Here. We. Go. This is what could be my most controversial issue yet, especially if you’re not into facts. I’m proud MB published this one, even with a disclaimer (not the first time). But, this TPC column (and this blog post) does represent the first time I’ve ever used (((ECHOES))), that Alt-Right touch of rhetoric. It’s probably not going to be a usual thing here or in the CFF annals but, this time, it fit in well.

I make some observations herein. I observe some text and history. I make some predictions and I give my opinions. If you think I’m wrong, then, by all means, point out where and how. Be specific. Maybe I’ve missed some other version of the Constitution, some other Roll Call votes, some other Bills and Resolutions, and some other political statements.

*ed.note – as is always the case, just a quick reminder that the views expressed by author P. Lovett do not necessarily represent or reflect the views of The Piedmont Chronicles, nor its staff or Editor, M.McCart. This piece is…heavy, and could very well be construed by some to come across a certain way; however, as a fierce, fierce defender of the 1st amendment, I never had any doubt I wouldn’t publish it. Or, if you will, I may not agree with what you say, “but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it.” As always, we appreciate you reading The Chronicles. – MBM

The Most Special Resolution in the World:

House Resolution 183 (2019), The Craven Admission of Total Failure Act

Not too long ago, freshman Congress Critter Ilhan Omar (D-Somalia) tweeted something about “AIPAC,” or the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. It was something about the inordinate amount of influence the group and its constituents wield in the United States Empire. The lovely little lady from Mogadishu (really) has since deleted the tweet, but not before it caused a considerable stir amongst the perpetually perturbed – a stir replete with 10,001 cries of “anti-Semitism.” You might have heard something about all of this.

What better way to refute claims that Jews in America hold too much power and influence than to have the entire American House of Representatives [SIC] vote to condemn one woman for daring to suggest that Jews in America hold too much power and influence.

That’s just what they did. Find ye HERE the Roll Call vote, number 108, 407 – 23 in favor of House Res. 183, the waaaay-too-long-entitled Condemning anti-Semitism as hateful expressions of intolerance that are contradictory to the values and aspirations that define the people of the United States and condemning anti-Muslim discrimination and bigotry against minorities as hateful expressions of intolerance that are contrary to the values and aspirations of the United States [Act].

The 23 rodents who voted against the Resolution did so because they felt the measure should have concentrated solely upon “anti-Semitism,” rather than on the laundry list of grievance groups actually included. The 407 rodents who voted in favor – including Omar (to her credit?) –  did so only after adding a laundry list of offended minority groups. (More on that in a moment).

Not to suggest, in any way, that Jews really do wield ridiculously outsized power in America, this is the second time, this year, Congress has entertained legislation to affirm Jewish supremacy. The first was S. 1 (2019), which passed the Senate 77-23 which, should it become law, could conceivably outlaw columns like this one. (Your author quakes with fear). Yes, as the numbering insinuates, this was the first Bill brought in the Senate this year – a Bill dedicated to the authority, the supremacy of a foreign power. America first?

Now, for the laundry list:

Whereas the first amendment to the Constitution established the United States as a country committed to the principles of tolerance and religious freedom, and the 14th amendment to the Constitution established equal protection of the laws as the heart of justice in the United States;

Whereas adherence to these principles is vital to the progress of the American people and the diverse communities and religious groups of the United States;

Whereas whether from the political right, center, or left, bigotry, discrimination, oppression, racism, and imputations of dual loyalty threaten American democracy and have no place in American political discourse;

Whereas white supremacists in the United States have exploited and continue to exploit bigotry and weaponize hate for political gain, targeting traditionally persecuted peoples, including African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and other people of color, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, the LGBTQ community, immigrants, and others with verbal attacks, incitement, and violence;

… blah, blah, blah, more bullshit …

Resolved, That the House of Representatives—

(1) rejects the perpetuation of anti-Semitic stereotypes in the United States and around the world, including the pernicious myth of dual loyalty and foreign allegiance, especially in the context of support for the United States-Israel alliance;

…

Tolerance and the heart of justice. Principles vital to the progress of the American people and the diverse communities and religious groups of the United States. African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and other people of color, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, the LGBTQ community, immigrants, and others. Hmmm. White supremacist exploitation the culprit behind black Muslim Tweets.

