CFF Friday Night Special: State of Emergency

Greetings, friends and beloved readers! Happy Friday the Thirteenth! I write to you, tonight, from inside the bunker. Having sealed the ten-ton blast door and having concluded my evening Skype with Emperor Putin, I thought it a dandy idea to cap this week’s fascinating national events of note. (That, and MB dialed it up). Right to it, shall we?

The Coronavirus (no song tonight)

COVID-19. Novel Coronavirus-19. nCoV-19. Wuhan-400. The Bat Soup Crazy Bug. It’s here, there’s fear, and I have no use for it. Check the following for pandemic information:

CSSE MAP – Official World Tally

The New York Times – Alternative Tally

THE CDC – Dedicated Information

Earlier today, there was an intermittent reporting error at the CSSE site concerning a drop in total US infections. I was mildly concerned, though the issue of the total has been corrected. However, following the correction, the US has just shy of 2,000 cases – call it a ten-fold increase in a week or ten days. Not good. It’s also not good that Georgia and Florida are still blanked as of press time. I assume no ill intention behind that. The NYT has GA with 42 cases, none in TPC home territory – yet. Do not assume it will stay that way. Other countries are still seeing steep daily increases and I would expect the US to have 5,000 to 10,000 by this time next week. We’ll play math games with the economy in a second. COVID-19 is infectious and it is lethal. But! The odds of getting it are still low and the odds of dying from it are even lower. For now, health-wise, do me two favors. One, please do not worry excessively or live in fear. Two, take care of yourself. Do that for old Perrin, would ya?

Wash your hands.

Emergency: the Case of the Missing Virus

Coronavirus, emergency, Trump

This morning I checked and there were over 1,700 cases in the US. Then a few minutes ago, it dropped to 1,268. Did all of FL, GA, TX, and CA suddenly, miraculously heal? Or, is this a posting error?

Regardless, we’re in for another announcement around 3 (maybe 4, Trump Time):

The president said he will hold a news conference at 3 p.m. in Washington. Trump spoke Friday with Emmanuel Macron, the French president tweeted, about the pandemic, and agreed to organize a video conference with world leaders on Monday to coordinate research efforts on a vaccine and treatments and work on how to respond to the economic fallout.

Trump is under increasing pressure to act as governors and mayors nationwide step up actions to mitigate the spread, closing schools and canceling public events. Declaring a national emergency would allow the government to marshal additional resources to combat the virus, and also marks a symbolic turning point for the president, who has repeatedly compared the coronavirus to the seasonal flu and insisted that his administration had the outbreak under control.

In related news: if Federal Reserve notes are disinfectants, then we have enough now to cleanse Earth and all the other inner planets!

Coronavirus, pollen

A reminder: it may just be the pollen. In the Southland and in other parts, it’s been a wet, warm winter. Now, everything is blooming nicely and the yellow blizzard is starting. So, if you have a sniffle or a cough, don’t automatically assume the worse.

Also, they have postponed the Masters this year. Does this mean that the usual tournament thunder/wind storm will also be delayed? We wait. And sneeze.

Sir Tom Gresham (and Henry Macleod) appears to have been proven correct. That’s great news for economics nerds, no? Maybe not so good for the rest of us. In America, it just may be that the bad money has driven out the good. Period.

Well, back to your NBA NHL MLB Disneyland … oh.

The Real Emergency

It’s not the virus. It’s the economy, the same one we were assured last night was in great shape. Economies in great shape do not require $1,500,000,000,000 in overnight banking giveaways in order to survive.

The Fed announced a bold new initiative in an effort to calm market tumult amid the coronavirus meltdown. In all, the new moves pump in up to $1.5 trillion into the financial system in an effort to combat potential freezes brought on by the coronavirus. This was the second day in a row and the third time this week the Fed has stepped in.

Heretofore, it’s been paltry daily sums, like $165 Billion per day. $1.5 Trillion is…

  • About what the government collects in income taxes in five or six months;
  • About what the federal budget was during Bill Clinton’s tenure;
  • The total amount of federal debt late in Reagan’s first term;
  • The GDP of the entire US economy as recently as 1974;
  • Enough money to pay off ALL students loans (right now, *poof*, gone);
  • Enough to buy 100 new Ford Class aircraft carriers; and,
  • If 1,500,000,000,000 6.14″ dollar bills were laid end-to-end, fashioned into a giant fiat ribbon, the ribbon would be almost long enough to stretch from the Earth to Mars, or from the Earth to Venus and back.

