Developing story… This incident looks to be very similar to the others.
There are, however, certain abnormalities with the narrative. The attack took place in front of a Mosque as worshipers were exiting services. And the initial reports are that the subject van was driven by a “clean-shaven white man,” who has been arrested. Of course, these initial reports frequently change.
There are a number of white men who are Muslims. Or, this could be a George Zimmerman-style white man. Or it could be an angry Brit with a Breivik-esque vendetta. The ISIS boys are none to fond of being taken alive and they usually exit the vehicle to start shooting or stabbing. No word on the usual “Allahu Akbar!”
If this is not a rinse and repeat, and is a reprisal, then Vox put it best:
Looks like reprisal. “Images on Twitter appeared to show a clean-shaven white man with black hair being detained by police officers behind a van.”
The media will be so happy. Only 16 years after 9/11, they finally have their long-awaited backlash.

Just one comment Perrin, I have an alibi.
Stay safe. I can see this degenerating even more that it already was. Taking a page from the other side, who seem not to think turnabout is fair play, I’d like to point out:
*The attacker was a “good boy,” really a “teen,” a “child.”
He dindo nuffin!
He was trying to get his life back on track, probably just going to visit his mother, a budding astronaut or something.
We need more money for our programs.
This does not reflect on all white men.
White men are the men of peace.
I am worried, more than anything, about White-man-phobia, Saxonophobia.
The ensuing vigil must express solidarity with white men.
The UK justice system is racist!

My guess is a retaliation on a large scale by Thursday. Although I doubt I would get decent odds on that bet these days.
I do hope this doesn’t turn into a tit for tat body count war. Not just because they are futile, but because the English don’t really do terrorism very well, unless you include India, Africa, Northern Ireland, Scotland, a few carribean island nations, The Middle East Holy Crusades, Canada,,A chunk of Spain, a smidgen of the Mediterranean and nearly America until the owners of Walmart decided to initiate a rather hostile takeover of the East India Company and kick their arses out. So apart from those we are far too peaceable to make decent terrorists.
