IT’S LIBERTY DAY!

June the Eighth

Last Thursday, June 4th, as any paperwork American or public school history student could tell you, was the 76th anniversary of D-Day. Then, thousands of American men were wounded or killed in the late stages of the second phase of the Great Civil War of the West. With massive Soviet assistance, their compatriots and allies went on to claim victory. The celebrations and remembrances were muted this year due to our cities burning and the plague and so forth. Perhaps general interest wanes.

Similarly, not so many folks know the significance of today, the 53rd iteration or anniversary of Liberty Day. It was a time just after the horrific changes of 1965 and just before the abortion of 1973, another day of unprecedented events of American military and cultural history.

This day honors the valiant, if tragic combat trials of the USS Liberty, AGTR-5. She was probably the most advanced surveillance warship (a Technical Research Ship) of her day, a model of Navy and NSA efficiency and ingenuity. Unmistakable in appearance, she bore her numbers prominently and, with her unique, multi-antenna design, she resembled no other vessel in the world.

On the afternoon (local time) of June 8, 1967, a Thursday, while cruising lawfully and peacefully in international waters, she and her crew were suddenly attacked by a determined and vicious opponent. Barrage after barrage came from the sea and the air. During the hellish whirlwind, she withstood 30 mm cannon fire, rockets, napalm, and torpedoes. 34 Americans were killed and another 174 were wounded. Though the ship herself – due to the heroic efforts of the crew – remained afloat, she was unsalvageable, being decommissioned the following year.

This incident was a first (and only) in American history. Never before had a Navy ship come under an unprovoked attack without warranting a suitable counterattack. Liberty successfully radioed the Sixth Fleet and a rescue force was dispatched from the USS Saratoga. However, as has never happened before or since, the US fighters were recalled under direct orders from the accursed and surely damned Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara. Neither he nor the bloated and wicked Lyndon Johnson had any use for their own servicemen. No retaliatory action was ever taken against the hostile foreign country which almost, pursuant to their plan, destroyed and sank an American ship.

The results for the crew were mixed at best. While they were sternly ordered, under penalty of Court Martial, not to speak about their harrowing travail, they were quietly and belatedly commended for their efforts.

WHEN “KAREN” MET A “JOGGER” — LOL

This episode would have been worthy of a Johnny Horton ballad, had he not died in 1960. Imagine, if you will, something along the lines of The Sinking of the Reuben James, Sink the Bismarck, or John Paul Jones. Here, out of respect for the dead, the warriors, and the artist, I won’t even attempt one of my spoof covers.

The ship’s awards include:

The Medal Of Honor, Commander William McGonagle;

11 Silver Stars;

20 Bronze Stars;

200+ Purple Hearts;

The Combat Action Ribbon; and,

The Presidential Unit Citation.

She remains the most decorated Navy ship for single combat engagement. Oddly, Johnson, may he burn in hell, didn’t see fit to personally present the awards. Unlike previous (or subsequent) heroes, these brave men were not invited to the White House. They didn’t receive the Unit award until 1991 when George “The Vomiter” Bush saw fit to kind of toss it at the survivors as his limousine whizzed by. All ceremonies were clandestine and the name of the hateful enemy was purposely omitted. (Imagine a D-Day commemoration without mention of Nazi Germany). The events were long hidden from the public; odds are, this is the first time you’ve heard the tale, no? There also has never been a formal inquest. Many and dastardly firsts.

There is a semi-credible rumor, a theory that the attack was a related diversion, orchestrated by Johnson (who was just the kind of guy to do such a thing), that was supposed to be the kick-starter for something much worse. Again, Johnson would have been the one. Yet, we’ll leave that, for now, to the speculative or to your own research. Either way, it was another day of infamy, buried under decades of further infamy.

Many never knew. Some know and denigrate this important chapter of our history. Among the latter-day trash, is worthless neo-con dipshit Charlie Kirk, who dismissed the attack as a “conspiracy theory.” Dishon. Dan Crenshaw won’t even publicly discuss or acknowledge the date of the incident. Yet and still, there were investigations of limited scope. Excuses were given. Some apologies made. Secretary of State Dean Rusk and Admiral Thomas H. Moorer of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, among many others, concluded unequivocally that the attack had been deliberate, intended to destroy Liberty, kill her crew, and entangle America in another war. A friend of mine was, upon a time, close friends with Admiral Moorer. He also met with several survivors. None of them thought there was anything theoretical about the attack – in the premeditated murderous conspiracy or in the lethal action.

