Nigel Farage, Putin, Tucker Carlson

But…

Mr. Farage appeared to maybe kind of reinforce the theory of why Tucker interviewed Putin at the very late hour he did and the attendant failure of the primary purpose for the interview.

Nigel agreed with Ben, replying: “He did ask about the journalist, to which Putin, of course, had a very strong answer, which is because we caught him red handed – so you can believe that, you can disbelieve that.

“But not to have asked about the state of democracy in Russia, not to have asked about Navalny was a major failing of the interview.

“And now in line with what’s happened today. It does look like Tucker failed, frankly.”

Putin would have had a strong answer about Navalny, which is that the Russians also caught him red handed – on video. Democracy… Democracy. The state of “democracy” in Russia is also strong because it is, as Emmanuel Todd notes, a form of authoritarian democracy. Whole Process Democracy, as the CPC calls it, might be better phraseology.

As for Farage, maybe he, like so many in his circles, has Navalny on the brain right now. Literally no one else does, especially people in Russia.

Democracy, Navalny, Tucker’s mission failed… Nah, coincidence.

May gives resignation notice:

TEARFUL Theresa May today finally admitted her time was up and quit as Prime Minister insisting: “I’ve done my best”.

The PM was forced to resign after she failed to deliver Brexit and lost the support of her own MPs – but will continue in office as a lame duck until July.

Meet Theresa May, PM for Maidenhead. On Wednesday, assuming the Queen allows and so decrees, Mrs. May will become England’s second woman Prime Minister. In terms of history, she has big shoes to fill following Margaret Thatcher.

With Nigel Farage. UK Express.

She became leader of the Conservative Party only today; her statement:

11 July 2016

Theresa May made the following statement after confirmation of her selection as leader of the Conservative Party: “I am honoured and humbled to have been chosen by the Conservative Party to become its leader. I would like to pay tribute to the other candidates during the election campaign, and I would like to pay tribute to Andrea Leadsom for the dignity that she has shown today. During this campaign, my case has been based on three things. First, the need for strong, proven leadership to steer us through what will be difficult and uncertain economic and political times. The need of course to negotiate the best deal for Britain in leaving the EU and to forge a new role for ourselves in the world. Brexit means Brexit and we’re going to make a success of it. Second, we need to unite our country. And third, we need a strong, new, and positive vision for the future of our country. A vision of a country that works not for the privileged few but works for every one of us. Because we’re going to give people more control over their lives. That’s how together we will build a better Britain.”

If she’s sincere about working for the people, not the elites, then this may be a positive step for the UK. People need more control of their lives. They need breathing room from London and secession from the EU.

Mr. Farage has recently criticized May in typical Farage fashion, mainly over her failure as Home Secretary to curb immigration into the country from the non-West. He also seems to think her rather cold. The Home Secretary yields some power but cannot operate in a vacuum. I hope, it light of BREXIT and with her new authority, she will make good on previous promises to stem the flow of handout-seekers and criminals.

Speaking of criminal, it’s interesting that the UK can find a woman worthy of high office who isn’t now or hasn’t been recently under felony investigation by Scotland Yard or MI5. Cold or not, I hear she keeps a clean email server.

The people having voted to leave the socialists and miscreants in Brussels, the matter now rests with Queen Elizabeth. God save the Queen; God save Britain, and good luck, Mrs. May.

Wands and Guns: Fallout From BREXIT

Fifty-two percent of the British people favored leaving the EU on Thursday. That leaves forty-eight percent on the losing end – and more than a few are vocalizing their dismay.

One of the “remain” losers left furious by the will of the people is J.K. Rowling of Harry Potter fame. Mrs. Rowling has earned over $1 Billion dollars from her popular series about adolescent wizards. I’ve never read any of the books though my daughter is a big fan, she attended a pre-release party last night for the next Potter tome. I generally don’t like or read fantasy beyond Tolkien though I am considering A Throne of Bones by Vox Day. Anywho…

Rowling lashed out at voters with the worst she could muster – calling them “a bunch of mini-Trumps”. I fail to see how a sovereign and independent England will affect her book sales. She is likely more concerned about her portfolio at present – British billionaires lost a combined $5 Billion on Friday. They bet big but wrong.

Some have seen the young wizard Potter as an opponent of gun control or, at least, wand control, due to a self-defense incident he encountered in one of the books. “Rowling thus appears to embrace the most extreme argument for an individual right to possess weapons- that those weapons may be required in defense against one’s own government.” Again, I have not read any of the books and know nothing about Rowling’s personal stance on such issues. If the above quote is accurate, then it is a wonderful thing, BREXIT views aside.

BREXIT has unleashed other pro-gun sentiments within the UK. Nigel Farage, naturally, is one:

Nigel Farage has called for firearm laws to be relaxed, calling the current ban on handguns “ludicrous”.

The Ukip leader criticised the “kneejerk” restrictions on handguns imposed after the 1996 Dunblane massacre in which Thomas Hamilton killed 16 schoolchildren and a teacher before shooting himself.

The laws were brought in by Sir John Major, the then Tory prime minister, and extended to a total ban by Tony Blair’s Labour government in 1997.