The last one was a ridiculous way to measure money, but these are ridiculous times. There’s no way to be sure, but let’s assume this grafting is split between today and tomorrow – $750 Bn per day. If they keep that up, then they are generating $270,000,000,000,000 per year in fake money, or $.27 Quadrillion. All with the push of a button on a computer. Or with the incantations over a crystal ball. This is financial sorcery and it brings to mind Zimbabwe or the Weimar Republic. And, they’re talking about doing even more “to help.”

Remember to wash your hands.

Convenient Collapse Cover

Coronavirus, Economic collapse, Trump

Last night, most out of character, I watched the Trump wheeze his way through the emergency declaration. Amid all the boasting, hand-washing advice, and huge-government spending spree, I noticed him reference the well-capitalized banks and the lack of a financial crisis. This theme has vied with the bug for the lead news lately. I took his words as code for the arrival of an economic depression. I’m not the only one making the connection:

Many have been talking about the markets and economic risks apparent in this country and around the world for a long time. I began sounding alarms before 2008, and since that time have attempted to make aware the fact that from an economic standpoint, the markets and the economy have become much worse, and more suspect ever since. After all the manipulation, the Quantitative Easing (QE), and the continued debt growth, it seemed apparent that a massive economic failure was likely in the future. Is that damning future about to come to fruition? Do the controlling powers that have created this likely economic disaster understand this, and seek to place blame on this new coronavirus outbreak as the cause of all financial ills to come? Was this new coronavirus (COVID-19) purposely created and released so that central bankers, investment bankers, corporate heads, and government puppets could use it as cover for an imminent economic collapse that has become impossible to contain? This in my opinion is a distinct possibility. Political convenience at this level is rarely accidental.

Healthy banks don’t need a $100 Bn+ transfusion every night (like vampires). It appears that – HEY LOOK! Tom Hanks and the NBA!

That’s what they’re calling for, among other measures:

Working parents without child care have a legitimate concern, and we must find ways to help one another. But school closings can be the single most effective intervention. Amid an influenza pandemic, schools would be closed to protect the students themselves. Because children are not among the groups most vulnerable to coronavirus, schools should be closed in an effort to reduce community transmission and to protect the children’s parents and grandparents. How long? Epidemiologists suggest eight weeks might be needed to arrest this outbreak. Administrators, students, teachers and parents need to get busy figuring out how to continue the education of our children while contributing to this community-wide public health effort.

Then, based on the success of the closures, leave the public schools shuttered for good.

If there was ever good cover for “the Storm,” then this invitation from Democrats is it:

Senate Democrats lead by Minority Leader Chuck Schumer are preparing a letter formally calling for President Donald Trump to issue an emergency declaration to make more than $40 billion available to assist state and local governments’ coronavirus response, according to a Senate Democratic aide.

He’ll probably give them what they’re asking for. But, there’s a wide expanse in an “emergency.” What if he does more?

"C", abortion, cannibalism, deep decline, evil, insanity, murder

A certain subset of extremely mentally-ill and wicked people in society has effectively cowed the “moral majority,” the inmates literally running the asylum. Right now, they are hard at work pushing the “P” at the end of their ever-elongating acronym. The “C” is right behind it. The symbols give them away (in addition to fluff pieces in the mainstream media):

Photos out of Washington D.C. show a pro-abortion protester wearing unusual earrings — featuring a crocodile eating a baby.

And, there’s this: from the “story hour” brigade:

Video: Drag Queen Simulates Cutting Baby Out of Her Womb, Drinking Blood. Video out of New York shows a drag queen simulating cutting a baby out of her womb, drinking blood and pulling its head off as onlookers in a bar cheer.

The clip shows Blair Back during a performance of a drag show at an unnamed bar in New York.

Back uses a knife to hack open a pouch in her clothing meant to resemble a womb before dragging fake blood and guts out of it and drinking some of the blood.

Watch that video. Listen carefully to the first twenty seconds of the lyrics in the song. As the onlookers cheer. Molest the children. Kill the children. EAT the children. You can have civilization. Or, you can have this insane degeneracy. Consult Romans 1:32, with attention to the onlookers (those who approve).

