Big Social Spying on Children

It’s hardly a surprise. Neither is the utter inaction from “your” elected officials. Nor is the insouciance of the American Sheeple. But, spy they do.

A coalition of 19 consumer and privacy groups plans to file a complaint Thursday alleging that Amazon’s Echo Dot Kids Edition is illegally collecting voice recordings and other identifying information on users under 13 and that the system’s parental controls are flawed.

The complaint says that the Echo Dot Kids Edition – a colorful, youth-oriented version of Amazon’s popular “smart speaker” systems that allow users to ask questions, play music or control thermostats with voice commands – violates the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, known as COPPA. The 1998 law sharply limits what data companies can collect without permission from parents.

The 98-page complaint is the latest in a series by consumer and privacy groups urging the Federal Trade Commission to intensify its enforcement of how leading technology companies treat children and their personal data. The Institute for Public Representation at Georgetown University Law Center served as counsel to the groups on the complaint.

“It is incredibly important not only that Amazon fix these problems but that the FTC enforce COPPA,” said Josh Golin, executive director of the Campaign for a Commercial Free Childhood, an advocacy group based in Boston and the lead complainant. “What we need is a COPPA cop on the beat.”

Mea COPPA. Waiting for that government beat cop is going to be a long wait. Take matters into your own hands; get your kids off the social dragnets.

Laura Loomer Upset Over Social Bans

She’s very upset about being kicked off Twitter, Faceberg, and Instachirp for being a normal person.

Laura Loomer was first banned from Twitter for exposing Democrat Ilhan Omar as an anti-Semite. Laura was correct, as we all know today, but she got banned anyway. Laura seeks out and confronts Democrats on the topics of the day. She was banned for this.

On Wednesday Laura Loomer broke down in tears during a live TV interview.

Laura Loomer made an emotional plea for Republicans to take action against social media censorship.

Loomer appeared on the ‘Alex Jones Show’ to call on Republicans in Congress and President Trump to take legal action against the far-left tech companies censorship of conservatives and Trump supporters:

I confronted Congress when Jack Dorsey was testifying in September, and I begged President Trump, I begged him to do something before it was too late.  [Republicans] mocked me and called me crazy, but what are they doing?  I wanna know what people are actually going to do!

Loomer added that her life has been completely “ruined” because she has been banned from nearly every social media platform:

My life is ruined! Does anybody understand how ruined my life is?! I’m sick of it! I don’t want to listen to people tell me that I’m a conspiracy theorist.  They don’t know what it’s like to be me! And I’m sick of it. I’m fighting harder than most conservatives. I’m fighting harder than anybody and I’m being destroyed and they mock me. These people don’t understand like my life is unlivable at this point in time.  Like what is the point?

Facebook and Instagram recently banned Laura Loomer and several other prominent conservatives.

Still, Republicans in Congress and President Trump have not taken any legal action to stop social media censorship.

The anger and distress is understandable, for her. Still, I’d take these bans gladly and run with them. The social giants have done her a favor. But, let’s look at some of what she said:

“...but what are they doing?  I wanna know what people are actually going to do!

Nothing. They’re doing now all that they will. The testimony sessions are all shams. These people (Zuck and Co.) are pushing regulation – as I’ve explained before – so they can control it. The idiotic, greedy, and useless pols will oblige for a price. They care nothing about Laura or any other (non-donating) natural person.

“I’m fighting harder than most conservatives.”

As do most unborn babies. Conservative conserve nothing. Get used to it and get over them.

Luckily, for Laura, there are a growing number of alternative platforms. She’s now free to use them. So are we.

More on the Total Sickness of a “Nation”

I didn’t even hear about Tuesday’s shooting in CO until I read about it from Vox Day. There’s a reason why they kept this one quiet.

It’s really time to get serious about Atheist Democrat control:

One of the two students who opened fire on a school in Denver has been identified as 18-year-old Devon Erickson. An 18-year-old boy was killed and seven other students were injured when gunfire erupted at STEM School Highlands Ranch on Tuesday afternoon at 1.53pm local time….