We owe more than can be imagined to Liberty’s brave crew.

Tell them that we will never forget – not the attack, not the ship, not the crew, not the cover-up. Further, learn about our fading American history, especially the parts that the agents of evil would rather you never discover. Remember the Liberty! Or, ignore her and let the battle be a metaphor for the strafing of America.

Breaking The Hammer: Fables Of The Paper Eagle

Greetings! Another week and more affairs, some pertaining to the wider world, in that uniquely American way. Those of you who spent the weekend fellating the current “heroes” probably won’t understand or like the following. Tough. However, I’m proud to say that you might be compensated when a “hero” visits you in person before too long – gun in one hand, syringe in the other!

There’s so much happening with homeschooling and the death of the public schools that I almost ran with that. (Dead schools, dead horse, I know). But, the CDC has effectively recommended disbanding the “schools.” For once, I agree with the CDC!

Also, I had to alter this column slightly when some brand new (decades-old) news broke over the weekend. I did so. Sometimes it’s hard to write a national affairs column about a nation that died around the time I was born – at least, with a straight face. While the original main body, below, concerns the ongoing collapse of the US Empire overseas, there is a domestic story to tell first.

Back in 1969, the residents of Tribeca noticed a new construction site at 33 Thomas Street, a phenomenon not unheard of in Manhattan. By 1974, the new building was finished and open for business; an ugly 33-story tower at home among many others. This one was different. People noticed, though for years they said nothing, that the building had no windows. Blank concrete walls rose to the sky, topped by a bunch of antennas. After initially accepting the cover story that the odd structure was only an AT&T transfer station – which it was and is, in part – the truth emerged: it was (and is) also an NSA listening post.

I know, I know, the blind homers of C-town don’t care ‘bout no Yankee city. And you don’t have to, a similar post in downtown Atlanta being much closer. While they still serve various purposes, these facilities have become somewhat obsolete – being replaced by those personal spy devices that you’re reading this on at the moment.

The NSA itself, born in 1952 out of other nefarious government programs, was long the subject of controversy – not about what it did, but rather, about the tin-foil nuts who suggested it was real. As recently as thirty years ago, the existence of the agency was deemed a crank conspiracy theory. (I’ve come to accept “conspiracy theory” as synonymous with “hard fact.”) As the years passed, other programs were mentioned: Carnivore, Echelon, DCS1000, Boundless Informant, Galileo, FISA, etc. I remember discussing some of these, back in the day, with MB – back when we thought something bad was going to happen to America. Ah, the naivety of youth.

How It Might Have Happened: Just A Theory

How It Might Have Happened: A Theory

Since The Hoax started, I’ve openly and mockingly derided the hoax as a hoax. This being the age of post-literacy, I’m constantly “corrected” by such bland thoughtlessness as, “Well, ACK-CHUUUALLY, it’s clearly a real thing! For you to imply that this is fake, it seems like you don’t know what you’re talking about. The virus is obviously real and really killing everyone.” (The correction comes as often from the well-meaning types as from the ignorant know-it-alls). They’re all of them wrong, wrong, wrong, and wrong.

First of all, get a Gott verdammt dictionary! “Hoax,” as I explained several posts ago, doesn’t mean “fake.” It means something done for malicious purposes. “Something done” implies something real. The underlying thing, in this case, a second-rate cold bug, may not be terribly effective. It’s the malicious purposes that make trouble.

The intelligence community, the military, the banksters, and the elites knew about this hoax last year – probably around the time they were putting it into malicious action. Early in the year, while wading through more ordinary lies and bullshit, the people were informed that a supervirus had emerged from a “wet” market in Wuhan, likely from the consumption of raw bats. As literally bat shit crazy as this excuse was, and even as it was completely disproved, it was believed by the masses and endlessly repeated by the useless politicians and their lapdog media. Someone pointed out that Wuhan is home to a high-level biowarfare laboratory. The suggestion was made, and ran with, that the Chinese accidentally released the monster. Accidentally gave way to intentionally. War was hinted at. Now, shills like Peter Navarro openly say we’re at war with China. We might be, though not in the way the liars suggest.