Asked about gun controls, Farage said: “I think proper gun licensing is something we’ve done in this country responsibly and well for a long time, and I think the kneejerk legislation that Blair brought in that meant that the British Olympic pistol team have to go to France to even practise was just crackers.

“If you criminalise handguns then only the criminals carry the guns. It’s really interesting that since Blair brought that piece of law in, gun crime doubled in the next five years in this country.”

If BREXIT does nothing more than weaken gun control, it is worth the effort. Farage is dead on with his assessment of crime rising in the absence of firearms – a universally documented experience. Britain and other EU countries have the kind of gun laws American liberals salivate over. Those countries also import a high number of non-Western types who, as a group, have a higher penchant for criminal activity than the natives. This is not a good combination. It echoes the thoughts of Scott Adams on Why Gun Control Can’t Work:

On average, Democrats (that’s my team*) use guns for shooting the innocent. We call that crime.

On average, Republicans use guns for sporting purposes and self-defense.

…

So it seems to me that gun control can’t be solved because Democrats are using guns to kill each other – and want it to stop – whereas Republicans are using guns to defend against Democrats. Psychologically, those are different risk profiles. And you can’t reconcile those interests, except on the margins. For example, both sides might agree that rocket launchers are a step too far. But Democrats are unlikely to talk Republicans out of gun ownership because it comes off as “Put down your gun so I can shoot you.”

Still, gun grabbers in America are hard at work to disarm the would-be victims of crime, personal or governmental. Hawaii is now the first state to place it’s registered gun owners into an FBI database for the monitoring of criminal activity – the first step towards confiscation. That’s the only reason for such a program. The kind of people who would register and submit to such a system are the types Farage and Adams describe – those who would defend themselves against criminals. Criminals don’t care and won’t comply – something about being a criminal.

Currently the FBI program “Rap Back”is only used to monitor people under criminal investigation, like Hillary Clinton, or those in sensitive positions of trust, like Hillary Clinton. Now, the innocent people in Hawaii who are not criminal suspects will be treated like they are. The grabbers would love to expand this program nationwide.

I say Hawaii should use BREXIT as a model and rap themselves back to being an independent island kingdom. Then, they could have all the gun control they can handle. They’ll experience an increase in violent crime but that’s their business. Leave the rest of us alone.

Peter Schiff, Nigel Farage, and Ron Paul, side by side by side!  It’s like the Avengers.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZap5n3zGZ8&feature=player_embedded.  Nigel Farage is a statesman for ALL Westerners: “The modern-day pantheon of idiots that are running countries around the world…”

Syria’s heating up … some more…  When your Congresscritter or local idiot suggests U.S. intervention, just remind them how many dangerous Syrians you’ve seen locally.  So far, I have counted 0.  Watcha got, Loren?

President Sotoro addressed the soon-to-be unemployed graduates of Ohio State University.  “Unfortunately, you’ve grown up hearing voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that’s at the root of all our problems. Some of these same voices also do their best to gum up the works. They’ll warn that tyranny always lurking just around the corner. You should reject these voices. Because what they suggest is that our brave, and creative, and unique experiment in self-rule is somehow just a sham with which we can’t be trusted.” – El Presidente Sotoro Kenya El Muhammad, the Lusterless…

Kids, this is what is known as a liar admitting (in his own way) the truth.  “So the wolf would say when cornered by the hounds.”  He says there’s nothing to fear, you should be afraid; just do the opposite of whatever he says.

Speaking of wolves!  Season* is nearing!  In the meantime, you can enjoy that work of fiction I mentioned a week or so back.  It’s coming in the near future after I cut it down a bit to blogable size.  A few of you have heard me tell parts of it before.  It’s called The Fable of the Wolves and the Tiger!  As John Boy’s Karl Childers would say, “Them wolves, they made that tiger powerful angry.   Hmmmmmmmm.”

Dangers from the gym: over-doing and under-doing it.  I, like so many, am capable of hitting the weights (and the bag) a little too hard sometimes in an over-zealous fit of fitness rage.  That leads to injuries.  Currently, mine are minor and will heal themselves.  The usual remedy is to take a little time off.  Lately, I’ve been working out-of-town much of the week so my gym time is limited.  This has led to the interesting junction of over-doing it and under-doing it at the same time.  Not being able to work out as planned leads to a desire to go extra hard when time allows.  This, in turn, aggravates existing injuries.  It also exposes weaknesses incurred from taking time off.  Odd.  A true first-world kind of problem.  My patented exercise plan will have a chapter on how to overcome all of this.  I ramble, send money…

(Google.  Marvel. DC.)

I’m still trying to figure out a name for the program.  Any suggestions?  I considered the Batman Workout but I don’t want to get sued.

By the way, should old Perrin really crack and decide to become a part-time vigilante, who should be the role model?  Batman? Or, Captain America?  Those are the two choices…  More later, enjoy the following, qualifying notes!

*Animal rights friends: By “season” I mean the one for hunting down and destroying evil werewolves**, not the cute Yellowstone variety. 😉

**Evil werewolf lovers: now might be a good time to plan for an alternative hobby….
