About that Missile Strike in Syria

Donald Trump, Syria, War

Virtually all American foreign policy and military action over the past 120 years has been based on lies and deception (and a desire to profit from destruction). Mr. Clinton’s Trump’s misadventure in Syria last week was no exception.

Speaking of foreign policy, it’s nice to once again have Amy Carter Ivanka Trump providing driving consultations on weighty matters.

DONALD Trump’s decision to rain down 59 Tomahawk missiles on a Syrian air base was sparked by his daughter Ivanka’s “heartbroken” response to Assad’s chemical attack, insiders have claimed.

Trump has long opposed military intervention in Syria – both as a private citizen when he criticised Obama’s intervention in the region, and as President.

But the Republican firebrand is believed to have made his dramatic U-turn after being convinced by his daughter Ivanka’s impassioned response to the Assad regime’s use of chemical weapons on Tuesday.

A source close to the first family said: “Increasingly, Ivanka is having more and more influence over her father.

The feelings… It was all the “beautiful babies” killed that got the attention of the White House. No word of concern, yet, for the other babies killed by the missile strike. Gotta break some eggs I suppose…

There is still no evidence whatsoever that Assad gassed anyone. Of course, evidence is no longer required. The government and the media need mere allegations, sensational or otherwise, and little else. The gullible public will believe what they’re told. Their goldfish-like attention span always expires by the time the truth comes out.

The truth, here, in the earliest stages of the aftermath, appears that ISIS or some other “rebel” group stored crude chemical weapons in a warehouse. These are the people Assad is fighting to free his nation from. The Russians are fighting them too. As part of the fight Moscow bombed the warehouse. Gases incidentally escaped and killed people.

The CIA (likely backing the “rebels” or whoever) knew all of this. Where known truths fail, lies will work. Blame Assad and drop some bombs. Stir the pot into further frenzy.

Ron Paul called it like it is:

“The peace talks have ended now. They’re terrified that peace was going to break out! Al-Qaeda was on the run, peace talks were happening, and all of a sudden, they had to change, and this changes things dramatically! I don’t expect peace talks anytime soon or in the distant future.”

Peace, Dr. Paul knows, isn’t very profitable for the Empire and its owners. The strike was worse than useless from a peaceful standpoint. It will keep the Syrian cauldron boiling. It keeps ISIS happy and busy. It destabilizes the already shaky region. It did nothing to ISIS operations in Egypt, Sweden, or anywhere else. And it risks further needless confrontation with Russia. Some beautiful babies are dead. But, hey, we’s tuff!

Now, if you will simply turn your attention back to the glowing screen on the wall, I think some men are playing with balls. Beer might be advertised.

Money for jobs, schools, and healthcare?! That sounds like America first… Damn, even communist protesters get it… RT.

Congratulations. You Elected Hilary Clinton…

America is completely and utterly out of control. Any hopes that a Trump Presidency would reverse course or hold position have now faded away. Last night the President lobbed nearly 60 Tomahawk cruise missiles into Syria.

  • The US military fired more than 50 tomahawk missiles at al-Shayrat military airfield at 8.45pm EDT Thursday
  • Moves comes just hours after Trump said ‘something should happen’ following Tuesday’s gas-attack atrocity
  • Trump took action after more than 80 were killed and many more were injured in the Sarin poison gas attack
  • ‘Even beautiful babies were cruelly murdered in this very barbaric attack,’ he said after launching the strike
  • Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a furious response calling airstrike an ‘illegal act of aggression’
  • US called ‘a partner of ISIS’ by al-Assad’s spokesman who said missile strikes are ‘reckless and irresponsible’
  • Trump says airfield used to store toxic weapons and was the base for the aircraft involved in the Sarin attack
  • Claims that nine were killed, and more were injured, in the strike which has severely damaged the airbase
  • US told Moscow it was launching an airstrike about 30 minutes in advance – but did not ask for permission

U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer USS Porter (DDG 78) conducts strike operations while in the Mediterranean Sea

Bombs away, suckers… Daily Mail.