The teen’s social media pages indicate that he is an avid guitar player, youth theater actor and registered Democrat who has on occasion expressed disdain for Christians, criticized President Donald Trump and praised former President Barack Obama.

In a post from 2014, Erickson wrote: ‘You know what I hate? All these Christians who hate gays, yet in the bible, it says in Deuteronomy 17:12-13, if someone doesn’t do what their priest tells them to do, they are supposed to die. It has plenty of crazy stuff like that. But all they get out of it is “ewwwwww gays”.’

In 2015 he shared a Facebook post by Occupy Democrats praising Obama, and in 2016 shared a video of TV host Seth Meyers criticizing Trump.

It’s very clear that the most effective way to stop school shootings is ban everyone who is both a) a Democrat and b) an atheist.

From what I gather, “atheist,” here, really means satanist. Anti-Christian hate. And, of course, there’s the gay and trans angle. The utter insanity. There’s a guarantee that both shooters were high as a kite on SSRIs and hormones.

Read the WHOLE STORY (look at the pictures). Then, read THIS STORY. There’s going to be a lot more of this violent madness until the purge comes.

Converse has announced the release of a new line of shoes celebrating LGBT culture alongside a marketing campaign featuring characters of various sexual orientations, including an 11-year-old ‘drag kid’ who goes by the stage name ‘Desmond Is Amazing.’

“We’re happy to launch our Pride Collection, partnering with six individuals connected to the LGBTQ+ community who show the power of expressing one’s true self,” the apparel company tweeted on Monday.

He began to garner attention in 2015 after dancing in the NYC Pride Parade, and amid rising popularity on social media, Napoles was invited to appear on Good Morning America, where he danced for the audience and was paid a visit from three adult drag queens.

In late 2018, disturbing video footage surfaced of Desmond performing at gay bars in Brooklyn and San Francisco, while grown men threw bills at him, and shortly afterwards, journalists discovered Desmond had appeared in a interview with infamous 90s “club kid” Michael Alig, who had spent 17 years in jail for the killing and dismemberment of a fellow clubber and drug dealer.

“On Alig’s show ‘Pee-ew!’ 10-year-old Desmond sat between Alig and Alig’s fellow ‘Club Kid’ Ernie Glam, making stilted conversation about the child’s favorite television shows, ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ and ‘Dragula,’” LifeSite reports. “Over their heads was a painting of a cartoon child skipping rope over the word ‘Rohypnol.’ Rohypnol is a well-known date rape drug often used to incapacitate victims marked for sexual assault.”

Converse is now an enemy of the free people, regard them as such. And, this abused boy will most likely kill someone when he grows and realizes how he’s been used. And, there’s no telling if he’ll only stop with the guilty parties. CPS investigated his parents after the gay club show and … found no wrongdoing. Hell, they’ll probably try to make this mandatory in the future.

What they don’t want in this age of anything goes, is normal, healthy sex. You know, the kind between a man and a woman that produces a baby. All they get out of it is “ewwwwww breeders.” They equate pregnancy and the unborn child with cancer or a parasite.

None of this will end well for anyone. There’s a reason for Paul’s “harsh” suggestions as to the proper treatment of degenerates. Evil isn’t safe for the innocent, for society, nor for the evil-doers. Won’t. End. Well.

Spot a Toad in a School

This is not a tactic endorsement but, rather, a recommendation for a little reading. I’m nominally aware of the Spotted Toad and his career. I owe my knowledge of his new book to Steve Sailer.

While Toad abstains from citing data in his new self-published book, his Thoreauvian reminiscences are informed by the latest findings on genes and IQ, which makes for a subtle and unusual literary combination. Most schoolteachers would rather not think about 21st-century intelligence science, but Spotted Toad can’t ever stop thinking.

