To no-one’s surprise, UK conservatives cuck and bow to hollow pressure, in re one of their own meeting with real right-wingers.

The UK Conservative Party forced one of their MPs into a groveling apology after BuzzFeed complained that he had attended a conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Italy’s Matteo Salvini.

Yes, really.

MP Daniel Kawczynski spoke at the National Conservatism Conference in Rome at an event entitled “God, Honor, Country: President Ronald Reagan, Pope John Paul II, and the Freedom of Nations.”

No God, no honor, no country. They conserve nothing.

The DNC hates Bernie, it’s as simple as that. Robbed in 2016, it’s happening to him again in 2020. The clown show in Iowa:

“They are matching the paper worksheets by hand,” an adviser to one of the top tier campaigns said. The party said only 35 percent of the results were in and none of it was yet verified. “They literally have no verified results right now so we won’t know anything until sometime Tuesday.”

“We have no sense when results might come in,” said Anita Dunn, a senior adviser to Biden. “We are, as other campaigns are, very concerned with what they might release: the alignment numbers are not adding up.”

“It’s a total meltdown,” she added.

They can’t count the votes until after they manufacture them. Bernie, however, released some preliminary info:

ujWo7Hh

About the only thing of real interest is a small number at the bottom. There are 9 honest Democrats in Iowa, as indicated by the number still supporting, at the end of the circus, their only candidate dangerous to Trump.

I still think it’s going to be Warren. Yeah, they may broker the convention, with a possible dark horse by Hills or Michelle, but so what? It’s just as likely that Bernie would keep running as an independent, taking 1/3rd of Democrat voters with him. Trump might not even have to do debates or even campaign beyond a simple Tweet, “Please re-elect me. Thanks.”

Making Democracy Safe for Dissent

A new poll finds that a majority of the world’s people are tired of the tyranny of democracy.

The world is unhappier with democracy than ever, new research has claimed.

In a report published Wednesday, researchers from Cambridge University analyzed the political sentiment of more than 4 million people, using data from survey projects that covered 154 countries between 1995 and 2020.

The proportion of people who said they were dissatisfied with democracy over the last year hit 57.5%, according to the report, with researchers saying 2019 marked “the highest level of democratic discontent” on record.

Authors noted that over the last 25 years, the number of individuals dissatisfied with democratic politics around the world rose from a third to more than half.

Democracy is self-abuse, the collective belief in the wisdom of selfish and stupid individuals. And, my money says the selfishness part is what’s largely behind the polling: people want the free stuff faster than their votes can provide it. This is all good and bad. Ever seeking a better tyrant, the people will open themselves to whatever Greta, Bloomberg, or anyone else says or promises. The sheep want better grass.

Who Rules America?

By Greg Felton

A government, whatever its nature, rules as an imperial power over its people. The surest way to exercise this control is to prop up the illusion that it acts in the public interest. Paul Craig Roberts and Alvin Rabushka spelled out this salient fact in the March 1973 issue of Public Choice, in their article “A Diagrammatic Exposition of an Economic Theory of Imperialism,” and what they wrote is no less relevant today.

The act of voting is one of the props that sustains the delusion of self-rule. People do vote, but the candidates are decided by the oligarchy of organized interest groups. This is also the conclusion of a 2014 study by Princeton University professors Martin Gilens and Benjamin I. Page about the extent to which U.S. government policy reflects public preferences. Gilens and Page found that voters are, to all intents and purposes, irrelevant to their own “democratic” government:

“[The] preferences of the average American appear to have only a minuscule, near-zero, statistically non-significant impact upon public policy . . . Moreover, because of the strong status quo bias built into the U.S. political system, even when fairly large majorities of Americans favor policy change, they generally do not get it” (Perspectives on Politics, Vol. 12, No. 3, pp. 575, 76).

Instead of representing the common interest of the people, government answers to organized interest groups. Gilens and Page cite the dominance over policy of special interests who use public policy to serve their interests rather than the public’s. We see the effects of this plutocracy in the sharp rise in the inequality of income and wealth, a gap which has grown into a chasm.

…

Your vote, as I have explained before, does not count in the overall scheme and in fact, sometimes isn’t counted even numerically. Catch the part about the PATRIOT Act being drafted BEFORE 9/11 and by the guy who chaired the 9/11 sham commission? All an act and a ruse; when you vote along, you go along.

January BREXIT?

Happy first day of winter 2020. Roll, Boris, roll.

Britain took a big step towards the European Union exit door on Friday when lawmakers gave preliminary approval to Conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s EU divorce bill in a decisive vote that broke years of political deadlock over Brexit.

The House of Commons, with its Conservative ranks swollen after Johnson’s election victory last week, voted 358-234 for the Withdrawal Agreement Bill, clearing the way for the U.K. to leave the European Union next month.

Friday’s vote was a moment of triumph for Johnson, who won a commanding parliamentary majority in last week’s general election on a promise to end more than three years of political gridlock and lead Britain out of the European Union on Jan. 31.

May this be the final forty days in the great wait.

I suspected, still suspect, and have suggested to some friends (sorry if I left the readers out) that the DNC will release certain pictures in the event that Mayor Pete becomes a threat to Pocohantas. However, I didn’t think it would be a picture of him ringing a Salvation Army bell. But that appears to be a major crime in the bloodshot eyes of the LGVP&C brigade.

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg is facing criticism online from some members of the LGBTQ+ community and gay rights advocates after images of the South Bend, Ind., mayor volunteering with the Salvation Army resurfaced online Tuesday.

LGBTQ+ publication Out published a story Tuesday with some of the critical tweets, which spurred more pushback from some activists who called out the Democrat for volunteering with an organization that has a history of opposing gay rights.