That Time We Failed to Spring Forward

Or, that time I did. If I can recall my childhood propaganda correctly (and, if not, I’ll just fill in the facts as needed), then Daylight Savings was a plan from Madison Avenue to help farmers squeeze an extra hour a day, for half the year, out of child laborers. That was in 1874 or such. Today, all crops are grown by robots and chemicals, neither of which care a wit about the time of day or the days in a week. Today, all humans remain indoors at all times. Rumors abound of a strange ball of fire in the sky. Few are said to have seen it. Yet and still, twice a year I have to remember to fall over a spring to forward the clock back or something or other. Geesh, this one’s already halfway to Hades… Well, let’s see… Spring officially springs forth in the Northern Hemisphere next week. Good, I suppose. But now, a few things:

Perrin Blew the Democratic Nominee Call

Totally. Completely. Sadly. We can safely dismiss the notion of sagacity. I truly thought it would be the Hon. Elizabeth Warren, High Chieftainess of the Massataxus. Uh, sorry about that. Now, it’s a three-way race in the DNC to see which of the two old men loses to Trump in November. (Cute as she is, Tulsi has no chance). It’s so close that I won’t even try to predict anyone anymore. [Biden]. Ole MB promised additional federal election coverage soon. Great. As my final electoral pontification for a little while, maybe just maybe y’all should have stuck with the original Presidential selection method; it seemed to yield better results. Anyway, some scientific results are coming in: read on:

Express Thy ACE2

The Coronavirus, aka COVID-19, aka nCoV-19, aka “that which is making people sick” is still, if you haven’t heard, going around. Per the WHO’s official count, the number of infections surpassed 110,000 just this past weekend. As of Sunday afternoon, 3,802 people had died of the disease, with most fatalities being of Chinese or other northeastern Asian ethnic origin. 60,000+ have recovered, but if old zombie movies and 1980s “sky’s falling” alarmism is any measure, then by the time this is posted and read we’ll all be in quarantine. As for the Asian impact, some guy, somewhere, a few weeks ago, drew a conclusion about Asian males being disproportionately affected by the COVID:

Let’s get this out of the way, too: while it appears the nCoV19 can infect nearly anyone (it’s a cold virus strain, BTW), it also appears to be much more dangerous to Asians. And, from what I’m hearing, it really savages the Asian male population. But, don’t take my word for it:

Don’t. He’s not a medical doctor nor a biologist. But, the researchers behind the study, Single-cell RNA expression profiling of ACE2, the putative receptor of Wuhan 2019-nCov, are:

We also noticed that the only Asian donor (male) has a much higher ACE2-expressing cell ratio than white and African American donors (2.50% vs. 0.47% of all cells). This might explain the observation that the new Coronavirus pandemic and previous SARS-Cov pandemic are concentrated in the Asian area.

Got that? It’s all in the RNA. Now what? The jury is still out on whether the pandemic is blowing over or blowing up. However, in Georgia, the blowhards are maybe blowing down the blowout?

Forfeiting the Fictitious

Last week, Jessica Szilagyi did a great thing by reminding some of us that the criminal state of Georgia still practices the armed robbery known as Civil Forfeiture. Some of you likely learned of this evil practice, a dread holdover of the worst kind from the English Common Law, for the first time. Again, these are civil, rather than criminal proceedings. Though this theft sometimes does accompany a related criminal case, there are frequently no iniquitous charges associated – the state just takes your stuff. Georgia, like most other criminal states, has a law that mirrors the Imperial model. The Supreme Court was going to look into the matter recently in a case in which a beloved drug dealer lost a luxury SUV. And, here we still remain – so much for the Nine, eh? In Georgia, Superior Court actions to steal private property are either initiated In Personam (against a natural person or citizen), In Personam and In Rem, or frequently, just In Rem. Yes, Latin lovers, that means they routinely sue the thing itself as a defendant. Check your local docket, and you’ll find case headings that look something like this: In The Superior Court of Corrupt County, Georgia: The Criminal State of Georgia v. One Hundred Forty-Three Dollars in United States Currency, 666-BS-2020… Judging the case by its cover is sufficient to disclose the inherent fraud in these actions: there have been no United States currency in public circulation for nearly fifty years. But again, facts are here as relevant as due process.
