It all started on June 24, 2012.
The show, of course, really took off four days later. Then it subsided for a short break. Several short breaks later, I kicked it into overdrive, now running in the seventh year of consistent, daily work. Over 4,000 posts later, here we are. As I have hinted at, the volume may decrease going forward – but only to concentrate on greater quality. And selling books, coffee, and prepperware.
Thanks for doing what you do and I’ll see you in the next exciting post!
That’s right! The ninth anniversary of this very blog you’re reading right now is but one month away. Remember the original intro post?
Welcome to the mad ravings of Perrin Lovett!
I am proud to present my new blog. Let’s see how it develops. More to come soon!
I was proud and I still am. A LOT developed. More, much more did come. It’s been a blast and a half! But…
Yeah. The whole point of this site was and is to get across my thoughts on preserving freedom and Western Civilization. An in toto review of this past near-decade would indicate total failure regarding that point. This is not the end of the blog. Rather, this is notice that, between the ninth and tenth anniversaries, things will probably change. You’ll know it, etc. I suspect that the daily blogging will subside while the weekly columns continue, perhaps growing. And I would dearly love to concentrate more on fiction. And selling coffee.
Anyway, for now, the ride continues. As always, thanks for partaking. Happy Sunday.
Four-thousand posts later, here we are!
It was quite the ride.
No. 1,000 came along in January 2017.
2,000 landed in November 2018.
We hit 3,000 about 14 months ago.
Yes, the postings are generally accelerating. Will 2021 also see the big 5K? Probably not, but one never knows. All we can be sure of is that the show will roll on tomorrow! There’s already a little something scheduled.
Thanks for coming along.
As expected, the Christmas slowdown took some of the recent steam out of the lively traffic around here. Still, this month is the best December in at least three years. And 2020, as odd a year as it’s been, has been considerably better than 2019. I owe it all to you, dear readers. Tomorrow, we commence the tenth calendar year of operations around here with our ninth anniversary coming along in June! Next month should be fun and some milestones are not far away beyond it. Stay tuned. Thanks, all. Happy New Year’s Eve! -Perrin
I need to check, but November of 2020 may be the best traffic month at the blog since 2017 – certainly the best for the past 2.5 years. I believe this is the seventh straight month of steady increase and that coming during the most pitiful of years. Many thanks! As a reward, and if you’re social media-minded, I offer you:
Yes, that’s as recently seen on the sidebar. Come over and join us, if you’re a prepper, the more right-leaning the better. Not a single control freak, commie, loser SJW will be allowed. It’s social media “for us.” (And, yeah, I’ll probably wash out in a month or two…). For now, look for The Possum!
More fantastic ravings dead ahead in December! -Perrin
I never ask anything of you
cheapskates beloved readers. However, tomorrow is the end of the month and we’re really close to a traffic record of sorts (five visitors, two views…), so kindly lend a hand. Get to clicking and maybe spread the word with a few links here and there. Then, repeat that next month and forever. Thanks. P
At some point, for a small price(?), there’ll be a little something (else) in it for you:
Hello and welcome to our eighth anniversary here at this highly respected web log. The obligatory linking of the original post:
Yes, I was so proud that I did one more entry and then took eight months off, followed by two years of intermittent attention. The stride was found and hit hard in 2015. But, it did develop eventually.
This year has been a little … what’s the word? A little slow. Then again, this is the year that America went utterly insane, right? It’s funny, but January and February (especially January) were strong. Then, the bottom fell out, reaching a low in April and May. With other projects working to one degree or another, with other plans floating around, and with the fiction calling louder every day, there came a brief moment when I considered halting new posts and possibly even scraping the whole thing. But…
I’m still kind of proud of this little corner of the web. Things continue to develop. And, I foresee yet more to come. My outside columns will continue and hopefully I’ll have some major news about that part later in the summer!
Thanks for being along for the ride. More mad ravings dead ahead.
Jeśli potrafisz przeczytać to zdanie i jesteś w ojczyźnie, czy jest możliwy azyl polityczny? Blog w zestawie?
3,000! THREE THOUSAND posts since the blog began back in 2012. I’ve been running a little hard lately. In the near term, I may slow just a hair to concentrate on some projects, but folks, we’re only just warming up, here.
This report came in on Monday:
4 Million words in 20.5 months. That’s a little high – it’s probable that the total accounts for many articles, etc. that were checked at least twice. Still, I’d estimate it’s really more like 2 Million, or roughly 97,500 per month, 3,200 words a day. That’s about right. I average in the top 2-3% of users for volume and for unique words. Mistakes too, as many of you know.
Anyway, this is 3,000. No. 2,999 was about Amazon publishing:
Know idea what’s up next. Rest assured, you will read it here. More to come!
And, Thank You, All! – P
