Debt and the New Dark Age

Vox Day and Michael Hudson have it right about the doom of debts in society.

Jesus wasn’t just talking about sin when he told us to pray for the forgiveness of our debts. That’s one of the reasons the Pharisees hated him so much. Michael Hudson is interviewed concerning a very important trilogy of economic history he is writing:

MH: The key public concern throughout history has been to prevent debt from crippling society. That aim is what Babylonian and other third-millennium and second-millennium Near Eastern rulers recognized clearly enough, with their mathematical models. To make an ideal society you need the government to control the basic utilities — land, finance, mineral wealth, natural resources and infrastructure monopolies (including the Internet today), pharmaceuticals and health care so their basic services can be supplied at the lowest price.

All this was spelled out in the 19th century by business school analysts in the United States. Simon Patten [1852-1922] who said that public investment is the “fourth factor of production.” But its aim isn’t to make a profit for itself. Rather, it’s to lower the cost of living and of doing business, by providing basic needs either on a subsidized basis or for free. The aim was to create a low-cost society without a rentier class siphoning off unearned income and making this economic rent a hereditary burden on the economy at large. You want to prevent unearned income.

To do that, you need a concept to define economic rent as unearned and hence unnecessary income. A well-managed economy would do what Adam Smith, David Ricardo, John Stuart Mill, Marx and Veblen recommended: It would prevent a hereditary rentier class living off unearned income and increasing society’s economic overhead. It’s okay to make a profit, but not to make extractive monopoly rent, land rent or financial usury rent.

JS: Will human beings ever create such a society?

MH: If they don’t, we’re going to have a new Dark Age.

If an executive order and some attendant regulations can ban bump stocks, then some similar measures could easily make debt (all of it) illegal. Usurers would turn in their notes to the police to be destroyed. Future usury would become a felony. There’s also bankruptcy; if Congress could be bothered to govern, they could involuntarily draft everyone (including the US government, the states, and the cities) into court for mandatory clean-slating.

Or we could just have the dark age.

More Decline, Cultural, Moral, Etc.

The Daily Mail posts some hard numbers and asks an honest question:

Is America becoming Godless? The number of people who have no religion has risen

  • 266 per cent – one third of the population – in three decades
  • People with no religion accounted for 23.1% of the U.S. population in 2018
  • By comparison, Catholics make up 23% and Evangelicals account for 22.5%
  • The three are now statistically tied as the largest religious groups in America
  • Meanwhile, mainline Protestant Christianity has seen a 62.5% decline in believers since 1982, to now account for just 10.8% of the U.S. population

Well, looks like it. And, why are people leaving those “churches?” Maybe it’s because those institutions shun God and His Word in favor of stuff like this:

Dispensationalism first gained a footing through the teachings of John Nelson Darby (1800–82) who strongly influenced the Plymouth Brethren of the 1830s in Ireland and England. According to this teaching, there are (up to) seven ages in the history of man and his relationship to God.

We are currently in the second-to-last age, the time of Grace – the period from the Cross to the Rapture of the Church. The final dispensation will follow: the Millennial Kingdom – A 1000 year reign of Christ on earth, centered in Jerusalem. This dispensation ends with God’s judgment on the final rebellion.

Dispensationalism rejects the notion of supersessionism, still considers the Jewish people as God’s chosen people, and some see the modern State of Israel as resulting in the Israel who will receive the fulfillment of all God’s Old Testament promises.

This view is no longer limited to the small sect that is the Plymouth Brethren. This idea is widely accepted in U.S. Protestant churches, with well-known figures such as John Hagee and Pat Robertson leading the charge.

Around the same time as this dispensationalist idea was being developed, there separately came a desire to restore a Jewish state. Dispensationalism was going nowhere until it met up with this Zionist desire. It was when these two met and wed that the heresy took firm root and gained ever-wider acceptance.

In walks Cyrus Scofield. Who was he?

All that is little different, and no better than the secular good news of the world evil pushed by Satan’s globalists. Meet the new, hip, cool Deep State favorite, Pete O’Butt…something.

“I’m reluctant to comment on another person’s faith, but I would say it is hard to look at this president’s actions and believe that they’re the actions of somebody who believes in God,” Buttigieg said.

“I just don’t understand how you can be as worshipful of your own self as he is and be prepared to humble yourself before God. I’ve never seen him humble himself before anyone. And the exaltation of yourself, especially a self that’s about wealth and power, could not be more at odds with at least my understanding of the teachings of the Christian faith,” he added.

Some people, more than a few think this character, not abstaining per St. Paul’s admonishments, is a worthy moral leader. Really. And, he is … just as the Pedo Qweens are good moral leaders for our children.

According to the investigation by MassResistance, which compiled records, a Houstonian by the name of William Travis Dees was incarcerated and listed as a high risk sex offender in 2004 after he abused multiple children.

Dees is now a member of the Space City Sisters, the group claims, a drag queen organization which conducts Drag Queen Story Hour for children at the Houston Public Library.

After months of investigation, MassResistance said they have been able to identify Dees as a Space City Sister who has multiple aliases.

