Ann Coulter once again sheds a little truth on the lies of “history,” this time defending Thomas Jefferson.

In response to DNA proof that only one of Hemings’ children was related to any Jefferson male — and her firstborn son was definitely NOT fathered by any Jefferson — the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, the Monticello Association and the National Genealogical Society promptly announced their official positions: Thomas Jefferson fathered all six of Hemings’ children! Guided tours of Monticello today include the provably false information that Jefferson fathered all of Hemings’ children.

So now you, at least, know the truth — not that it matters in the slightest. Happy Fourth of July!

If recent history is a guide to historiography, “historians” will use Coulter’s column to “prove” TJ raped a stripper…

Staying True to Our Cause

Yesterday, in front of the statute of Lincoln the tyrant, and before a throng of supporters, President Trump rallied a disputable people to continue a questionable cause.

President Donald Trump celebrated the story of America as “the greatest political journey in human history” in a Fourth of July commemoration before a soggy but cheering crowd of spectators, many of them invited, on the grounds of the Lincoln Memorial. Supporters welcomed his tribute to the U.S. military while protesters assailed him for putting himself center stage on a holiday devoted to unity.

As rain fell on him, Trump called on Americans to “stay true to our cause” during a program that adhered to patriotic themes and hailed an eclectic mix of history’s heroes, from the armed forces, space, civil rights and other endeavors of American life.

Americans (60% of the population by the most optimistic count, 10% by the strictest) are to continue what cause? The continued numeric shrinking? Open borders? Usury and sodomy? Israel first? What?

Some fun reading for the day.

Only A Dictator Can Save America

*
Happy Independence Day and/or Week, Heritage Crew! Two hundred-forty-three years ago, our forebears began a nearly insurmountable struggle to throw off the rule of (what some of them deemed) a Tyrant. Today, their Descendants are in need of another.

*

In last year’s column, we examined some of the historical curiosities leading up to 1776 and their aftermath, briefly flipping through the long decline, and finishing with a look towards the looming future. Here, I thought it might be nice to explore any chance of a reprieve, however unlikely, and a return to some earlier, more AMERICAN version of America. (I’d pick the period of the Confederation (1781 – 1789), or, if that’s not possible, of the Republic (1789 – 1861)).

*

In 1789, the free People of the Sovereign States committed an error in birthing a strong central government. It proved too powerful, arresting the independence of the States during the early 1860s, and totally subjugating them in 1913. At some point during the early Twentieth Century, the American Empire morphed into the United States Empire. That latter polity, under which we currently suffer, nears its predictable end; it currently collapses at free fall speed. Even now, wicked, useless elites scramble to suck out what value remains, while their scavenger hordes descend upon the rotting shell.

Happy National Anniversary, Americans!

America for and of the Americans. Think about it. If this day concerns “the United States,” then what’s so special about this day? Why not celebrate on March 3rd (1789)? Why then, that year? Why not 1861? Or 1913? 1965? If you don’t understand those questions, or if you can’t tell the difference between America and the US, then this just isn’t your day.

If it is, then Hail Independence and Long Live Freedom!

Know the Target and What’s Behind the Target

Dr. Walter Williams correctly notices that the brainwashed are bitching about things that they know nothing of.

Western civilization was founded on a set of philosophies that focus strongly on the sanctity of individuals and their power of logic and reason. This belief led to a desire to trust things that could be proven to be true or legitimate, from government to science. Judeo-Christian morality has formed the basis of most Western notions of ethics and behavioral standards. Thus, the attack on Western civilization must begin with the attack on the church and Christian values, and, just as important, the family unit must be undermined. The reason why the church, Christian values and family are targets of the left is they want people’s loyalty and allegiance to be to the state. The church, Christianity and the family stand in the way. Let’s look at some of the left’s agenda.

Do read on about the left. But first, understand the right’s agenda (of purpose and of oversight). Safely ignore the use of “Judeo-Christian,” which doesn’t exist. Williams means well and is not trying to deceive. But, some are. Before getting to those philosophies, know that the West is: Christian (period), Greco-Roman, and European. Take a one and the house falls; take them all away, as would the ignorant youth and their herders, and you have nothing left at all.

A Warning to Writers

In a world and nation where reading goes by the wayside, it’s nice that sometimes a few writers poke their heads in here. Hey, y’all! Read this about some 1984ish changes to Word.

I’ve been a writer for thirty years. I have over two hundred thousand MS Word docs on my computer. But now, I’m converting all those files to a different word processor.

I don’t want to do it. But I have no choice. MS Word — the default application for novelists, poets, journalists and playwrights — has just become Big Brother. No serious writer can use it anymore.

The problem: Microsoft now “offers” an AI tool designed to “improve” my writing. For example, if I type, “We need some fresh blood around here,” Word now changes that phrase to “We must hire some qualified employees.” Or, if I type the word “waitress,” Word now changes it to “waitperson.” (see HERE and HERE and HERE.)

