Minnesota: From Lockdown To Burndown

-and-

Congratulations To The Class Of COVID-19

Ah, another major rewrite in the interests of providing up-to-date coverage of more current events. This column was originally drafted early, as the secondary title suggests, as a commencement address of sorts to the Corona’d Class of Twenty. I had some good wishes and advice in-store, which honestly, would have been largely ignored. (At eighteen I would not have followed most of what I wrote). Anyway, other things happened and are still unfolding. I’ll hold the graduation thoughts for another time, minus a few cogent points, below, and this: Congratulations, kids! We’re proud of you.

You might have heard about some unpleasantness in the Twin Cities and that such was spreading into other areas and states. Let’s discuss that with a little background:

I have plenty to say regarding the lawlessness in Minneapolis (and elsewhere). For now: load the rifles. That, next week, at TPC. I had to shake up the column due to the riots, etc; I was planning a commencement address to the young graduates of the Class of COVID-19. I’ll still have a little advice, tempered by the burning of Minneapolis and by the fact that I know few listen to advice.

But, per the schools, some advice of the usual incoherent sort came from South Carolina via a letter to the editor. Teaching is hard when there is no school! Need more money! You’re too [fill in the rambling blank] to homeschool! Who has no clue, now?

Just not at Bethel U. (MN) where they’re getting rid of them.

A new initiative to reduce or eliminate textbook costs has quickly taken off in Bethel’s College of Adult & Professional Studies, improving educational accessibility and affordability for hundreds of students. Initially a collaboration between the Bethel University Library and the Office of Academic Affairs, the Zero Cost Course Resources Initiative aligns with a national trend in higher education to help make courses more affordable.

Funded by a two-year Strategic Growth Award grant from the Bethel University Foundation, the initiative replaces traditional textbooks with Open Educational Resources (OER) and eResources from the Bethel University Library. Faculty and staff launched a pilot run with the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees in summer 2018, and the B.A. in Human Services, B.A. in Psychology, Bethel Distinctives courses, and the graduate-level International Baccalaureate Certificate in Teaching and Learning have since followed suit. All are set to offer entirely free course resources by spring 2020, saving students approximately $1,300 per year in textbook costs.

A cost-saving measure! And, why not? At Bethel, the annual tuition is $37,000 – all for a solid “F” rating, much like Harvard, on the 2019 ACTA index.

Remember college textbooks? They were expensive, even way back when. $100 new, to be resold after the course was over for $10-15. I get the money angle. There is a better way to teach most subjects, using original sources and the Great Book program that a few of the A-schools still use. I doubt that’s going to be the case at Bethel.

OER? Sounds like more U of BS.

Vox Day on the further slide – if that’s possible – of what passes for education in Minnesota:

Forget the issue of prayer in the public schools. Conservatives can’t even keep perverts, Planned Parenthood, and pedos out of them:

On Tuesday, April 23, 2019, Minnesota House Democrats voted in favor of including pornography and sexual perversions as part of the Minnesota House Education Omnibus Bill, HF2400.

The Minnesota Child Protection League (CPL) tried to warn parents and stakeholders to call their legislators to urge them to remove Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE) from the 258-page House Education Omnibus bill HF2400 before it was debated on last Tuesday. Of course, the bill was debated two days after Easter Sunday, when parents were distracted and just getting the kiddos back to school after the holiday.

Planned Parenthood will provide the CSE curriculum for Minnesota public schools and has lobbied hard for this legislation. The Guttmacher Institute, which was started in 1968 as a part of Planned Parenthood, is expected to be developing the state model policy, according to StopCSE.org, a website to educate parents on the harmful effects of CSE.

At the center of the CSE curriculum debate is a book called, “It’s Perfectly Normal” which is endorsed by Planned Parenthood and boasts of “more than one million copies in print”. The book contains explicit drawings of the male and female anatomy and covers such topics as vaginal, oral and anal sex, homosexuality and abortion which will be taught to elementary students as part of CSE. “It’s Perfectly Normal” was written in 1995 by Robie Harris, who was a member of Planned Parenthood’s National Board of Advocates. A new edition of the book states it is “updated for the 21st century” on the cover.

Notice the inevitable equalitarian propaganda in the “educational” pictures. The lesson, as always, is this: homeschool or die.

Propaganda is all that’s left. Odds are, if it’s not in pictures, then the kids won’t get it. Rotten to the common core.

You get what you elect, America, Minnesota.

Surprise, surprise! “Representative” Ilhan Omar (D-Somalia) supports(ed) ISIS:

Embattled congressional freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., once asked a judge to show leniency toward a group of Minnesota men accused of trying to join the Islamic State terror group.

“The best deterrent to fanaticism is a system of compassion,” she wrote at the time. “We must alter our attitude and approach; if we truly want to effect change, we should refocus our efforts on inclusion and rehabilitation.”

Unless that is, one wants inclusion in America of actual Americans. When it comes to our home team, naturally, she isn’t as tolerant:

“The [Covington, KY] boys were protesting a woman’s right to choose & yelled ‘it’s not rape if you enjoy it’ … They were taunting 5 Black men before they surrounded Phillips and led racist chants … Sandmann’s family hired a right wing PR firm to write his non-apology.” – deleted Tweet

Many years from now, after the war, we’ll look back on this and laugh.

Emanuel Celler’s Daycare, Where Fraud Meets Fraud

They say, “follow the money.” If one follows it out of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, it ends up in Somalia, in the hands of terrorists. $100 Million per year.

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) – For five months, Fox 9 has been investigating what appears to be rampant fraud in a massive state program.

This fraud is suspected of costing Minnesota taxpayers as much as $100 million a year.

The Fox 9 Investigators reporting is based on public records and nearly a dozen government sources who have direct knowledge of what is happening.

These sources have a deep fear, and there is evidence to support their concerns, that some of that public money is ending up in the hands of terrorists.

The old Minnesotans work hard, make money, and pay the taxes. The taxes support so many wonderful programs. The new “Minnesotans” run welfare and daycare scams to siphon money out of those terrific programs. They send that money back to their real homes, including Somalia, where their real allegiance resides (and where they should too). There, at home, a good deal of the cash is intercepted by groups like al Shabaab. Al Shabaab helps create more “refugees” bound for places like MN. A wonderful cycle.

The FOX team is very concerned about the fraud at the fake daycare centers. They should be. They should also worry about the rampant fraud in the existence of these socialist, terror-supporting programs and the taxes that feed them.

Here’s the deal: two scenarios at work:

  • You, Mr. and Mrs. MN, work hard and make money. A man with a gun steals some of that money. The robber then offers it to “the needy.”
  • “The needy” come right along and take all they can.

Which of the above scenarios is the greater fraud?

We are reliably informed that the new “Minnesotans,” like so many other migrants, are a net benefit to the economy. They no doubt do wonders for the al Shabaab economy (likely heavy in AKs, RPGs, cigarettes, dope, slaves, Toyota pickups, and maybe not so much soap).

Exactly as it should be at this late hour and exactly as envisioned by a little cretin, circa 1965. That Act may prove to be the greatest fraud of all.