The book is 13 Ways of Going on a Field Trip: Stories about Teaching and Learning. It’s $.99 on Kindle, $4.44 for the paperback. Have a look, if you will; I have not read it yet.

It’s about teaching, anecdotes more than statistics. I’m sensing entertainment with a greater message. I understand that it stems from one of the great education fads of this century – Teach for America. A 5-star Amazon review:

Fascinating stories of what a young teacher encountered in New York City schools, mixed in with reflections drawn from the teacher’s own youth and experiences and from his reading. All in all (as my daughter’s fifth grade teacher used to tell the class to end their 3 or 5 paragraph essays), a wonderful read.

Hop … on over.

A Prescription for Societal Disaster

Amerikans must be the healthiest people in history as they take an insane amount of medication.

Nearly half of our citizens (residents, whatever) are on at least one type of legal dope. Most of it is for nebulous pain, mental illness, and fat-related lifestyle choices.

But, even if you have a doctor’s note, be very careful at Disney:

Disney World may be the most magical place on Earth, but it turned into a legal nightmare for a great-grandmother with arthritis.

A 69-year-old woman was arrested at a Disney World checkpoint when an Orange County Deputy found CBD oil in her purse. She then spent 12 hours behind bars before being released on a $2,000 bond.

Hester Jordan Burkhalter, a great-grandmother from North Carolina, began using CBD oil for her arthritis after her doctor recommended it, Fox 35 in Orlando reported. She even had a note from the medical professional in her purse at the time of arrest, but it didn’t matter.

In my book, Disney is always a nightmare, best avoided entirely. Better avoid the cops too. In turn, the cops should probably avoid the peeps, given the rapid rise of medieval diseases.

The LAPD released the following statement Tuesday:

“The health, safety, and well-being of our Los Angeles Police Department officers is critical and we are ensuring the officers exposed to this disease are cared for. First responders throughout the region and especially here in Los Angeles are constantly responding to incidents that put them at risk of potential exposure to various diseases, and that’s why the Department takes this incident very seriously. All of the work areas that may have been exposed have been disinfected.”

Steve Gordon of the L.A. Police Protective League confirmed to CBSLA that it was a homeless transient who came into contact with officers at the station.

Gordon was blunt when asked about the problems officers face when dealing with the homeless population.

“Our officers are being put in very hazardous conditions, with the addiction to drugs, the homeless encampments, the feces, the needles, everything throughout these encampments,” said Gordon. “There’s only one thing that these cameras can’t catch and that is the smell and the vile conditions in which some of these addicted people live in.”

That’s the smell and condition of a society disintegrating.

And, all of this comes during, what we’re told night and day, are the best economic times in human history. There’s a sickness, more than one kind, out there.

No Border, No Nation

The flood pours in.

The government is so overwhelmed by the border surge that it’s already released 168,000 illegal immigrant family members directly into communities, the government said Wednesday.

An ICE official made the revelation at a Senate hearing where she and other top immigration officials pleaded with Congress to do something to stop the surge of migrants that’s overwhelming the system.

April set new records, with the Border Patrol nabbing more than 58,000 illegal immigrants traveling as families in that month alone.

That was part of more than 109,000 illegal immigrants nabbed border wide, including at or between the ports of entry.

And for the first time in history, nearly half of the adults arriving are bringing children with them, looking to take advantage of the loopholes in U.S. policy that they believe — usually correctly — will earn them a foothold in the U.S.

Was releasing them back to where they came from not possible? And, why, how were they allowed in, in the first place?

Oh, look! It’s Iran or something.

Green and Pinks Return?

Gotta admit that these look pretty good.

The United States Army wanted a spiffy new service uniform, one that would stand out in a tough recruiting environment and polish the Army’s image after a generation of grinding and divisive wars.

So it turned the clock back. Way back.