The public, those few who are somewhat awake, seems elated. As of this writing, 65+% of a Drudge poll see the action as favorable. I ask, “favorable to whom”?

Not everyone is happy. Rand Paul cautiously reminded the President that, per the Constitution, Congress is supposed to approve war. A little too late, Rand. This episode, if worth nothing else, proves definitively that the old Constitution is dead and gone. Cling at your own risk.

Nigel Farage, an early Trump supporter, cautioned:

The MEP hit out by warning that those who voted for the US president would be ‘worried’ by his retaliation.

‘I am very surprised by this. I think a lot of Trump voters will be waking up this morning and scratching their heads and saying “where will it all end?”, he said.

‘As a firm Trump supporter, I say, yes, the pictures were horrible, but I’m surprised. Whatever Assad’s sins, he is secular.’

He added: ‘Previous interventions in the Middle East have made things worse rather than better.’

Current UKIP leader, Paul Nuttal, was a bit more blunt: “The U.S. bombing of Syria last night was rash, trigger happy, nonsensical and will achieve nothing. I hoped for better.”

We all hoped for better. Hope in one hand and ….

Vox Day criticized the move:

That being said, I will certainly be disappointed if the God-Emperor makes regime change in Syria an objective of his administration, and I will continue to oppose any military involvement in the Middle East, Europe, the Ukraine, and any military activity directed against China or Russia.

The Russians are beyond livid:

“That’s it. The last remaining election fog has lifted. Instead of an overworked statement about a joint fight against the biggest enemy, Isis (the Islamic State), the Trump administration proved that it will fiercely fight the legitimate Syrian government, in a tough contradiction with international law and without UN approval, in violation of its own procedures stipulating that the Congress must first be notified of any military operation unrelated to aggression against the US. On the verge of a military clash with Russia.

“Nobody is overestimating the value of pre-election promises but there must be limits of decency.

“Beyond that is absolute mistrust. Which is really sad for our now completely ruined relations. And which is good news for terrorists.

“One more thing. This military action is a clear indication of the US President’s extreme dependency on the opinion of the Washington establishment, the one that the new president strongly criticised in his inauguration speech.

“Soon after his victory, I noted that everything would depend on how soon Trump’s election promises would be broken by the existing power machine. It took only two and a half months.”

-Dmitry Medvedev

Medvedev correctly pointed out the attack was both illegal and came within an inch of initiating a real war with a real and capable enemy.

Where to start with this???

The underlying Sarin gas attack is questionable at best. The U.S. media has taken the government’s word verbatim. Still, there is no definitive proof it happened. And, if it did happen, there’s no proof Assad was behind it. And, even if it happened and Assad is responsible, there is absolutely no American interest in the matter and nothing to be gained from intervention. It is not our damned business.

Is this what you voted for? Trump is now enacting the worst fears associated with the Clinton campaign. He’s running headlong towards war with Syria, North Korea, and maybe even Russia – in addition to ongoing actions in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, Libya, and God knows where else. Madness. Sheer utter madness. I advised you all to abstain from the election. Hey, voters, this is on you!

The problem, for us, with radical Islamists, has nothing to do with their activities in their home nations. The problem is with their terrorism in our countries, like Sweden, home of the latest predictable attack.

The solution is very simple: 1) stop bothering these people in their countries, and 2) get them out of ours. Damned simple. And obviously not going to happen just yet. There must be a little more money to be given the banksters and the MIC. You voted for this.

You also voted for the jumbled, same-as-always home agenda. Trump, the businessman and outsider, is working hard to surround himself with more insiders and Wall Street criminals. He cannot marshal the idiots in the GOP, even as they hold a complete majority in D.C. No healthcare reform. No tax cuts. The wall may stall. The deportations and travel bans also stall even as easy solutions abound. A “neutral” budget with no redress of the $20 Trillion (on-books) debt nor the Fed’s funny money. Your vote wasted again.

*In fairness, the man is working to create some jobs and cut some regs. There’s that. Small things, mice among the elephants.

