ruse, a diversion, or else the most pitiful spying/whistle-blowing case I’ve ever heard of.

Thanking God I’m not on the Federal Defender appointment short list anymore. Not buying anything, here. And not looking much further into it.

Readers, beware.

Maybe Not a Good Idea? Zombie Medicine

I think, I hope, I know where these people are going with this concept – sold, here, as reanimating the dead. Maybe it’s extended CPR for the brain. Dunno.

The first attempts to bring people back from the dead are slated to start this year.
Bioquark, a Philadelphia-based company, announced in late 2016 that they believe brain death is not ‘irreversible’.

And now, CEO Ira Pastor has revealed they will soon be testing an unprecedented stem cell method on patients in an unidentified country in Latin America, confirming the details in the next few months.

To be declared officially dead in the majority of countries, you have to experience complete and irreversible loss of brain function, or ‘brain death’.

According to Pastor, Bioquark has developed a series of injections that can reboot the brain – and they plan to try it out on humans this year.

They have no plans to test on animals first.

Zombie, Inc.: “We’re going to make some zombies!”

India: “No. You’re taking your stuff and leaving our country. Now.”

I read this article with The Ramones’ Pet Sematary playing in my head:

I don’t want to be buried in a Pet Sematary,
I don’t want to live my life again.
I don’t want to be buried in a Pet Sematary,
I don’t want to live my life again.

No idea what to think about this, really. I just don’t get a warm, re-animated feeling from it. It will probably be a good, logical next-step life-saving procedure. That, or fodder for a good sci-fi novel…
