Theresa May implored Britain to “vote conservative” today. In light of recent events and statements I’m not sure that that means vote for her. While expect the Tories to carry the election, if I were to vote, I would vote UKIP or write in “Winston’s Ghost” or something.
Exit polls later this afternoon I suppose…
Sadly Perrin, the government always gets elected in the end. But it matters not.
The ship has hit the proverbial ice berg
There were warnings, they were ignored , and in the end it was too late. Politics in this country became an innaffective bureaucracy where rules, regulations, policies, procedures and the fear of making decisions for fear of offending some sections of society became the norm. Instead of turning hard to starboard, we blindly steamed straight into an iceberg that the government refused to believe even existed.
The UK has now got an exposed and extremely vulnerable hole in its infrastructure.
It is sinking.
I fail to see what difference a new captain will make.
This comment saddened me, mainly because I fear you are correct. It’s almost like you just described the U.S. there. At any rate, the election seems to be a nail-biter, not that that matters so much.
Update: Votes still being tallied but there are predictions of a hung Parliament (and other things). And, no, that has nothing to do with bringing justice to the MPs. If it did, we would have to try it with Congress…