As Vox noted, the real war for the West will be fought in the West. The other side has been fighting for some years now, even as you’ve stared at the TeeVee. All the attacks on all the foreign nations are mere distractions. They garner easy support. Yet, few actually want to fight at home – fear of being called “racist” or something. I hear local Muslims are concerned about fictional backlash from tomorrow’s terrorist attack… The media, the SJWs, and the dullards will lend pitiful support. Madness.

None of our interventions in the Middle East and elsewhere over the past 25+ years have done anything except kill people, displace people, overrun the West with “refugees”, break things, empower terrorists, and waste money. We can’t ever win these wars because there is nothing to win or to gain. Syria is no different except that we risk war with Russia. And, that, we certainly cannot win.

All the while a real war (we must win if we are to survive) rages around us.

I love fun and games as much as the next man; I’m having a blast this Masters’s week. Yet, maybe, just maybe, it’s time to wake up and wise up.

Expect nothing but trouble (certainly no help from) the Washington-Wall Street-Fed-globohomo-MIC-media-GOP-DNC-Reagan-Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama-Trump cabal.

Nothing. Maybe it’s time to revive that letter to Putin…

President Trump promised to “smash the hell out of ISIS”. He’s ordered his generals to come up with a plan to do just that. One would hope they would focus of doing the smashing in places where it might benefit the U.S. – Orlando, New York, allied areas in Europe, etc. Instead they are hinting at further action in Syria.

ISIS is in Syria, no doubt. We made sure of that. They’re all over Syria. And it’s very bad there. But, as bad as it may be, IT’S IN SYRIA. Last I checked, that was thousands of miles away in a place that barely concerns the average American.

Of course, this is just one option among many:

The top U.S. military officer declined repeatedly on Thursday to rule out committing U.S. ground troops to battle the Islamic State in in Syria, stressing that the Pentagon will present President Donald Trump with “a full range of options” to combat the terror organization.

Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, made the comments at a Washington research center as the 30 days that President Donald Trump gave military leaders to develop a strategy to fight the Islamic State are almost up.

“I’m in the business of providing the president with options,” Dunford said several times at the Brookings Institute in Washington, D.C. when repeatedly pressed on whether those choices would include conventional ground troops.

Following through on a campaign promise, Trump ordered a 30-day review of the U.S. strategy to fight the Islamic State on Jan. 28. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis is expected to present him with the plan next week, according to the Pentagon.

Another Marine general once said, “war is a racket”. Times have changed, some trends with them. For instance, the U.S. no longer wins wars. In fact, it seems to enter into them with the express intention of not winning. Rather, they’re just something to do, to waste money and lives on. The racket lives on all these years later.

meme-smedley-butler

Waking Times.

I suppose it is no good rushing to judgment just yet. But there is a pattern to beware of. However it happened, ISIS is our enemy. And they fight us here, on our soil, these days. That would be my preference for where to smash them. Eradicate them in The West. Syria, even before it starts, smells a lot like Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, Iraq again, Sudan, some earlier Syria, and still Afghanistan. No bueno.

Any action in Syria, if it must happen, has to include cooperation with Russia, both to succeed and to avert a real war. And it might be nice, for once, to see the little countries of that stricken region solve their own damned neighborhood problems. Or, even better, maybe we could draft the banksters to fight their own war for once. Overly optimistic, yes.

I hope there are other, better options in the plan. We’ll know soon enough. Developing…

A Possible Solution for Actual Refugees of the Syrian Civil War

Yesterday, in his first interview with ABC, President Trump called for establishing “safe zones” for innocent people fleeing the violence of the Syrian war. And he means doing so in Syria of all places.

Europe has, over the past two years, foolishly allowed several million “refugees” to enter the Old Continent. Most of these are men, not women and children – men of fighting age. And they flee towards welfare, crime, and terrorist opportunity, rather than from anything. Many are not from Syria. You may have heard that this is causing problems.

