I write a good bit here on a vast array of topics – usually centered on the evils of government or cigars (sometimes the evil of government as it affects cigars). Two of my stories from the past month have been seconded (not repeated or copied) by other sources. I like to think I’m a trend-setter.

May 24, 2016 I posted Paul Ryan Rescues Banksters, Globalists about Paul Ryan’s dastardly plans to force you (all of you) to pay Puerto Rico’s debts – all on behalf of the banksters of the world.

I said then:

The bailout will happen; consider it a done deal. Really $2 Billion or the whole $70 Billion is but a barely noticeable drop in the fed’s ocean of economic woe. Things like this add up though. When the whole system comes crashing down don’t count on the banksters to be found let alone lend a hand. They’re gathering the last of the cash (yours and mine) and preparing to flee. However, come hell or high water, the politicians will be easier to find. They’ll still expect to be re-elected. Remember this story and all the others. Hold them accountable or rinse and repeat with similar results.

U.S. Rep. Dave Brat (R-VA), who actually has a Ph.D. in economics, has caught on to the theft and deception:

“This makes the bill truly Orwellian — it remove[d] the consent of the Puerto Rican people and creates a fiefdom for unelected officials chosen by President Obama.

“As economist Thomas Sowell said, ‘The fatal attraction of government is that it allows busybodies to impose decisions on others without paying any price themselves.’ Congress can’t even get its own fiscal house in order, but [passed] a bill to solve Puerto Rico’s problems.

“This bill should [have been] subject to ratification by the Puerto Rican legislature or a vote from the Puerto Rican people. As it stands, I [opposed] PROMESA because it turns free citizens into subjects.”

He’s only talking about the loss of autonomy of the people of Puerto Rico; the rest of the American people will be losing their money. Pay up, subjects.

Yesterday, after reading an alarming story from Facebook and verifying it I blasted out The Modern Highwaymen. It’s about police theft of your money via civil forfeiture:

The pigs have a clever trick to rob you called “civil asset forfeiture”. There’s nothing civil about it; they just seize your property (usually cash) and, if you want it back, you have to jump through burdensome legal hoops. Most victims don’t bother. I’d say 90%+ of the cash stolen is forfeited to the criminal state – I’ve watched in court before (case after case of The State vs. $943.72 and so on). The same police who absolutely will not lift a finger to help violent crime victims are more than wiling to steal your cash.

Today Martin Armstrong (via LewRockwell.com) agrees:

This is simply nullifying the Constitution. You have absolutely ZERO rights. He can rob you of everything and leave you with not even enough money for gas. The police have become the criminals. This is precisely how Rome fell. When they could not pay the army, they began sacking their own cities. This is exactly what the police are doing now and there is nobody to defend us against this new criminal organization.

Just stay out of Oklahoma at all costs. If other states follow, you better migrate to another country and fast. Look for a country not based on common law (English countries). This will destroy the freedom to travel for broke police have become highway criminals with guns.

I would love to post articles to LRW. I may have to contact their editor – Lew himself I presume.

If You Have Nothing to Worry About, Then Why Did You Call Me?

The police are supposed to keep us safe from harm.  Government was allegedly instituted solely to protect our rights, integrity and freedom (all lies).  If this was true then Clover would be correct in his oft stated mantra, “if you ain’t doing nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about.”

I don’t believe that.  I have been in the system and around it.  Even now I can smell its faint odor of maliciousness.  Yuck!

A long time ago I penned a piece called How to Interact with the Police.  It was a short guide on protecting oneself from unnecessary prosecution.  I have given several speeches on the subject and advice innumerable to individuals over the years.  In short, just don’t talk to them.  They are necessarily your friends.

Many cops do a great job enforcing the law while preserving individual freedoms.  Many others do not.  Consult YouTube for countless abuses of police power in America.  Half of the videos there concern people who know and assert their rights and successfully escape the dragnet of police corruption.  The other half are of innocent people tased, arrested or murdered by the police, usually for nothing.