Before one comes to the Fourteenth Amendment or even the First Amendment, one necessarily reads the Preamble of the Constitution, which tells one exactly who these “Americans” are. They are the POSTERITY of the Founders. This is confirmed by Preamble, The Declaration of Independence, the unanimous composition of the Founders, and by the original Naturalization Act of 1790. “Americans” are – or were – white Christian Europeans of good character, of English origin if at all possible.

The one group not included in that laundry list of sorrows is the very same group who constitute the actual, intended citizenry of this Nation. Interesting, and an admission. Despite Omar’s words, were We really the target? Are we the “white supremacists” they mentioned? Projection much?

…

Ann Coulter, the wall, Trump

Ann Coulter is keeping the heat on Trump to put up or shut up about the Big Beautiful Wall. She wants to know the exact location (of what’s already been built) and host a party there.

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter issued a put-up-or-shut-up demand Tuesday to President Donald Trump, challenging him to identify exactly where his administration has erected new border barriers between the U.S. and Mexico.

Trump claimed Saturday on Twitter that the ‘[m]ajor sections of Wall are being built.’ He tweeted a day earlier that his long-promised border wall ‘is being built and is well under construction.’

Coulter told DailyMail.com in an email that she wants details.

‘The President’s tweet says he’s already building the Wall. Could he give me the precise latitude and longitude of its location?’ she asked. ‘Also, how many miles long is it?’

‘I want to throw a party there and need the exact coordinates,’ she wrote.

I’ll bring some chips.

This attack, unlike so many others more popular, wasn’t a hoax:

Police on Saturday arrested a transgender woman they say attacked a white couple in the Bronx and may be behind a series of attacks in upper Manhattan as well.

Investigators say the transgender suspect, who is black, confronted a couple on E. 187th Street near Crotona Avenue in the Bronx. The attacker allegedly approached the couple and asked the woman if she was white before pepper spraying her.

The couple was too afraid to show their faces on camera, but tearfully described what happened in an exclusive interview with CBS2.

“She pepper sprayed me, I couldn’t see anything,” the woman said. “It really sucked because I knew it was a hate crime.”

The man says he tried to approach the suspect but backed off when she pulled a knife. Moments later, they helped lead police to 37-year-old Thomas Herd, who was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she is set to undergo a mental evaluation before facing charges.

I doubt Congress or their AIPAC masters will care much about this story.

The demise of Dick’s Sporting Bads is taking a little longer than I expected though it is progressing.

Since then sales at Dick’s have declined, despite a strong U.S. economy and consumer spending, Mr. Stack has blamed much of the decline on its stance on guns, saying some gun enthusiasts have stopped shopping at the chain.

For the fiscal year ended Feb. 2, same-store sales fell 3.1%. The company said it expects comparable sales to be flat to up to 2% this fiscal year. Dick’s predicted same-store sales will return to growth in the second quarter, but also set annual earnings targets that were below Wall Street’s forecasts.

Dick’s stock fell 9% to $35.24 in morning trading as the broader market was slightly higher. The stock had rallied about 25% since the start of the year.

Down, down, and away!

America, EU, Europe, law, travel

Planning a trip to old Europe? Make it sooner than later or else you’ll need some extra paperwork.

Americans traveling to Europe will soon have to add a new item to their packing lists.

Starting in 2021, the European Union will require US visitors to get a pre-approved, visa-like travel pass issued by the European Travel Information and Authorization System.

The permit will cost about $7.90 and will have to be requested at least four days before the journey—making romantic last-minute jaunts to Paris impossible.

But permission will be good for three years and for multiple trips in and out of the Schengen Zone, which covers 26 countries.

Under current rules, Americans can travel in Europe without a visa for up to 90 days.

The new requirement will serve as a security check, EU officials said Friday.

Undocumented “minors,” “refugee” “women and children,” all of them, fleeing “war and oppression” are welcomed to walk on in. You? You need a Visa.

This is the product of a breakdown between the idiotic, globalist EU and the idiotic, globalist USE. A handful of Schengen countries are playing hardball on accepting “refugees.” The EU isn’t happy and put pressure on the USE to act. The USE didn’t do enough, fast enough. So, this.