If the U.S. has to meddle in a foreign affair which does not at all concern us, this is the way to do it. Certainly, the humane thing to do. Russia immediately cautioned Washington on the complications of such adventure. These warning must be heeded. Any action must be undertaken with intelligence and the least amount of U.S. involvement possible.

Fortunately there is already international interest and precedent.

Syria’s neighbors, Jordan and Turkey, already have refugee camps within their borders. And at least one Israeli politician has already called for Israeli-established “safe zones” in Syria.

How about this solution: The Israelis can move in and man a refugee camp in Syria. The Russians, who already have a massive air presence in the region, can supply protective air cover. Jordan, Turkey, and the nations of Europe, likely desiring a break from current immigration, can finance the operation. Trump and the U.S. can orchestrate the plan, cheaply.

syrian-civil-war-getty

Getty / The Independent (U.K.).

This would allow Israel, Jordan and Turkey a way to closely monitor the situation in their back yards. It would ease migration into Europe. Russia would be able to integrate air cover, a no-fly zone, into its on-going bombing campaign against ISIS – thus preventing “friendly” fire incidents. And the U.S. could “do the right thing” while adhering to inexpensive non interventionism. Innocent civilians would be protected.

Though this may be beyond the thinking of many world leaders, I will gladly give them credit for the plan. You’re welcome.

Monday night during that pitiful excuse for a debate I heard several semi-coherent blurbs about fighting ISIS and terrorism. Most of these blurbs were accusations leveled from one RepubliCrat to another. Essentially there was no strategy discussed.

Much of the current political and military lying about ISIS concerns Syria. The plan seems to be: fund and equip ISIS until it is time to bomb them; then do so, violating international agreements. For all the craziness, the plan does make sense geographically. ISIS is in Syria. They’re also in America.

They’re active in America. Which country is Orlando located in? How about New York? Minneapolis? San Bernardino? They’re everywhere, here. And that is literally the truth.

Recently linked FBI data shows that Islamic and other terrorists have been active in every state during the past year. Here’s a map:

1-12b8cd9c82

FBI / Breitbart.

Seven thousand seven hundred and twelve encounters in the past year. Not all, obviously, were violent. Still, this rate and quantity is ridiculous.

The FBI has been criticized frequently for their seeming inability to combat terrorism even when the suspect(s) are on the radar. Maybe they are overwhelmed. 7,712 cases could do that.

Information analyzed out of Arizona revealed that a little over 80% of the cases (215 out of 267) involved Islamic terrorists. It could just be that we have an Islamic terror problem in this country (not Syria).

The Regime’s solution is simply: just bring in more Muslims – by any means necessary. If they wind up on the terror watch / deportation list, make them citizens. Hillary Clinton will continue this program, accelerating it if possible. It will continue under Donald Trump, his bombastic counter-assertions aside.

America was not like this not all that long ago. We had problems then, yes. But, call me crazy, things seemed better back then. The numbers.

Fighting For Them Over There, So They Can Fight Us Over Here

The United States is free-falling as fast as WTC No. 7. Remember the “gotta fight ’em over there so we don’t have to fight ’em over here” refrain from ten years (or so) ago? Right or wrong thinking, that’s ancient history now.

“Our” government is bombing our enemies abroad in support of our other enemies so that associated enemies can bomb us here. Washington has made little sense since the Cleveland administration.

Yesterday, in Syria, U.S.forces bombed the embattled national army … in support of ISIS. In Obama-speak, the JV team is fighting a D2 college squad; to help Obama sent in some pro ringers. The bombing allowed ISIS to at least temporarily advance. U.S. commanders, such as they are (if any), say the run was an accident. Russia is mad as hell, seeing this for what it is – a violation of the recent cease-fire agreement. Americans watch reality Teevee and football.

Last week U.S. special forces suffered embarrassment in Syria. They are in country to advise and support “rebel” fighters, who at any given time support or are ISIS. The hardened American troops, the greatest on Earth ever, retreated hastily after being called names by the angry locals. Americans got tattoos.

The fighters scream anti-American chants as a column of pick-up trucks carrying US commandos drives away from them.