In most of those latter cases the “suspect” either invited the police into his life or answered their questions.  Don’t do either.  There is a reason you have the right to remain silent.  This is one commonality between police reality shows and police drama shows (both big hits in Amerika).  The suspect always breaks down and confesses or says enough for the police to link him to a crime.  This happens in real life too. Oftentimes, the only evidence the cops have of any wrongdoing is the defendant’s statement or admission.  Don’t do their job for them.

Don’t talk and you’ll likely walk.

As for calling them or inviting them into your home – never do it.  Police are like vampires.  They usually need permission to enter but once inside they proceed to destroy. Again, don’t help them.

My friends over at LewRockwell.com have posted another grand article on this topic – a video with instructions.  Both are worth a review.  Know your rights when dealing with the government’s armed agents.

(Don’t be cornered.)

This problem of malicious police exploration can effect anyone, even the police.  A friend of mine, an agent with a powerful federal police agency, called me recently.  He knows I no longer actively practice criminal defense but he wanted my unofficial opinion anyway. He happens to be a lawyer himself, by the way.

It seems his agency is conducting some internal investigation into something trivial, something which does not involve my friend.  However, despite his doing nothing wrong, for some reason he seemed to have something to worry about.  Explain that, Clover.

Given his position, his predicament may be a little more nuanced than that of the average citizen.  However, knowing very little, all I could advise him was to say nothing. If the matter concerns written records, then the investigators will have them to review. Let the record speak for itself.  There is no need to explain or expand anything.  Such actions might lead in a direction no rational person could foresee.

I told him, “You know how you guys are.”  He seemed a little offended by the statement but sheepishly agreed with me.  Investigators are usually on a fishing expedition and not using some concrete science as portrayed on television.  They need a suspect (or witness) to tell them something in order to have any chance of prosecuting anyone. Don’t be that someone.  Don’t effectively prosecute yourself.  Don’t talk.

Today I am pleased to welcome the very first advertiser to the Perrin blog – Top Shelf Cigars of Augusta, GA!!  The Top Shelf Ad appears on the left side bar of every page (scroll down a little and you’ll see it).  Just click the Image and you’ll be routed directly to Mr. Wilder’s magical world of fine tobacco!  When I say this business is Perrin Approved, I mean it.  I’m typing this from the comfort of the Top Shelf lounge right now.

Yesterday was the 3rd biggest day ever at the site.  Thank you so very much.  I may never compete with Drudge of CNN but your support is absolutely amazing.

I stumbled across a few outrageous news stories today while taking a break from some appellate work and professor applications.  It occurred to me to write a column or two, and I may in the future, for now I present the stories as links, below.  Both come from http://lewrockwell.com/, one of the best libertarian sites on the web.

First, Mac Salvo, from http://www.shtfplan.com/ writes about a Florida high school student turned hero who WAS SUSPENDED FROM SCHOOL FOR DISARMING A GUNMAN WHO THREATENED TO KILL ANOTHER STUDENT!!!  See: http://lewrockwell.com/slavo/slavo145.html.  This story would be unbelievable if we didn’t all know we live in an insane police state.  This young MAN needs to sue the school board over it’s idiotic decision.  At the very least he should refuse to return to such a F–ked up school.  If there’s any alternative (home schooling, GED, private school) he should take it.  A private school nearby should give him free tuition.  The community needs to rally around this hero and demand the entire school board and anyone involved in this injustice resign immediately.  These thugs should be run out-of-town.  If not, they should be recalled or booted during the next election.  Read the story!