What if the dreaded, yet remarkably unserious COVID-19 was not released by China, but against and on China? China, and Iran? Here’s my theory, which makes as much or more sense than anything else floating around. By the way, consult with the dictionary about the meaning of “theory.” I do not know exactly what happened. All I know is that the government, having lied about everything for the past 160 years, cannot be trusted. What I’m about to hypothecate is just as likely to be true as anything they’ve poured out. And I don’t have WMDs, Tower Seven, the Curse of ‘65, The Gulf of Tonkin, Pearl Harbor, withholding, the 19th Amendment, the income tax, the Federal Reserve, etc. holding down my average.

There’s also the thing about the US government, other governments, and corporate and NGO elites having A LOT of prescience knowledge about the bug before it ever made the news. How did they know?

I’m not the only one with a version of this theory. There’s Vox Day and Ron Unz, among others. Very good company. And, like them, I do not presume to know or understand everything. Alternative causation is frequently wrong or misattributed. But just as frequently, it is more accurate than the official story.

Here’s the theory, in a semi-narrative form:

In Frederick, Maryland, the US Army maintains a quaint little post called Fort Detrick. It was long home to the Empire’s biowarfare development center. It probably still is; they’ve just changed the name. Take your pick: USAMRMC or USAMRIID. They’re not exactly the same thing but they work on similar research and they’re located together.

For grins and giggles, let’s assume – because this is, again, a theory – that at Detrick, they keep some viruses handy. Maybe one of them was of the Corona family. One may trust the military to keep dangerous diseases every bit as safe as they did the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.

Now, call it the Deep State, call it the CIA and Mossad, Illuminati, NWO, or any name you like because globalism is a really big and far-reaching operation – suppose that someone spirited one of those viruses out of the lab. Or some other lab somewhere. What then? Then, they give it to their counterparts in Wuhan, right? Maybe. Or, maybe not. My theory ponders whether the bug didn’t first travel up the East Coast to Boston. News broke in January that the FBI arrested Harvard professor Charles Lieber along with two Chinese nationals. Note that the charges do not specify biowarfare. He was charged with shady reporting of his multiple interests and benefactors. But there was a rumor that one of the Chinese arrestees – or another person – had discretely made off with a vial of … something.

We can stop right here, if we trust the self-appointed “fact-checkers,” as they’ve preemptively ruled out my theory. I do not trust them, therefore I will proceed.

Despite being arrested and held on a million-dollar bond, Lieber’s faculty page was still operational mid-May. Harvard boasts of Lieber:

… At Harvard, Lieber has pioneered the synthesis of a broad range of nanoscale materials, the characterization of the unique physical properties of these materials and the development of methods of hierarchical assembly of nanoscale wires, together with the demonstration of applications of these materials in nanoelectronics, nanocomputing, biological and chemical sensing, neurobiology and nanophotonics.

Lieber has also developed and applied a new chemically sensitive microscopy for probing organic and biological materials at nanometer to molecular scales. …

All things to be proud of, those. In fact, his very name means “beloved” in Yiddish. By the way, some of his benefactors included the NIH and the DOD – to the tune of some $15 Million. He also did business with China and perhaps other countries.

Might this be the man to tinker with something very small, like a virus? And the tinkering need not have involved anything as sophisticated as Lieber’s ordinary work nor CRISPR technology. Sometimes, as dog people can tell you, old-fashioned cross-breeding goes a long way. The smallest twist to part of an organism that regularly mutates on its own and – voila! – a slightly more dangerous, and novel virus, perhaps of the Corona family.

Maybe he did nothing of the kind and is, in fact, innocent of all charges and suspicions. Let’s assume for sake of exploration – theory, again – that something of the kind did happen. A new, modified disease was born and then removed from the university by someone. Who? This is, again, a working, guessing theory, but we’re not likely to get real answers, at least anytime soon. Lieber’s case, 1:20-mj-02158, District Court, D. Mass, was sealed (why?), then unsealed (okay), and then partially resealed (why?). My guess as to the “why” has to do with a nebulous assertion of national security. And, honestly, I’m surprised he’s still in the country. I would not be surprised if the case was closed pursuant to some extra-judicial settlement (also sealed) and that Lieber later turned up, working in another country, like Israel. He and his associates may or may not be agents of Mossad. Or of the CIA. Or of China. We don’t know anything except that there’s a smell. There is also the viable concept of the patsy.

