Read this post from Jeff Bezos’s blog. The way they see it:

Step back and think about all of the ways the preceding paragraph reveals the hollowness of key aspects of Trump’s rhetoric.

We can begin with Trump’s continued insistence that Russia didn’t assist him in 2016. It did, as established robustly in special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s assessment released in April.

The truth, if Nunes is even partly correct, then there was massive falsification in the Mueller report. Er, robust falsification. Maybe with a little robust prosecution to follow? If so, the WaPo will spin that as climate change or something.

MB McCart’s good take on the report:

By MB McCart, Editor

NATIONAL

Well, folks, it finally got released. The redacted version of the Mueller report. As several others commented, I cannot begin to say how impressed I was that several media outlets had already read, disseminated & published their findings on the almost 500-page document literally within an hour or so of it being released. Wow!

As for myself, I’ve scanned most all of it & have seriously read, so far, about a 1/5th of it.

In many ways this just confirmed what you were already believing. If a Trump fan – total vindication; a Trump hater, on the other hand, is going to think this proves there were improper things going on. Who’s right? Really, who cares…

NY Post

It is what it is but as is often the case, the truth is somewhere in between the two extremes, though I believe it’s fairly apparent that the whole concept of a “Nothing Burger” was a pretty apt description. And all those folks who’ve been convicted? It was all for non-Russia stuff with the exception of Flynn, who basically just made an honest mistake but then got crucified for it.

And let’s not forget, all of this was built on a lie – the infamous Steele dossier that was paid for by the DNC & the Clinton campaign, and let’s also not forget that it was helped along by those in the intelligence community looking for an “insurance policy.”

But, before all of that, let’s also not forget that all of this purportedly started with Russian groupscreating Facebook pages & groups while spending approx. $100K & that Clinton campaign Chair John Podesta was an idiot & had his email hacked.

The nerve of Russia, right? If they’re going to do stuff like that, they should do it like the good ole US of A, CIA-style – actually do it in person. Get some boots on the ground. Maybe kill some folks.

My added comment:

‘Tis as I wrote on March 27th: “Everyone knew this story was complete bullsh!t from start to finish. Now, it’s official.” Trump is not “f*cked” as he originally feared; he’s no longer bogged down and is free to get to work on at least a few major campaign items. Sadly, I predict the invasion will continue and the swamp will remain stagnant and stinking. I’ll also call, officially, Trump’s re-election next year – with or without substantive redress of the rot. Excellent article, Mr. Editor. PS: local (and state) anti-speech laws are routinely stricken by courts. It’s the social media itself that presents the 21st Century, SJW problem.

Mueller, Mueller Report, Russia, those "sealed" indictments..., Trump

We anticipate the full partial redacted whatever portion on the Mueller Report a little later today. I’ll get that up, maybe with a little analysis – like there’s anything to analyze, at some point. Check Drudge, news junkies.

Anyway, I assume that tomorrow, Good Friday, we will start seeing the unsealing of all those secret military indictments. Let the treason trials (Nuremberg-style) commence. … I crack me up…

One hopes so, regardless of what the fake Mueller “Russia, Russia, Russia” investigation reveals:

Alan Dershowitz, a frequent defender of President Donald Trump, said special counsel Robert Mueller’s report will be “devastating” for the president.

The Harvard Law professor emeritus told ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos that he believes the president will have to navigate the political impact of a potentially damning final report from the special counsel.

“I think the report is going to be devastating to the president and I know that the president’s team is already working on a response to the report,” Dershowitz said on “This Week” Sunday.

Dershowitz added that he believes the report, although it will have a strong political impact, is unlikely to result in criminal charges.

In fact, the report, devastating or not, may be a good thing; it may provide a convenient list (should anyone in power want one) of enemy combatant candidates. It’ll probably make for some funny Tweets too. Bring it.

For what its worth, every honest criminal defense attorney knows exactly what Trump and Guiliani meant by their “baffling” incrimination statements. It’s true.

Exclusive: Trump worries that Mueller interview could be a ‘perjury trap’

Mueller has been known to use such tactics before. It’s his job.