“Christians and Americans have no place among us,” shouts one man in the video. “They want to wage a crusader war to occupy Syria.”

Another man calls out: “The collaborators of America are dogs and pigs. They wage a crusader war against Syria and Islam. ”

This assessment is 100% correct: Americans (and now Christians) simply have no legitimate business in Syria. That nation is small, far-away, inconsequential, and of now interest to Americans.

U.S. Commandos discuss support for ISIS in Syria. Telegraph, UK.

The inverse opposite can also be said, correctly: that Syrians and Muslims have no business in America or the West. That would include places like New Jersey, New York, and Minnesota. Yesterday, while the government killed and maimed where we don’t belong, the Muslims returned the favor, here.

In New Jersey a Marine Corps fun-run was canceled after a bomb exploded in a trash can. No-one was injured in the attack. Americans searched for Pokemon.

Then, in New York City, dozens were injured when a bomb exploded in a dumpster near a high-rise residential building in Chelsea. A second device was disarmed. Americans gorged on empty carbohydrates.

nimbus-image-1474205999001

Bomb blast, NYC. Daily Mail.

It’s not clear if these bombing were related or coordinated. Happening the same day in the same region is mere coincidence. Could have easily been the work of a Confederate Battle Flag or a rogue AR-15.

There was a definite Muslim angle in Minnesota. Last night a Somali import stabbed eight people at a mall while extolling the virtues of Allah. He was shot dead. Americans gleefully spent money they didn’t have.

The All-American mall, Saturday night. Daily Mail (notice how the European press actually covers America? Odd, huh?

Minnesotans may have noticed slight changes in their state lately. If the Somalis aren’t trying to rape young girls, they’re hacking away in the food court. Diversity and all that strength.

Given all of these attacks, I’m a little suspicious about the Colonial Pipeline leak. Disruption in one or two major gas supply lines would cause have more damage than one or two bombs in garbage cans.

This news all comes fifteen years and a week post 9/11. People often lament that America isn’t the same country it was 50 years ago. It isn’t. And it’s not even the same place it was in 2001. If people want to survive, it may be time to give up television, the obesity, the triviality, the willful ignorance, and the support of a government that actively operates against them.It’s time to wake up. Past time.

Playing Both Sides Against Nothing

Eric Margolis explains the increasingly idiotic American war in Syria.

What a mess! In the crazy Syrian war, US-backed and armed groups are fighting other US-backed rebel groups. How can this be?

It is so because the Obama White House had stirred up the war in Syria but then lost control of the process. When the US has a strong president, he can usually keep the military and intelligence agencies on a tight leash.

…

As a result, the two arms of offensive US strategic power, the Pentagon, and CIA, went separate ways in Syria. Growing competition between the US military and militarized CIA broke into the open in Syria.

Fed up with the astounding incompetence of the White House, the US military launched and supported its own rebel groups in Syria, while CIA did the same.

Fighting soon after erupted in Syria and Iraq between the US-backed groups. US Special Forces joined the fighting in Syria, Iraq and most lately, Libya.

While nothing good can possibly come out of this shifting mire of stupidity, many things could go very wrong. Some already have. Some probable outcomes to consider:

  • At best huge amounts of dollars are wasted and a few Americans are killed;
  • Huge numbers of Syrians and others are killed, maimed, and displaced;
  • Displaced refugees flood into the West;
  • The refugees are mad as hell with us (and with pretty good reason);
  • More terrorism (here not there);
  • The possibility of ISIS or some other radical group actually acquiring a nation;
  • The spread of the above to surrounding areas;
  • Full blown U.S. war with casualties, expenses, and no win possible (see Iraq and Afghanistan, etc.);
  • War with Russia (worse than no-win);
  • A government corrupt enough to move on and do it again somewhere else and a population ignorant enough to let them.

We were warned against such foolishness. In addition to the warnings we have actively seen these things play out live. Some of these examples are recent. Very little of all this activity is hidden.

What is Gun Control?