“I know the photos are two years old, but still, I can’t help but wonder if Mayor Pete just looks at what LGBTQ activists have been working on for years and then chooses to spite it (e.g. Salvation Army, Chick-fil-A, queer media in general, etc.),” tweeted Zach Ford, press secretary for the Alliance for Justice, with a link to the Out story.

They really hate each other, maybe more than they hate us. I think the “queer media” reference regards anything on TeeVee, da moovees, or any mainstream publication. And, the “etc.” of course encompasses the primary goals of pedophilia and cannibalism. I trust  OTHER pictures might be on standby somewhere if needed.

Easy Out for Dems?

Not a bad idea. Therefore, the Dems probably won’t go for it.

Censure would allow the Democrats to move on: Obviously, the Speaker wants to send a strong message to her base that she hears their concerns and is acting on them. But every day that Democrats are not talking about health care is a day that they are slowly but steadily losing the election. The media has a limited attention span, and right now impeachment is king. While impeachment might excite the partisan bases on both sides of the aisle, to the vast middle that isn’t paying attention to the latest revelations that are dripping forth on the front pages of The New York Times, this is time not well spent making the case for their reelections.

Censure would be better for the country than impeachment: What the president did with his Ukrainian call is clearly not impeachable. But it wasn’t a perfect call either. We all know that partisan Democrats have wanted Trump removed from office since the very day he entered it and have come up with a variety of theories as to why he should be thrown out, from invoking the 25th Amendment to the current impeachment imbroglio.

But the American people, in their collective wisdom, through a process designed by the Constitution, put him there, and they have the right to have their voices heard to replace him, should they decide that is the correct path to pursue. Short-circuiting the people is a very bad precedent and would needlessly divide the country for generations.

In 1998, some congressional Republicans and Democrats floated censure as a possible alternative to impeachment and when I worked for the House GOP Leadership, I thought that would have been a more prudent approach.

Part of the challenge with censure is it’s not outlined in the Constitution as a way to punish the president for actions that fall short of high crimes and misdemeanors. And indeed, the only president to be clearly censured by the Congress was Trump’s hero, Andrew Jackson. He was censured by the Senate because he defunded the Second Bank of the United States. That censure was later expunged from the record by Jackson’s Whig allies late in his second term in office.

I would vote against censure of this president, if I were in either the House or the Senate, because I think this has been a partisan exercise not worthy of the Congress. But if I were a congressional Democrat, I would prefer censure to impeachment. Impeachment would be bad for the country but probably good for the president. Censure wouldn’t be nearly as bad for the country nor nearly as good for the president.

But, they no more want to move on than the people have that collective wisdom. This all assumes, of course, that the House goes ahead with the impeachment charade – it’s already losing steam. And, again, it won’t help them with 2020.

The angry mustache suggests that America’s enemies are within. Say it isn’t so.

Former Trump administration advisor John Bolton said that the United States’ commitments to national security are “under attack from within” in a tweet Tuesday.

“It probably goes without saying, that our country’s commitment to our national security priorities is under attack from within. America is distracted. Our enemies are not,” Bolton wrote.

Yes, we know that. Or, could this be a sign of a change in the neocon stripes?

Elizabeth Warren, politics, shit stupid, taxes

Now pay more. Squaw Warren is on the warpath, again, against those freeloading billionaires.

“Here’s the thing: Doing the wealth tax is not about punishing anyone,” Warren said. “It’s about saying ‘you built something great in this country, good for you. But you did it using workers all of us helped pay to educate. You did it getting all of your goods on roads and bridges all of us help pay for. You did it protected by police and firefighters all of us help pay the salaries for. So when you make it, you make it really big, you make the top 10th of 1% big, pitch in $0.02 so everybody else gets a chance to make it.’”

However, not everyone else on the stage echoed that sentiment. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) described the proposed wealth tax as “cumbersome.”

We all know that Scrooge McDuck just swims around in his money, like all rich folks. That needs to stop. Thanks, EW! Come on, Booker! Get on the 158%(!) tax train already.

Impotent, Powerless, and Stupid: the GOP in 2019

No wonder the Groypers are giving the establishment cucks fits. PCR on the rot in the GOP:

When you start thinking along these lines other puzzling questions come to mind. For example, why does the leadership of the Democratic Party seem to be in the hands of feminists and people of color on one side and crooks like Joe Biden on the other. What holds a party this naturtally divided together?

Why does an anti-white odor emanate from the Democratic Party, especially an anti-white heterosexual male ordor? Why are all of Epstein’s pedophile clients Democrats? Has the Democratic Party become the party of immigrant-invaders and sexual perverts?

Republicans come across as impotent, powerless, and stupid. They have stood there impotently while two of their more effective fundraisers and political advisers, Paul Manafort and Roger Stone, were framed in broad daylight by the utterly corrupt Russiagate special prosecutor Robert Mueller and sentenced to prison. This never happens to Democrats. Only to Republicans. The Epstein case has disappeared.

Mueller was empowered to investigate Trump’s cooperation with Russian influence on his election. No one gave Mueller the task of investigating the long ago and unrelated financial affairs of Manafort and Stone.

Trump with the weakest response against an impeachment devoid of any evience is afraid to pardon Mueller’s victims, people convicted of offenses that are unrelated to the Russiagate investigation. The entire purpose of the false convictions of Manafort and Stone is to prove that Republicans are too scared to protect their own. Mueller’s purpose was to break-up the ranks of Trump supporters and turn them against one another. Once one runs for the exit, the rest follow.

Stupid is as Republican does, but things trend ridiculous. It will be instructive (or would be) to the GOP herd when Trump wins 2020 handily, even as they lose ground. It would be, but the stupid thing. A party no more?