Moving on, theoretically, let’s assume that whoever stole the modified virus wanted to get it out of American jurisdiction as fast as possible. The closest foreign country to Boston is Canada. Again, some rumors have swirled that the next stop could have been Winnipeg, home to Canada’s only CL4 bio lab and home to some rumors about more Chinese activities. Note: the “fact-checkers” have covered this too, which lends additional credibility to that which they allegedly disproved. It could have also gone to Vancouver. Or, to both. It’s also possible that it could have then traveled – the little bug got around – to Hawaii, North Korea, and/or Japan.

Somewhere along the way, I suppose it could have been handed off to another party, probably someone from the CIA or the Pentagon, some useful member of the Deep State. That someone either took it directly to China or handed it off to yet another person for transport to the 2019 CISM Military World Games in Wuhan. Wuhan is, of course, home to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, another top-level dangerous disease research facility. This scenario, by the way, has occurred to the Chinese. (Yeah. “Fact-checkers” on that too).

So, if all of the foregoing happened, in some manner, then what? I theorize that a member of the US game delegation could have handed off the bug to a mole in China who worked in the Wuhan Institute or who had access thereto. From there, it was a matter of two things: one, releasing the virus in Wuhan (maybe at the bat emporium), and; two, having someone forward a sample clandestinely to Iran.

Even most Americans are aware that something happened in Wuhan, rapidly spreading to South Korea and the rest of the world. Fewer know that Iran suffered an early, and very politically-damaging outbreak as well. The disease hit the Iranian elite especially hard. Part of my theory suggests that, pursuant to scheduled arms or technical advisement missions, the mole or another agent of the agenda spread the virus to the high-level Iranian leadership. From China and Iran, it literally went viral, as you might have heard. You’ve probably heard much else in the way of hype and nonsense.

As I wrote recently, this virus, like most of its kind, is terribly ineffective – both as a weapon and in the more general sense. It appears contagious, but not, in and of itself, terribly deadly. The vast majority of “victims” never know they have it and recover unaided. Thus, certain interested parties have had to move statistical mountains in order to re-code other ailments as COVID-related. There’s been a level of fear-mongering like the world has never witnessed before. If the bug failed, the PR campaign succeeded.

Okay, who would do this, if in fact something was done? It’s possible this could have been China’s secret military gift to the world, but I doubt it. They’re ascendant, reclusive, and rather civilized. It would not be in their interest to anger all other nations. But, it might be in the interests of the US Empire and/or Israel and/or the worldwide diaspora and/or other globalist factions. It might be something else, possibly even something natural. It might be – again, just bouncing plausible ideas here.

Let’s start with the Empire, the easier part: this could have been an easy way to strike at two nations the Deep State hates and fears, at the same time, and with few traces of underlying malice. Think this impossible? Consider that, as a separate class operating within but also without (no loyalty) the US political machinery, these types will do anything to advance their selfish causes. As an entity, the Empire is the organism that saw fit to drop an atomic bomb on a church. Anything is possible when one deals with demons.

The Israeli and/or diaspora angle is a little harder to fathom, though as many know, both often work together and/or in tandem with the Empire. My guess is that this was a way to do several things. It could have been revenge on China for their denial of The Great Leap (look it up). Targeting Iran is ever an objective. These would be a relatively easy sell to certain parties within the Imperial bureaucracy. There’s more to consider.

First, are the interests of the diaspora and the Israeli nationalists aligned here? We don’t know. Sometimes they are. Sometimes they’re diametrically opposed. That’s why I resorted to the “and/or.” The Great Leap and its failure deeply concern certain elites outside of Israel. They frequently hold influence yet lack power of the sort needed to pull off such a revenge attack. The Israelis, especially in concert with the Empire, have the power though they might lack the motivation – even as to Iran. It could be both factions operating together. It might be the diaspora along with the Empire. It could also be a direct Mossad involvement, as revenge, because Israel had a vested interest in the Leap for no other reason than to keep the diaspora from coming to Israel. We do not know. We do know there was a boomerang effect, blowback.

My guess is that the global ramifications were anticipated, calculated, and even desired. These people are wicked, not stupid. They knew that fifty years of relentless globalization would send the virus to Italy, Brazil, Israel, Russia, Europe, and the US. They counted on it.

In addition to the nominal, temporary weakening of China and Iran, with the ability to attribute false blame to them, here are a few side benefits (in brief, to move this along):

  • Extremely convenient cover for the pre-existing collapse of the financial (sorcery) economy;
  • A chance to gauge the willingness of the public to tolerate (or even demand) further tyranny on a scale never seen in history – boy, the people haven’t disappointed;
  • The effective, if temporary, end of organized Christianity;
  • Extended reliance on the government for basic necessities;
  • The near-future ability to instill further panic and/or foist God-knows-what on the people with a “vaccine,” the “Gates” agenda and all;
  • Excuse for more war (which could be heating up even now);
  • Etc, Etc, Etc…

Yes, there have been detrimental side effects. For instance, even the low-wattage bulbs begin to sense something is amiss with the public school system. Risks they were willing to take, I suppose. The potential for war, both in distant lands and seas along with the variety uncomfortably close to home, should be of grave concern to Americans. A first strike rather eliminates moral high ground. Then again, any outfit that bombs churches and murders 62 million of its own children never had anything resembling morality. It is more pressing for a rapidly fading power faced with a potential enemy that its own tests and games say cannot be beaten. War should be a concern of the people (as they’ll be asked or forced to participate), but since Fox and CNN haven’t started pounding the drums, it really isn’t. Yet.

And finally, nearing press time, there’s this news from abroad: The new Chinese envoy to Israel was found dead at his home, from “natural causes.” This may be the case. Then again, just how many coincidences are they allowed under any theory?

That my theory, one of them, for now. There is, at present, no way to know for certain what is happening. Only trust that whatever the mainstream narrative is (and, yes, it changes daily), it is a lie and a deception. I’m sure you disagree with the foregoing at intervals. That’s fine so long as you’re thinking about this and not parroting the foolish idiocy from cabal propaganda. I understand that much of this is beyond some people’s ability to grasp. They are, most of them, currently wearing ill-fitting masks to protect against the bug, even as those masks have been demonstrated to be both ineffective and even inherently dangerous. To the extent they consider outside possibilities, they usually jump straight to the lizard people. Honestly, I don’t write for them.

And, I am sick of writing about the virus, the hoax, the fallout and covers, and everything else that goes with it. It is my great hope that these might be some of my last words on the matter. Right or wrong, I can’t change any of it. Neither can you. We can’t fix it, all of it, but remember that we didn’t cause it. We don’t have to perpetuate or facilitate it.

BELATED UPDATE: Dr. Lieber was convicted by a jury and will allegedly be sentenced in January of 2023.

Education in the New Abnormal, Part Three

As promised, here’s the third installment in a series that arose in a rather impromptu fashion. To catch up here’s: Part One and Part Two.

Before I get going, two things:

One. Biowarfare is sloppy at best:

There are still only three real and effective WMDs: nukes, heavy bombing, and conventional concentrated artillery strikes. Chemical weapons and germs, while moderately effective in closed theaters, just don’t have the reliability of overall destructive power. But, they do, if properly manipulated via PR, have the ability to instill panic. So it is with the little “China” bug, which likely got its start in Maryland. I have a theory backed by growing evidence; I think I have a good idea about “who” and “why.” Let’s just say the little virus did some traveling, at the behest of two of the most hideously evil countries on Earth, before it ever arrived in Wuhan. More on that, perhaps, later. But it is, as I’ve said all along, a hoax. That’s what it is, friends, another in an endless series of hobgoblins literally created by the elites to keep you panicked. Congratulations to most for falling in line as predicted or ordered.

Two. For fun, predicting the next hoax:

Mars Attacks! This is just thinking outside the mask (which is dangerous and ineffective), for a second, in anticipation of the next con job. I heard that the US Space Force(!) ran a recruiting ad in an attempt to crew the good Starship Trumperprise, WTF-666 (Braggart-Class Crui$er). Boy, you’ll be glad they did when the mean old Martians finally come calling. No, you won’t ever see one. Nobody you know will either. But, some paid celebrities will claim to have been abducted, only to be rescued by Luke Debtwalker. Parades will be held. Endless TV press conferences. We’ll be admonished to thank our “Heroes of the Helios” for their service. Here, wear this mind-control helmet so the aliens can’t read your thoughts! It was ET bombing those houses, honest. The Death Star took out the housing market. We’ll need the last vestiges of your liberties, please. They probably won’t say “please,” but you get the idea. Most will go along happily – if fearfully.