Space City Sissies sounds like the band that might perform at your local Rock ‘n Roll, Cotton Candy, Feel Good, Mega Church. You know, where everyone! is welcome. Everyone except Jesus.

Bribery, in other words. This is how it works. This is “your” system. I’m a little surprised that some people are shocked to discover it just now.

Each year, state lawmakers across the U.S. introduce thousands of bills dreamed up and written by corporations, industry groups and think tanks.

Disguised as the work of lawmakers, these so-called “model” bills get copied in one state Capitol after another, quietly advancing the agenda of the people who write them.

A two-year investigation by USA TODAY, The Arizona Republic  and the Center for Public Integrity reveals for the first time the extent to which special interests have infiltrated state legislatures using model legislation.

USA TODAY and the Republic found at least 10,000 bills almost entirely copied from model legislation were introduced nationwide in the past eight years, and more than 2,100 of those bills were signed into law.

The investigation examined nearly 1 million bills in all 50 states and Congress using a computer algorithm developed to detect similarities in language. That search – powered by the equivalent of 150 computers that ran nonstop for months – compared known model legislation with bills introduced by lawmakers.

The phenomenon of copycat legislation is far larger. In a separate analysis, the Center for Public Integrity identified tens of thousands of bills with identical phrases, then traced the origins of that language in dozens of those bills across the country.

Yes, that is precisely how democracy works. “Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.” – Mencken.

Facebook = Child Slavery

All you Facebook child picture-posting attention whores are leaving money on the digital table. Who knew, but a photo or two of a (Nigerian) daughter can be worth $10,000, 3 Land Cruisers, and some cows.

OBANLIKU, Nigeria—Monica, 16, is one of two sisters sold as wives to men who found their photographs on their father’s Facebook page and contacted him. She and her 14-year-old younger sister never wanted to get married until they completed their secondary education in Ogbakoko, a small village in Obanliku Local Government Area in Nigeria’s south-central Cross River state. But the teenage sisters fell victims to a culture which subjects little girls, some as young as 10, to de facto slavery through a tradition called “money marriage.”

The sisters belong to the Becheve community, a large tribe of 17 villages in Obanliku where there is a long tradition in which young girls—often referred to as “money women” or “money wives”—are sold in exchange for food or livestock or cash, or to settle debts.

…

Spokespeople for Facebook, when contacted by The Daily Beast, were not familiar with the phenomenon as practiced in the Becheve community.

In other cultures where brides have been auctioned online, measures have been taken to stop the transactions.

Reports of Facebook being used as a tool to facilitate child marriage aren’t unique to Nigeria. Last November, the social media platform came under fire after posts discussing the sale of a 16-year-old girl in South Sudan. The victim was married in the process after her father, in exchange for his daughter, received 530 cows, three Land Cruiser V8 cars and $10,000. The teenager reportedly was bid on by five men, including senior officials in the South Sudanese government.

Best of all, with Farcebook serving as the broker, there’s no need for annoying calls or emails from “the Prince.”

I, for one, am deeply ashamed of Suckerberg for taking the ad down once it was brought to his people’s attention. That was a slap in the face to an age-old vibrant and diverse cultural tradition. Think of the tasty ethnic food. They could use this in Nashville.

Elsewhere, the Brits are crafting some of Zuckerborg’s regulations:

In a joint foreword, the home secretary, Sajid Javid, and the secretary of state for culture, media and sport, Jeremy Wright, say it is time to move beyond self-regulation and set clear standards, backed up by enforcement powers.

Companies will be asked to comply with a code of practice, setting out what steps they are taking to ensure that they meet the duty of care – including by designing products and platforms to make them safer, and pointing users who have suffered harm towards support.

The code of practice is also likely to include the steps companies will be expected to take to combat disinformation, including by using fact-checking services, particularly during election periods, and improving the transparency of political advertising.

Regulated firms will be expected to comply with the code of practice – or explain what other steps they are taking to meet the duty of care. However, many questions are left to the regulator to determine.

Theresa May has repeatedly raised the issue of online harm, and the government has gradually shifted its position, from favouring voluntary self-regulation to backing tougher enforcement.

This won’t bother Zuck. It won’t harm any backward future “refugees” and proposition “citizens.” It will be aimed at you. Censorship, taxes, maybe a social media user’s license – all possible. Then, sometime after they discover all the pictures you weren’t paid to post, your children may sue you for violating their privacy.

2020, broken promises, decline, deep state, Trump

This ain’t looking too good. “Wait two days” turns into “wait one year.”

President Donald Trump on Thursday backed off his threat to shut down the U.S.-Mexico border, marking his second major climbdown this week.

Talking to reporters in the White House, Trump said he would instead give Mexico a “one-year warning” to stop the flow of drugs into the United States and that he would first impose auto tariffs before closing the border.

The reversal comes after fellow Republicans, business groups and even some of his own aides warned him of dire economic consequences if Trump moved forward with his threat.

“The only thing frankly better, but less drastic than closing the border, is to tariff the cars coming in,” Trump said. “We’re going to give them a one-year warning and if the drugs don’t stop or largely stop, we’ll put tariffs on Mexico and products, in particular cars.”