It chose a new uniform that looks almost exactly like the old green gabardine wool field coat and khaki trousers that officers wore in World War II. Probably not by coincidence, that’s what the Army was wearing the last time the nation celebrated total victory in a major war.

Will they help secure the border?

Ron Paul on Trump, Venezuela, and the Deep, Crazy State

Tags

, , , , ,

I haven’t covered much by Dr.Paul lately – my fault. He’s still out there and still demonstrating what a mistake it was not to elect him in 2008.

Is President Trump about to invade Venezuela? His advisors keep telling us in ever-stronger terms that “all options are on the table” and that US military intervention to restore Venezuela’s constitution “may be necessary.” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was on the Sunday news programs to claim that President Trump could launch a military attack against Venezuela without Congress’s approval.

Pompeo said that, “[t]he president has his full range of Article II authorities and I’m very confident that any action we took in Venezuela would be lawful.” The man who bragged recently about his lying, cheating, and stealing, is giving plenty of evidence to back his claim.

The president has no Constitutional authority to start a war with Venezuela or any other country that has not attacked or credibly threatened the United States without Congressional approval. It is that simple.

How ironic that Pompeo and the rest of the neocons in the Trump Administration are ready to attack Venezuela to “restore their constitution” but they could not care less about our own Constitution!

While Washington has been paralyzed for two years over disproven claims that the Russians meddled in our elections to elect Trump, how hypocritical that Washington does not even hesitate to endorse the actual overturning of elections overseas!

The nuts will happily settle for Iran if Venezuela isn’t available.

SJWs Attack Western Civilization – from TPC

Wherein Perrin Rides to the Rescue of Classical Antiquity

Earlier this year, Mary Frances Williams, Ph.D., was ignobly booted from the annual convention of something called the Society for Classical Studies (SCS). Her offense was offending the easily offended and downright offensive social justice warriors of the SCS. Their mission is to do to classical studies what SJWs do to anything – destroy it. Dr. William’s mission was to simply ask a few questions and make a few points – about the SJWs’ mission, about them, and about saving the worthy institution of the classics.
The destructive social justice afoot involves the following: boosting, without regard to merit, the tenure of women (except women like Williams), the mentally unstable, and persons of color; eliminating Latin (presumably Greek too); silencing white male academics, and, eventually; completely eliminating all reference to and knowledge of anything to do with ancient Greece and Rome. There’s a powerful reason behind this, beyond making assorted malcontented mid-wits happy with their “scholarship.”
The end-game is the destruction of Western Civilization. Western Civ is supported by three primary pillars – Christianity, Greco-Roman legal traditions, and the European nation-state (thank you, again, for the trinitarian summary, Vox Day). Classical studies directly relate to the Greco-Roman while indirectly touching on the other two. Take away one and the whole thing falls apart. The SJWs want to knock out all three if possible. They are not the West. They say so.
Whilst rudely, stupidly interrupting Dr. Williams’s protestations for higher society, one Sarah Bond, of the University of Iowa classics department, bluntly stated: “We are not Western Civilization!”

Please deport this enemy combatant before he has the chance to act.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), who recently promised to “bring a fight to the NRA like they have never ever seen before,” on Monday morning introduced a sweeping gun-violence prevention plan that centers around a national gun-licensing program, the most comprehensive and far-reaching of any candidate in the Democratic presidential field.

“My plan to address gun violence is simple—we will make it harder for people who should not have a gun to get one,” Booker said in a statement, pledging to take executive action on the first day of his desired presidency.

“As president, we will make commonsense changes to our gun laws such as requiring a license to purchase a gun that includes universal background checks, banning assault weapons, and closing the loopholes that allow domestic abusers and people on terrorist watch lists to get their hands on a gun,” he continued. “I am sick and tired of hearing thoughts and prayers for the communities that have been shattered by gun violence—it is time for bold action.”

It is time for bold action. Mr. Trump, get his ass outta here. He’s fired. It’s bold but there is a precedent. Use it. I hear Canada is a good dumping ground.