Thank God Almighty that nothing of the sort is in progress right now. Yet, for some odd reason, the schools are all closed down. (Now, the education part – the last for a while, methinks):

Harvard has given so much to the world: Napalm, the bat-bomb (by the Napalm guy no less!), the Unabomber, Larry Summers, the new definition of “grade inflation,” Farcebook, SJWisms, the collision of two powerful low-trust groups of outsiders over control of American academia and possibly greater society, a slightly modified virus, etc. Now we can add to the list, a call to ban homeschooling. You know, because it works, and because Christians like it. A mid-witted Promethean law professor, whose name isn’t even worth mentioning, thinks it’s “authoritarian” and dangerous for mom and dad to raise their own children. Her reasoning – and, yeah, it’s a stretch of the word, all-right – echoes the flaming rants of Xir Stroop, namely: Christ bad, government good. Of course, results in literal reality may vary.

But, homeschooling, or private schooling, might be all that’s left. Last weekend, I spoke with a neighbor who teaches AP science at a government high school. She’s what I deem one of the “good ones,” and she’s more than a little worried about not resuming classes in the fall of this year. She’s not alone. Google “school budget” and any given geographic area in America and you’ll find not all is financially well in public education. Georgia K-12 schools are on the life support of emergency federal intervention. Georgia is not alone in that regard either, and the state’s colleges are also feeling the pinch.

When, or rather if, the schools make a comeback prior to the 2021-22 year, they promise big, COVID-19 friendly changes. They have no idea what those are nor how they’ll work, but it’s their way to promise – so they do. As to the hypothetical deviations, I looked at systems in Georgia, North Carolina, and Massachusetts (cause we’re East Coast-centric around here!). What I found was so depressing, idiotic, and plausibly ephemeral, that I decided to go straight to the international competition, schools in countries that still nominally value education. I’d like to suppose how Americans might benefit, if at all, from what the foreigners are doing/planning to do.

The Chinese, primary intended victims of the late attacks, are sending the little kids back to the desks outfitted with special … wait for it … social distancing hats! These are something like the copter-top beanies that the boys sported when the Beaver was still fresh on the air, except the blades are enormous and they don’t rotate. Seriously. It’s a hat – ball cap or what have you – with what appear to be added pool noodles or yardsticks, each about three-feet long. That means that two children can’t come within the magic six-foot exclusionary zone without bumping hats, which I assume would be embarrassing. These being elementary children, they’ve decorated the hats in an overly cute fashion. It’s like the (metal) lunchboxes or t-shirts from my era, except its sickness psychosis theater headwear. THIS! I expect the American masses to add these to their mask and glove ensemble. Kroger intercom: Don’t fall flat. Wear your hat!

The Little Dutch Boy is scheduled to abandon his efforts at the dike (not you, Stroopy!) and return to class ensconced inside a plexiglass cubicle. This would be 100% foolproof if the thing was fully-enclosed (it isn’t) and didn’t require non-plexiglass movement throughout the day. Yeah, and there’s the thing about under-18s not being susceptible to the bug and this whole episode being utterly ridiculous, but… ‘Muricans done beat them Netherlands to this one; a similar (idiotic and ineffective) structure having been partially erected around every cash register in North America.

The French have a delightful idea that seems custom-made for trial in the États Unis. I can’t remember why, and I’m not going to look a second time, but the Frenchies are reopening their academies, initially, for only ten percent of the studentry. In Amérique, only about ten percent of the victim inmates learn anything, so it might be wise to only mandate or allow their return. This being wise automatically precludes its happening.

Denmark may have the best, easiest, most effective, and breeziest solution to the problem that doesn’t exist. It actually makes outside (pun) sense in its own right. The crazy Danes are holding classes outdoors! Schooling was regularly conducted amidst fresh air from caveman days up until about fifty years ago. Add HVACing to the long list of crimes perpetrated against our children. No, idiot! Not when it’s 110 degrees or when it’s snowing! Most other times, however, this is among the finest of ideas, something that Socrates, Thales, and Plato practiced. We know this will not work in America, as most of our children have never been outside and open windows frighten our women. Anyway…

Now’s the time when I would otherwise extol the virtues of home and/or private schools. I’ve done that so much, myself, that I’d like to turn the column over to Crisis Magazine for a moment. Read THIS, THIS, and THIS. Thanks. Homeschool or die or, at least, suffer terrible consequences. Vox Day related the recent homeschool success of a long-time reader at his site. Your children can do it too.

Now, for a brief word about colleges, or about picking the right college – for after the homeschool victories. I recently mentioned the viability of trade schools. However, for many, college is still a right option, if it’s the right school. Most are not.