I’d expect a tit for tat from DC and the beginning of a severe tightening of travel liberty between the old world and the new. Think about how that might work out for you and people like you in Europe. The goal, I think, is to eventually eliminate travel (and migration) between the Old and the New, as both sink deeper into the Homoglobo abyss. ***The “refugees” will be unaffected, worry not…***

Chairman Powell may be correct:

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said in an interview aired Sunday that he does not think he can be fired by President Donald Trump.

While continuing to avoid direct comment on the president’s withering criticism of central bank interest rate policy, Powell told CBS’ “60 Minutes” that Trump can’t remove him from office.

“The law is clear that I have a four-year term, and I fully intend to serve it,” Powell told the news magazine show. Asked directly if he thought Trump could fire him, he said, “no.”

GITMO it is, Mr. Enemy Combatant!

Just when you think all Republicans are wimps, this:

A handful of male lawmakers dressed up for a hearing they presided over Tuesday in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, donning pearl necklaces as activists testified about their experiences with gun violence.

Images from the statehouse — where legislators were considering arguments over a bill that would make it easier to take guns away from potentially dangerous people — caromed across social media as critics lobbed accusations of sexism and insensitivity at the necklace-wearing men.

The implication was clear, they said: These politicians thought gun-control activists were “clutching their pearls” in overwrought and self-righteous outrage — and, specifically, female outrage.

The advocates, who were volunteers with the group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, said they felt mocked, as if some of the lawmakers were not interested in hearing how gun violence has affected their lives.

“It really is shameful to behave that way when your constituents are being brave enough to share their stories,” Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, said in an interview. “They clearly did not come to this hearing with open minds or compassion for their constituents.”

Find that spirit, keep it, and you might actually conserve something.

From first to worst, or visa versa. Some are exactly what you’d expect. Others aren’t what one might imagine. All forms of taxes are equalized or adjusted as an equivalent of income.

50. Alaska
• Taxes paid as percentage of income: 6.5 percent
• Income per capita: $57,179 (10th highest)
• Income tax collections per capita: $0 (tied – the lowest)
• Property tax collections per capita: $2,001 (11th highest)
• General sales tax collections per capita: $0 (tied – the lowest)

49. South Dakota
• Taxes paid as percentage of income: 7.1 percent
• Income per capita: $48,818 (23rd highest)
• Income tax collections per capita: $0 (tied – the lowest)
• Property tax collections per capita: $1,381 (24th lowest)
• General sales tax collections per capita: $1,124 (6th highest)

48. Wyoming
• Taxes paid as percentage of income: 7.1 percent
• Income per capita: $57,346 (9th highest)
• Income tax collections per capita: $0 (tied – the lowest)
• Property tax collections per capita: $2,347 (6th highest)
• General sales tax collections per capita: $1,097 (11th highest)

A guide if you’re considering a move.

Constitution

I saw this story and sat on it for most of the week.

Elections provide the bread-and-circuses staged drama that is passed off as democracy.

Despite the anything-goes quality of American culture, one thing remains verboten to say publicly: the U.S. Constitution has failed. The reason why this painfully obvious fact cannot be discussed publicly is that it gives the lie to the legitimacy of the entire status quo.

The Constitution was intended to limit 1) the power of government over the citizenry 2) the power of each branch of government and 3) the power of political/financial elites over the government and the citizenry, as the Founders recognized the intrinsic risks of an all-powerful state, an all-powerful state dominated by one branch of government and the risks of a financial elite corrupting the state to serve their interests above those of the citizenry.

The Constitution has failed to place limits on the power of government, on the emergence of unaccountable states-within-a-state agencies and on the political power of financial elites.

I tend to agree with the whole article. But… The primary purpose of the Constitution was to create a strong central government. That it certainly did. A success?

The weekly reason why no sane person should ever trust social media: Patients, health data experts accuse Facebook of exposing personal info:

A group of patients and health data experts is accusing Facebook of misleading users about how their personal health information can be manipulated and exposed without patients’ explicit permission.

In a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) complaint released publicly on Tuesday, the group alleges that Facebook prompts its users to join online medical support groups under the guise that they are “private” – but does not make clear that users could expose their health data when they join those groups.

Of course, why would anyone ever give Facebook sensitive health information otherwise protected by privacy law? (Why give them anything?) And, why the shock and horror when the Gangsters do the predictable?

At any rate, in their FTC Complaint, the “victims” play with fine calculations:
