Second, listen to Andrei Martyanov’s latest. Pay attention to the book he references by Richard Hofstadter, Anti-intellectualism…. Hofstadter properly differentiated between general intelligence and the closely-related but still separate concept of intellectualization. He was dead on 60 years ago about the then current US trend against thinking. We still have that, though it’s now compounded by an outright hostility towards higher IQ itself.