Don’t talk. Even if you’re the President.

conspiracy, crazy, law, Mueller

We are reliably informed that any and all “conspiracy theories” are the mark of insanity. Therefore, it’s so sad to see what’s become of a once noble swamp critter:

For a look at how Special Counsel Robert Mueller could tie Russian election interference to American citizens, watch the C-word.

Not coordination or collusion, but conspiracy.

One charge in particular — conspiracy to defraud the U.S. — has cropped up in several of the Mueller team’s major cases. The allegation shows up in filings against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, as well as in indictments of Russian nationals accused earlier this month of hacking into Democratic Party organizations and election infrastructure. Conspiracy charges are significant because they’re building blocks: Once prosecutors allege a conspiracy, they can add more individuals later.

Donald Trump and his circle have long focused on a different buzzword, saying that there was no collusion with Russians, and subsequently that if there was collusion, Trump wasn’t aware of it. Now comes Trump attorney-cum-spokesman Rudy Giuliani. ”I don’t even know if that’s a crime, colluding about Russians,” Giuliani told CNN this week. Trump echoed that in a tweet: “Collusion is not a crime.”

That is at once technically correct and, according to former federal prosecutor Mimi Rocah, beside the point.

“To say there’s no crime of collusion means nothing,” said Rocah. “That label isn’t in the criminal statutes. But that doesn’t matter because the conduct that underlies collusion can be, under certain circumstances, conspiracy to defraud the U.S.”

As of yet, it is unclear which federal agency Mueller and the Russia-Gate conspirators have allegedly defrauded. Candidates include the DOJ, Congress, the Post Office, the White House, and the Treasury.

It’s also unclear how an insanity defense plays out in an enemy combatant proceeding.

Trouble in Mueller Land?

In pushing forward the vast right-wing conspiracy, the Russians seemingly lost their minds. They stooped as low as common tax evasion and something about a beach house. That doesn’t buy many votes. And federal judge T.S. Ellis doesn’t seem to be buying the government’s special counsel’s deep state’s charging authority.

Mueller’s team says its authorities are laid out in documents including the August 2017 scope memo – and that some powers are actually secret because they involve ongoing investigations and national security matters that cannot be publicly disclosed.

Ellis seemed amused and not persuaded.

He summed up the argument of the Special Counsel’s Office as, “We said this was what [the] investigation was about, but we are not bound by it and we were lying.”

He referenced the common exclamation from NFL announcers, saying: “C’mon man!”

Judges change their minds but sometimes, some very few times, the tree is poisoned and charges are dismissed. There’s the old saying: “When the judge reverts to sports talk, the case is over.” Putin knew that all along.

This one might be actionable or subject to extradition.

An attorney who worked for a prominent law firm was charged with making false statements to federal authorities as part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe of Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential election.

Alex Van Der Zwaan was charged Feb. 16 with lying to the FBI and Mueller’s office about conversations related to his work on a report prepared by his law firm on the legitimacy of the criminal prosecution of a former Ukrainian prime minister, Yulia Tymoshenko.

Prosecutors charged Van Der Zwaan by criminal information, which typically precedes a guilty plea. He is scheduled to appear Tuesday afternoon in federal court in Washington. He didn’t immediately respond to calls and emails seeking comment.

Van Der Zwaan was an associate in the London office of Skadden, Arps, Slate Meagher & Flom. “The firm terminated its employment of Alex Van Der Zwaan in 2017 and has been cooperating with authorities in connection with this matter,” the firm said in a statement.

Last year, Van Der Zwaan married the daughter of Russian oligarch German Khan, according to the London Tatler. Khan is a shareholder of Alfa Group, a Russian banking and investment concern, and a board member at LetterOne Holdings, the investment vehicle set up by the founders of Alfa Group.

The unsealing of Van Der Zwaan’s case came four days after Mueller accused 13 Russians of a sophisticated disinformation campaign using a troll army that targeted the 2016 campaign and sought to sow discord in the U.S.

I still don’t see anything resembling collusion between Trump and the Ruskies. I do see a pattern of people getting charged with lying to the FBI. And this guy was an attorney at a mega firm, one of the most monied on Earth. It just goes to show the old adage: if you’re not talking, you’re not lying. The FBI is the police.

Do not talk to the police. Really.