Gun control…

For some it’s about taking advantage of tragedy and belittling those they hate. I almost didn’t include this first story due to the inherently bigotry and low-brow “journalism” behind it. Still, here it is. A woman in Texas, a self-described Second Amendment proponent and gun owner, committed an atrocious crime (the facts of which I don’t have and don’t want) – she apparently murdered her own daughters after an argument. The woman was also shot and killed by the police. Three women dead for no good reason – terrible.

Enter Helen Thompson writing on American News X. Thompson offered up an assessment of the crime in terms both racist and anti-Christian.

Too bad for Christian Christy Byrd Sheats two daughter’s, 17 and 22, Sheats had a gun with which to “protect her family.” That gun was used to gun down both girls in the street after a family argument.

Sheats was then killed by police after refusing to drop her weapon, literally bringing home the insanity of the famed phrase “from my cold, dead, hands.”

Note the immediate description of the shooter as a Christian. Would Thompson dare describe a Muslim terrorist as a Muslim terrorist? I think not. I did a quick Googling of “Helen Thompson” and “Muslim” and the first thing I saw was Thompson berating Donald Trump for trying to “initiate a Muslim witch hunt”. I guess witch hunts aren’t even for witches anymore – just Christians.

Thompson continues:

This woman appears to be the poster child of white, GOP America. She praised her religion, loved veterans and country music, praised Ronnie Reagan and George W., and loved her guns. She was a Texas resident, originally from Alabama. This woman literally reeked of right wing Americana — of normal, gun-loving life. She loved her grandmother, had been bitten by a black widow, and basically, seemed to love life and her children.

The white America. Would Thompson ever write about one of the thousands of murders committed by blacks each year (47% of total murders vs. 10% of the population)? No. It’s just a white, Christian, all-American kind of thing. Y’all wouldn’t understand.

Thompson didn’t even call for more gun control beyond her ridicule. “No good guy with a gun stopped this senseless murder by a ‘good guy’ with a gun,” she ranted – what a tired, worn, anecdotal, and worthless “argument”. If not even true in this case – the police officer “good guy” used a gun to stop the white, Christian bad gal.

Maybe some of the problems the left has with guns in America comes more from a hatred of America and its people than from a hatred of guns. These cretins, seething in their hatred, want the government to disarm all the white Christians – and everyone else of decent persuasion.

I have no use for the government at all. Some people on “my side” do. Droves of my friends boast about obtaining their concealed carry permits. Actress Kelly McGillis just joined the ranks of the permitted carriers following an attack at her North Carolina home.

I like that they have armed themselves in a world seemingly gone mad but I do not like the way they have done it. Why a permit from the state? I know it’s the law in most places. I understand that. Most people who get the permits are law-abiding. It’s a law that shouldn’t be abided by – or exist. Why should there be permits for the exercise of the right to carry anyway? Rights do not require permission slips.

I sympathize with and applaud Mrs. McGillis’s decision to arm and defend herself. I found it odd though that she took the measure following a home invasion. North Carolina does not require a permit of any kind to defend oneself at one’s home. I realize she obviously wants protection outside her house too. Thus the permit. And, thus, my problem.

Running to the government for permission to protect one’s life is little different in my mind to running to the government to prohibit others from protecting themselves. Either way, the government is not the answer. Usually, it’s the problem.

In a sense everyone wants reasonable “gun control”. Some, like Thompson, would have the state “control” guns by banning them from white, Christian hands at least. Gun owners generally favor the responsible, personal “control” of the individual firearm. If, to them, that means acquiescing to a state law, then they do it. Either way it’s the state, the state, the state. How about some gun control for the state itself?

In addition to regulating firearms, the government has a long history of widely distributing them, usually with terrible consequences. Most of government works like that – they find a small problem and come up with a solution that creates a bigger problem. I suppose it justifies their existence. I don’t see the need.

A few years ago the ATF was caught red-handed selling and then giving guns to Mexican drug cartels and to criminals. Some of those guns came back, fast and furious, and were used to kill Americans. The ATF isn’t alone. They are novices compared to the CIA. The “intelligence” agency has taken to giving arms to Syrian “rebels”. Many of those weapons were stolen and ended up on the black market – gun show of choice for terrorists. And, you guessed it, some of those arms have killed Americans. By arming one side (maybe more) of this conflict which does not concern the U.S. the government helps generate more angry “refugees” who then migrate to the West for various purposes – some for aid and reflief, others for revenge and crime. Little problem, “solution”, bigger problems.

Government agent Joe Biden oversees “gun control” while exploiting “loopholes” at a Jordanian gun show. NYT.

The left tries to scare people with stories of white, Christian Americans wielding automatic assault rifles and rocket launchers. They want the government to do something about it despite the fact it isn’t a problem. The government does do something! It supplies “Kalashnikov assault rifles, mortars and rocket-propelled grenades” to rebels and then to the black market and to terrorists. Nice, huh?

Another of the left’s arguments for more government control is that the firearms available when the Second Amendment was ratified were flintlocks and thus those are the only ones the people are entitled to keep and bear. By that logic, shouldn’t the CIA be running muskets and not rocket launchers? Maybe people like Thompson should limit their writing to quill pens. All beside the point.

How about less government for a change? How about limiting or banning the state’s use of firearms (and rockets and grenades)? Might that make for a safer society? As is, they give us freedom control, crime, war, mindless intervention, black markets, and terrorism; all that in addition to rules, regulations, taxes, inflation, oppression, etc. More government, more crime. Why have it or its controls?

Syria’s heating up … some more…  When your Congresscritter or local idiot suggests U.S. intervention, just remind them how many dangerous Syrians you’ve seen locally.  So far, I have counted 0.  Watcha got, Loren?

President Sotoro addressed the soon-to-be unemployed graduates of Ohio State University.  “Unfortunately, you’ve grown up hearing voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that’s at the root of all our problems. Some of these same voices also do their best to gum up the works. They’ll warn that tyranny always lurking just around the corner. You should reject these voices. Because what they suggest is that our brave, and creative, and unique experiment in self-rule is somehow just a sham with which we can’t be trusted.” – El Presidente Sotoro Kenya El Muhammad, the Lusterless…

Kids, this is what is known as a liar admitting (in his own way) the truth.  “So the wolf would say when cornered by the hounds.”  He says there’s nothing to fear, you should be afraid; just do the opposite of whatever he says.

Speaking of wolves!  Season* is nearing!  In the meantime, you can enjoy that work of fiction I mentioned a week or so back.  It’s coming in the near future after I cut it down a bit to blogable size.  A few of you have heard me tell parts of it before.  It’s called The Fable of the Wolves and the Tiger!  As John Boy’s Karl Childers would say, “Them wolves, they made that tiger powerful angry.   Hmmmmmmmm.”

Dangers from the gym: over-doing and under-doing it.  I, like so many, am capable of hitting the weights (and the bag) a little too hard sometimes in an over-zealous fit of fitness rage.  That leads to injuries.  Currently, mine are minor and will heal themselves.  The usual remedy is to take a little time off.  Lately, I’ve been working out-of-town much of the week so my gym time is limited.  This has led to the interesting junction of over-doing it and under-doing it at the same time.  Not being able to work out as planned leads to a desire to go extra hard when time allows.  This, in turn, aggravates existing injuries.  It also exposes weaknesses incurred from taking time off.  Odd.  A true first-world kind of problem.  My patented exercise plan will have a chapter on how to overcome all of this.  I ramble, send money…

I’m still trying to figure out a name for the program.  Any suggestions?  I considered the Batman Workout but I don’t want to get sued.

By the way, should old Perrin really crack and decide to become a part-time vigilante, who should be the role model?  Batman? Or, Captain America?  Those are the two choices…  More later, enjoy the following, qualifying notes!

*Animal rights friends: By “season” I mean the one for hunting down and destroying evil werewolves**, not the cute Yellowstone variety. 😉

**Evil werewolf lovers: now might be a good time to plan for an alternative hobby….