Cars. Drugs. What about the invaders?

The broken promises add up as the “America last” policy manifests. The swamp is deeper than ever. Sodomy is encouraged worldwide. 1.5 million invaders flow in (this year!). Bump stocks banned. Those tax cuts are starting to look kind of expensive. Maybe it’s time to delete the Twitter account, boot Javanka, and get to work.

CH is keeping score.

America first … or whenever:

It’s a shame, how much they hate.

The United States is already an extreme outlier when it comes to the death penalty. We are in the company of the world’s very worst human rights abusers when it comes to the number of people we execute: China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Pakistan, Egypt, and Somalia. More than a hundred countries (that is, most of them) worldwide have abolished the death penalty; some others have death penalty laws on the books, but don’t utilize them.

They just don’t like the good company we’re in. That’s hate. That’s literally worse than Hitler. That’s cruel and unusual.

On the Christchurch, NZ matter:

From the International Desk: The Christchurch Mosque Shooting

When I first heard of the incident at the Al Noor Mosque in New Zealand, my first thought was, “false flag.” The why has to be one or more of three things. One, gun control. Two, fomenting more war in the Middle East, most likely with Iran. Three, to rally more “refugees” into NZ and the West. Someone always wants more war. And, if they can excite Muslims into retaliation and then blame Iran for it, so much the better. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern wants diversity in New Zealand. Period. (She also wants more sodomy, more abortion, and more socialism – go figure). The gun control was a given and is already playing out.

And, no Cletus, “false flag” does not equal “nothing happened.” There were real bullets, real people, and real blood. I know.

I watched the original 17-minute video. I will not link to it nor explain how to find it on the dark web. It’s out there. Most people probably should not partake, though they’ve likely seen far worse “entertainment” from Hellywood. However, I would suggest some of you should watch it. I give two and a half reasons why.

First, if you search for it on Google, you won’t find it. And, some of the first articles that come up are about why you shouldn’t watch it.

Read what Philip Salzman and Paul Craig Roberts have to say about what passes for America and her colleges.

Universities in the 20th century were dedicated to the advancement of knowledge. Scholarship and research were pursued, and diverse opinions were exchanged and argued in the “marketplace of ideas.”

This is no longer the case. Particularly in the social sciences, humanities, education, social work, and law, a single political ideology has replaced scholarship and research, because the ideology presents fixed answers to all questions. And, although the most important thing in universities today is the diversity of race, gender, sexual practice, ethnicity, economic class, and physical and mental capability, there is no longer diversity of opinion. Only those committed to the ideology are admitted to academic staff or administration.

Universities have been transformed by the near-universal adoption of three interrelated theories: postmodernism, postcolonialism, and social justice. These theories and their implications will be explored here.

There Is No Truth; Nothing Is Good or Bad

The great shame is that most of the students do not know and do not care. Neither do their idiot parents. Neither do other idiots. Maybe they should.

Add in the second- and third-generation migrants, and you’re looking at around 85 million foreigners in a population of 310 million. That’s why I said, on a recent Darkstream, that the level of violence that can be reasonably anticipated in a US-breakdown scenario is Cultural Revolution-magnitude, which would indicate fatalities in the 50M to 100M range.

That’s Vox Day’s assessment. I was thinking 50 – 80 million. Another shame is that, again, nearly none care. (The greatest shame may be that 80 – 100M is too few).

Facebook, government, regulation, told you so, TPC, Zuckerberg

Zuck wants to protect you and your private data. Let that sink in. Come closer, little girl, I’ve got some candy… Of course, the only known way to protect people is through more and more government intrusion. Perish the thought that people could just, you know, stay off of known spy and misinformation sites.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Saturday called for governments to play a greater role in regulating the Internet, citing four areas where he believes better rules are needed.

Zuckerberg said new regulations are needed to protect society from harmful content, ensure election integrity, protect people’s privacy and to guarantee data portability.

Facebook has faced a torrent of public criticism over its handling of Russian intervention in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and its policies on hate speech that many governments and users consider too lax. At the same time, conservative lawmakers in the U.S. have accused Facebook of political bias and censorship.

Zuckerberg proposed regulating harmful content by setting up independent bodies to set standards for what is considered terrorist propaganda and hate speech and is therefore prohibited.

‘You don’t say much, do you? You stuck up or something?!’ And, Tar Book, she still ain’t say nothin’…

But, Br’er Lovett, he say plenty. From TPC, last April:

His other motive was the afore-mentioned collusion. A dirty little secret of the political world is that large corporations are absolutely head over heels in love with government regulation. State mandates price out competition, prevent startup challenges, foster monopolies, and raise profits. One of “your” political heroes hinted around this fact; Zuck nodded along sheepishly.

…

What we witnessed this week was the deprecation of freedom, free markets, and personal responsibility. Some would spread that spirit beyond the socials unto the whole internet. There’s the old adage about sacrificing essential liberty for false security. Br’er Fox and Br’er Bear will promise saaaaafety, all the while plotting to sacrifice Br’er Rabbit to the dinner pot. Help we could do without, that.

See? I. Told. You. So.
