Donald Trump and his allies have begun mapping out specific plans for using the federal government to punish critics and opponents should he win a second term, with the former president naming individuals he wants to investigate or prosecute and his associates drafting plans to potentially invoke the Insurrection Act on his first day in office to allow him to deploy the military against civil demonstrations.

He probably won’t and can’t win a second term. And he should have deployed the military against domestic enemies before the last day of his first term. In the extremely unlikely scenario he does return to the WH, plans like this ensure nothing will change. Investigations and prosecutions do not win wars.

America had a good if turbulent run. Now it’s time to move on to the next phase(s), which is easy as we’re already in it/them.