We’ll assume that it converts “Robert E. Lee” to “Satan.” I haven’t used Word in years, before being a WordPerfect fan. That too got a little tedious. Now, like so many I’m either directly in the editing side of WP or – and, yeah, really stupid – using Gdocs. Who knows how much longer any of the platforms will be safe.

I’m not ready to revert to a manual typewriter, though I really am open to the idea. More likely, in the near future, I’ll hard set something like Scrivener on a dumb device or get a restored Tandy running AmiPro. The conversion and publication thingies are a little more complicated with those options, but there are viable workarounds.

Anyway, wordsmiths beware.

Independence … From Buying Power

Fifty years of decline.

The keys to understanding the concealed crisis of decline are purchasing power relative to wages/earnings–how many goods and services can wages buy? For the average American household, wages have risen modestly while the purchasing power of those wages has plummeted.

Furthermore, the quality of goods and services has in many cases declined sharply, so that even if prices have dropped, what you get for your money has fallen even further, effectively reducing the purchasing power of your wages.

Case in point: appliances were once designed and built to last a generation or longer. Refrigerators, washers and dryers lasted for decades. Now the average appliance fails within a few years, and the electronic board–costing roughly a third of the entire appliance price–fails and must be replaced. With labor, the cost of the repair is so high, consumers often send the almost-new appliance to the landfill and buy a new (and soon to fail) appliance.

Net-net, low quality reduces purchasing power even if price has declined.

Then there’s the big-ticket items: rent, housing, college, healthcare. Anecdotally, I’ve been told a young engineer in Silicon Valley could earn $20,000 a year and rent a modest apartment for $200. Now the young engineer makes $100,000 but rent for the modest flat is $2,500 per month: wages rose five-fold but rent rose 12-fold.

This is a staggering loss of purchasing power.

As for college, tens of millions of students completed their university training with zero debt–student loan debt as we understand it today simply didn’t exist because it was unnecessary.

The scarcity value of that college diploma has fallen precipitously over the decades, rendering most degrees that aren’t part of artificial scarcity schemes essentially valueless.

Look at the graphs. Maybe print them out and show them to (sober) friends at the BBQ tomorrow. Maybe vote harder next fall.

“US” Pride? Or American Pride?

July may be the “pride” month that really counts. Then again, too many people don’t even know what they’re proud of or not proud of.

As Americans prepare to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday, their pride in the U.S. has hit its lowest point since Gallup’s first measurement in 2001. While 70% of U.S. adults overall say they are proud to be Americans, this includes fewer than half (45%) who are “extremely” proud, marking the second consecutive year that this reading is below the majority level. Democrats continue to lag far behind Republicans in expressing extreme pride in the U.S.

These findings are explored further with new measurements of the public’s pride in eight aspects of U.S. government and society. American scientific achievements, military and culture/arts engender the most pride, while the U.S. political system and health and welfare system garner the least.

Decreasing Percentage in U.S. Are Extremely Proud to Be American

U.S. adults’ extreme pride in being American has been steadily weakening in recent years, and the current reading, from a June 3-16 Gallup poll, marks the lowest point to date. However, the latest two-percentage-point decline from last year’s 47% is not a statistically significant change.

The highest readings on the measure, 69% and 70%, were between 2002 and 2004, after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, when the American public expressed high levels of patriotism and rallied around the U.S. government. Yet, since the start of George W. Bush’s second presidential term in 2005, fewer than 60% of Americans have expressed extreme pride in being American.

Semantics are fine and dandy. There is a difference. America is the home nation of the AMERICANS, a distinct people with a distinct heritage and culture. The US was merely a collection of American States before it turned into a usurping, omnipresent Empire, replete with NOT Americans. The number of literal Americans in America (or the US) is probably less than 45% of the population at this point. It is certainly below the 70% figure.

The idiots and the BBQs of Thursday aside, where is all this headed? We’ll find out in the next, exciting TPC column.

Trump Can’t Do It

He can’t hold back the flood from the third world and the third world knows it. They just keep coming.

Holton told me he interviewed many migrants on the Colombian side who uniformly told him they decided to go to America, claim asylum, and take advantage of the disarray and laws about which they’ve all heard, from media reporting and those who already made it, that guarantee they will get to live and work for years in the United States, and probably permanently.

“‘Trump wants to keep us out, but he can’t do it,'” Holton said he was repeatedly told in Turbo, Colombia as African migrants were preparing to board boats to the jungle trails for 10-day, smuggler-led wilderness treks into Panama. “They were very clear about that. ‘If I can get in now, I’m going to get while the getting’s good.'”

Holton said everyone knew to go to American “sanctuary cities,” where local authorities won’t cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“They have some level of understanding of what a sanctuary city is. ‘If we can get to one of those they won’t mess with us; They won’t get us out.'”

35,000 more inbound, with maybe a Billion! behind them. And, this during a “state of emergency” declaration by El Trumpo. The time for emergency action came and went some thirty+ years ago. Now at the end, something entirely is needed. I discuss what that is in this week’s TPC column. That’ll be along later in the week.