The Cardinal Newman Society puts out a list of its recommended colleges. There are more than 200 Catholic schools in America, most of them “Catholic” in name only. The CNS found 15 of them truly worthy, with a handful of others added from the ranks of the modern, alternative (on-line) camps. I can vouch for Magdalen College and Thomas Aquinas College, both in New Hampshire. All of these choices instill a deep, profound liberal arts education while maintaining a true Christian Spirit. One may compare those schools to ACTA’s rankings. Of 1,132 colleges surveyed, only 23 made the “A” grade, which denotes the kind of comprehensive scholastics one would otherwise associate with higher education but which are sadly lacking at most of today’s schools. Research is your friend.

And, friends, that is a wrap, today. Next time … some other interesting national affair(s). A thought for the interim: We know a new (and exciting!) war is around the corner? What if it’s already in progress?

Another War in Iraq?

Could this be the source of all the war talk of late?

The Pentagon has issued a secret directive, as of last week, calling on the military commanders in Iraq to plan a massive campaign against Iraqi Shi’ite militias, with an eye toward totally wiping one or more of the factions out.

The offensive is being advocated by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who believes they can destroy Iran’s proxies while the country is distracted by the coronavirus pandemic. Some commanders, particularly Lt. Gen. Robert White, are opposing the idea.

The general warns that the new campaign would take thousands more US troops, divert resources from existing missions, and risk blowing up into a full-scale war with Iran. Escalating a war with Iran, however, probably isn’t going to deter Pompeo from advocating the effort.

I had the feeling they were planning something larger and even more stupid. But, who knows? At least there’s a little opposition to the madness.

It Was Already Slowing Down

Much like the economy, the internet was already dragging along at 2000 levels of performance before the Chinese virus hoax surfaced. It has made things noticeable worse.

And last week, as a wave of stay-at-home orders rolled out across the United States, the average time it took to download videos, emails and documents increased as broadband speeds declined 4.9 percent from the previous week, according to Ookla, a broadband speed testing service. Median download speeds dropped 38 percent in San Jose, Calif., and 24 percent in New York, according to Broadband Now, a consumer broadband research site.

So, 5G will look even better when it’s rolled out. 2018 video streaming speeds will seem like great comfort to the home population while the primary uses facilitate the next phase. Got it.

Why do I get the odd feeling that the constant recitation of “war,” “battle,” “the enemy,” etc are psychological conditioning for something, like maybe the next phase?

Coronavirus, theory, War

I watched a duo of medical doctors answer questions about COVID-19. Actually, I skipped to the one about whether it was man-made. Their quick answer, potentially valid, was that it was highly unlikely so. Then, they blamed climate change and I wrote them off. Others are still asking questions, to include the possible origins of the disease.

So, you have your choice. Coronavirus occurred naturally, or it came out of a lab in China itself or even from Israel or the United States. If one suspects Israel and/or the United States, the intent clearly would have been to create a biological weapon that would damage two nations that have been designated as enemies. But the coronavirus cannot be contained easily and it is clear that many thousands of people will die from it. Unfortunately, as with Stuxnet, once the genie is out of the bottled it is devilishly hard to induce it to go back in.

Slight genetic modification of the bug might be all that it takes to cause group-specific effects. That might not require advanced procedures, though we now have them. Biologists discovered in 1955 that viruses cross-breed. So many ifs. If it is a weapon, then who made it and unleashed it? If we discover it was party X, then why did they do it? And, what do we do about it? Blaming “climate change” or the Tooth Fairy doesn’t appear to be a useful response.

Yet another “contractor” caught double-dealing.

A military linguist was charged with providing classified information, including the real names of people spying for the U.S., to a Lebanese man connected to the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group.

In what would be a major security breach, officials said the linguist, Mariam Taha Thompson, 61 years old, who works under contract for the Defense Department, transmitted the highly classified data while serving at a Special Operations Task Force site in Erbil, Iraq.

I love the rehashing of the half-truth news from two months ago that the people have completely forgotten. Whatever, uh, did that guy make it across the volcano?

Fighting resumes in Afghanistan.

The partial truce between the US, the insurgents and Afghan forces lasted for the week running up to the signing of the US-Taliban accord in Doha on Saturday, and was extended over the weekend.

“The reduction in violence… has ended now and our operations will continue as normal,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told AFP.

“As per the (US-Taliban) agreement, our mujahideen will not attack foreign forces but our operations will continue against the Kabul administration forces.”

We’re the foreign forces. It’s their land to fight over. Get out ahead of schedule.