There really is no good reason. If they suspect you or your associates of a crime – any crime – they can generally find something to charge you with. Don’t help them. Don’t make it easy.

On the other hand, if you know of someone who is venturing into the world of “professional school shooting,” and you tell the FBI, they do nothing. Nothing, except for a little CYA after the shooting career starts. Again, no point in the communication.

This is our “premier” law enforcement agency…

Russians: The Mueller Indictment

So, now we have it – 37 pages of indictment against 13 Russian nationals and 3 Russian organisations.

READ THE WHOLE THING HERE.

nimbus-image-1518813671347

It seems to me there were two purposes behind the Special Counsel’s investigation from the beginning: 1) actually investigate election tampering, etc., and; 2) find or manufacture evidence of collusion between Russia and Trump. The latter part was the heart and soul of the “Russia, Russia, Russia” mania gripping the media, the Democrats, etc.

The indictment finds and alleges no collusion whatsoever between the President and any Russian malfeasors. In fact, it finds no impropriety by any American.

With the recent developments in the FBI/FISA debacle and with no evidence of collusion anywhere, it may be that Mueller decided to wrap this one up. It could also be that he did a proper investigation and that this is the result.

The issue is, of course, developing. More later, likely.

Read. Discuss. Etc.

Tin Foil Hat Land: Those CRAZY Conspiracy Theories

You see, according to the statists, any independent thinking about or criticism of anything coming from the government constitutes a conspiracy theory. Such is synonymous with insane nuttery. All utterances about anything from the government are the literal God’s honest truth (Nature’s truth, whatever).

It works like this:

Crazy Conspiracy Theory:

Mueller and the Government may have (may have) violated Paul Manafort’s civil rights:

Ex-campaign adviser Paul Manafort turned himself into the FBI on Monday after being indicted for money laundering, and a slew of other financial crimes. The feds alleged he illegally funneled millions of dollars of payments into offshore bank accounts in order to avoid detection by U.S. authorities as it related to his work on behalf of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. While the indictment containing Manfort’s alleged criminal activities is very detailed, and well-documented, there is one area that could hurt Mueller’s investigation. Mueller’s team may have obtained evidence in the raid of Paul Manafort’s home that was not covered by the search warrant. That could be problematic.

In a surprise raid on July 26th, FBI agents busted into Manafort’s home in Alexandria, Virginia to collect documents and other materials related to the FBI probe into whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians. At the time, Manafort’s attorney raised concerns about how the raid was conducted. In order for the feds to obtain a warrant, a federal judge would have to determine that probable cause existed that a crime was committed. As part of the warrant, investigators attached an affidavit which contained a list of items that FBI agents hoped to collect. That’s where the trouble appears to be in Manafort’s case.

As a legal website, we were immediately drawn to the revelation that evidence was collected that may not have been covered by the warrant. That’s a serious development, and one that Manafort’s attorneys will no doubt seize upon. But, is it necessarily illegal? Did the agents do anything wrong? It’s not clear. It certainly could raise some serious constitutional issues that could taint the investigation.

Not a Crazy Conspiracy Theory:

That Manafort, et al, Conspired Against the Government….

Manafort and Gates were charged in a 12-count indictment with conspiracy to launder money, making false statements and other charges. They are expected to make their first court appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Deborah A. Robinson at 1:30 p.m.

The charges against Manafort and Gates did not reference the Trump campaign, a point President Trump noted on Twitter Monday. “Sorry, but this is years ago, before Paul Manafort was part of the Trump campaign. But why aren’t Crooked Hillary & the Dems the focus?????” Trump wrote.

Read the Indictment.

nimbus-image-1509384639108

Dept. of Justice [SIC].

There you have it. The government concocts a 31-page narrative of allegedly suspicious behavior – a conspiracy against it (not the normal other way around). That’s perfectly reasonable and lawful; might as well dispense with the formality of a trial. Done deal. No conspiracy craziness here.

On the other hand, if you dare to mention that … what’s it called again? That Constitution, those rights people supposedly have in a free country, then you are a nut. In fact, any outside, critical thinking is evidence of insanity. Call the men in the white coats. You should be ashamed of yourself. Many of your liberal and conservative friends will point this out to you. Get it straight.

Something about the goose and the gander…