Second, the great Jeff Berwick of http://dollarvigilante.com/ writes about President Sotoro’s plans to further enslave our children.  His article is called The Coming Hunger Games – http://lewrockwell.com/berwick/berwick86.1.html.  I was just talking to a friend last night about the Prez’s 2008 comments about wanting a domestic army as strong as the regular army.  We do not need such a force.  We already have DHS purchasing tanks by the 1,000s and ammunition by the 100s of million of rounds and NorthCom stationing regular troops within our borders.  What we really need is State civilian VOLUNTEER militias!  We do not need to sacrifice our children at the altar of satanic government.  The greasy, despicable Charlie Rangel (D-NY) has introduced H.R. 748 for this purpose.  Write your representative and senators and command them to not only defeat this evil, but sanction Rangel for daring to bring it to the House.  Read Jeff’s article.  He advocates taking your children and fleeing the USSA (his business).  I will use a different approach – one from the Hunger Games.  If my beloved daughter is ever drafted for this or any other reason, I will volunteer to take her place.  Then, let the fragging commence!

Enough is enough!  I’m fired up, but for now I have to get back to work.  Take action folks!

That’s A Stop Sign

I read a lot of Eric Peters’s columns on the death of automotive freedom in the USSA.  He’s one of the great commentators at http://lewrockwell.com/, the wonderful anti-state web powerhouse.  Maybe, someday when Lew lowers his standards a bit, you might find yours truly ramblin away there.

Eric spends a good bit of time writing about the stupidity of Amerikan traffic laws.  I think he did a piece recently on mobile radar/speed trailers.  The police put these idiotic contraptions in odd places in an effort to harass the driving public.

stupid trailer

(You’ve seen this thing.)

I was on my way home from liquor stor…er…candy shop one fine afternoon when I encountered another of these radar RoboCops.  It was placed at the entrance of a lovely residential neighborhood I enjoy cutting through occasionally on my way home.   I actually stopped in the road to take the above picture. Thus, the machine had the effect of causing me to cease speeding and start blocking traffic – dumb robot.  Usually, if I am fairly confident no actual officers are around I hit the accelerator and make the machine stroke out (as best I can driving a 10,000 lb anvil).  Some models have blue lights that flash angrily when you hit a certain illegal speed.

As a conditional word, I almost always drive as safely and efficiently as possible.  My number one goal is to get where I going, number two is getting there without endangering anyone.  You’ll recall that George Carlin once said something to the effect: “Have you ever noticed that anyone who drives slower than you is an idiot, and anyone driving faster is a maniac?”  This is really true.  I’ve driven all over the good old USSA and can make the following observation.  Nearly all drivers may be classified into three categories (about equal thirds, too): 1) those of us who are competent and courteous; 2) those who are completely unqualified to drive and struggle to control their vehicles; and 3) those who just don’t give a damn.  Where do you fall?

Stop sign, stop sign.

Oh yes, about 30 seconds after I passed the radar R2D2 I came upon a deserted intersection and proceeded to turn right.  As there were no other cars anywhere around and visibility was excellent I confidently did a California role.  As I made the turn I saw a County Marshall standing in someone’s yard (likely there to harass them for violating some ridiculous, cookie-cutter ordinance).  He looked at me and pointed and said, “That’s a stop sign.”  My title is now explained.  Had I been a smarted person I could have made some witty remark.  As is, I just rolled my eyes and waved him off dismissively.  After 3 seconds of quick reflection I drove away speedily.  He had a badge and a gun after all.  I generally have, as a result of my profession, a good relationship with many area law officers, many of whom are decent people.  I did not recognize this dude and I did not like his lecturing attitude.  Sensitive me.

My escape was successful but hindered by the one blemish in this quaint, out of place, New England-feeling subdivision (other than the cops and their robots) – speed humps – lots of them.  A speed hump, for those you fortunate enough not to know is a speed bump which has been stretched out about six feet.  Like the robots they are intended to slow a vehicle by causing the driver and passengers discomfort.  Torture, really.  And, totally unneeded in this particular place.  The streets curve constantly, back and forth, and the terrain is all hills.  Physics dictate that all but the most foolhardy will obey the posted speed limit out of necessity.

Speed bumps and humps kill numerous people ever year – mainly because they slow responding ambulances and cost precious, life-saving seconds.  That’s a rant for another day.  Speed humps, robots, and stop signs.  Oh my!
