Christianity

…to comment on the death of the late heretic. They come and go. But one good thing I noticed is that many, many Catholic, Orthodox, and even Protestant Christians all appear to know the truth about fake pope Bergoglio. That’s good news.

One hopes and prays the heretic repented before the end. Just as one hopes for the purging and restoration of the Latin Church.

Easter

Christ is Risen!

As Professor Dugin said yesterday:

This year Orthodox Easter coincides with Catholic. It is a sign. Christians will be minority soon. Our God Jesus Christ needs us. He has saved us once and forever. Now we are under ultimate proof. On the eve of Last Judgment. Modernity is the test. Because Modernity is Antichrist

Pass the test and have a blessed day.

ALSO: Something for Amerikan “Christians” to consider on this Easter. (Warning to all [decent] others, these links are to extremely graphic and unpleasant matters):

You did that, wicked Amerikan evangelical heathen. Repent.

Initially, [Larry] Fink was a skeptic, often dismissing Bitcoin as a speculative asset and referring to it as a “fad.” However, he gradually became more open to the idea of digital assets. In January 2024, BlackRock introduced the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), a Bitcoin ETF that swiftly emerged as the largest cryptocurrency fund globally.

Plato AND Aristotle

Alexander Dugin, Aristotle, philosophy, Plato

Usually, and to the extent they’re ever discussed anymore in the West, it’s OR, not AND. Professor Dugin provides an interesting Russia based study.

Plato for Russian civilization and equally for Western traditional civilization is as important as Upanishadas for India or Confucius for China. Christian theology is based on Plato. Without him, his theories, his terms, his language nothing is comprehensible in our heritage.

By the way Islamic philosophy, Sufism (In Arabic and all the rest) and Shia doctrine (above all red shiism) are constructed on Plato also. Some were called peripatetics but in reality relied on Neoplatonism. Plato is central to Islamic intellectual tradition in its highs.

Jewish Kabbalah is nothing else but Neoplatonic doctrine introduced in Middle Ages into Judaic religion. Scholem argues that it was alien to previous traditional Judaism where almost no trace of emanations theory is found. Except some mystical groups (may be influenced earlier).

Plato is metaphysical foundation of our civilization. But that doesn’t mean Aristotle is to be abandoned. Proclus, Simplicius and other neoplatonists have included Aristotle in platonic context. Correct reading of Aristotle is that of Alexander of Afrodisias and Brentano.

It’s okay to be Aristotelian, Platonically speaking.

books, terminal decline, white men, writing

Jacob Savage wrote a pretty good expose on the decline of (or, at least, the reception to) White male authors in the USSA. Read the whole thing.

It’s easy enough to trace the decline of young white men in American letters—just browse The New York Times’s “Notable Fiction” list. In 2012 the Times included seven white American men under the age of 43 (the cut-off for a millennial today); in 2013 there were six, in 2014 there were six.

And then the doors shut.

Being banned and shunned isn’t exactly the same thing as vanishing. For instance, rumors to the contrary aside, I’m still here and writing. Judging Athena will be along shortly, surely restoring this White Man to the notable fiction lists of note. (Sadly, I do not qualify for the under 43 thing…)

UPDATE: The vanishing White Man has been sighted in Russia. Judging Athena gets a little traction in Moscow.

Fred Reed

It appears that Fred Reed has put down the columnizer after so many excellent decades.

Unlike many in our ashen trade, I have been fortunate in not having an editor to tell me what to write and not being constrained to specialize. “Fred on Everything” may sound pompous but it is not restrictive. Thus i could write about anything from the military-industrial complex to being a barefoot-and-BB gun-toting Tom Sawyer simulacrum in small-town Alabama to robots and the realities of Mexico. This has been fun for me and, apparently, for a certain kind of reader.

But not to most. What most readers want is to be told over and over what they already believe, preferably in combative prose. Most columnists and websites do exactly this. I could never do it, perhaps because of some psychic defect. Or maybe I am just bull-headed. The result has been that readers have been few by internet standards but, at least in my judgement, a superior and versatile sort who can disagree without huffing-and-deleting. I regard them–you– as fellow conspirators against the expected, the tedious, and the ordinary. It has been fun. I thank you for the years.

Ciao,

Fred

These interwebs won’t be the same without him. Thanks for everything, Fred!

credentials, degrees

As part of whittling down my author bio, I’ve taken to stating that I have “a few of those degreed credentials people like.” It’s true.

Vox and Cremieux have more evidence of the uselessness of mass credentialization. Per Vox:

Credentialism is just like peer review: it is a way of laundering the status of the academy to provide assurances. With credentialism, you assure employers, friends, acquaintances, your new mother-in-law, the guy next door, the local HOA, your doctor, your dentist, and your mother’s brother’s high school friend, that you’re the right type of person. But credentialism does this by placing enormous costs on everyone, and because credentialism creates a demand for credentials, it threatens the value of those very credentials by impelling a rat race and generating respected sinecures within credentialing authorities.

Everything about Clown World is a lie. Experts are idiots. Doctors kill people with more ruthless efficiency than soldiers or mercenaries. The media narrative is predictably, observably and reliably false. Schools teach nothing of value. Wealth is comprised of gambling plus debt.

Everything about Clown World is a net negative.

Please note the chart depicting the radical drop in average US college student IQ in Cremieux’s article. Not that it matters to me. I am still proud of the one degree I have not at least provisionally renounced: my 1985 Continuing Education Certificate in Computers from Mississippi State University. Trust me when I talk about computers – I have the credentials. And I’m positive computers haven’t changed a bit in the last 40 years.

decline, illiteracy, IQ

This is a follow-up to Friday’s column. The FT cannot quite admit that IQ is real. But they nonetheless observe some of the problems attendant to its decline.

This inflection point is noteworthy not only for being similar to performance on tests of intelligence and reasoning but because it coincides with another broader development: our changing relationship with information, available constantly online.

Part of what we’re looking at here is likely a result of the ongoing transition away from text and towards visual media — the shift towards a “post-literate” society spent obsessively on our screens.

The decline of reading is certainly real — in 2022 the share of Americans who reported reading a book in the past year fell below half.

That last part goes along precisely with what Tom Moore observed years ago. And from the perspective of the highly intelligent, digital media makes reading easier not harder. All of this is, of course, such lovely rosy news for an author.

GAE, medicine

Here’s a review of Undoctored by Dr. William Davis and a look around at the dismal status of medicine in the satanic states. Broken Doctors for a Broken Medical System.

Read the whole thing. And remember that like everything else in the GAE, healthcare has nothing to do with its nominal subject matter. Its all about keeping the money masters in wealth and power.
